Westside Grill Diner - Diners Near Me - Paterson, New Jersey

What a great way to start your Saturday! Visiting a friend for the weekend in Jersey and she usually orders takeout from here and always enjoys. This time we sat in and it was a great experience! Fairly empty at around 1pm we were sat immediately. Super cute space. Decor is cute and chairs are comfy. Our waiter was great and attentive. Food was great as well. Had pancakes, sausage , eggs, toast, shrimp and grits. Everything was great. Even my iced latte hot the spot! Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

This place is such an experience. The interior is a bit small, but gives off a coziness rarely experienced in restaurants. It was very clean, with music perfectly paired to the already present atmosphere. The staff were some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. They all greeted us with a warm smile. We started off with two Chai Lattes: one with whole milk and one with almond milk. The presentation of these lattes was top tier; definitely worth the minor wait. They also tasted even better than they looked. For our brunch, we had gotten some chips and guacamole to start. For our entrees we shared a couple of plates: the body builder omelette with hash browns and a side of white toast, a side of beef sausage, and the French Toast (topped with Pineapple chutney with vanilla glaze and strawberries) with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. All of the food was presented beautifully and tasted even better, just like the Chai Latte. The portions were large considering the affordable cost, and it all came out in a timely manner. Aside from the atmosphere and food, the one thing that stood out here was the customer service. Our waiter (I think his name is Wil) was very accommodating and helpful. We had an issue with their machine when trying to pay and Wil handled it quickly and professionally. Even if we didn't have that issue, the entire customer experience was great, and you could tell from the faces of the other tables that they shared our experience. For all that, they get a well deserved 5/5. I would highly recommend checking out the West Side Diner if you want to try out a cozy breakfast/brunch spot that won't break the bank. read more

Wow what a pleasant surprise! This place will put a smile on your face! The ambience, cleanliness, service 1st class! 10 out of 10! I just happened to be getting my car repaired close by and was told to try this place. My lucky day! The French Toast is to die for. Wish I had taken a pic of it before I dove into it. Freshly squeezed orange juice, any coffee treat you like. Only drawback is they're not open for dinner, was told hopefully soon. So check it out, you won't be disappointed I promise! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

Lil gem up in paterson, delicious food and generous portion, found my new weekend diner place. Avocado toast was good according to the wife and will try it again. I ordered an make your own omelet as per the one I would have ordered "the meat lovers" in the menu is not part of the omelets in the menu but more like a pressed grilled plate if those mixed ingredients with eggs on top your choice, will try that next time. Coffee when asked to be served on to go cups even staying in for breakfast doesn't get the coffee designs in case you like taking those pics as well and keep in mind the chia latte mix they use contains 62 grams of sugar, so it taste very sweet, sugar less chia mix will be a good addition to their menu. Until next time to try another dish from the menu read more

Looks to be the first review since the remodeling. The waiter told me it's a new owner now. Let's start with ambiance first cause right off the bat - it's a whole few shades nicer than before. Nothing against the old look and feel but it's more welcoming and more natural light. Presentation of the food, counters, booth and the diner itself was clean and sharp Service itself was top notch. The waiter kept checking on me without interrupting me. They made it known that if you need anything we are right here. Prompt service - was seated as soon as I walked in at a booth. Order taken within minutes and thankfully it's a smaller menu than your average diner. Got my food within 8 minutes. Now for the food itself - amazing. Everything was seasoned. Home fries were crispy but tender. Eggs even tasted great. Beef sausage had a great snap albeit it being a bit on the greasier side. Got the waffles and it came out soft but crispy and flavorful. Overall - I love what they did with the spot and I'll def be back over and over again They are suppose to start a dinner service soon from 4-11 pm. Breakfast is from 5-3pm read more

The service and workers were very well mannered and respectful. Made sure we were good many times after receiving our food. Food was overall amazing. Once food was served, we received all the orders at the same time but one. As we were waiting for food, the music played was fit to all and many genres were played. The vibe and decor were amazing. Definitely a place to go to for a nice and chill vibe! read more

I rarely write reviews but I had to share this gem. This is by far one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. Will is an absolute artist with the cappuccino art and he has one of the best personalities in the world. Philippe made one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Everything in this establishment was so fresh. I can't wait to come back here and become one of their regulars. Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some great food and a beautiful experience. read more

OMG OMG OMG! From the ambiance to the beautiful plate and garnishes, I fell in love with this place. The servers treat you like family. The guy with the nice mustache made sure I was well served. Location isn't all great however once you sit down and eat you forget where you are. Love it read more

Place is nice inside.. But cook starts playing money.. dosnt change his gloves and flips my eggs with his hands and spatula.. Like what cook uses his hands to help flip eggs? Especially after playing with money.. I just left, I know for a fact he does a lot worst than that. I left even though I payed I was seriously upset about that.. Then they say I'll ask him to change his gloves lol.. But he already put his hands on my food.. What Will changing his gloves do at that point.. read more

Best breakfast place you will find. Pancakes and their Taylor ham egg and cheese is the bomb!

It's evident that they are serious about customer satisfaction. The service is prompt and courteous and they put love into every bit. The place is charming with an upscale feel. We'll be sure to go back for more of their excellent food. read more

I have to agree with Kris, this diner or luncheonette looks old and out of date. But not so out of date as to keep me away. The menu is extremely limited. Lots of breakfast items. A few burgers and sandwiches for lunch. Fast friendly service and good prices. I stopped in for breakfast - corned beef hash, eggs, home fries, toast, coffee. Came to just under $7.00 before the tip. A good breakfast - but I didn't like the home fries all that much. Seats about twenty at the counter; several booths on the opposite wall. Not that easy to spot. Red awning. Corner of Union Blvd and Preakness. read more

Was very very good and excellent hospitality reminds me of going to a dinner as a kid with my grandparents

Best breakfast EVER! I would request a breakfast platter from here as my last meal if I was on death row..

Food was great. But waitress was rude and seems to be some kind of drug addict. Better off ordering to go rather than eating there and having the waitress serve it to you with stands of her hair decorating your food. I've lived around the corner from this place for 20 years and can count the number of times I've eaten there on one hand. read more

I am only giving this place four stars because the food actually is great!! Best breakfast place around the area. Even better than going to a diner. The problem is the service. You wait a while to place your order and if its busy to get your food as well. Again the food is phenomenal!! read more

The food is great and trust me you will leave satisfied however the service has shifted from ok to worse in the last several months.
