Came here on a Friday night. The place was busy but there was no wait to be seated. Started off with a red sangria ($12) which was solid. The coconut shrimp ($16) was crispy on the outside and you can def taste the texture of the coconut shaves, the sweet sauce that came with it was good as well. We love it here. I can't believe I haven't posted a review yet. This is a favorite of ours. Excellent pizza, burgers, salads, steaks, sandwiches (all the food is so good) the sidewinder fries are my all time favorite. Drinks are so good - the Smokey vanilla spice old fashioned I had last night was superb and perfectly crafted with the right amount of spice and smoke. Holy gentrification batman. Let me get this out of the way, ambiance is nice and the staff are wonderful. Now that we've established that, Jesus Christ us everything here horrifically unseasoned, bland and cold Breakfast nachos you could make with a hotel breakfast spread, and even then it would be warmer. What we got were cold eggs, cold, unseasoned pork, and unmelted cheese. The taco meat was not only well done, but it too lacked even the smallest amount of salt to season it. Bottom-line? Food is cold, completely unseasoned, and leaves Tavern 73 as just another generic, gentrified bar in an upper middle class food wasteland. read more

After finishing a hot date at NJPAC, Wifey wanted a burger closer to home. Since I had been to Tavern 73 a few weeks ago she suggested we try it for dinner. The place wasn't packed, but still pretty full on a Sunday. We got a high top which was perfectly fine. Our very friendly waitress came with waters and took our drink orders - I ordered the Smoking Revolver (Bulleit bourbon, Kahlua, and orange bitters) and Wifey had the White Sangria. For our meals Wifey ordered what she came for - the Tavern Burger (just a burger with American Cheese and fries). I ordered the Surf & Turf Wrap (steak, shrimp, pico, chimichurri mayo, lettuce, avocado, and curly fries). Service for the food was slow (NOT the waitresses fault), but the food was really tasty. The burger was a LITTLE underdone, but better than overdone and Wifey thought it was great. Both of us thought the fries were delicious (I had curly wife had regular). My wrap was great, but a little soggy. Nice portion of shrimp, a little less steak, lots of avocado...could have used a pinch of salt. Place is very nice, bar area is set up nicely, great selection of beer and alcohol. There are TVs all around the place giving it a sports bar without being anything close to a sports bar. Definitely My Kinda Place!! Tavern 73 has got it going on from it's outstanding drink and menu options to it's newly renovated interior space this is absolutely one of my newest favorite local hot spots.   They've been in business now for about eight months and seem to be running on all cylinders by this point with fast friendly and efficient service both at the Bar and sit-down Table Service, very positive interactions with this incredible Staff who are extremely welcoming with their hospitality. So I'm gonna start with the good because I always believe in saying something positive for the most part. The hostess that was working on the afternoon that I went in was absolutely lovely. I was by myself as I was waiting for an appointment and had an hour and a half to kill, and she was very gracious And friendly. She immediately offered me a booth or as most people if they see someone alone they will suggest sitting at the bar which I didn't wanna do so I appreciate it that she knew I just needed to relax in peace for a bit. She took me over to a table. I will say the place is absolutely beautiful and very clean. My waitress was friendly. I decided to get one of the personal pizzas with some mushrooms. Well, that was my mistake. I have to say it was pretty horrible. I only managed to eat about three small bites of it . It just wasn't good. There was way too much sauce, barely any cheese and literally about five mushrooms after they charge extra money for that. It just was not good. I'm sorry I wanted to say that it was great but it just wasn't. I felt like I was in a dive bar and it just ordered one of the frozen bar pies and for what they charge that is not what they should be giving people. They did have a nice wine selection and it was not pricey at all. I think it was about eight dollars for a Seaglass Pinot . I'm not saying I would not give this another try. I definitely would because like I said I loved the hostess. My waitress was nice and the alcohol was not overly priced. I think maybe next time I'm gonna try some of their salads. I saw some photos and they looked pretty good. This is probably my fault because I'm so fussy when it comes to pizza I probably shouldn't have gotten that on my first visit there. You could say I'm a bit of a regular at Tavern 73. The menu is great and extensive. There are daily specials. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. I have never had a bad meal there. Excellent burgers. A variety of appetizers, sandwiches, main dishes, pizza. Great tap beer selection. And, I've attended two parties in their large downstairs hall. They do an excellent job with private parties. A great spot to watch sports! Give Tavern 73 a try. You'll return!!! read more

