Such a cute breakfast and lunch spot. Recommend their iced coffees and smoothies. Sometimes they are a bit busy but they offer friendly and fast service even to go.

We loved Jackie Smalls. Wasn't sure what what we walking to in the strip mall. The name does not provide any hints. We sat down and were given basil water. So refreshing. Atmosphere is nice, and the place does get crowded (we saw a line form). This is probably not somewhere I'd take some kiddos, not the vibe but we saw sisters (around 8?) outside sharing tenders and fries. Food does take a little bit, but once delivered it's so nicely presented. Note you do order at the counter but there is someone who brings your food out. I was delighted with my gyro and my significant other ordered the chicken shawarma. Highly recommend, will go back.

Stumbled upon this place today and so happy I stopped. Warm welcome as walked in door. Service was amazing they have indoor seating and few tables on the outside. Order at counter and they bring to you. I ordered the gyro platter and was amazing. Hot and fresh. Great flavor and all. I requested fries nice and crispy and were definitely prepared right. Definitely recommend and will be there again soon.

Smaller place, but good food. Though a bit of a wait before we were able to get a table, our food came out quickly.

    Deliciousness.

Jackie's has expanded and it continues to be delicious and fresh. I've gone to the one in East Orange, and found this one on our way to the west side of NJ. Same awesome service, delicious latte, and food for everyone.

An excellent lunch! We ordered the Shawarma Bowl, the Freekeh Bowl, and a Grilled Veg. Sandwich. The bread was crispy on the outside and freshly baked and the bowls were surprisingly tasty. We sat outside on this nice autumn day and were treated to excellent friendly service and excellent lunch. Ill be back to see what's good for breakfast.

I came here awhile back for a yelp elite event and finally made it back with a friend for weekend brunch. First off weekends here are insane and it takes awhile to get a table. They do not take reservations. So this is a bit weird as there is no table service. You order at the register and your food is brought out to the table. So technically there is no need for tipping as you don't actually get full service. I ordered a beet cleanse juice and it was pretty good and a decent size for shy of $10. I ordered the lamb gyro which was huge however a huge pet peeve of mine is when they wrap and roll the waxed paper and foil into the sandwich. I had to completely unroll it to be able to eat the gyro without eating waxed paper or foil. That was extremely messy but still a good sandwich. For $13 it was a nice size but definitely should come with type of side. My friend ordered the tuna melt which 95% of it ended up on his plate as he took the first bite as the cheese was barely melted if at all. He said it was good but each bite more and more of it fell apart and was a struggle to eat like a normal sandwich. He ended up eating it with his fork. We ordered a fry to share and they needed salt which took a while for us to flag someone down for salt and pepper as they are not on the table. Also it was extremely tight fitting the tables are right on top of one another. I will say that the food is good just prepare for long waits and to be smushed and getting in and out of the tables is tight.

I came across this gem in Wayne, NJ. It's in a strip mall, not large, but the food and service are exceptional. The host staff were super friendly, accommodating, and were accurate with the wait times. The restaurant has exemplary service and I really enjoyed the presentation of every item. Even the water was presented in a nice carafe with mint leaves. Paying attention to the details made a big difference in the enjoyment of the meal. My Chai Tea Latte was very good and beautifully created. Even the cup was unique, as you'll see in the photo. The main selections were, as follows: Freekeh Bowl (Freekeh base, arugula, avocado, chicken kabob, grilled vegetables, chick peas, cherry tomato, and hummus). I cannot give enough kudos to this bowl. It was fresh, LARGE, filling, and every ingredient was an absolute delight to enjoy. This was the first time that I had "Freekeh." In case anyone is curious if it's better than rice, here you go: Yes, freekeh is generally considered more nutritious and healthier than rice. It boasts more fiber, protein, iron, and other minerals compared to both white and brown rice. Freekeh also tends to have a lower glycemic index, which can be beneficial for blood sugar control. The next item was the Avocado Toast (avo mash, roasted tomato, fried egg, feta, sourdough). The last item was Egg & Cheese. The buttery bread was incredible, as well as the generous amount of both egg and cheese. I am very glad, that I visited Jackie Smalls, and recommend it to every Yelper.

