After finishing a hot date at NJPAC, Wifey wanted a burger closer to home. Since I had been to Tavern 73 a few weeks ago she suggested we try it for dinner. The place wasn't packed, but still pretty full on a Sunday. We got a high top which was perfectly fine. Our very friendly waitress came with waters and took our drink orders - I ordered the Smoking Revolver (Bulleit bourbon, Kahlua, and orange bitters) and Wifey had the White Sangria. For our meals Wifey ordered what she came for - the Tavern Burger (just a burger with American Cheese and fries). I ordered the Surf & Turf Wrap (steak, shrimp, pico, chimichurri mayo, lettuce, avocado, and curly fries). Service for the food was slow (NOT the waitresses fault), but the food was really tasty. The burger was a LITTLE underdone, but better than overdone and Wifey thought it was great. Both of us thought the fries were delicious (I had curly wife had regular). My wrap was great, but a little soggy. Nice portion of shrimp, a little less steak, lots of avocado...could have used a pinch of salt. Place is very nice, bar area is set up nicely, great selection of beer and alcohol. There are TVs all around the place giving it a sports bar without being anything close to a sports bar. We will definitely be back!

This was my 2nd time and although I liked it the 1st time, I loved it the 2nd time. From the manager seating the 9 of us instantly, to the delicious cocktails and food (huge salads!), plus the great service from Nina, who even had no problem splitting the check 8 ways!@#, this place is definitely added to my rotation of work restaurants.

Definitely My Kinda Place!! Tavern 73 has got it going on from it's outstanding drink and menu options to it's newly renovated interior space this is absolutely one of my newest favorite local hot spots.   They've been in business now for about eight months and seem to be running on all cylinders by this point with fast friendly and efficient service both at the Bar and sit-down Table Service, very positive interactions with this incredible Staff who are extremely welcoming with their hospitality. Come And Get Your Munch On!!

First time there Nice place the mussels were delicious. My daughters steak was over cooked so she wasn't happy and the espresso martinis were very disappointing and un drinkable but I would try again maybe it was just a bad day

Underwhelmed. They don't take reservations. Waited an hour at 7pm on a very busy Saturday night. No big deal. Table was ready at 7:57. Server was friendly and attentive. Drink orders were taken. My cranberry mule was delicious. My dinner companion's margarita was way too strong. (Not a bad thing for some people!) Appetizers - chips and guacamole was very good. Side salads were tasty and fresh. Short rib spring rolls were good. The salad with Gorgonzola, walnuts and apples was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the meal. I would go back and order it tomorrow, it was that good. The meals - I had fish tacos. They were everything you'd expect a fish taco to be. On par with Bahama Breeze. My husband had the Ruben. It was heavy. Our dining partners had the steak sandwich and the carne asada tacos with fries. Sandwiches were good, but the fries were soggy and loaded down with oil. My friend ate one and that was it. I also ordered a side of kale and sprouts with bacon, thinking it would be roasted like most steakhouses and restaurants do. Unfortunately the kale and sprouts came out boiled. It was gelatinous and unappetizing. $9 thrown in the garbage. The whole bill came to about $190 for 4 of us?? Which wasn't that bad, but we all left a little unsatisfied with the food. In

Met up with a friend om a Friday night. It was pretty decently packed, but we were seated immediately. I ordered the mussels and a drink. My friend ordered a Cobb salad. I must say....the sauce with the mussels was absolutely delicious!! It was very tasty, well seasoned with a kick. My drink was good as well. Nice atmosphere too.

Went here for dinner recently. Busy place really due to the lack of quality restaurants in the area. People are begging for more places to eat out. I sat at the bar and was provided fast service with a menu. They have a good selection of burgers. I went with the Ghost burger. I requested no jalapeño and it seemed like they also left off the ghost pepper cheese (but didn't). There was no spice at all. The bacon is very thick as stated on the menu. They offer a choice of side. I went with the baked sweet potato. Disappointed at the small size and that they provide small pre-packaged butter for the potato. If it wasn't for the thick bacon, it would be like an average diner burger. I would go back again as there are some other selection I'd try on the menu. Rating is really a 3.5.

12 inch pizza with mushroom and onions

The place looks really nice! The pizza was terrible. 12 dollars for the 12 inch pie and 2 dollars for each topping. For a 16 dollar pizza, I expected better. Not pizza that looks like a frozen pie. I would not order pizza there.

