Nomada is such a hidden gem. Came here to meet family for brunch and I was genuinely blown away. We came during Christmas the decor was amazing. I can imagine it's beautiful all year long. The drinks were fabulous. I got something with a homemade whipped cream on top and it was to die for. I got the Birria quesadilla and let me tell you - my favorite. It's probably one of my top 5 dishes of all time. The tortillas were perfectly crispy and stuffed with tons of meat. Everything was flavored and seasoned perfectly. Service was a bit slow but understandable because the restaurant was packed. However our server was attentive and helpful when selecting our meal. My boyfriend enjoyed his taco salad with steak. To be honest, I was expecting something a bit different for my steak. I didn't expect it to be smothered in some type of a chili sauce. Happy hour menu has choices. I'd recommend tacos of any variety and get the chicharrones, best I've had. Will have to go back for dinner with the wife one day. Nomada is the newest addition to the Skopos restaurant group. I love all of their other establishments and looked forward to checking out Nomada, particularly during the holiday season. During the holidays, nearly every one of Skopos' restaurants gets decked out in holiday decorations and offers a festive menu. Nomada had really nice decor, and their menu had a festive flair to the Mexican offerings. For my drink, I had the Ponche Navideno. I'm not a tequila lover by any means, but I became a fan after having this drink! The tropical ingredients like hibiscus and soursop blended perfectly with the El Jimador and made me forget that it was a tequila drink. As a starter, I had chips and ancho salsa, which was very flavorful and not too spicy. I had the birria tacos for my entree. They were a favorable portion and tasted excellent. The short rib was tender, and the consommé wasn't greasy at all. My mate really enjoyed the chicken quesadilla, which had a very addictive chipotle mayo. Although I was full, I still managed to save room for dessert. Since I saw so many churros being ordered around me, I ordered some too. They were delectable and the chocolate and dulce de leche sauces that they were served with were the perfect complement. Our server, Jess, was attentive and provided great suggestions throughout the meal. Pleasantly surprised! We stopped by for brunch on a Saturday with our kids and stepped into a cute little tropical Christmas vibe. Menu is great, prices are average and food is yum. They also offer some great cocktails and non alcoholic drinks. Ceviche (3/5) for me it was a bit too much lime but everything in it was great just too much for me personally Chicarron (5/5) great flavor cut up in small pieces which made sharing much easier and not greasy at all Huevos rancheros (5/5) solid flavor texture variety and all the ingredients played well together Dish tacos (5/5) also great execution, I'm often left with a bit overcooked fish especially if it's not fried but this was flavorful and delicate cooked perfectly! Horchata (5/5) bonus for using oat milk for my dairy allergic daughter! Kids had chicken quesadilla and the chicken tacos both were great Good value, ample portions and would totally go back for drinks and apps. Operated by Skopos Hospitality, Nomada is a modern take on Mexican cuisine and the first of its kind in the Skopos group. They also operate the very popular Cowan's and Barrow House so I was excited to try out Nomada! We started with the May drink specials along with the Esquites app which is basically a Mexican street corn. It was very flavorful and had hints of chicharron in it. We also ordered the shrimp @ Al pastor tacos. The tacos were two for $12 which seemed to be well-priced to me. Tres Leches cake for dessert was a must! I can't tell you how good it was. 4 stars for opening night kinks but 5 stars for food! Came on opening night with my husband. I made reservations ahead of time and we were seated on time. The staff was very kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed the colorful vibe and decor. The restaurant was clean and trendy. The seating was nice and spacious. We ordered chips and salsa, steak burrito, carnitas tacos, tostones, and tres leches. The food was delicious and definitely 5 stars. Everything was served warm and super flavorful. Probably the best salsa we've had in a while. My husband loved the burrito and the carnitas were super juicy. The one issue was that we were brought the trio instead of just the chips and salsa and it was a pretty big price difference. It still tasted great but it seemed that all the tables around us were receiving the wrong items. One table was seated right after us and still had not received their entrees by the time we finished dessert and left. Overall the food was worth it and I'd come back to try more! read more

