The food here is decent. Came here for lunch. I started off with fried calamari for my appetizer. For my main I ordered the lunch special: matzah ball soup and pastrami on rye bread with fries. The calamari was fresh, but it could've been better sized. As for the Matzah soup it was very tasty. The pastrami on the rye bread was very delicious had no complaints. I wish they could've put more pastrami. They could've stacked that meat. I couldn't eat all my French fries because they were big and nicely portioned. They have good service and we were seated right away. Good place for a quick lunch date or a big group.

Can we start with the portion?! I mean my steak panini was my lunch and dinner and it was so good. The calamari was freshly made and tasted delicious. Hubby's pastrami sandwich was good too. I only tried a bite. Service was good. They are very attentive and nice. Big diner with lots of seating space.

Second time stopping at Park West while traveling thru NJ. Service was friendly, but slower than last time. My turkey burger was ok, but not great. Bun a bit dry. Subbed tater tots for fries, they were also ok, but not very crispy. I liked their Cole slaw. My friend had chicken tenders app & loved their sautéed garlic spinach. They have a massive menu so it's hard to decide. They also have a full bar. The desserts looked outrageous!

Beef Gyro - nothing on it with fries. This is EXACTLY how it was served. Does this look appetizing?

Upset this is the review because I frequent this diner, but it was a multitude of things that went wrong with today's visit. Let me set the stage that the dining room WAS NOT BUSY and had ~4 servers taking care of it. 1. We walked in and were seated. We were almost immediately greeted by our server for our drink order. When he came back with our drinks, he asked if we were ready to order. We told him we needed a little bit of time. He must've stopped back 2 more times not even 3 minutes after we told him the first time we needed more time. Slightly annoying. 2. When we were giving him our order, we weren't even done giving our full order and he was already walking away from our table. This came to be a theme whenever he came to our table. I also noticed it when he was at other tables as well. 3. The person I was with ordered a side of broccoli. As you can see from the photo, it's literally a whole head of steamed broccoli on a coffee saucer, sitting in a little bit of water (that wasn't even fully drained), and the broccoli wasn't even cut off the main stem. Would that have been too hard? She did order "a side of broccoli." We didn't know it was LITERALLY a side of broccoli. 4. My order was a beef gyro. I got it with the side greek salad (which was an option), and the waffle fries (also an option). My order that I RECEIVED was beef Gyro, in pita, with nothing on it, some waffle fries thrown on a plate, and a Greek salad that was completely dry, no dressing. He didn't even come with dressing. I looked at the Greek salad and said "this looks dry, is there no dressing on it?" He said "what kind of dressing would you like?" I said "well since it's a Greek salad, can you bring Greek salad dressing?" He said sure. When he came back with the dressing, I inquired about the beef gyro. I said there's nothing in the pita except for the beef gyro. He said "well it's not wrapped" I said "what does that have to do with having tomato or onion or anything inside? He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Annoyed was an understatement. It wasn't like I could chalk this up to him being extremely busy, and/or the kitchen might've screwed it up. The diner was dead, he didn't have a lot of other customers, and he was more concerned with sitting in the back booth being on his phone. If I was not an existing customer, I would never return. Let's get back to quality service, even when it's not busy.

Great atmosphere. And don't let the traditional front of the diner fool you. This place is like the Tardis. It's bigger on the inside. Plenty of old diner vibe, with a menu that doesn't stop. Italian, seafood, sandwiches, gourmet salads, breakfast, steaks. If you're on the highway don't drive by too fast. Pull in and fill your belly. I chose the corned beef Reuben. It came open faced and with a tasty side of fries. My wife is on a restricted diet, so she ordered a grilled chicken sandwich without the bread. They throw in the garden with it. She got sweet potato fries. We asked the waitress how they were prepared. She said they come greasy! What the heck, we can always dab the grease off, right? I told ya, it has old diner vibes. We got a side of Cole slaw and a good kosher pickle, too. The sandwich was tasty, the fries were crisp and delicious. The chicken was was juicy and tasted great, too.

Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap for pickup. This was so poorly wrapped that i couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. Not to mention it looked and tasted like they cooked the lettuce! Either that or they used the most wilted lettuce they could find. There was no ranch, but somehow the wrap was super liquidy. I would not suggest trying this at all.

