I feel like the universe knew exactly what I needed this afternoon - a 5 star casual lunch experience - which is why Jackie's was the first result that popped up when I searched "salads". The place is rather small however they've done a nice job with seating both inside and outside and you don't feel cramped. I ordered my Greek salad with grilled chicken at the counter and I was given a table number and told my food would be delivered shortly. As I waited I was given a cute carafe of mint infused water (which was so delicious and refreshing) and my salad was delivered just a few minutes later by a really friendly gentleman. Once he confirmed I had everything I needed he left me to eat (but did come back and check on me throughout my meal). THAT SALAD WAS THEEEEE BEST!!!! The ingredients were soooo fresh, the salad & stuffed grape leaves were delicious and the chicken was seasoned to perfection without it overtaking the perfect balance of flavors in the salad itself. Oh and it was plates beautifully!! Jackie's quickly became a favorite and will now be on my lunch rotation! Oh and they serve coffee too so I may be back to try that out as well.

My wife is obsessed with Jackie's Grillette so I promised her I'd try it. Let's just say that I too am now obsessed with Jackie and her grillette. I got the chicken Caesar wrap and fries. The wrap was so delicious, with super fresh chicken and lettuce and the perfect amount of Caesar dressing. These wraps can be hit or miss because it's overwhelming how much dressing some places use, but Miss Jackie knew what she was doing. The fries to me were the star of the show. They were super crispy and delicious and I honestly could've just eaten these as my main meal (they were that good). Jackie grilette is worth the hype!

Jackie's is a staple in the Montclair community. Even though I'm no longer a New Jerseyan, I always make a point to stop by whenever I'm back for their delicious soup and enormous salads. I had the Greek salad, while my daughter opted for the same but added chicken. The lemonade was refreshing, and the mint water was delightful! I absolutely love this place!

Three times in 2 weeks. Delivery and pickup chicken gyros. Lemon chicken takes the gyro to level 5. I went old school with my pick up order. I called, the person who answered was nice. Chicken Swarma sandwich was ready when I arrived to the small shop. Pita is full of well seasoned chicken and vegetables. Tasty hummus and bean salad. On street paid parking Parking lot in rear

A cozy fast dining cafe in Montclair serving wraps , sandwiches, and bowls as well as smoothies and breakfast foods. This was my first time visiting Montclair and won't be my last !! We situated ourselves at a table to look at the menu & ordered/paid at the cashier counter. I ordered the gyro platter (24$) and my friend the lamb/beef plate (22$). There were pastry goods to choose from & the fun sized baklava caught my eye (so naturally I ordered it). The food came out so quick ! Our eyes boggled at the enormity of our dishes. The chefs gave us generous portions for each component of our meal. I had a great salad, enough tzatziki sauce to dump over my gyro and dip my crispy fries in, and huge pieces of gyro meat. Delicious ! The waitress also came by 2 times to clear our table & make sure everything was okay. Everything was okay!

I ordered the mujadara platter, which I have always ordered for years. I ordered it again recently, and it was delicious! Their taziki is my favorite! The lentils are cooked to perfection and are super flavorful. I need to know what they put in the salad, the dressing is delicious. Their mint lemonade is a staple! My husband ordered the bang bang sandwich, he loved it too! Their fries are perfectly crispy! The service is quick and kind! Things have changed over the years, but they've improved in my eyes! The decor has improved too, they remodeled and it's very modern and clean inside! They make it easy for me to want to come back!

Finding a lunch spot that manages to combine healthy ingredients, delicious flavor profiles, and exceptional service can be quite a task. Jackie's Grillette checks all these boxes for me. A must-try is their Shawarma Bowl. This grain bowl is packed with a diverse mix of ingredients, beginning with a solid base of rice and fresh arugula. The highlight, however, is the chicken shawarma - juicy, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying. The addition of a vibrant chopped salad, tangy pickled cabbage, creamy feta, and a dollop of smooth tzatziki, rounds off this dish, ensuring every bite is a fusion of Mediterranean flavors. For a slightly different spin on a grain bowl, their Freekeh Bowl does not disappoint. It starts with a base of organic cracked green wheat and fresh arugula, creating an earthy foundation. The chicken kebab is cooked to perfection, providing a hearty protein punch. Adding to the mix are creamy avocado, grilled vegetables, juicy cherry tomatoes, and a generous helping of hummus. Each ingredient in the Freekeh Bowl complements the other, making it a truly wholesome meal. My only real complaint is that the bowls are so big that it's a lot of food for one person but I like them so much I can't stop eating. So when you want something lighter I recommend going with their wraps. Stuffed to the brim with tender, seasoned chicken and fresh veggies, these wraps are a delight to the palate and satisfying to the stomach. In summary, Jackie's Grillette is a place that deserves high praise for its ability to consistently offer nourishing, flavorful dishes. Try it when you are in the neighborhood.

