A friend brought me to Jackie's Breakfast's new spot, and I'm so glad they did because I probably wouldn't have found it on my own. From the moment I walked in, I loved the vibe. The huge windows bring in so much natural light, and the cozy couch-style seating by the window made me want to stay for a while. The space is laid out really well--it feels open, comfortable, and inviting without being overwhelming. The staff was genuinely friendly. Order at the counter, someone checked in to make sure everything was going well, and another team member brought our food out. The service felt seamless, and I just felt good being there. I ordered the tuna melt, which was really good, and paired it with a chai latte. The chai had a stronger cinnamon flavor than I'm usually used to, but honestly, I enjoyed it. It paired really well with my meal, and by the end, I was glad I ordered it. The menu has so many options that I already know I need to come back. There were several dishes I wanted to try, and I also loved that they have pastries if you're just looking to grab something light with a drink or want a quick stop instead of a full meal. Another thing I appreciated is the location. It's surrounded by other businesses with a nice walkable area, so it's easy to make a morning or afternoon out of your visit. Even though I don't live in New Jersey, I'm already thinking about making another trip back. This feels like one of those places where you can meet a friend, get some work done, journal by the window, or have a casual meeting during a quieter time of day. I feel like the universe knew exactly what I needed this afternoon - a 5 star casual lunch experience - which is why Jackie's was the first result that popped up when I searched "salads". The place is rather small however they've done a nice job with seating both inside and outside and you don't feel cramped. I ordered my Greek salad with grilled chicken at the counter and I was given a table number and told my food would be delivered shortly. As I waited I was given a cute carafe of mint infused water (which was so delicious and refreshing) and my salad was delivered just a few minutes later by a really friendly gentleman. Once he confirmed I had everything I needed he left me to eat (but did come back and check on me throughout my meal). THAT SALAD WAS THEEEEE BEST!!!! The ingredients were soooo fresh, the salad & stuffed grape leaves were delicious and the chicken was seasoned to perfection without it overtaking the perfect balance of flavors in the salad itself. Cute place. I've been coming here for years. However, like anywhere else prices have gone up, and sometimes you feel like things are hit or miss. For example, my $9 grilled cheese, in the past, was toasty and tasty. This last time around it was a soggy oily mess. For 9 bucks I expect better. The new "revised" location in Montclair was a profound disappointment today. Have been a customer for years but some of the changes were not very good. First, wanted to phone in an order for a wrap but told no longer allowed and needed to use app or come in myself in person and wait for sandwiches to be prepared. When I got there was informed they no longer offered a GF wrap of turkey and Swiss but all "luncheon meat" had been eliminated in new space. My wife is obsessed with Jackie's Grillette so I promised her I'd try it. Let's just say that I too am now obsessed with Jackie and her grillette. I got the chicken Caesar wrap and fries. The wrap was so delicious, with super fresh chicken and lettuce and the perfect amount of Caesar dressing. These wraps can be hit or miss because it's overwhelming how much dressing some places use, but Miss Jackie knew what she was doing. The fries to me were the star of the show. I slowly drank the beet cleanse juice throughout the morning and it was a lot better than expeced (beet/carrot/green apple/lemon/ginger). Would not be opposed to drinking that regularly. I ate the schawarma bowl later and aside from the feta cheese (not a big fan of heavy cheeses, probably should have asked for it be ecluded) the bowl was packed with all sorts of ingredients and tasted amazing. Plenty of chicken mixed with rice, arugula, pickled cabbage, and chopped salad with tzatziki, there is nothing to dislike about it.
