I wanted to come to this place for a long time and I am so happy I did! There is a parking lot in the back so parking is not a problem. The wait wasn't that bad for a Saturday morning. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The food was incredible. The pancakes were so delicious -they were crunchy along the edges and soft inside with blueberries. I can't say enough good things about them. The Taleggio grilled cheese sandwich was delicious-I never had this cheese before and this is now on my rotation. Lastly the chicken and waffles were equally as good-they came with a cinnamon butter that made the taste definitely stand out. I would highly recommend this place.
The place is small, but cozy. Our server was nice, informative, and attentive. The beverages were delicious and meals were flavorful. It was priced and portioned well. All of the dishes we ordered were our favorites, and we couldn't stop eating the straw fries. I would definitely come back just to order a plate of fries!!!
A friend recommended that we go to the corner for Sunday brunch and we had a wonderful time. When we got there, there was plenty of street parking so there was no issue there even though I know that area can become a bit busy but we did not have an issue. Unfortunately, we did have to wait about 20 to 25 minutes because there was a wait but it was worth the wait. We were given a table and our waiter came right over. She was very friendly and recommended some really great dishes to us. We started with danish board and we each got different hot drinks that were all delicious. I personally had the chai latte and it was just the right amount of sweet and spice. The danish board was delicious. I especially like the blueberry scone. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was absolutely delightful. I really enjoyed the biscuit on it. Other people at my table ordered the pancakes, the monkey bread and the vegetable hash and everyone enjoyed their meals. The pancakes melt in your mouth! After this first experience, I know I will definitely be back to the corner.
Stopped in for lunch on a Friday while in town and loved my experience. Had a short fifteen minute wait and was seated at the bar near the window. The service was super attentive + the ambience felt like a true neighborhood spot with a cozy and hip interior. Started off with a DKA pastry and then followed up with one of their specials which was their take on a chicken Milanese paired with a buttermilk ranch topped salad. Both were really solid and were the perfect start for a day filled with exploring what Montclair had to offer. Definitely wouldn't mind stopping by again when passing through!

The Corner is one of the best ran restaurants in Montclair. The food is always delicious and consistent with very little change over the years. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke don't fix it." If you were a NYC club kid in the 90s (or adjacent) you'll appreciate the playlist that echoes in this intimate space. You can hear reggae one day, Biggie another or Leo Sayer the next. It's called range my friends. The price point is right on par for the quality of food you receive. My favorite menu items are the pancakes, French fries, coffee, avocados drizzled with olive oil and lemon zest; however in no particular order. The staff is super cordial and accommodating, respecting your time and effort to be there.
A staple diner-esq experience in Montclair! Come early as its an intimate spot and fills up quickly! Today was a bit of a wait especially with all the rain but it was a filling brunch. Ordered the farm eggs dish which was such a balanced meal (I would get again). The pastry board was also delish and perfectly shareable for 3. Others ordered the brisket dish and the chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich wasn't a favorite due to the cheese used. The rind was on and tasted rancid so it ruined the dish.

Anyway- my flaked salmon salad was so delicious and fresh. My water glass was constantly being filled- really attentive staff. Also had a mocha with oat milk - perfection. Even though the place was very busy- they made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be coming back.
Super cute space , staff are very friendly, slightly elevated breakfast, good coffee, who can complain. The pancakes are a must, they are so fluffy and light! Their quiches are also very nice with super fluffy egg and a rotating seasonal menu of flavors. We also got the the soft boiled eggs on toast with avocado, salmon, and a dill cream. The eggs were perfectly runny.
Love this place for brunch and a coffee. There's usually a wait but if you're flexible about seating it moves pretty fast, they have tables, counter and outdoor seating. They usually run some different specials for both food and drinks. They also have a really good juice list in addition to all the breakfast and lunch foods. The breakfast sandwich on a biscuit is the best, the biscuit itself is warm buttery flakey but also doesn't fall apart while eating the sandwich. Definitely recommend. Also the garlic rosemary fries are a must get!! Service is always fast, they definitely try to turn tables quickly but also don't make you feel rushed. It's lively inside with people picking up to go orders and every table packed. Food is always fresh and drinks are always good!