Nomada has such a warm vibe, came here recently for the friends and family soft opening and it was such a fantastic evening. When you enter the cocktail bar greats you, with its hypnotic neon lights and soft glow; only to be enhanced by the top shelf liquor selection. Cocktails were fantastic, Sonrisa was hands down my favorite; if spirits aren't your jam they do serve beer too! Our server Jeff was a gem, funny, swift and perfect timing with his check-ins. Very hard to pick a favorite for appetizers and dinner, we had ceviche which was topped off with takkis, fried pork belly and esquites; all of it was solid, ceviche may be to just because of the takkis! Birria tacos were brilliant, I had a bite of my wife's shrimp, so much flavor with the smoke and lime, really delicious bite. Churro bites and caramel sauce was the better dessert in my opinion. Rice pudding was great in flavors but the rice itself was a wee bit undercooked. Overall great experience and look forward to visiting again! read more

I came here for lunch with two friends. There is a small parking lot in the back but there weren't any spots available since there were only about 5. I was able to find parking on a side street. The decor inside is really cute. The waitress was nice and they did not rush us, which was appreciated because we hadn't seen each other in a long time and wanted to catch up. We ordered the chips and guacamole which were good, The chips were nice and hot. For my entree, I had the biarra tacos which came as 3. They were very good. The drink were strong and flavorful. The queso fundido was a large serving, we had enough to bring home. The Chicharon was crunchy but not too much that it is hard to chew. Finally made it to happy hour at Nomada and it didn't disappoint! If you definitely want tacos I suggest getting there for happy hour when it's $9 for 3 tacos and 3 normal is about $15. I had a steak, chicken, & carnitas taco, the steak was my favorite but all were flavored well. The fried pork belly was a fav! Was lucky enough to get a spot at the bar and the bar tender who assisted us seemed like the heave mixologist, very knowledgeable and busy, but all of his suggestions were spot on. We had a mango & strawberry margarita, both quality ingredients (not just some syrup from a warehouse), only knock is the glass isn't full, but still a good marg. The bar area is small with a nice selection of tequilas and the rest of the space is pretty open and nicely decorated. Overall a great spot, can't wait to go back! read more

Very very good! The service was great, my waiter was so great and knew everything on the menu. I got the birria quesadillas which was honestly the best I've tasted yet. I've had many in nyc and these ones are actually better (yes NJ!!!!) it wasn't too salt which i find others do. The taste was incredible. The ambiance was cute especially during Christmas time! The only thing that bothered me was an influencer was there and she kept shining her LED light all over the place. The waiter actually blocked me from her because that's how disturbing it was. I would love if they have influencers come in that they are seated in a specific seating away from people because it actually dampened my mood to constantly have a light shining in my face and they took over the restaurant like it was there's just to get the content they needed. My only criticism is that everything is à la carte, even a bowl of tortilla chips! I never experienced that in a Mexican restaurant. Frequent customer at Parkside. Love the staff. Drinks are great. Appetizer was great. As a taco establishment, they need to do better than a $6 taco for 1 ounce of meat. When they first opened they were giving 3 tacos for $12. Now it's 2 tacos. Hardly any toppings and meat. The tortilla itself can be fresher. Decor and ambience- 5/5. So adorable inside. 2. Service- 4/5 - we had good enough service 3. Food- 3/5 - the tacos de carne asada were small, the tortillas were VERY dry, the salsa was ok. If you're going to charge that much for carne asada tacos, you need to pull all the stops (flank steak freshly grilled, fresh salsa verde, great seasoning), my bite should be meaty and juicy. I also had a margarita that was delicious, but I could not taste the mezcal at all, maybe they skipped it? The chips and salsa were great. I'll be back to order the other menu items. Takeout: I called on a separate occasion to order takeout and unfortunately the kitchen was backed up. Not deducting points because the place is new. Will continue coming to refine my opinion in hopes that the food is better. read more

