MEAT OK, PREPARED FOOD NOT SO MUCH Bought a rib roast here and it was ok. Guy wanted $5 to cut the roast into individual chops! Outrageous. I grew up shopping in high end butcher shops and they don't charge to cut the roast after customer just spend $75 to buy it! Lobster roll had very very little lobster meat in it and horrible tasting spices. Just terrible, threw it out after two bites. Frozen lamb chops were marinated in some horrible tasting spices. Couldn't eat them. Dog wouldn't eat them either! imagine. Be careful at this place, you can get taken very easily. read more

I was visiting family in Peq and was looking for some steaks to grill. Came into Pete's Meats and ended up buying two 18oz NY Strips. (Shop Local, folks!) I came on Yelp to say that they were hand down the best NY Strips I've ever had. The marbilization on these cuts the gentleman gave me were incredible. This gave the meats such an elevated amazing flavor. Cooked them using the reverse sear method and then finished them in a cast iron skillet. Sliced and served to everyone in my family, everyone loved the flavor and said it was the best steak they ever had. Love it here what a great find. From house made jerky, rubs, marinades, cuts of all types of meat to pre-prepped meals, sandwiches tacos and all the classic deli sides. Everything looks so clean and fresh. It's more expensive than like shoprite, but not as much as you'd expect from a high end butcher. I've tried the jerky, spicy chicken sandwich, Cuban sandwich, steak sandwich, chicken bowl, pasta salad and rice pudding. All PACKED with meat, comes with homemade chips and most of the time the sandwiches are so big I split them into two meals. read more

The definition of a hidden gem. Truthfully, I had no idea this place existed until I saw a video on Tik Tok of all places ! Convinced my coworkers to come here for Friday lunch so 9 of us enthusiastically trekked over with the promise of some good BBQ. This place is awesome. The inside is immaculate and they have tons of fresh meats, frozen meats, etc. Huge selection of lunch and dinner options for a moderate price. This place is SPECIAL. Backstory. I have spent the better part of the last 20 years as a Pescatarian with one caveat. I allow myself one "meat cheat" per year. Typically, I use my "meat cheat" on Christmas Eve. However, I didn't cash in this past Christmas Eve so I had one "meat cheat" banked which I decided to use today at Pete's. I'm so glad so did. In a nut shell, I think Pete's has converted me back into a full fledged carnivore! I ordered a Pastrami on rye. It's not your typical Jewish style boiled Pastrami. Not that there is anything wrong with that either. Pete's Pastrami is smoked to perfection without being too dry. Packed with complex flavors and just the right amount of bark on the edges. I honestly don't want to drink anything because I want to preserve the flavor in my mouth. FYI - Pete's main gig is that of an incredibly impressive butcher shop featuring some of the most beautiful cuts of prime meats that I have ever seen. I can't wait to go back. I was pleasantly surprised by the food from the grill. We tried a variety of things from the menu. I was happy to find the salmon and vegetables were fresh. We tried a few varieties of egg rolls from the deli case and heated them the next time for a fun dinner. We also loved the ribs, fries, and pita. I have to begin with how insanely delicious the Cubano sandwich is.. I could live off of them! I don't believe salads are really their thing but I only fault myself for ordering a side salad at a meat place. The twin lobster rolls were good but don't expect a crazy amount of lobster; rather it's a bit bread heavy for my taste but if you're looking for something light and tasty give it a try! I also tasted the chicken gyro which was actually really good considering its a bit simple but I'd much prefer a light simple dish over something too obscure. The meals come with chips which are good basic kettle chips .. and if you're having a makeshift tasting as we clearly did I recommend holding the chips on a couple things they come with plenty! We needed a place like this in the area! Pete is super friendly and accommodating. My husband and I tried the fish tacos and Pete let us pick what fish we wanted. They were delicious and very generous in portion. We also got an order of wings and these really stole the show for us. The wings were dynamite! This past week I was looking for a brisket flat to make on Hanukkah. The supermarkets had a few small and unimpressive ones and my internet search located Pete's Meats. I emailed to ask if he had the flats at around 8 pounds and they said yes and would put one aside for me to pick up about an hour later. Upon my arrival, I said to myself, how bad can a place be that has a meat cleaver for a door handle? Went in and this place is a meat paradise; filled with prime beef and real people who know their meats. After a 15 minute discussion about meats, prep methods and more, I left with my brisket in hand. Finally, Hanukkah arrived and I made the brisket the same way I have for the past 20 years but none have never come out as well. It was a great piece of meat and of course I'm a great chef, lol.