My aunt treated me to breakfast and said she knew the perfect spot and she was absolutely right! The Corner is such a cute little breakfast spot. It fills pretty quickly, but the vibe is cozy and inviting, and the servers are great. Quick, attentive and super friendly. We started with the cornbread, very buttery and flavorful. Personally, I'm not a fan of actual corn in my cornbread, but it was still really good! For my main, I got the breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon and avocado 10/10! It's been a week and I'm still thinking about it. My aunt had the berry pancakes, and they were just as delicious fluffy, fresh berries, and perfectly sweet. Also, the OJ was freshly squeezed yum! Overall, everything hit the spot great food, great service, and great energy. I'll definitely be back!
This spot has a real Brooklyn vibe in the best way. The wait can run a little long, but it's absolutely worth it once you're seated. The food is consistently delicious--rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. If you don't mind sitting close and brushing shoulders with strangers, you're in for a genuine, cozy experience. One word... WOW. The Corner in Upper Montclair has that rare mom-and-pop feel that immediately makes you feel welcome. It's cozy, genuine, and the kind of place where you can tell there's a lot of love going into what comes out of the kitchen. And speaking of that kitchen--you can see it from pretty much every seat in the house. Watching several cooks navigate what looks like an incredibly tiny space is almost mesmerizing. Somehow, they move around each other seamlessly, and the best part? The food comes out FAST. My wife went with the hummus, and it was creamy, flavorful, and delicious. But the surprise star on the side was the salted dried kale chip--such a simple little addition, but ridiculously good. Then came my pancakes. Out of this world. Small in diameter, but super thick, with a beautifully crispy exterior giving way to an interior that was fluffy, light, and airy. I've tried making this style of pancake at home countless times, and I still have absolutely no idea how to get that texture. The syrup and berries were the perfect finishing touches. Everything just worked. I've made and had soooo many pancakes in my life, and this is easily top 3 best. The Corner is the kind of place that makes you start planning your next visit before you've even left. I'll be dreaming about getting back to this Corner. read more

When we got there, there was plenty of street parking so there was no issue there even though I know that area can become a bit busy but we did not have an issue. Really small space - cozy vibes - very Brooklyn. Service was really good - the staff all checked in and gave refills on the coffee and water consistently. The fries were 10000/10 I will be back for them. Latte was pretty good too. They cooked the bacon the way we asked but it didn't have any flavor, which was strange. I don't know if I could ever say that before today. The pancakes are more aesthetically pleasing than tasty - they're cute but don't really have much to them. read more

Was in Montclair and it was time for a late lunch so I decided to finally stop in to The Corner. Whenever I've driven by in the morning there's always a line outside as they're supposed to have great coffee and breakfast, however, it was almost 2pm so there was no line and it was time for lunch ... but I still had this awkward wait time just sort of standing there waiting for someone to greet and seat me. Once I was seated I was given a carafe of water with a filled glass (& the gentleman continued to ensure my glass was never empty which was a nice touch). The menu itself is pretty breakfast heavy but they have daily specials which seem to capture mostly non-breakfast items and I decided to try the Roadside Burger & Fries ... but I literally sat there waiting once again to be acknowledged by a server and place my order (& it was a good 5 minutes). Once my order was placed the meal arrived pretty swiftly. The burger was decent but nothing to write home about and the fries were literally potato sticks because they were so thinly sliced ... if they had been advertised as such I would've opted for a different side if possible. Overall it was a true mid experience ... but I will say the buzz in the restaurant is pretty nice as they had the door open, outdoor seating and it was a beautiful day. read more

I did enjoy the food. Service was okay. I had the fresh berry pancakes & the avocado toast. I thought they weee both very good. Lots of syrup on the pancakes but it didn't taste too sweet to me. Very crowded inside but we did eat outside, which was nice. read more
I had brunch at The Corner on Saturday around 2pm. It was pretty full but still had a relaxed, welcoming vibe. I ordered the baked eggs, which came with a tortilla on the bottom, beans, tomatoes, eggs and avocado on top. It was really tasty and satisfying. My friend had the avocado toast with jammy eggs, and he really liked it too. I also had a chai latte that was perfectly spiced and not too sweet, and my friend enjoyed one of the juices. Everything we had was fresh and well done. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a nice brunch. read more

