The Smallz boars, head, turkey substituted hard provolone instead of the American cheese and the works

So we were waiting outside of Holsten's to open a week ago and I was starving and I noticed this deli across the street. I started looking at the menu items and my mouth started to water. We had agreed to go to Holsten's so we ended up going there but today a week later we ordered sandwiches through DoorDash. And we are so glad we did! The sandwiches are very high-quality very fresh. The prices are reasonable for the quality and the portion you receive we will definitely be ordering from this place on the regular.

I've seen this butcher shop/market many times, but they were closed when I arrived across the street at Holstein's ice cream and luncheonette But this past Sunday, I was there early around noon and finished lunch and went across the street and went into Mastriano's They were closing at two so it was quite busy. I looked around and the pork chops and steak looked good in the display case so did the soup I saw that they also had store baked turkey and specially made corned beef So I ordered some turkey corned beef, provolone cheese. I decided to get a single pork chop along with chicken soup and a half Stromboli with spicy sausage. The lady at the counter said that they are very well known for their pork chop. A customer was telling me how delicious the pork chop would be. So I had a very nice interaction and received my order once they were done preparing the turkey, corned beef and cheese The Stromboli was very delicious after I heated it up for about 20 minutes, but I also got some of their fresh marinara sauce which I had with the Stromboli The next day I made the chicken soup. Nice chunks of chicken, onion, celery, corn, carrots, and peas. It was a very good tasting broth. Not too salty definitely homemade and fresh no MSG in the broth, which was good very pleased with the chicken soup. I decided to put the pork chop in my cast-iron frying pan. Took it out and added some salt and put some salt on it before I started cooking it sea salt. I sat down to have my lunch. Cut into the pork chop and was wondering how good it would be. Usually pork chops are so so. Well, this pork chop was absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful flavor. It was a very deep rich flavor. Much better than any other pork chop. I've had. Not sure if they put "secret ingredient" into the pork chop. I wish I had ordered a few more and then I could've frozen a couple. I'll definitely be coming back to get more pork chops. Also, I would like to try a steak and some other items I didn't get last

This tasted so so good. It had chicken cutlet, mozzarella, roasted red pepper, hot pepper, prosciutto on a roll. I added my own balsamic glaze which made it worthy of a *chefs kiss*. Recommend bringing cash to the place and checking out their variety of meats, perogies, and italian desserts. Didn't have a chance to try it out but I'll be going there again at some point, this sandwich was amazing.

The perfect porchetta. Mastriano's prepared it, and gave me great cooking instructions.

Had a good friend recently tell me I needed to come back, so we did. Tonight we ordered a half rack of ribs, a pulled pork sandwich, and the pulled pork Mac-n-cheese. In a word, the food was fantastic. I've had BBQ in a LOT of places and also have my own smoker that I've gotten pretty good at using it so I know good BBQ...and this is good BBQ. The ribs were delicious - cooked perfectly the way the want them in competition...not fall off the bone, but with a little bite, and the flavor was great. Amazing bark on the outside with tender meat on the bone. The pulled pork sandwich was so tender and delicious that I wish I didn't have to share it with Wifey. And their homemade BBQ sauce is absolutely great...a little spice on the back of the tongue, but still sweet without being overly sweet (they have four kinds, but I only wanted the traditional). The pulled pork Mac-n-cheese was very rich but full of flavor with a nice breadcrumb topping as well. Each platter also came with cole slaw, something often overlooked by BBQ places, but not here. Very tasty, very fresh, though I think it needed a pinch of salt. I do wish we had gotten some cornbread, but honestly, we walked away very full. The service here is super friendly and our food came pretty quickly...and I really love the layout and vibe here. I spoke to the owner about how much I loved the food tonight and how it was such a difference from my first experience. I'm so glad we came back. The people behind the counter all seem to LIKE what they're doing...and that means a lot. Real BBQ places are always pricey, because you aren't paying for just the food, your paying for the hours and hours and hours of cooking it takes to get the food to taste as good as it does and to be tender. You can't take shortcuts with BBQ. So yeah, Embark isn't cheap, but if there's one thing I've discovered over the years it's that you DON'T want cheap BBQ. Embark is a BYOB place so bring your favorite beer, order some great food, and sit with friends savoring the deliciousness. I will NOT wait this long to come back again.

There is a decent amount of seating, although there were more takeout orders at the time I visited. It's very clean inside and decorated nicely. I ordered the 2-meat sampler with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was awesome, super tender and packed with flavor. The BBQ sauce really complemented the meats. The pulled pork was also very good, but the brisket was definitely the star. The mac and cheese was just okay. The breadcrumbs on top made the mac and cheese a bit soggy. Portions were a bit small for the price. Overall, I thought my meal was good but I would definitely come back just for that brisket.