Staff is friendly and space is pretty open with great lighting and tons of seating options for groups large and small. We ordered a bunch of apps and the paella along with the sangria which was YUM! Ok now doe the breakdown Chorizo (5/5) really solid option and the table enjoyed it Lamb chips (5/5) super juicy and tender really flavorful and a great option Broccoli Rabe (1/5) really bland kind of a fail for me sadly Paella (3/5) it is definitely more of a 2 person sharing option if you were only eating this. We had a number of apps and sides so it fed our table well. On its own it was fine but not spectacular in terms of flavor and rice was cooked fine. No major issues just not wow for me personally. Sangria (5/5) really great refreshing and I would recommend the pitcher! Dessert we got the crème brulle which was yum and we also ordered the baklava with iced cream which was delish! Menu is substantial but not overwhelming, value is there and pricing is respectable without breaking the bank. I would come back with an eye towards drinks and apps :)

I sat at the bar because the wait for a table was long, and the service was excellent. Each of the bartenders was friendly and attentive. Although I sat at the bar, I had a peach iced tea and one of their seasonal mocktails. Both tasted fantastic, and I didn't even miss the alcohol. For dinner, I had the Bader Sting pizza, which featured soppressata, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and hot honey. It was fantastic. My mate had the grandma pizza (mozzarella, pecorino romano, pesto, garlic, tomato sauce, oregano), and it was equally delicious. Since we were served bread before the meal, we could've shared one pizza since it had 6 slices, but I was glad I had leftovers. All in all, I had a great experience at Woodstack and look forward to trying their wings since I saw so many orders coming out. We couldn't get a table as walk-ins, but the bar high-tops were totally fine. The staff was attentive, and for a busy Sunday we were able to place our order pretty quickly. We tried the eggplant pizza, citrus olives, and the beet salad. The pizza was super fresh and came straight out of the wood oven, but honestly the standout parts of the meal were the house-made marinated citrus olives and the warm bread they slice and serve as soon as you sit down. Those olives are a must-order. The rest of the meal was solid, though the beet salad was just okay--it could have used more volume and toppings to make it feel more balanced. Service was friendly, but they did linger a bit and stopped by our table more than I would've preferred, I'm talking the server, busser, and food runner? and some other random employees? Love how willing they are to make sure you're having a good dining experience but it was quite disruptive to the actual meal.

Our friend attended culinary school and owns/manages a restaurant, and is certainly a fellow "foodie." She raved, so we went! Not disappointed at all, the service was top notch but not "in your face" in annoying fashion. I had a few beers, my wife had a cosmo or two. Started with Carpaccio and calamari, both favorites of ours and fantastic. Calamari was perfectly crunchy and tasteful, and they brought the red pepper flakes upon request. I got the prime rib, which is a Monday night special and I'm told if you don't get there by 6:30pm, you run the risk of them running out. That was truth, as the table next to us arrived 20 minutes after we ordered and were denied as they had no more. Amazing. Although a ribeye is my go to, I just couldn't resist the strong recommendation on the prime rib and I was not disappointed. My only regret was not ordering the larger portion, it was fantastic. So flavorful with a dipping sauce/gravy to die for. The long peppers my wife ordered as a side really packed a punch, wow were they good. Photo included of all! Highly recommend this place as it's somewhat relaxed environment (I wore a jacket, but many were in cargo shorts/pull over shirts. Great service, decent pricing. Give it a try.

When we arrived (around 7pm) there was only one occupied table in the restaurant. The room was cold and drafty, as if they were trying to save money on the heating. We had to change tables twice trying to avoid the chill which was forcing my mother to keep her winter coat on. On our first visit, the breadbasket included some delicious garlic bread. That was gone this time. Previously, the staff immediately set out an ice bucket and glasses when they saw our bottle of white wine. This time we had to ask for both, twice. Throughout the meal, we watched our waiter standing in the doorway to the kitchen engrossed in whatever he was doing with his cell phone. Given that the restaurant was virtually empty, the fact that we couldn't get his attention when we started to have issues was frustrating. I chose the Calamari Chino again as an appetizer. I enjoyed it so much on our first visit that it was the one thing I knew I wanted again. Unfortunately, I ended up sending it back. Although it looked like the same dish at first glance, the crispy and tender calamari I loved the first time was now soggy and rubbery. My mother again went with the Grilled Norwegian Salmon, which she enjoyed. My father had the Paccheri & Shrimp alla Vodka, which is described on the menu as sautéed wild shrimp, over paccheri pasta with a creamy vodka sauce, oyster mushrooms, & green peas. He wasn't a fan of this. It seemed to be missing both the oyster mushrooms, & the green peas. He also described it as being "goopy" and thought it tasted artificially thickened in some way. I ordered the New Coconut Jumbo Shrimp, which is served with grilled asparagus, white rice, in an orange marmalade sauce. I had high hopes for this since coconut shrimp is a favorite of mine. The presentation was quite nice, but the shrimp was overcooked, and the coconut coating was nearly burnt. I believe it had been left in the deep fryer too long. Frankly, if I had not sent back the calamari I would have sent this back as well. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant still looks nice, but it seems like they're just going through the motions now. I don't see us returning.
