The food is consistently good, the drink prices are very reasonable (something that's getting harder to find), and best of all, they don't tack on a 3% surcharge to your bill. If you're looking for the best place to watch a big sporting event, Sidelines is it. This is one of those reviews where I'm not sure whether to give the place three stars or four. Sidelines Bar and Grill is a no-frills place to watch a sports game and have a drink, burger, sandwich or something else that's fried. My burger was pretty tasty and a decent portion for the price. The waitresses were also very nice. They changed the channel on the TV near us so we could watch the game that we wanted. So the menu is not big and the place is sort of a hole in the wall, but if you're looking for what they have to offer, it's a decent place to have a meal. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Sideline Grill in Livingston. It has such an awesome, friendly vibe--it really feels like one of those welcoming neighborhood spots where the regulars love to hang out. They also have a ton of Christmas decorations up right now, which made the atmosphere feel extra festive and nice. The service was excellent; the staff was amazing, incredibly nice, and very helpful throughout my visit. I came in on a Sunday and it was perfect because they had all the TVs showing the football games. For food, I tried the fries (which were voted #1) and they did not disappoint! They came loaded with jalapeños, onions, cheese, and their special Sideline sauce. It was very tasty--honestly the best "Sunday guilt meal" I've had in a while. Why am I giving 5 stars? Because our waitress was really cool, the selection of beers on tap is good, and that mozzarella ball appetizer is a must order! It was a random decision to pop inside here after a game of mini golf next door. There were five of us, and we grabbed a table in the back. The bartender/waitress came over and gave us menus. She was friendly and also brought us a pitcher of water along with our beers. My friend got the Oktoberfest and we both got an order of the mozzarella balls with marinara. I shared mine with my dude, and he was a fan. Oh, I should mention we were wearing Halloween costumes. Why I also like this place a lot was that no one gave us issue being in there dressed up. It was really chill. People who were there were just having their drinks and watching the hockey game on the TVs/hanging out. No one heckled or messed with us; so that earns points from me. Overall *** Closer to 2.5 Stars as Sidelines is not a place I would desire to return to. It just doesn't have the environment I enjoy nor the food to bring me back. Setting ** The location is very odd, essentially an office building, sharing space with a Monster Golf and a school. If not for all the neon signs hanging in the windows i never would guessed what the place was. The actual front entrance isn't clearly identifiable (to the far left). I suppose there would be ample parking once the other businesses close. Inside Sidelines is like a flashback to an early 2000 sports bar with its garishly red walls and signs everywhere promoting something. There are TVs everywhere with the sound playing over the main speakers. On a slow early Monday evening the 4 other patrons were an odd sort and probably regulars. The guy blaring rap music on his phone as he sung along was particularly unpleasant. Unexpectedly the bathrooms were absolutely spotless! Service **** The only person working was a very friendly female bartender. She was pleasant and on point with the only real mishap was serving drink garnishes that had gone bad and should have been thrown away. Food ** My wife ordered a salad with grilled chicken and when I asked how it was she could only give me a cold glare and muster a "not good". I ordered the wings and it was obvious they were cooked twice as they were dried out and falling apart. Value *** I accidentally threw away the receipt but I recall it being pretty reasonable. A generous top shelf G&T was $10, wings around $10 and the salad around $15. So reasonably priced overall but for the food quality it's about right. read more

Went last night with the hubby and some friends, this was our first time here. I want to start off by saying the bar was super big I love a bar with a lot of space. I hate going to places where everybody's on top of each other. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and I should've took pictures, but everything we had was perfect. Sidelines was good and exactly what I expect from a sports bar. Several beer options including a few craft options. The menu is limited but the food is good, I enjoyed both the burgers and the wings. There are plenty of tvs so you should be able to watch any game on at least one of them. The only drawback is the atmosphere. Its in a warehouse type building and even though they have a bar, pool table, and juke box it still feels like a warehouse with a bar inside it.Not sure how they fix that but just never felt very comfortable there and probably wouldn't choose to stay for more than a drink or two. read more