Yummy food, great ambiance. Chicken shawarma was tasty, as were the pastries. Server was attentive. Wish there were cute yummy food places like this where I live.

I didn't even make it out of the parking lot. I just took down a whole bag of fries and a chicken Shawarma in like seven minutes. I've been wanting to try this place for a year, but I usually go grocery shopping on Sunday so I always miss the opportunity to go. I will be grocery shopping on Saturday from now on so I can continue to get Jackie smalls.

Ask the Community - Jackie Smalls

Hello! Is your meat halal or kosher?

Hi! Our menu is not entirely halal, but our chicken kabob, lamb kabob & chicken shawarma is halal.

Does breakfast end at a particular time or can you order from that menu all day?

Our breakfast menu is available all day!

Any chance you will ever be open on Sunday ? I have heard great things about this place but work 6 days and it's virtually impossible for me to try it otherwise. Thanks

Hi Daniel! Unfortunately Sunday operations are not part of our business plan anytime soon. Perhaps you can try us for delivery via UberEats or DoorDash if your job is within proximity of our business! We’re sorry that our operating hours do not…

Are there any gluten free options?

Yep! I went when following a gluten and dairy free diet and was able to get one of their bowls! I customized it to not have cheese though.

I hadn't realized before visiting that it's a chain with locations in several states, including Florida. There's plenty of parking outside, and the restaurant itself is bright and nicely decorated with a modern farmhouse feel. When we arrived, we went to the front to ask for a table but had to wait behind a line of people who were paying their bills. Apparently, you can either pay at your table using a QR code or pay at the front before leaving. We used the QR code, which was convenient, but the setup at the front felt inefficient. We had to wait quite a while just to speak to the hostess even though the restaurant was about half empty and didn't seem particularly busy. Once seated, we noticed that the coffee cups already on our table were dirty. Our waiter, Nicholas, immediately offered to replace them with clean ones. Nicholas was pleasant, professional, and very accommodating throughout our meal and was definitely the highlight of our experience. He offered us coffee and left the pitcher at the table. It was around $4 and includes the pitcher, which I wish had been explained since we hadn't had a chance to look at the menu yet. The coffee itself was good, basic diner-style coffee. I would have preferred refrigerated cream or half-and-half to pour into it rather than the small individual creamers you typically get at a fast-food restaurant. For food, we ordered one of the summer special, an omelet, carrot cake pancakes, and the loaded potatoes. Everything was seasoned well. The summer special was mostly potatoes, and I would have preferred less potato and more steak and vegetables. When we mentioned it, Nicholas and the chef were very accommodating and brought us an extra side of steak, which we really appreciated. The carrot cake pancakes were good, but not particularly memorable. Surprisingly, the loaded potatoes with bacon and Parmesan cheese sauce were probably the most flavorful thing we ordered, although they're more of a side dish than a meal. Overall, the prices were lower than many other brunch spots in the area, and the location next to the outlets is very convenient. There were some things I liked, especially the service from Nicholas, but I don't think I would go out of my way to come back specifically for breakfast or brunch. It served its purpose that day, and Nicholas's kindness and attentiveness definitely made the experience better.

Always fantastic with meats cooked to utter perfection. We've also tried the yogurtlu doner with tomato sauce which is solid, but not my fav. Shepherds salad seems unassuming but is FANTASTIC. Hummus is mid-tier but passable. Adana Kebab is absolute perfection and a little spicy and delivers very well too. We also tried their onion kofte kebab special which I wasn't sure about at first since I'm not a huge fan of lamb that tastes like lamb but it grew on me fast -- a little sweet and sour, tangy, and extremely rich from the fattiness in the meatballs. Truly a perfect plate, though perhaps not everyone's cup of tea. The service is always attentive and not overbearing. The restaurant is massive, clean, and always has patrons -- very cute interior and lots of booth options (yay!) Desserts are solid though I feel they are a touch overpriced. I enjoyed the ice cream and the lava cake. Dervish has become a staple in our comfort food rotation.