I liked the food but the waiters do seem to rush you to hurry up and leave. I went on Sunday so it was a busy day. There was a slight wait but we could see that the manager was doing a good job with organizing and seating folks. Food was good - pastries were good. Only thing was the straw fries were a bit soggy. Juices were delicious. Deviled eggs were good. Once we were slowing down a bit but my friend still had 2 pancakes left and I still had fries I was working on, waiters will constantly keep asking if we were done. We still had biscuits and a deviled egg left that we were working on. There are a handful number of waiters so it really felt like every single waiter back to back kept asking if we were done. We felt uncomfortable so we ended up quickly leaving and didn't finish the food. read more

My friend and I came here around 1:30pm on a weekday, and while it was very busy, we were seated immediately. The vibes were really nice; the decor was cute, and the restaurant itself was very cozy and bright due to the wide windows and open side door. My friend ordered the green salad and sunrise drink, and I ordered the burger and horchata cinnamon drink. The drink was not very good. It did not taste like horchata or cinnamon, it just tasted like an unsweetened latte. The fries that came w/ my burger were weird. While well seasoned, they were really thin and crunchy, which I didn't like. But the burger itself was incredible-- super juicy and flavorful! We were lucky enough to be seated right away on a Saturday afternoon at pm. The vibe is lovely with loud music playing. The place was very busy. The Fluffy baked sweet pancakes, juicy burger with crispy, shoe string fries and the quiche special were all very good. Everything was served piping hot. Street parking available. The perfect brunch spot especially after a 5K. The turnaround time was great. We were able to hang around the coffee bar area, enjoyed a dirty chai while we waited for a table. We were able to look at the menu while we waited and ordered the smoked brisket and a juice. My girlfriend and I came here to catch up with our one friend we haven't seen since college. We were sat right away and right off the bat the service was incredible. Our waitress was very friendly and we had our waters refilled every 5 minutes (no joke). I ordered one of their lattes of their specials, cinnamon horchata latte, DELISH! I also got avocado toast with jammy eggs. Add a little bit of hot sauce, chef's kiss! Everything was priced pretty good from the service to the quality of the food. I was in town for work and saw this as a prime spot to grab brekky. I was most impressed by the pancakes which are, in fact, as thick as they appear but also maintain the crisp edges that I absolutely love. I asked for extra crispy bacon and they delivered. I also had a chai latte although my colleague ordered the seasonal cider and I kind of wished I had tried that. This spot is cozy and even has a number of fresh juices you can order. And the display was full of pastries that looked yummy but I just had to resist. My sole qualm with this place was that I was told I would have to wait to be seated until my full party of two arrived. I had been standing and was wearing my work bag. I get it, but lord let me sit down. Not much will change between a party of 1 vs 2 and also the other options (bar seating) wouldn't have been very comfortable for me anyway. Just my own personal feeling and experience. But I do understand why they have policies like this. That said, this place is def worth a try! read more

A very cute and lively spot for brunch! There's a couple of booths, a long table, and counter seating available - but also outdoor tables. Definitely bustling but the service is still great and prompt - would love to visit again for their sweeter options and fun drinks like the Matcha Colada! I got the Grilled Taleggio with tomato soup, which is like an upgraded version of grilled cheese - swapping with sourdough and some Brie cheese and truffle oil in the tomato soup. Everything was delicious and warming - would recommend for a cold weather lunch! read more
This place was so cute! The service was good, and it seems to be a very popular location for many. This location is very tiny, everyone was very much ontop of eachother. I ordered an almond latte and it was delicious considering I'm not much of a coffee drinker in general. My partner ordered an iced chai latte-- very milk based and didn't have much spice or flavor. I tried ordering the pulled pork Benedict--but beware it is only a weekend item. I went for also getting their salmon toast with tomatoes and avocado, along with 2 poached eggs. The food was delicious, everyone being fresh! We also ordered the string fries-- good but nothing crazy.--I'd opt for the breakfast potatoes instead. (Next time!) Overall I enjoyed my experience here, good place for a quick bite but beware of the crowd. read more

Despite it being full (Saturday around 10:30), we got seats within 10-15 min which was nice. I got the pulled pork Benedict & the chocolate monkey bread. My bff got the quiche and the pancakes. We each got a juice, I got the bells & whistle, she got the wild bounty. Everything we ordered was good! The pancakes were thick. We couldn't finish it all. I would definitely eat here again if I lived here. read more
