Woodstack is a great, casual place to dine for pizza and other Italian dishes. Reservations are certainly needed on the weekend since it's hard to quickly snag a table. I sat at the bar because the wait for a table was long, and the service was excellent. Each of the bartenders was friendly and attentive. Although I sat at the bar, I had a peach iced tea and one of their seasonal mocktails. Both tasted fantastic, and I didn't even miss the alcohol. For dinner, I had the Bader Sting pizza, which featured soppressata, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and hot honey. It was fantastic. My mate had the grandma pizza (mozzarella, pecorino romano, pesto, garlic, tomato sauce, oregano), and it was equally delicious. Since we were served bread before the meal, we could've shared one pizza since it had 6 slices, but I was glad I had leftovers. All in all, I had a great experience at Woodstack and look forward to trying their wings since I saw so many orders coming out. Plus, there is a happy hour during the week from 3-6 pm with great food and drink specials.
had a feeling Wood Stack was going to be good based on the reviews--and the crowd waiting at the door confirmed it. We couldn't get a table as walk-ins, but the bar high-tops were totally fine. The staff was attentive, and for a busy Sunday we were able to place our order pretty quickly. We tried the eggplant pizza, citrus olives, and the beet salad. The pizza was super fresh and came straight out of the wood oven, but honestly the standout parts of the meal were the house-made marinated citrus olives and the warm bread they slice and serve as soon as you sit down. Those olives are a must-order. The rest of the meal was solid, though the beet salad was just okay--it could have used more volume and toppings to make it feel more balanced. Service was friendly, but they did linger a bit and stopped by our table more than I would've preferred, I'm talking the server, busser, and food runner? and some other random employees? Love how willing they are to make sure you're having a good dining experience but it was quite disruptive to the actual meal.
Came here for the first time and had a great experience! We sat outside and the covered patio was perfect for a nice day with a bit of overcast. We had the Salumeria (cheese and meat board) special that was a huge portion! Definitely a good amount to share with a group of 4-6. My husband got the Bader Sting and it was a good amount of pizza with a lot of different flavors. I got the frutti di mare on the specials. I wish the seafood was a bit larger but otherwise it had lots of great flavors. Their espresso martinis were delicious!
We, sadly, waited YEARS to finally try Wood Stack. It simply wasn't close enough to where we live to give it a shot, but since we were heading east on 46 towards Montclair for date night we decided to give them a try. We started with some bread for the table...not knowing that the Burrata appetizer we would order was also going to come with a pile of bread. The Burrata appetizer was a special that night and was tasty, but as we discovered, a bit pricey. We also ordered an Old Fashioned and an Aperol Spritz, also pretty pricey (catching a pattern here?). We both planned to take leftovers home so we ordered two small pies to try more than one. I ordered the Grandma pie with sausage and Wifey got their special which came with ham, fresh mozzarella, balsamic glaze and fresh basil (I think). The pies were tasty though the special was a bit undercooked. Overall it was an ok experience. Service was pretty slow the night we went, but the place was pretty full when we got there. Once the pizza arrived we didn't see our waitress again until we were done eating and siting there for almost 15 minutes waiting for the check. I'm glad we gave them a try, but I'll probably stick with our pizza places closer to home.
Found this place closeby to a Tesla charging station on the way home and we were very pleasantly surprised! I was looking for a wood fired pizza since we missed out at another place and came across this place which was only 6 min away. Although they were busy on a Sunday evening, we were seated quickly and they had high chairs and crayons for the kiddo. We ended up getting the pesto burrata pizza, margherita pizza, brussel sprouts and a half for portion of the pappardelle pasta. The pesto pizza was delicious! The margherita was also good and the brussel sprouts were good (and the next day too!). The pasta was was my least favorite although it was fine. They also had yummy homemade sourdough bread (the first one is complimentary, but any additional bread is $1 extra pp). The prices were a bit up there for the portions we got, but the food was good and the staff was really nice. The inside was nice with a wood themed decor that felt cozy. Brianna was really nice and helpful throughout the evening. We would definitely return!