Underwhelmed. They don't take reservations. Waited an hour at 7pm on a very busy Saturday night. No big deal. Table was ready at 7:57. Server was friendly and attentive. Drink orders were taken. My cranberry mule was delicious. My dinner companion's margarita was way too strong. (Not a bad thing for some people!) Appetizers - chips and guacamole was very good. Side salads were tasty and fresh. Short rib spring rolls were good. The salad with Gorgonzola, walnuts and apples was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the meal. I would go back and order it tomorrow, it was that good. The meals - I had fish tacos. They were everything you'd expect a fish taco to be. On par with Bahama Breeze. My husband had the Ruben. It was heavy. Our dining partners had the steak sandwich and the carne asada tacos with fries. Sandwiches were good, but the fries were soggy and loaded down with oil. My friend ate one and that was it. I also ordered a side of kale and sprouts with bacon, thinking it would be roasted like most steakhouses and restaurants do. Unfortunately the kale and sprouts came out boiled. It was gelatinous and unappetizing. $9 thrown in the garbage. The whole bill came to about $190 for 4 of us?? I have been going there since it opened. The food is incredible! There's not one bad item on the menu. The bar area is my favorite with lots of TVs and high top tables. Drinks are delicious too! The hostess is top notch and ALWAYS pleasant and happy. Waiters and waitresses go out of their way to make your evening enjoyable and leave you alone when they see you are engaged in conversation. The manager/ owner is so kind and again always around. One complaint ...did you get rid of the short rib tacos???? They were the bomb and I didn't see them on the menu last night! Went here for dinner recently. Busy place really due to the lack of quality restaurants in the area. People are begging for more places to eat out. I sat at the bar and was provided fast service with a menu. They have a good selection of burgers. I went with the Ghost burger. I requested no jalapeño and it seemed like they also left off the ghost pepper cheese (but didn't). There was no spice at all. The bacon is very thick as stated on the menu. They offer a choice of side. I went with the baked sweet potato. Disappointed at the small size and that they provide small pre-packaged butter for the potato. If it wasn't for the thick bacon, it would be like an average diner burger. I would go back again as there are some other selection I'd try on the menu. Rating is really a 3.5. read more

I dined there with a friend on a Wednesday evening. We had the French onion soup and individual 10" pizzas. A regular cheese with hot honey and a pepperoni with hot honey. The prices are a bit high, but then everyone's prices are high today, but $50 for 2 very small pizzas and soup with no drinks besides water seems a bit over the top. The only grip we had was that some of the wait service people were very aggressive by taking our plates off the table before asking us if we were finished. They just came to our table and grabbed our plates which were not quite done and took them, while we were eating. They need to ask before grabbing, without even saying anything to us. If you want a hoppin busy place, it's for you. Good food, not so much. Drinks were nice. Husband had Chicken Giambotta, which was really bland. Lots of it but really tasteless. I had the Steak Souvlaki platter and the steak was like dish towel. The Tzatziki sauce was also tasteless. The side salad was nice. The curly fries were really not, but bug lumps of turned potato not crispy. I'm going to say that sometimes mediocre food is more appealing to the crowds. Nothing offensive. And the prices were not high so maybe this works. I'm trying to convince my husband to go back and try a burger beaded on the nice bar feel and the nice drinks. We will see. read more

Was driving along this road the week before and saw this place out my window and it looked busy. Ended up coming here the following week after initial plans didn't work out and so happy they didn't. The food was delicious. Do yourself a favor and start off with the cheesesteak egg rolls. They were steaming hot but too good not to eat right away. The cheese sauce is the perfect complement. Ended up with a brisket sandwich which was topped with crisp onion strings. By the time I got to it though, I was only able to eat 1/4. Saved the rest for later but wish I didn't have to. Yum!!! I love coming here so much! There's burgers are one of the best and oh my....... Their skillet cookie sundae is insane! It's so chewy, warm, and the ice cream cools it down a little bit when it's in your mouth, which makes it a perfect balance. Our server every time we come is amazing !