I of course used Yelp to find a good diner on my drive from New Brunswick to Atlantic City. I found Broad Street located in Keyport not far from the Garden State Parkway. I sat at the counter and ordered a McCaffrey Wrap which comes with grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard. It was really good. The side of sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned just right. The staff were courteous and the service quick. There is a small parking lot that can accommodate about five cars. There was plenty of on street parking. The downtown area was nice and you can take a nice walk after dining here to the waterfront.

Place gets packed despite the many tables. Service was amazing, food was great (slightly higher prices than others, but the quality execution and quantity balanced it out). We had cornbread (very good), fries (was fine), chicken parm with pasta (we asked for vodka sauce which they accommodated for small charge), fried chicken (must have), churrasco steak breakfast and turkey club. No false notes that we could tell. Some standouts were mashed potatoes (really good), cornbread (toasted and slight sweet, with strawberry butter which was wild), whole wheat bread toasted (it was good I tell you) and fried chicken (it will haunt me in my hungry moments). Didn't think a diner would impact me as much, but they over delivered. Go, but make a reservation unless you want to wait.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.

They also tasted even better than they looked. For our brunch, we had gotten some chips and guacamole to start. For our entrees we shared a couple of plates: the body builder omelette with hash browns and a side of white toast, a side of beef sausage, and the French Toast (topped with Pineapple chutney with vanilla glaze and strawberries) with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. All of the food was presented beautifully and tasted even better, just like the Chai Latte. The portions were large considering the affordable cost, and it all came out in a timely manner. Aside from the atmosphere and food, the one thing that stood out here was the customer service. Our waiter (I think his name is Wil) was very accommodating and helpful. We had an issue with their machine when trying to pay and Wil handled it quickly and professionally. Even if we didn't have that issue, the entire customer experience was great, and you could tell from the faces of the other tables that they shared our experience. For all that, they get a well deserved 5/5. I would highly recommend checking out the West Side Diner if you want to try out a cozy breakfast/brunch spot that won't break the bank.

This is my second review of this establishment. In my initial review, I had issues with the burger…read morebeing overly soft, the fries being unseasoned and cold, and an unpleasant oil taste. However, this review is not about that experience. Let's start with the service. I placed my order with John, who was pleasant and easy to deal with. After speaking with the owner on Yelp, he suggested that some of my original issues may have been due to the timing and the fact that my order was delivered, which could have affected the quality. Taking that into account, I ordered the same item again. This time, the service was good, and I got home with the food piping hot. The issue I previously had with the burger does seem to have been caused by delivery time, as it was much better this time around. Unfortunately, the fries were just as disappointing. They were cold as soon as I opened the packaging, though at least they didn't have the old oil taste this time. Instead, it was very obvious they were frozen fries--confirmed by the presence of a plastic bag of frozen fries. They were again unseasoned, not even lightly salted, and somehow managed to be both cold and burnt at the same time. One thing that concerned me was the staffing. There were four employees present, but only two seemed to actually be working. John appeared to be leading things and taking orders, and there was someone cooking. One employee in a beanie seemed mostly idle, though I overheard something about deliveries, so I assume he may have been the delivery driver. Another employee, who looked around my age, didn't appear to be doing anything at all. That was a bit concerning. Overall, I updated my original rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. It was fine, but nothing impressive. If I were rating it out of 10, I'd give it a 4/10. The burger was good in terms of softness, but the onion rings and bacon lacked the crunch I was expecting. They were mostly soggy, though still an improvement compared to my first experience. The burger patty itself, without toppings, tasted dense and brick-like. If the fries had been good, I honestly would've rated this closer to a 7/10. However, I had to dock several points because I don't understand how fries can be both burnt and cold at the same time, nor how the quality managed to decline further between visits--from tasting like old oil to tasting unmistakably frozen and completely unseasoned. If I'm in the area, I might stop by for the burger alone, but even then I'd have to be in a very specific mood. The most disappointing part is that the owner personally encouraged me to give it another try. While one issue from my original visit was resolved, the fries somehow got worse. I know I'm ranting about the fries, but honestly--how do you mess up fries this badly?