I've been to this spot a few times. It's spacious with a great indoor and partial outdoor bar. The menu has lots of options with salads pizza pasta and sandwiches. They also offer a brunch menu. We shared a pitcher of red sangria, the rice balls, and each had a 1/2 order pasta. I really like this spot.
Kale ceasar salad was disappointing. $15 for big pieces of kale. Lacks efforts. Didn't come with any bread. Could be better
Never disappoints! Tonight we had the fall gnocchi and the I think the papa pig pizza, both were delish! We were seated in the back next to the open outdoor space and it was a nice surprise. The server was busy and attentive. Lovely time at Wood stack pizza!
Sat outside on a hot summer night on the patio which was spacious and comfortable. Good selection of cocktails and drafts of local craft breweries. The bread in this place is outstanding and we eat plenty of it when we come here. The burrata was fresh and came with their toasted and buttered bread - yummy. Then we shared a pizza and the summer gnocchi dish which were both well executed. Our server was friendly and attentive. Fun place to spend some time with friends and family for a solid meal and some beverages of your choice. Try it!
Woodstack Pizza was exactly the type of environment my husband & I were hoping for when it came to hosting our rehearsal dinner. We had scoped out a few different options and ultimately decided that it was the best fit for us. We were looking for something that was laid back, but still felt upscale - it was also conveniently located near where we had our hotel room block in Parsippany, NJ. Having the large private room along with family style dining allowed for us and our guests to feel comfortable getting up and moving about the room to interact with our company. In the time spent leading up to our wedding, my husband and I went to Woodstack several times for our weekly date nights to try different things from their menu. We have enjoyed all of the food that they have to offer the multiple times we have dined here. Our guests also really enjoyed the spread of food & spoke about how delicious their cocktails were. Some of the favorites from that night were the Stracciatella Caprese & the "Say Cheese" pizza. Carlo was very easy to work with, and allowed us to make some minor substitutions to the menu. Brian & I will definitely be back here for a date night in the (near) future!
We've been here a few times now for birthdays and random nights out. They are always consistent. The bread they give you at the beginning is fresh, I love their mushroom pie but their pasta is also homemade and delicious. The budino is also the perfect dessert to end the meal. The restaurant feels cozy and nice.
You keep stacking the Wood and I'll keep stacking the Slices !! Phenomenal Wood Fired Pizza coming out of this place and I can't believe it took Me this long to stop in here WOW. The first thing that's completely noticeable as you walk in is how welcoming and friendly the front of the house is and table service from then on throughout the entire visit is equally impressive. Second thing that's noticeable is that unmistakable aroma of wood smoked deliciousness emanating from the ovens. It was at this moment when My tastebuds started to get a little excited in anticipation, Lol. So far I've tried their meat lover's masterpiece the "Peppa Pig" Pizza: with Soppressata, Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon Marmalade, Peppadew Peppers, Basil, Mozzarella, and Tomato Sauce. The Dough had a very nice Leopard Char to it and was thin where it needed to be and thick around the edges, the Sauce and Cheese combination was on point too and I really enjoyed the toppings which were all very flavorful and made for a perfect 5 out of 5 Pizza experience!! Out'Freakin'Standing !! Needless to say I'll definitely be back, Come And Get Your Munch On !! read more
My best friend hosted her baby shower at Wood Stack a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed my meal and the service was great too. They started us off with some appetiziers for the table which included avocado toast, rice balls, and salad. For my main course, I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese which was a huge portion. The pasta was fresh and the meat sauce was super flavorful. The inside is decorated very nice and has a sort of rustic theme. The area where we were sat was the perfect size for an intimate shower. I plan to come back and visit for lunch or dinner in the near future. Avocado Toast: 5/5 Rice Balls: 5/5 Salad: 5/5 Pappardelle Bolognese: 5/5 read more

