Skillet Pancake
Liz R.

I've heard really great things about Ladyfingers and when my friend was in town and in the mood for brunch it only made sense to pay them a visit. This place is much larger than it appears. There's the bakery side which also has a mini bar attached and then outdoor seating and dining right out front of it and then there's an entire additional side with ample indoor seating and a full bar ... and this is the more posh side. But truth be told sitting anywhere is an entire vibe. Our server was wonderful and explained a bit about the restaurant and went into detail about their cocktail offerings and also shared what the most popular items were which totally helped us decide on our orders. We shared the skillet pancake as recommended and that thing was PURE HEAVEN!!!! It's almost like a cake layer in a skillet with mascarpone and strawberries. We also had the steak & eggs, breakfast tamales and the chicken sandwich on the everything bagel biscuit ... every item was YUMMY!!! Our only recommendation would be that there is more of a sauce with or on the tamales and that there be a bit more steak with the eggs. We didn't get to try anything from the bakery side bc we' were beyond stuffed but that only means we've got to come back for coffee and pastries :) So glad I finally got to try this place bc it is so worth the hype!

Love this place! I've been a few times and it's always great! The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are always very friendly. The food is great and they have a lot of variety!

Ladyfingers is the sister spot of the restaurant The Brookdale which is a couple of doors down. After enjoying brunch there and wanting dessert, my server suggested I grab dessert from Ladyfingers since they share pasty items. I loved the welcoming ambiance of Ladyfingers and their wide variety of choices. It was almost too difficult to decide what I wanted to order, which I loved! I had the giant chocolate chip cookies which were freshly baked and melted in my mouth. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area to try more items.

Nice neighborhood place we had lunch next-door and bought some pasties to take home. They were all delicious.

We went to Pink Ladyfinger's for my daughter's 12th birthday brunch. It was the perfect place for a girly brunch. It was super pretty! The service was fantastic and the food was really yummy. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. My favorite was pastry charcuterie board which was perfect for the occasion.

This place is adorable! I happened upon it recently and was very impressed how this place was set up. A bakery and a bar... what a concept. After all who doesn't want sweet baked goods after a night of drinking? lol I had there GF pignoli cookie and really enjoyed it. The girl working in there was as sweet as can be. I would definitely go back.

This place is incredible! I know Ladyfingers hasn't taken off yet, but when it does...watch out! I was able to go here a few weeks ago with some friends for a lovely Saturday brunch. I really didn't have any expectations of this place - and to be honest, it looks like nothing from the outside. But holy moly, this restaurant is a treasure trove of excellent dishes and baked goods alike! I was lucky enough to experience both here - and we love eat, so we were able to sample quite a few things on the menu! When we arrived, we were seated promptly - not in the main bakery, however. We went through a door in the back and were seated at (what looks like) the other restaurant next door. In any event, we were able to order off the Ladyfingers menu - and order we did! Not only was there a fair share of both sweet and savory options, each item has its own twist- not TOO out there, but just enough to set it apart from competitors. We definitely over-ordered (it's hard not to!), but it was all fantastic. I opted for the Mediterranean poached eggs - a lovely egg dish with poached eggs, whipped feta, homemade focaccia and topped with chili oil. It was an incredible well-balanced dish with a nice kick to boot. I opted for a side of the Ladyfingers hashbrown - holy moly, this was enough to share for the table! It was huge, crispy, cheesy - everything you could want in a hashbrown, although I will say it was closer to a latke. For the table, we ordered the French toast (topped coffee creme anglaise and choco chips - yum!) and the cast iron pancake. I'm usually a pancake girl, but the French toast won out this round. It was CRRRRRRISPY and the coffee creme anglaise was exceptional. The pancake was a little dry to my liking - it seemed closer to a corncake pancake as opposed to a buttermilk pancake. It was a little dense for my liking - I was expecting something more fluffy - but it was tasty none the less. My friends also split the Breakfast Sammy which comes on a freaking DONUT, how cool is that? They gobbled it up and said it was excellent. Upon exiting, I had to make a purchase at the bakery - I mean, just look at the photos! The stuff looks irresistible! Surprisingly, this is where Ladyfingers lacked the most. I was a little disappointed in the baked good that I received, but it could have been what I selected. Also, they were fine, but just not to my taste if that makes sense. I picked up a few of the donuts, a cherry cheese danish, a homemade Ring Ding, and a chocolate croissant. Out of all the baked goods, the chocolate croissant was the best thing (but I feel like you can't really mess that up). The donuts were fine, but a little dense for yeasted donuts. The cherry cheese danish was actually quite good - the cherries on top were delicious - but it wasn't the freshest. Out of all the things I picked, the homemade Ring Ding was my least favorite. The creme in the middle was a heavy buttercream, where a real Ring Ding has something that's lighter - close to an ermine frosting - so it didn't really hit the mark for me, but someone else may enjoy it. Not to fret, though - I will definitely try other things next time, as the place has an amazing selection! Overall, I can't wait to eat here again. I'm from Hudson County and would gladly make the trip out to Ladyfingers to eat up the brunch. Do not sleep on this spot!!!!

What a cute cafe! There's 2 entrances - we stayed on the bakery side. I had the eggs with bacon, hashbrown and their house salad which were amazing. I will be returning for a sweet treat! There is limited seating but it's a nice grab and go bakery.

