Culinary gem! This cafe could rival any cafe/restaurant in Manhattan or 5-star hotel. We also ordered an omelette, pancakes, bone broth soup, sides of chicken apple sausage and bacon. Every member of our party was highly satisfied and enjoyed their meal. Service was outstanding! Graham was on point- very attentive to all customers and made sure the place was running smoothly. I really wanted to give this place a higher rating. The atmosphere is 12 out of 10 and the service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. I ordered some baked goods, the brisket tacos, and the vegetable hash, both of the meals off the Daily Things menu and I think I probably should have just ordered off the regular menu. The only thing I really enjoyed flavor wise was the Afghan Chai, which was delicious. Let's break it down: Of the baked goods, we got a blueberry scone, a biscuit and chocolate croissant. Presentation was excellent and they served the baked goods warm which got me very excited, but they were just okay. The biscuit was dry and the scone lacked flavor, out of the three, the chocolate croissant stood out. For the meals, the vegetable hash was essentially chopped vegetables burnt which I don't mind, but I got a single brussels sprout and a small piece of cauliflower, and it was mostly beets and zucchini. I feel like it was not balance in terms of which vegetables you got served. It also lacked flavor and really was not worth the money. I even took the leftovers home with me and it made my car stink. The brisket tacos were actually good, but not great. The flavor was good, but two tacos for the price and flavor wasn't enough for me to consider ordering it again. I want to give the Corner another chance as the pancakes and grilled cheese looked good and I would go back because the atmosphere was really nice and so was the service, but to be quite honest, the food left me disappointed especially since the presentation was excellent. I should note that I also got the mulled apple cider also in the Daily Menu to go, and it tasted like perfume. I threw it out which is sad because I loved mulled apple cider and the drink didn't even taste like it. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and just think I ordered the wrong things off the daily menu. I would go back and try other things and maybe it'll be better. The front of house staff are always so quick and kind. The food is too notch- as a breakfast/brunch spot but also as a restaurant in general. It's probably my favorite in the area, I wish they did dinner- I can't imagine how tasty it would be. (So this a compliment to the cooks/chef as well!) A MUST TRY! Now, I will admit, this place is a hole in the wall and I probably would have never thought to stop here if I didn't do some research. But it was definitely worth it. We had a short 30 minute wait, but it was super convenient that they text you when your table is ready rather than you having to wait there. Everything was absolutely amazing! This is my second time visiting the corner, and keep coming back for the shoestring fries. This spot is the perfect place for a brunch, and I believe the outdoor dining is now open. I choose indoor dining because it was a bit cooler however I did find the music to be a bit loud. The interior is very nicely decorated and have super cute neon signs. For food, I ordered the Corner burger which came with the shoestring fries. The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. For drink, I got the strawberry rosemary. My boyfriend got the pulled bbq chicken sandwich with grapefruit thyme. We enjoyed everything that we ordered and opted out of dessert because the burgers were so filling. No we weren't there for hours we literally just finished our meal and I was still eating. I came here with a friend on a Sunday afternoon and the experience was amazing. There was a 20-minute wait around 1:30 pm, which wasn't too bad. The staff was very friendly and super accomodating to all our needs. We both ordered the Baked Eggs, and we loved it! Just want to update this review as we had a very nice brunch today! Seating was still limited due to covid but the staff were busy this sunday morning and everybody was hustling and bustling. You could see the hardwork each of these staff are doing and we still got our orders coming out perfect! I had the Sunrise juice and it had a nice balanced blend of orange, apple and carrots. Delicious! I liked that it wasnt iced meaning I was drinking 100% juice. My omelette came out wonderful as well with mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes and cheddar. The side of sourdough was perfectly toasted and smothered with butter and jelly. And lastly my husbands order of Crispy fried chicken with corn bread was one of the most tastiest ive ever had. For a cafe this place is great. The food here is very natural and fresh, you can taste its goodness. They have natural juices with vegetables and they are a must. I had the sunset which has carrots, oranges and apples (I asked for some pineapple as well) and it was sooo refreshing. I had their croissant and it was flaky on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. It comes with a sweet raspberry jam but you can eat the croissant all by itself it's that good. As my entree I tried the baked eggs and it's their take on huevos rancheros and all I left was the crumbs. The only downside of this place is the wait. What a treat. The corner is what brunch dreams are made of. Came here on a Thursday morning and for 3 people it was about a ten minute wait. It went by super quick, we even took some pictures outside by their super cute outdoor wall mural. Once seated we got our drinks. I