Delicious food and pizza! The pizza comes out fast and the pasta is made fresh. I hope to return soon and try out other dishes. The head kitchen staff gave us a sample of the prosciutto and it tased divine!! It is quite busy and loud. I recommend making a reservation before coming. read more

I genuinely think that between the smell of the wood burning oven, the modern interior touches, and the menu offers customers an authentic and satisfying dining experience with its flavorful dishes and convenient amenities. Woodstack offers valet parking which I consider a major plus especially because its on a 46. The wait to sit isn't often lengthy because they have ample seating and the meals are made to order which is a win in my book. Woodstack is good if you're looking for a reliable spot with good food and convenient parking. They have an excellent local draft beer selection for those who appreciate craft brews. read more

Always good service here, very friendly. Our Bolognese sauce was excellent, the pasta was very al Dente. You must ask for crispy pizza here unless you like it doughy and flimsy. Quite a large restaurant, plenty of nice covered seating outside. read more
I've come for dinner a couple times now ever since they opened. Any of the homemade pastas are solid! The crispy brussel sprouts also get honorable mention because they are actually flavorful without being overly salty. The ambience is laid back, which is definitely my preferred vibe. read more

They have so many unique Pizza combinations to choose from, and all the Pizzas we tried tasted great. I tried Gnocchi for the 1st time here and loved it so much, but every other place I have tried since then falls short when compared to the one I had here. Service was a bit slow but that is to be expected since they were packed when we visited. read more

Great dining at a reasonable price. Quick service and great atmosphere either inside or outside, this spot offers some of the best bread you can get! Unfortunately I do not have a picture, but do not pass on the brick oven style bread to start. Apps were on the mark and highly recommend the rice balls. A lot of carbs, but don't pass on the brick oven pizza either. Definitely would visit again in the future. read more
This is such a nice place for a brunch. We came here with a group of 6 on Sunday with reservations for 11:30. The place looked pretty empty and we were offered with seating inside or outside. We chose outside. Each area of the restaurant is so nice. I needed my caffeine fix so I ordered an Irish coffee which was perfectly balanced. It wasn't too sweet or bitter. If there is one thing you need to get, it's the country bread which comes out warm with salted butter. I wish I remembered to take a loaf for home. For my entree, I got the salmon tater tots which was also really good and it had a lot of protein which surprised me! Overall a great place. read more

When I'm in the area, Wood Stack is always my go-to "let's go here to eat and catch up" place with my friends! I live in Somerset County now and most of my friends still live in Bergen County, so Pine Brook is the perfect midpoint with delicious food. I ALWAYS start with the STRACCIATELLA CAPRESE appetizer. The cheese and olive oil combination with their amazing toasted country bread is just...*chef's kiss*. Do yourself a favor and order it...every time. When I'm in a pizza mood, I almost always order the TARTUFO (roasted mushrooms, fior di latte mozzarella, fontina, truffle oil) but I've had the DIAVOLO (spicy soppressata, cherry tomatoes, calabrian chile, fior di latte mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce) and PEPPA PIG (soppressata, pepperoni, sausage, bacon marmalade, peppadew peppers, fior di latte mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce) and you honestly can't go wrong with ANY of them. Their dough is delicious and topping combinations are unmatched. I've gotten the FALL GNOCCHI (potato and ricotta dumpling, butternut squash purée, brown butter, sage, candied walnuts, nutmeg, grana padano) before which was delicious, but I prefer the pizzas as an entree here. Service has always been very friendly and the restaurant is always clean! I recommend making a reservation online ahead of time to ensure you get a table because sometimes they get really busy and have a long wait time. read more
This place has potential. The atmosphere is more than what you could ask for in a suburban town. I went for brunch and the menu was large with options. The balsamic ribs were absolutely wonderful-- they had the right amount of taste and the meat fell of the bone. The bread was fresh and warm and we thought we were in for a treat. When reading our main dishes on the menu it all sounded right. BUT when eating the dishes the flavors didn't seem to pair well-- they didn't necessarily blend, it just seemed to be a bunch of "fancier" items thrown into a pretty plated dish. I honestly would have liked a more relaxed meal with not so many ingredients. Service was good. I would definitely go back but only to try a more simplified meal like a pizza as well as a cocktail read more

Went back to Woodstack and it was delicious once again. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating to our needs. Always checked in with us. Our food came out in good intervals and was really good. Portion sizes are good for the price and drinks were strong and good! We love Woodstack read more