I honestly don't know why Ladyfingers doesn't have at least a 4 star rating, this place is great!!! Been here multiple times for brunch and have yet to be disappointed. On to the review... Food - easily one of my favorite spots to grab brunch. Their skillet pancake has no rival, hands down! The waffles with ice cream and popcorn, what I thought would be odd, just works well. I can eat 100 of their raspberry twists with that dip. The spinach in a puff pastry - get your own, I'm not sharing! So many things there to choose from and not one has disappointed me yet! The drinks - French toast latte, nuff said! However, I haven't come here at nighttime, the fact that they have a full bar really intrigues me, need to come back! Location - cute little spot with seating both indoors and out. Dog friendly, great music, great staff. Street parking in front and a parking lout out back (entrances on both sides).

Cute interior, good menu. The bakery menu day to day is limited, so don't expect to be able to order "food" food. Brunch is served on Sundays and I believe they have a very interesting brunch menu- very creative pairings/recipes. You can get an avocado toast daily though, which I did, which was hands down the best AT I've ever had! It is a delicious recipe of a mix of textures and flavors that are so perfectly balanced, and the portion of the 1 toast is quite generous! It does come with a base aioli, be warned if you don't like cream or mayo, The interior is whimsical and delightful, and the girl who served me was a sweetheart! There's also a bar there-- which should tell you how fun brunch could get. It's not a very big space sooo...

Ladyfingers will do INCREDIBLE desserts for showers! It was such a pleasure to work with Samara and her team to put together some fun sweet treats for a shower I co-hosted at The Brookdale. Thank you so much!

Bailey chai and a creme brûlée croissant. Reading material not included lol

Cute location and yummy baked goods. Had a chai latte laced with Baileys and a creme brûlée croissant. Yum! Three stars for the hours (until 4 PM?) and that they were out of RumChata when I was there. Guess I'll have to go back, maybe later in the day...

Lady Finger Bakery & Bar - A Hidden Gem in Bloomfield, NJ If you're anywhere near Bloomfield, New Jersey, do yourself a favor and make your way to Lady Finger Bakery & Bar--this spot is a true standout. I stopped in recently and had what I can confidently say was the best breakfast I've had in the Jersey area. Let's start with the food. We ordered a little bit of everything: the Silver Dollar Sliders, Cast Iron Hash Brown, Avocado Toast, and the Strawberry Frosted Doughnut with Sprinkles. Each dish had its own unique flair, executed perfectly. The sliders were bite-sized bursts of flavor--juicy, seasoned well, and cooked just right. The hash brown came sizzling in a cast iron skillet, crispy on the edges and tender inside, with layers of savory flavor in every bite. The avocado toast wasn't your typical basic brunch item either; it was generously topped, fresh, and balanced. And the strawberry frosted doughnut? Absolutely divine. Soft, fluffy--it melted in my mouth. Of course, a brunch isn't complete without a cocktail, and I tried their Lips Like Sugar. Let me just say--this drink was phenomenal. Light, sweet, and dangerously easy to sip. It paired beautifully with the meal and really elevated the whole experience. The vibe of the place is intimate and cozy. It's a small, quaint spot with limited indoor seating, which makes it feel extra charming. But don't worry--there's plenty of outdoor seating available, and it's perfect for a sunny morning or laid-back afternoon. What really sealed the 5-star experience for me was the customer service. Warm, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff here genuinely care about their guests and it shows in every part of the visit--from the plating to the pacing to the personalized recommendations. Lady Finger Bakery & Bar is now officially on my must-visit list, and it should be on yours too. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is the kind of place that makes you want to come back before you've even left.

Review: Café Faubourg - Montclair…read more Café Faubourg is one of Montclair's true gems--an authentic French bistro that feels as if it were lifted straight from a quiet Parisian street and placed right in the heart of town. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the tone: warm lighting, intimate tables, and that unmistakable bistro charm that makes every meal feel like a small escape. The food is consistently excellent, starting with their hummus, which is surprisingly standout for a French spot. Smooth, flavorful, and beautifully plated, it's the perfect way to begin the meal and pairs wonderfully with their fresh bread. The steak frites is a must-order and easily one of the best in the area. The steak is tender and cooked exactly to preference, richly seasoned without being heavy, and served alongside crisp, golden fries that are everything you want in a classic bistro dish. It's simple, authentic, and prepared with the kind of care that elevates a traditional favorite into something memorable. Service at Café Faubourg is warm and attentive without being intrusive, contributing to the relaxed elegance of the experience. Whether you're dropping in for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, the staff makes you feel welcome and unrushed. For anyone looking for an authentic French bistro experience in Montclair--excellent food, inviting ambiance, and truly charming service--Café Faubourg delivers every time.

This one pound mozzarella stick definitely fulfilled that criteria. It was so gigantic it was almost like getting a workout in just to lift it. The outside was heavily breaded with bread crumbs and the top was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and chopped scallions. Even the dipping cup was supersized to accommodate the diameter of the stick! Typically, I would have posted until after my I finished my oversized food compilation project. However, it's being posted early because The Brookdale is permanently closing its doors. I am truly sad to hear they will no longer be in business, but their three sister restaurants at 1109 Broad Street will still remain open. #thebrookdale #thebigcheese #bloomfieldnj

We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us in the dining room as long as we could wrap up before 1:30, which we appreciated. I wasn't super hungry so we shared the crispy cauliflower and lamb ribs from the appetizer menu. The crispy cauliflower was excellent -- hot, actually crispy, and not drowning in sauce which I really appreciated. The lamb ribs came over labneh (a yogurt base) and the first plate arrived with the lamb cold. I asked our waitress if that was intentional and she said only the labneh should be cold. They immediately replaced it with a fresh order and handled it really well, which I appreciated. Great service recovery and overall a really enjoyable brunch spot with a lively atmosphere.
