    15. Gyro Wrap and chicken Gluten Free Marsala Style. Both 100% gf
    Amanda G.

As a gluten free person, this was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Servers were knowledgeable and they had a lot of options. A very typical diner experience otherwise but I really felt like I couldn't go wrong!

a little disappointed. i have been here multiple times with no issues. food quality used to be great as well as their service. a few of my friends and i came here tonight and we were left unsatisfied and unimpressed. my friend ordered a "healthy" chicken wrap which contained mushy peppers, asparagus, and sweaty mozzarella. the salad on the side was sad, along with dry lettuce and overripe pineapple. however, she did enjoy the long, crunchy, purple grapes on top which exploded with flavor in her mouth. my other friend ordered a Belgian waffle with strawberry filling, which was actually served on top (not filled), which looked like an artificial strawberry crime scene. she liked the waffle itself, however she couldn't really taste it due to the overpowering and overwhelming taste of the red 40 sauce on top. i am taking into consideration the fact that this is just diner food, but we have noticed their quality dropping compared to past purchases. my last friend ordered a classic BLT. she was mainly satisfied other than the fact that her sandwich was ten towers tall filled with an usual amount of lettuce and tomato in between two slices of very, very, thin bread. me myself, i ordered a chicken caesar wrap which i personally didn't have any complaints about, it wasn't exceptional, but it satisfied my cravings. the service was also slow tonight and a little off. they forgot two waters and the food came out at much different times and intervals. we have been coming here for years. we love this place, we really do, but tonight it was a boo. we're hoping this was just a one night occurrence. don't worry, we'll be back. or will we..?

Wayne Hills diner is gorgeous and the food is excellent. The diner to judge all other diners by.

This was my 1st time eating here. I stopped by because it was close to my location and the 4.7 star review was attractive. When I walked in I was greeted but when I was seated the waitress was snobby and rude. No smile and no eye contact. She dropped the menu on the table and walked away for at least 10 minutes. I saw another waitress coming towards me so I asked who was serving this table? The waitress for my table was standing behind me the entire time. She never provided a straw or refilled my drink. She walked past me several times only stopping once when she realized I was almost done. It was only then when she asked if I needed anything else. Of course I asked for the check. Prejudice and bigotry is a sickness. Being the only Black woman in the place and my hair was covered I could feel the stares. No one in that restaurant was indigenous to this land but me. It amazes me how immigrants come to America seeking love, wealth, freedoms and refuge from oppression in their own land BUT immediately know how to hate African Americans when they get here. And it's only because of the battles that African Americans fought, that other immigrants can come here and reap the benefits. Of course I'll never go back. And I'll be sure to tell my very wealthy family and friends not to eat there either. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the kind gentleman who met me when I walked in. Those stars are for him. Other than that, it's a huge zero!!0

From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. We were the only Asian group in the restaurant, and the host/manager made us feel genuinely welcome. Even though the wait was busy and around 40 minutes, he still found moments to chat with us and keep the mood light, which made the time pass quickly. Our server was absolutely wonderful. I didn't catch her name, but she was friendly, energetic, warm, and incredibly personable. When she learned we were visiting from China and had spent more time in places like Los Angeles before coming to New Jersey for the first time, she happily shared stories about the local area and made us feel right at home. Her kindness completely changed the feeling of a cold, rainy day. The food was outstanding. We finished everything, even though we were already full, because it was just that good. This is the kind of place where the food is satisfying, the portions are generous, and the experience feels real. I made sure to leave my tip directly for our server because she truly earned it. If there's ever an opportunity for recognition or promotion, I hope management knows what a gem they have on their team. My partner and I decided to pay Pompton Queen Diner a visit for dinner for the first time since last summer. I was greeted by the host, and despite how packed the diner was upon arrival, they'll take one's cell # and then text when the table is ready. The wait was never too long--about 15 minutes.  Their menu remains never-ending, and even the pickiest of eaters will find something on the menu to order. We decided on the Chicken Pot Pie accompanied by House Salad with Salami as well as Bronzino & Shrimp Francaise with Italian Sausage Soup.  The food was tasty, well seasoned, and arrived hot. Portions were large. We had a nice server, Randall, who was attentive and accommodating. The price was comparable to the area.  Another great dining experience!

Do you ever have an experience at a place so bad that it ruins the trajectory of your whole day?…read moreThat was my morning at Jackie Smalls. I don't give out one-stars on principle unless the food is inedible or something egregious happens but I feel in this case it is warranted. This is my third time at Jackie Smalls. My first, I thought the avo toast was great. Second time I got a very bland breakfast burrito. My third, today, I brought my infant son and decided to dine in. I asked for a high chair and once seated was told by my "waiter" that he could not take my order but I had to order at the front. First issue was this high chair. Nobody knew how to adjust the straps including me, and it was some minimal little aesthetic thing that looked like he could easily topple out of. This is important later. Anyways no big deal with the ordering, front guy was accommodating and let me order from my seat. I ordered the Smalls Scramble for me and French toast for my son with the syrup and raspberries on the side, no pistachios or whip. Food takes a good bit to come out, which is no biggie either. When it arrives, they set down the French toast plate with a knife (a knife knife not a butter knife) on it in front of my son. Ok not great but I hand them the knife back. Then I try the food. Honestly, I'm not sure what to say about the food but...yikes. The eggs were certainly not soft scrambled, and the toast did not look buttered, and the weak potatoes were somewhat like a thick flaccid potato chip drenched in truffle oil and, by the way, not more than a speck of salt on anything. It looked pretty but that was about it. The French toast was deep fried or air fried and it was just not good. Sorry, no other way to say it. So I go to ask for two things: salt, and to inquire as to whether the multi-grain toast has nuts since I have an allergy and it looked concerning. I keep having to go up to these counters and leave my baby unattended in his unstable high chair because nobody will come to me and keep making me get up. I had to ask like five people about the bread until someone pulled out a binder and started looking for allergens. Everyone was just pointing me to the next person and many seemed to simply not understand my question due to a language barrier. I get my salt, and this is some COARSE salt. So I couldn't even fix the seasoning. Not flaky, but like coarse and pebbly for pickling or seasoning steaks, not for food. While I'm up and bouncing from person to person I keep gesturing at my son and nobody will come to my table. In the meantime, he smushed the raspberries and spilled the syrup and I'm back and forth between my conversation and keeping my son in his chair. At the end, I just didn't trust these people's knowledge of anything and could not eat any of my food but brought it home for my husband. It's one thing to serve food that needs a bit of work, but you need to at least offer normal table salt for folks to fix it. It's another thing to have the majority of your staff not know about allergens or how to navigate your high chairs. Also that food needed more than a little bit of work. I will say though those pancakes did look good. I will not be posting pictures for this review because I don't want to mislead with the pretty plating.

It was very clean, with music perfectly paired to the already present atmosphere. The staff were some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. They all greeted us with a warm smile. We started off with two Chai Lattes: one with whole milk and one with almond milk. The presentation of these lattes was top tier; definitely worth the minor wait. They also tasted even better than they looked. For our brunch, we had gotten some chips and guacamole to start. For our entrees we shared a couple of plates: the body builder omelette with hash browns and a side of white toast, a side of beef sausage, and the French Toast (topped with Pineapple chutney with vanilla glaze and strawberries) with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. All of the food was presented beautifully and tasted even better, just like the Chai Latte. The portions were large considering the affordable cost, and it all came out in a timely manner. Aside from the atmosphere and food, the one thing that stood out here was the customer service. Our waiter (I think his name is Wil) was very accommodating and helpful. We had an issue with their machine when trying to pay and Wil handled it quickly and professionally.