got a delicious cappuccino with a beautiful foam heart! We scanned the menu on our phones and got to looking. We all decided on different things, I got the burrata and prosciutto toast. So good! Delicate toasted bread, which I believe had a little sweet tang to it. Huge pieces of burrata, which was so fresh and tasty. Then comes the grilled radicchio and grilled strawberries! All topped with a small amount of jam and prosciutto!! Oh, it was beyond delicious. I was torn between this and the baked eggs but I'm so happy I got this. My friends got the bbq chicken sandwich with chips and the omelette with fruit and a side salad. I believe my one friend also got a side of chicken apple sausage which looked great. Can I just say how I love this place? I love the staff...so nice, so kind and so witty. Even when they get my order wrong (the manager), they still kill it! COVID report: Returned in late January and ordered takeout for brunch. It was super packed with people inside, which is not for me in this current day in age (I'm not sure if NJ is at 100% capacity for indoor dining at the moment, but it was definitely that full), but like I said I was getting takeout, so anyway, not a big deal. Takeout process was easy; I checked in with an iPad-wielding gentleman and he brought it out to the car when it was ready. Servers were all wearing masks. It was super sweet overall. Only had half, big portion. SERVICE - A OK. Went on a Saturday afternoon, the wait for outside seating was 25 minutes. Waiter/tress was super friendly and helpful with menu questions. Food and coffee came out somer quick. COVID - (. I sat outside so can only speak to outside dining). they sanitize the tables between customers. Tables were spaced out. The menu is a QR code sticker on the table, just scan with your phone camera and a pop up directing you to the menu online shows up on your screen. Staff is wearing masks. Sixth time is a charm! But sadly, wasn't a charm. I see we are the minority that we didn't love this place. It took us six visits to finally get a seat here, over a year, that didn't have an hour to two hour wait. We found if you go before 9:30am your shot at getting a seat is pretty good. We see why there is an appeal and all the raving reviews; upscale modern breakfast menu, fresh pressed juices, creative specials, cute neighborhood digs, but we didn't think The Corner was that impressive and here's why... 1. Almost Everything is ala cart and small. $14 omelette plus and extra $5 for a side and $3 if you want toast. We are NOT and I repeat not cheap people and will pay for a good meal but $28-30 if you want a full hearty breakfast, an omelette, potatoes, bacon and maybe toast. That's outrageous! 2. Sides come out first, there is no negotiating that, so if you want to eat your potatoes or bacon with your meal, consider them cold once your food arrives. Ours was. 3. Food was just not memorable, we found it very regular in comparison to a traditional diner ! Sorry not sorry. Our breakfast potatoes were fridge temp cold, not room temp, I mean really cold and so overcooked - nearly dry inside. We didn't enjoy them. The bacon was a thick cut, looked quality, but the taste was just not there for me. I took one bite and no! I had an omelette, again nothing special. My husband had the pulled pork Benedict special. We also ordered prosciutto and ricotta that we didn't finish, two fresh pressed juices that were good but I guess you can't go wrong there. My friend and I stopped by the corner on a Saturday around 1pm. It was pretty packed, as we expected but the wait for 2 was only 15 minutes. Ambiance: This is a really cozy hipster cafe with delicious fresh squeezed juices, pastries, and your typical breakfast and brunch options. It's small space and very busy, but the staff do a great job of making a small space still feel comfortable. Food: One of the special sides of the day was roasted potatoes with salsa verde which I saw on another customers plate and had to order and split with a friend. The roasted potatoes were essentially home fries with Cajun seasoning and the "salsa" served on the side was more of a light creamy green sauce than what I typically think of as salsa - but both were very good. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Toast which came with avocado and tomato. It was ok but not my favorite; there was nothing wrong with the meal but I felt the toast was a little too crunchy for my liking and my toast came loaded with avocado which I didn't really care for. My friend ordered the farm eggs which comes with your choice of 2 eggs, house smoked bacon, whole grain toast with berry jam and a small side salad and fruit. She said her eggs tasted very fresh and she enjoyed the berry jam with her toast also. We also split the Fresh Berry which were amazing. You get 4 that are about an inch thick. They are light fluffy inside and buttery and crispy on the outside. Some of my pancakes had blueberries, but they all came topped with whipped cream and strawberries and blueberries and were sitting in a pool of maple syrup. If you want to wait 45min to be seated outside on an uncomfortable bench and served cold food, only to be rushed off of your table immediately after you finish eating then this is your spot. Don't get me wrong the food is good but they literally have gotten everything else wrong. We don't get to go out often but when we do, nothing is more frustrating than being rushed out of restaurant that you paid good money to eat at. The servers literally stalk you until you feel compelled to leave. It is a popular spot but they won't take reservations in advance so you have to wait for a table pretty much every time.
