    Gnocchi And Cheese

Overall quality of the food was pretty good. We ordered our filets medium rare and they were cooked perfectly. We also had the gnocchi and cheese (their version on Mac and cheese) and it was just ok. Not my favorite. The cream corn brûlée was pretty good. The service was ok but nothing exceptional about it. It was a decent meal.

Fiiiinally made it over to Quality Meats when my friends from Jersey decided to surprise me for a 40th bday dinner. We were a party of 4 and were promptly seated upon arrival. The place/ambiance is pretty swanky, definitely 'milestone birthday' worthy. For drinks, I opted for an old fashioned and then their signature Cherry Cola Manhattan (Marker's Mark, PX Sherry, Amarena Cherry, Cola Bitters Blend) which was pretty damn tasty, and I'm a sucker for maraschino cherries. Food-wise, we started off with their bread basket (buttery and delicious), and then appetizers consisting of: Grilled Bacon with Peanut Butter and Jalapenos - amazing...I mean, bacon and peanut butter with a kick, what's not to like? Dry Aged Porterhouse Meatballs (gorgonzola crema and black garlic) - not the biggest portion, but still very good. Traditional Steak Tartare - loved the DIY aspect, getting to mix in the egg yolk and spices. yum. For my main, I got the Bone-In Dry-Aged Prime Sirloin - The outside was a bit over-charred, but otherwise fine. Lots of marbling. Next time I'd probably go with the filet. For sides, we got the famed Yorkshire Creamed Spinach Corn Créme Brûlée (famed for a reason, this was a very unique and tasty dish) and the Parmesan Waffle Fries (a friend was deadset on these lol - was fine). Aaaand for dessert, we definitely splurged at got the: Salty Snack (Peanuts, Popcorn, Pretzels, Potato Chips) - big big fan of this, as a peanut and ice cream fan. Sticky Toffee Pudding (Warm Toffee Topping, Pecan Crunch, Malted Ice Cream) - the warm toffee, the crunch from the pecan, the cool ice cream...lovely. Humor Me (on the house - Our Take On The Strawberry Shortcake "Good Humor" Bar) - while we didn't order this, and it was the 'birthday cake/candle holder'...this was probably and surprisingly the best of the bunch! Nostalgic and suuuuper yum! All n all, Quality Meats was, indeed, very quality! It's definitely an expensive AF night out, but sometimes you deserve the finer things in life...and there are lots of fine things at Quality Meats.

I won't bury the lede--my friend raved about the steak here, and we didn't even think about it; came to try the 28 Day Dry-Rubbed Porterhouse for Two. It was... excellent. Flavorful and incredibly well seasoned and cooked to order, medium rare. It's pretty no frills for a high end steakhouse--about halfway through I realized there was no steak sauce or anything--bold, I thought... I guess they think their steak is so exceptional it can stand alone. Ultimately I thought it a touch below that--but not very far off.   Beyond the steaks, there were a few unbelievable standouts, including the Corn Crème Brulee side. While I am a creamed spinach stan, this might be the best side I've had in a steakhouse--a sheer delight that hits all those taste buds so hard, we fought over the last bites! A similar delightful surprise to me was the Sticky Toffee Pudding--I'm generally not a dessert person, but this was just an unbelievable complex, delicious delight--contrasting temperatures (with ice cream), textures... and just delicious.   There were also a couple of items that underwhelmed a bit--two things I assumed I'd love. The Bloody Mary Granita Oysters sounded right up my alley, combining two favorites, but the Bloody Mary topping kind of overwhelmed the oyster. In an eerily similar fashion, the Yorkshire Creamed Spinach was too bready, with the Yorkshire taking a bit away from the unctuous joy of creamed spinach. Both were decent, but not quite what I hoped.   Cocktail game was largely solid; I loved my Cherry Cola Manhattan, and my wife enjoyed her Teardrop Martini--I found the Horseradish Vodka, Tabasco, and Teardrop Peppers a bit too spicy and one-note, but it worked for her. It's a loud, bustling spot, seats a bit cramped in some spots, but overall a nice spot, with solid service. Not my overall favorite steakhouse, but it might be yours--an incredibly solid and worthwhile spot to try.

