Very cool "old school" butcher and sandwich shop! Staff were pleasant and professional. I purchased Berkshire pork chops, prime New York strip steaks, and a rack of pork ribs. All of it looks great! The sandwich list was too good to pass up, so I got a chicken cutlet, mortadella, broccoli rabe, and fresh mozzarella wrap. Stopped into Mastriano's Quality Market for lunch and was seriously impressed by the variety they offer. You can tell right away this place takes pride in what they do the deli case was loaded, everything looked fresh, and the staff was friendly and quick. I ordered the Johnny Boy and the Buchiee Boy, and both were absolutely fantastic. The flavors were spot on, the portions were generous, and you could taste the quality in every bite. I've seen this butcher shop/market many times, but they were closed when I arrived across the street at Holstein's ice cream and luncheonette But this past Sunday, I was there early around noon and finished lunch and went across the street and went into Mastriano's They were closing at two so it was quite busy. I looked around and the pork chops and steak looked good in the display case so did the soup I saw that they also had store baked turkey and specially made corned beef So I ordered some turkey corned beef, provolone cheese. I decided to get a single pork chop along with chicken soup and a half Stromboli with spicy sausage. The lady at the counter said that they are very well known for their pork chop. A customer was telling me how delicious the pork chop would be. So I had a very nice interaction and received my order once they were done preparing the turkey, corned beef and cheese The Stromboli was very delicious after I heated it up for about 20 minutes, but I also got some of their fresh marinara sauce which I had with the Stromboli The next day I made the chicken soup. Nice chunks of chicken, onion, celery, corn, carrots, and peas. It was a very good tasting broth. Not too salty definitely homemade and fresh no MSG in the broth, which was good very pleased with the chicken soup. I decided to put the pork chop in my cast-iron frying pan. Took it out and added some salt and put some salt on it before I started cooking it sea salt. I sat down to have my lunch. Cut into the pork chop and was wondering how good it would be. Usually pork chops are so so. Well, this pork chop was absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful flavor. It was a very deep rich flavor. Much better than any other pork chop. I've had. Not sure if they put "secret ingredient" into the pork chop. I wish I had ordered a few more and then I could've frozen a couple. I'll definitely be coming back to get more pork chops. We have gotten our catering and Christmas beef tenderloin from Mastriano's for the last 5 years. We are also loyal regular customers for deli meat and sandwiches. This year the beef was delicious as always BUT it was literally DOUBLE the price. We were shocked when we picked it up but had no choice as it was Christmas Eve. And I feel like the owner convinced us to get way more meat than we needed for our headcount. We have a ton of leftovers and spent way more than in last few years. This tasted so so good. It had chicken cutlet, mozzarella, roasted red pepper, hot pepper, prosciutto on a roll. I added my own balsamic glaze which made it worthy of a *chefs kiss*. Recommend bringing cash to the place and checking out their variety of meats, perogies, and italian desserts. You can't beat the portion sizes and freshness of the ingredients for the price. I've tried a couple of their subs but I would also say that my favorite is the #32. They also are a butcher shop with great prime meats and they have a nice frozen section as well which includes Long Island duck breast. The employees are also very helpful and friendly. One thing to note: they're closed on Wednesdays. Apparently this is a tradition that dates back to the original owners. read more

I had such a craving for a good deli sandwich, and this place came up #1, and naturally, we can rolling on into this shop, and thank God we did. This shop serves as a sub shop and a butcher shop, WINNING already. For an indecisive person, this was hard, the sub menu was a page long, and all sounded delicious. We decided to go with the #3 - Hey, How Are YA? Prosciutto, sorpressata, fresh mozzarella, and hot cherry peppers with a splash of balsamic. The menu states that each 1/2 sandwich has 1/3lb of meat, and they weren't lying. The half sandwich fed myself and my SO. While we were waiting there, we got to peek at all their fresh deli offerings and they offer the holy grail! Speck! Speck is a smoked prosciutto and is not offered at many delis! So basically we walked out with a 1/3 lb sub, a pint of soup and a lb of smoked meat. Literally, winning in all aspects. Service was great as well. My husband and I drove 20 minutes to get a sandwich based on the reviews. We walked in and there was not a single person physically in the store. Before we were even able to order we were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes because they were 'backed up with phone orders'. Came here for the first time yesterday and got a #3 "hey how ya doing" which was prosciutto, capocolla, sopresata, mutz and hot peppers. The bread was perfect hard italian brea, meats and cheese super fresh and the peppers had a really nice kick. I got a "small" which was a perfect size sandwich for one. Wish I could give them a 4.5 it was a very good sandwich and anytime I need an Italian style sandwich this is where I will be coming back to. The place appears clean and had 5 employees who were all polite. Now the sandwich ........ Quality bread and abundant chicken breast. Chicken breast was a little dry. They greeted us and chatted with us the whole time. So I stumbled upon this place on Monday evening as I was picking up ice cream from Holsten's (where the ice cream is addictive, by the way). Anyway, I wanted an antipasto tray for my birthday to take to my monthly dissertation meeting. I walked in and was greeted warmly. They worked with me to tailor the tray the way I wanted. I picked it up and it was ready on time. Needless to say, but I'm going to (lol), it was DELICIOUS!! Happy Birthday indeed!