LOVE the decor, the size and the food! Once you're inside, it's really like being on vacation in Mexico. We went earlyyy on a Saturday night, sat at the bar (our favorite) and started with margaritas. I had the classic and my husband had the mango which is like a classic with fresh mango purée- both were very good. We ordered the chips and trio (they are vegan) so we could try the salsas and guac. The chips are so good - clean and obviously have their own fryer since they didn't taste like anything else. The guac and salsa verde were our favorites. We ended up ordering more! I got the stuffed poblano peppers and he got the shrimp tacos. We both loved our meals. Stuffed poblanos are vegan and tasted so clean and fresh. Service was great, attentive and friendly. The place itself if on a Main Street and has a small parking lot around back but there's also metered parking. It's really cute inside. All fun Mexican artwork. Painted tiles as coasters etc. The bar was stocked with really interesting selections of liquors. Cocktail menu was really cool and we tried a bunch of them, all one better than the last. Service was fast and friendly. Food was great. Love a small menu that's to-the-point. We had the esquite (corn), chicharrone, and ceviche w takis lol. All 3 were the best version of those things, truthfully. I had the shrimp entree w rice and avocado. You could taste that it was cooked on a fire. My husband had the birria tacos and loved them. It felt like the perfect amount of food. The desserts we had were the churro bites with caramel and chocolate sauces and the rice pudding. These were also tasty but the only things we felt could be improved upon if something had to be. Rice was a little underdone and thick. Like a paste. Live close by and want to like this spot. Esquites appetizer is 5/5 and worth a trip by itself. Tacos are inexcusable. See picture. By far the smallest tacos I have ever been served. And the most expensive. We've all eaten tacos in NYC, jersey city, Montclair, and other high rent areas... there is no reason to serve tacos this small and expensive in Verona NJ. last night was my third time at Nomada! I can't say enough about this place. The quality and consistency of the drinks have been spot on which is so rare for a new restaurant! Ive been trying a new dish each time, but haven't been able to stop myself from ordering the Esquites each time. All of the dishes are so thoughtfully, pleaded and super fun. little surprises on each cocktail and dish. The service is so warm and friendly and the decor is so unique. We really wanted to like this new addition in Verona. We are big fans of Parkside Social and was eager to trying the next door concept. The venue is beautifully decorated, well lit and has great energy from the music and buzz of the customers. The noise levels at times was so loud that many customers were yelling and screaming to hear themselves and it was a bit much. The bar as you would expect was serving well balanced and perfectly executed libations. The food unfortunately was bland. Great menu selection but it was not authentic or tasty. The short rib appetizer was dry and flavorless. The street corn appetizer was good not great. We shared a mole chicken and steak burrito and they were mediocre at best again missing flavors. Service was good as you would expect from Parkside but the food was just underwhelming. Maybe a good spot for drinks and snacks at the bar but wouldn't recommend for a tasty meal. read more

Service: I went during lunch. There was only one waiter and it took him quite some time to even get water. There weren't that many people as I think this is more of a night/dinner type place. He was pleasant although he didn't check in too often. Chips with salsa runs about $6 bucks. Now, the salsa is better than what you get at most places. Is it worth $6 - no. Most places will give you chips and salsa for free (Don Jose in East Hanover for example) although I suppose Chipotle doesn't=) Food was good. I got an enchilada and shrimp bowl. Was it worth the price - again, in my opinion - no. The food is good but not spectacular. So when there are other Mexican restaurants that taste almost or as good especially with rising costs - I just don't see coming back here. It' worth a try once though... read more

We were looking forward to a delicious dinner but were under wowed. The food was disappointing. We ordered apps to share, street corn and ceviche. The corn was under cooked and the ceviche had what appeared to be spicy chips on the top. The shrimp in the ceviche was mushy and the flavor was drowned out by the hot spicy chips. We all ended up ordering the shrimp dinner which took an usually long time to come out. The rice was awful, undercooked and hard & the yucca was bland & lacking flavors. The shrimp was just ok. They did hit the desserts out of the park, the mango sorbet was delicious and I had wished I ordered that for my entree. The trace ledge cake was very good, too. read more

Mixed Experience: Disappointing Food, Exceptional Bar. I never write reviews, but this place deserves an exception. Two weeks ago, I visited with friends and family, but the only thing I remember is how bland the food was. The main course took over an hour to arrive so long that I couldn't even eat at the restaurant and had to ask for it to-go. The entire wait was frustrating, and I had no desire to return. However, my wife convinced me to try their brunch menu this past Sunday (3/30) since we'd enjoyed their cocktails before. To my surprise, the real highlight of this place is the bar. The bartender (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) was outstanding he walked us through their collection of mezcal and other agave spirits, many of which I'd never even heard of. He explained the concept behind their house cocktails and provided excellent service. We had a solid experience thanks to him, though the food still fell completely flat.