I stumbled upon this spot in Upper Montclair for lunch and I was super pleased! For a "quick service" type of restaurant, the service was excellent. The entire team was hustling, both on the floor and behind the counter. I really enjoyed my bowl (and got two full meals out of it) and appreciated the refreshing mint-infused water on a hot day. I look forward to coming to explore more of the menu!

I was told that Jackie's Grillette's breakfast burritos can save the world and they weren't lying! My iced americano with two brown sugars was so perfect and so was the waiter who served me my food. It's so clean looking and modern inside with outside seating available as well. I love the daily quote chalkboard.

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to return yesterday. This time, I went alone. I was excited to go back, until the moment I walked in and was immediately asked whether I had a reservation. I said no. I was one person, and there were plenty of empty tables. Despite that, I was placed in a freezing corner by the door. It was uncomfortable and honestly unwelcoming. Nowhere on your website does it say "reservations only," yet that's exactly how I was treated. I felt so uncomfortable that I chose to leave without even placing an order. I walked in ready to spend money and enjoy a meal, and instead I walked out feeling dismissed. You lost a paying customer. What makes this worse is that I later told the same friend I originally went with, and she shared that when she calls ahead for a party of two, they simply tell her to come in because there are plenty of seats and that reservations aren't even required. So clearly, reservations are not the issue. That makes the way I was treated feel intentional and different. As a Palestinian who spends a lot of time in Paterson, I'm very familiar with Middle Eastern restaurants and pricing. Lentil soup is a staple on our menus. I know what a reasonable price looks like. For example, Kral Pide in Paterson charges $7. Charging $15 for lentil soup is excessive. It's not just high, it's outrageous. I'm extremely disappointed. I came back because I genuinely liked this place. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone, nor will I be bringing friends or family to this establishment again.

We also tried the crispy chicken wrap, Caesar salad wrap, grilled protein bowl, and a Dubai chocolate cheese cake. Everything was ok to good. It was all very fresh, but the steak in the protein bowl was chewy, some things lacked a little flavor, while others were very flavorful. So just a bit inconsistent. Service was friendly and helpful. Their kindness and patience made me a customer for life, especially since I was juggling an indecisive human and a cranky toddler. We ordered the shrimp and salmon wrap, the tenders and fries, a Turkish soda, and a fountain drink. The wraps were flavorful and delicious. The salmon tasted fresh and wasn't overcooked. The Turkish soda was something I'd never tried before, and I was amazed by how light yet flavorful it was, all while having half the sugar of regular sodas. They also have parking, which is a huge plus, and they offer delivery themselves. Overall, such a great experience!

I was truly looking forward to enjoying this place because the Yelp reviews seem to rave about the…read morecozy atmosphere, wonderful service, and the fresh food preparation. But although I found the restaurant to be cozy and my server to be friendly, the food though freshly prepared was just average at best. Let me explain. So, after perusing the menu, I saw a few Mediterranean staples, such as, baba-ghanoush, lentil soup, and a beef Shawarma entrée. So I decided to order all three of those items. Now, let me tell you not only was I excited to taste the food here, but I truly wanted to experience what a majority of people on yelp said about this place and its food. But I soon discovered that you truly cannot trust other peoples opinions when it comes to food. You just literally have to try it yourself to see if it even resembles that cuisines standard benchmarks. Well anyway, let me get to what I thought about the food. The lentil soup it's pretty tasty, but it would serve lukewarm. The baba-ghanoush was also tasty, but the pita bread was stale and void of any flavor. And as for the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, it was literally chopped up cubes of beef! Nothing near to what a standard Shawarma entrée should resemble, or let alone taste like! To be quite honest, I was so disenchanted with the Shawarma entrée that I asked my server to take it away and just give me the bill. I was ready to go! But my server genuinely saw my disappointment with this so-called Beef Shawarma that she pleaded with me to try another entrée. So I asked her to recommend another entrée to me. And she recommended the Skewered Chicken entrée. So, I caved in and went ahead and ordered this Skewered Chicken entrée. But I should've just went with my gut feeling and just should have paid the bill and left. I say this because it took forever for them to prepare this Skewered Chicken entrée and I mean forever! And this is on a Tuesday night with only two other people inside the restaurant, so literally this place was empty! (Not sure if the Cook made me wait for this dish out of spite for me sending back the first entree but that is my suspicion). Anyway, I got my server's attention and she told me if I could wait a few more minutes because they were plating my dish and that it will be out shortly. And that literally took another 10 minutes. To say that I was eager to get out of this place would be an understatement. I was standing up literally putting on my jacket when the dish finally reached my table. My server asked me kindly to return to my seat and to try her recommended entrée. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I did so. The Skewered Chicken entrée was a little better than the so-called Beef Shawarma entrée, but really nothing to write home about. What a letdown! I really wanted to give this restaurant one star, but my server really showed genuine concern about my dining experience. And I truly appreciated that. And so as for my take on Le Souk of Montclair NJ. I would caution spending your hard earned money at this restaurant. The food is mediocre at best and there are a lot of better options in the Montclair area for Mediterranean food.