Found myself in a horribly-planned work training fiasco, and we needed somewhere to go to dinner with 19 people (at the last minute) on a Tuesday evening. I had never been here before, but called on a whim to see if they would take us. The woman said she was working the bar alone, but was willing to make it work. I'm so glad she did. She somehow managed to serve all of us PLUS the regular customers at the bar. Even with all of that, our food came out pretty quickly. Cute little hidden gem. Staff are nice, food is really good. We went for a quick bite. We had a burger cooked perfectly medium and not charred and still raw, a side salad which was very ample and could have been a main course and the best butternut squash soup I've had in a long time. If you want your food under and hour, don't go here. Granted, we went with a group of 17. The waitress took our order pretty quickly, first our drinks, then the food. The drinks took at least 10 minutes. Most of us ordered appetizers, burgers and salads. These are menu items that don't require enormous prep. One woman arrived 30 minutes after our order was placed, yet she got her food 30 minutes ahead of us. 45 minutes into waiting, I asked what was the holdup and she said "There is only one cook, and we are trying to get everything out at the same time. Bad move. No manager every came to apologize or offer us anything. One hour later one of us still didn't get a salad!! I was a restaurant manager for year, so I understand the challenges faced in any food establishment. This is a sports bar, not a five star restaurant! Hire a another cook for gods sake!! The wait staff was very nice, but the place is as if covid isn't a thing. People walking around without masks on. Zero social distancing. Not sure what their capacity limit is but at some points it was almost shoulder to shoulder. Came at 6pm on a Monday. Bar was fairly empty, but that was expect considering how early it was. My first impressions were, MY GOSH, their bar is so nice looking! and how awesome it was to have a pool table. My friend and I say wherever, and we proceeded to order drinks - him, a beer, and me, a Gin and Tonic. First of all, the drinks were pretty strong, which is obviously a huge plus. They don't skimp on alcohol. Second, they were really helpful with their recommendations. Our server Casey was really awesome, and joked around with us a lot, but not to annoyingly. The food we ordered (burger, salad) came out really fast, and in huge portions. The burger was cooked fantastically, and the salad was really good value. As we ate and drank, the bar filled up more and more. I wish I came during a better sports night, as the only thing that was on was the NBA draft, but I could tell, with the amount of TVs they have, the quality food that I sampled (I will need to try more), the drink variety, and fast and helpful service, that this place must be a lot of fun to hang out at during games. They take their fries very seriously here. Disco.... Truffle...Taco... They also introduced this CA girl to Pierogies. Found out these are like raviolis but from Poland. I saw this appetizer on a view menus in New Jersey and decided to try here. Verdict is just let's say different. Guy next to me suggested I try them at an actual Polish Est. Sidelines is a really good bar. The bartenders are really chill and down to earth. I met the one bartenders casey, she's hilarious and makes people feel like they've known her for years. They have servers too in case the bar is busy or you just wanna sit at a table. They also have a lot of specials for certain days and parties. I follow them on social media so I see all they offer. The food is amazing! I had their pulled pork quesadillas! Amazing! Their french fry selections is really cool and comes on a skillet. The southwest fries are the best. They also carry disco fries and taco fries. The salads are good too if you're trying to eat a little healthier. They have a huge liquor selection and great beer too! They have a pool table and jukebox which is one of my favorite things in a bar. I've been to a lot of bars in the area and not one comes close to sidelines. Out of all the places I have been in 54 years this was the worst it's a very clean nice looking sports bar but the service..is absolutely terrible..ate there today six of us and our bartender server could of cared less we were there. She should get out of the service industry and go work for Verizon because she spent all her time on her cell phone..had to go to the bar for everything. I gave her a $4 tip on a $53 bill and now regret leaving anything .I would never go back here because of the service and it's a minute walk from our hotel the best western .I'd rather pay $7 for a beer then go back..gave it a one star only because needed to do that to post a review .would have gotten no stars. read more

Having passed this place several times, I decided to meet a buddy of mine there. It's a little more than your prototypical sports bar, including a solid selection of beers on tap, pin ball machine, arcade game that includes all the childhood favorites and even billiards. A bunch of TVs and a friendly staff really add to the experience. Sweet, friendly, attentive staff has made my visit worth while, especially when you get Sammi (yes, the "I" is important) pouring you ice cold beer.