LOVE THIS PLACE. Their porterhouse for two is fantastic. Flavorful, good size and well-priced. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the bacon appetizer and Caesar salad to start. 10/10. I did not think the peanut butter and jalapeño combo could work- I was wrong- delicious and different! For our main- we had the porterhouse for 2. Cooked very well, great flavor. Needed nothing. For sides we got the gnocchi (COULD HAVE EATEN A PLATE OF THIS!), asparagus and broccoli. All great, solid sides. We had the sticky toffee pudding to close out the meal and really enjoyed it! Service was on point. And the vibe is upscale, fun and relaxed. Really enjoyed our meal. Will be back!

Food was exceptional! Service was amazing and attentive but not overly. Would come back again!

We came here for a little holiday get-together with colleagues, and the night started with an unexpected but much-appreciated gesture. After mentioning we were disappointed about losing a reservation elsewhere, our waiter surprised us with complimentary appetizers--delicious ones, at that. We actually felt a bit guilty he overheard us, but the kindness didn't go unnoticed. The starters were great across the board: the asparagus and Brussels sprouts were fantastic, the caviar sliders hit that perfect salty-sweet balance, and the bacon with spicy jam and a peanut-butter base was surprisingly good. The lobster toast stole the show for me--rich, buttery, and hands-down my favorite. The ribs didn't quite win over the group, but the sweet potatoes and meatballs quickly redeemed things with their great flavor. I gave four stars mainly because, while this is a steakhouse, my steak missed the mark twice. I ordered medium-rare but received medium-well both times. I'm not one to send dishes back repeatedly, so I just went with it. The steak itself had great flavor--it just wasn't cooked to the temperature I requested. All that said, it was still a wonderful evening. The service was excellent, the dishes were well executed, and the overall experience more than made up for the hiccup with the steak. I'd definitely come back.

This was my 6th visit to Quality Meats. QM has been my family's favorite go-to steakhouse whenever we visit NYC. The food is quality. The service is friendly and quick, which really helps when you're trying to catch a Broadway show as we were. We had a 5pm reservation, spent two hours dining and made it with 20 minutes to go for our 8pm show. I wouldn't rush this experience - you'll want to relax and enjoy! We were there this time to celebrate a friend's birthday. The quality of food and the service remain top-notch. They delivered a birthday dessert (strawberry shortcake ice cream) in addition to the dessert we ordered. The food was all decadent. We started with the peanut butter bacon - which was melt in mouth, to die for - ordered a tomahawk ribeye steak (shared it - 14 oz is plenty for two people who don't eat a ton of meat in one sitting), a filet, whipped potatoes, and spicy Brussels sprouts, along with a few glasses of wine (not inexpensive at $24 a piece, but those are typical NYC prices and not out of the ordinary), an after dinner espresso martini, and a chocolate cake on a platter (which is a very large portion for just three people). Overall, it was another positive, delicious experience.

Excellent meal. I've been to quite a few of the Quality branded restaurants and I had my first time at "Meats" this week and it didn't disappoint. Most of us had the bottle of Quality cab/red blend and for $80 a bottle it's a steal. The complimentary bread service is the cutest little baking dish with 4 garlic buttery Parker house style rolls that are spectacular. We shared the green goddess salad and the broccoli cheese bites (technically a side dish) as our starters. The green goddess salad was fresh and bright with sundried tomatoes, olives, diced cucumber and plenty of dressing. The broccoli cheese bites were a little more creamy and fried than they were "broccoli" but definitely fun to try. They also brought complimentary meatballs for us to try that were exceptional (would 100% order these again). Our server was phenomenal and suggested a few things that made our mains phenomenal. We were tucked in a corner with a great view of the other diners and had a nice big round table that made sharing as a group easy as could be. It was nice dim lightning and perfect noise level for a high energy business dinner or a date night. We had two sliced filets with creamed spinach, Brussel sprouts, gnocchi, and French fries. Our server also brought out the creamed corn and the seasonal lobster toast. They also brought us some complimentary truffle butter service for the filets. Review on all that- corn was a bit too sweet for us, but if you like a sweet corn soufflé, it's for you! Lobster toast was DECADENT And unbelievably delicious. Sprouts were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Gnocchi was creamy and heavy, but my boyfriend's favorite and a slightly smaller portion which matches how much u needed for the flavor. Creamed spinach came out in a puff pastry and was really good, in my opinion the perfect compliment to the filet if you didn't want truffle butter. All in all can't wait to come back and once again Quality shows they know exactly what they are doing.

One of my favorites!! I highly recommend Quality Meats if staying in New York City. Everything on the menu is delicious. They have one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. You must try the corn dish. Super convenient location near Central Park. The price is is very reasonable for a New York City steakhouse.