The staff was welcoming, attentive throughout the entire dinner, and made the experience feel smooth from start to finish. Every course came out timed perfectly and you could tell there's real attention to detail here. We started with the pork belly and it was incredible. Perfectly crisp on the outside while still being super tender and flavorful inside. Rich without feeling too heavy, and balanced really well overall. Definitely not a throwaway appetizer -- it set the tone for the rest of the meal immediately. The Fire Porterhouse was the main event and completely lived up to the hype. Easily one of the most flavorful steaks I've had. The char and smokiness on the outside paired perfectly with how juicy and tender the inside was. Every bite had that perfect steakhouse flavor while still tasting high quality and refined. You can tell they know exactly what they're doing with their meat preparation. It's the kind of steak you keep thinking about after dinner ends. For dessert we got the upside down ice cream cone, which was honestly the perfect ending to the night. Presentation was fun and unique, but it also actually tasted amazing -- creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet. A lot of restaurants focus too much on presentation with desserts, but this one delivered on both. Overall, the combination of the food quality, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail made this an easy 5-star experience for me. Quality Meats absolutely deserves its reputation and is 100% worth visiting if you're looking for a top-tier steakhouse in NYC. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to.

I told myself I was going to start bringing lunch to work. You know--be healthy, save money…read more.. maybe a nice yogurt. Right on cue, my coworker texts: "Where are we eating?" Well. That plan died instantly. We had just gone to Rocco's Steakhouse yesterday for steak... so naturally, we decided to go out for steak again. Because balance. Four of us rolled out like we had a reservation with destiny. We started strong: Grilled bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño. My coworkers loved it. I personally don't believe peanuts belong anywhere near my bacon, but I respected the chaos. Massive cocktail shrimp with three sauces--we split those like civilized people. Cobb salad, for health. Obviously. Then came: Dry-aged porterhouse meatballs with gorgonzola crema and black garlic. Good--but in my world, meatballs belong in a proper red sauce. I'm traditional like that. Main event: Bone-in dry-aged prime sirloin. Delicious. Tuscan-style, not drowning in butter. Ordered medium rare... received "this cow has a LinkedIn profile." Sides absolutely stole the show: The Quality Potato (elite) Gnocchi & cheese (life-changing) Brussels sprouts (so we can keep pretending we're making good choices) Dessert:Carrot cake ice cream slice + espresso. Because at this point, why stop? Service was amazing--our waitress and busboy were so engaging they even brought us extra cookies. I felt seen. The place itself is cozy, warm, a little industrial, and tucked below ground--like a delicious steak bunker. Anyway... I'll bring that yogurt tomorrow.Probably.

As many reviewers mentioned, no one bothered to acknowledge us when we arrived, so I flagged down a waitress who said we could sit whenever we want. We chose to sit in the airier covered outdoor area (which isn't exposed to the elements so is perfectly temperate even in cold weather). There were no instructions on how to order either - this seems like a basic customer service fail: is it that hard to slap up signage explaining 1-2-3, or for someone (anyone!) to greet you and ask if this is your first time here and walk you through the process? Anyway, I'm glad I read the reviews and checked out what we wanted to order beforehand, and asked questions at the cashier. Sure, it's not that hard, but one really shouldn't have to actively track down multiple staff for directions on where to go or how to order at a restaurant. The deal is: decide which meat(s) you want from the poster (there is no menu), place your order (sold by the pound) with the cashier, pay, go to your table, and a server will bring the food to you when it's ready. The meat is (at current writing) $45/lb with unlimited sides and soft drinks. We ordered 1 lb each of beef brisket and lamb shank (1 lb = 2 shanks), which was the perfect amount of food for us 2 hungry adults, 2 teens of modest appetite, and a toddler of negligible appetite. The meat is simply seasoned (Arab bbq style) and came out lukewarm, but is off-the-bone tender and we enjoyed them with the variety of sauces. There are four types of sides: cucumber & tomato salad (good), spring mix, saffron rice (fine but my toddler loved this), and mashed potatoes (bland). It is a well-balanced meal, not too heavy. The chefs are friendly and we watched one film a demo almost certainly for social media. He even let us taste some of what he was seasoning, though there were no pyrotechnics as I had hoped from seeing some of the reels. The service wasn't bad - not terribly proactive but not non-existent either, and we always received what we requested. They could do better with customer guidance, but now that I know what's up I'd come back for the food and would like to try some other meats next time. Meat Moot has many franchises across the Middle East and Turkey, and NJ is one of only 3 locations in the US (the other 2 being in the Midwest). Street parking only.