    Cake gate

do not come here!! they will eat your cake!! they are fat and greedy!!! they will charge you a cake cutting fee and then steal whatever cake is left. do not come here with any cake of your own unless you want the fat staff to consume it for you

It was our last holiday night in New York, and we were excited to dine at the highly recommended QM for our final steak dinner. Unfortunately, the experience started off on the wrong foot. The hostess was curt and unwelcoming, lacking any sense of holiday cheer, which made for a poor first impression. The restaurant was packed, which is usually a great sign. We were seated on the main floor in a corner near the kitchen, where a noticeable draft kept us uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The ambience itself was classy and upscale, with a vibrant energy and a nice buzz. Service, however, fell well below expectations for a five-star steakhouse. Multiple staff members seemed clumsy and inattentive to detail. One server nearly dropped my entire meal into my lap, and another actually spilled a plate of compound butter sauce down the back of my husband's jacket. For appetizers, we started with the bacon, jalapeño, and peanut butter dish, which was a definite hit at the table. The deconstructed Caesar salad was beautifully presented on a round flat board and is something we would recommend. The pan-fried potatoes, served in a hot mini cast-iron pan, were essentially thick-cut potato chips--not what we expected and not something we would order again. The parmesan waffle fries also were a bit disappointing. The tomahawk steak was the standout of the evening--cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the table side truffle butter, which was beautifully presented, but unfortunately it arrived after we had already finished nearly half of our meal. After the spill on my husband's jacket, the manager did come by to apologize and attempted to make things right by comping several desserts, which were spectacular and appreciated. Overall, while the steaks were very good--as one would expect from a steakhouse of this caliber--the overall service needs significant improvement to match the quality of the food.

Tomahawk. Very disappointed. Where's the rest????

Wanted to treat my husband to a nice tomahawk steak and was completely disappointed. Tomahawk was super small. My glass of wine was a sip a very light n pour. Ambience nice. Service ok.

Amazing experience!! The ambience is amazing and so is the food. I got a dirty martini that was ginormous. They brought us the softest melt in your mouth bread to start. We also got the steak tartare which was fantastic. To eat w shared the porter house which was out of this world amazing.

    Is there music?

Yes there is music playing in the waiting area/bar and also music at the dining tables! Not too loud but enough to enjoy

We dined there in dressed down casual attire! Bon Appétit

    Nope

Do the have any gluten free dishes?

    Yes

What time do they serve from the lunch menu and the dinner menu?

    Is there a kids menu?

While we don't have a formal children's menu, there are options such as chicken fingers & waffle fries, a petite filet & waffle fries, and gnocchi & cheese; which is our version of mac & cheese.

Does the sidewalk seating outside have heaters? It seems like it would be extremely cold to sit there in the winter...

Hi Meaghan! Our outdoor cabins are heated.

I don't see the Moroccan carrots on the menu. Did you take it off?

    They went back to Morocco.

Are cuts from grass-fed beef or corn-fed. Do they have options to choose from?

I believe it's corn fed unfortunately

Do they serve free range meat?

What grazing density do you accept as "Free Range"?

Will there be any special menus for Resturant week?

    Yes. Specials every day

Do they offer happy hour? If so, when and is it only at the bar?

    Sorry, I don't know.

For the larger "for two" steaks that are listed with "per person" prices on the menu - does it just mean the actual prices are double?

Yes. So it's like $120 for the cut.

Do their steaks come with any sauces? For example, peppered sauce etc

They prepare a delicious sauce tableside. If it’s on special I highly recommend the bone-in filet with bone marrow gratinee. It’s phenomenal!

When is the best time to eat here? I mean day of the week and time of the day.

I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

This is a hidden bar upstairs of a restaurant. Small and intimate dimly lit space. Although small,…read moreyou still felt the energy of the room. Very full cocktail menu. Staff was accommodating and let us sit for an hour as we didn't have a reservation. Don't try any of the light bites. I'd come back

We had an extra person when we checked in and they happily added her to the rez. We just had to wait about 15 mins which was fine. We were seated around 7:30pm. It was busy and bustling in the upstairs bar. We were seated at a spot resembling a coffee table(s) with chairs / ottomans surrounding it. I got the martini. It was a fun play with the green curry and saffron. This place is a little loud, so it is not easy to have a convo with your party. I am old so this probably wouldn't have been something I clocked in my younger years. They do have food which looks intriguing. Especially anything with truffles on it. If in the area, would definitely consider coming back for a quick drink and bite. REVIEW #4013
