This cafe is so close to me and I drive by all the time but have never been. Well that changed last week! I stopped in on Tuesday morning after an appt on Rt 23 and it was busy! The wait took a few minutes since there was only one person working behind the counter, but he was friendly and working as fast as he could. I ordered the Cream and Bean which is basically a Creme Brûlée latte. I figured that kind of flavor profile would be best hot, but really wanted it iced and I was pleasantly surprised!

One heroic worker holding the line, staring into the void, still making coffee like a champion. Back then my go to was their coconut cold brew... which, thank God, is STILL on the menu. Do yourself a favor and try it. It got me through lockdown emotionally. And yes, I still went to coffee shops during lockdown, coffee was essential, don't argue with me. Fast forward to today and WOW. This place has absolutely blown up, in the best way. Every time I walk in now, there are people ordering, hanging out, working remotely, pretending they're writing novels, the whole vibe. Clearly they've got regulars, but the coolest part? The baristas still help you right away and don't make you feel like you interrupted their coffee cult meeting. Immediate love. No awkwardness. Honestly, between the decor, the people, the drinks, and how clean everything is, this place just gets it. It's warm, it's cool, it's consistent, and it somehow went from "COVID ghost town" to "community hub" without losing its soul. So no, it's not my everyday stop, but when I do come, I leave happier, caffeinated. They absolutely rock it.

My wife and I were in the area for a craft fair. So of course I was on Yelp looking for the perfect coffee shop! Cabana Coffee Company is right up my alley, extremely coffee focused! The perfect coffee shop for my wife and I has pour over for me and creative lattes for my wife. Cabana delivers that in a major way. They roast their own coffee and the baristas were polite and knowledgeable. I was tempted by their double dark roast or their hyper caffeinated El Chapo but the barista recommended their medium roast Legender for a first time customer. Glad he did, it was smooth and flavorful. My wife loved the foam on her chai tea latte. Plenty of comfortable seating, cozy and nicely decorated for the holiday season, and a clean bathroom rounded out a very pleasant experience!

It was my first time trying Cabana Coffee Company and safe to say I'm OBSESSED. Let's start off by someone who loves traveling just for a new coffee shop, this place was extremely welcoming. The barista Amanda assisted me with so much patience just about a couple of minutes before closing. I didn't know what to get and she recommended me to try the brown sugar cinnamon with vanilla. Safe to say today I'm back to get it again! Love the vibes, atmosphere, people, and coffee here. This is going to be my new go-to spot! :) read more

Ok, I retired from writing reviews but you know... I started this third-wave coffee journey after realizing I was mostly buying coffee from larger stores where the roast dates were usually two to three months old. One month old if I got lucky. And listen, there are some great third-wave coffee roasters on those shelves but the problem is freshness. At the time, I was deep into the pour-over coffee rabbit hole, and I kept passing this little coffee spot with a sign that basically said "Need more coffee? We roast it here," with arrows pointing down. And for some reason, I kept ignoring it. The sign wasn't fancy. It wasn't trying to be trendy. It didn't have the polished third-wave café aesthetic from the outside. It was just a simple roadside sign telling you exactly what mattered: they roast coffee here. Eventually I thought, "Wait a minute. If they're roasting coffee right here, why am I still buying bags from bigger stores with roast dates that are two to three months old?" So one day, I finally pulled in. Immediately - and I mean immediately - I realized I had completely judged this place wrong. This was a serious third-wave coffeehouse. And honestly, when you think about it, the sign is actually genius. A sinple sign that says "Need more coffee? We roast it here" is probably only going to attract people who actually care about proper coffee. Classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. Because now? I can't really get my coffee anywhere else. I've had some of the best coffees here. One year they had this Colombian Santa Maria light roast, high-elevation that totally changed my mind about Colombian coffees. I had always thought of Colombian coffees as more medium-roast, classic coffee profiles, but that one opened my eyes. Right now, they have this Fara Estate Nicaraguan light-medium roast that is absolutely delicious. They have a serious-looking pour-over setup with custom V60 holders and gooseneck kettle setup, so you can tell this is not just a place that sells coffee. This is a place that actually understands coffee. If you're the kind of person who checks roast dates, owns a V60, argues with yourself about grind size, or has ever fallen way too deep into the coffee rabbit hole, this place is worth stopping for. And if you're not that person yet, this might be the place that turns you into one. read more

I've been enjoying Juan (AKA Bruce's) roasts since the early KoffeeWagon days. Sumatra was a favorite, bourbon barrel, actually all of them. Juan introduced me to pour overs. Wonderful coffee spot with fantastic pour over at reasonable prices and large cups. I believe I spent $3.50 for an organic pour over. Definitely worth it and there are other organic bean offering there as well. Really great taste and if you want decaf it is Swiss water decaf processed not with chemicals like trichlorethylene which is a metal cleaner. Bruce has done a great job they roast their own can't say much more about this great coffee place on route 23. Worth it for me to take the ride. Everybody seems very happy here and very friendly people. read more

Some of the best coffee grounds around. I've bought from cabana a multitude of times and have always been impressed. Once I started buying their coffee grounds it got even better. I tried this ground of theirs called Mudd which is extra extra roasted, and it's amazing. Such a unique flavor and very fairly priced for a bag. I'll always be a customer here. read more

Excellent tasting coffee and they have organic beans which isn't overly common at many coffee shops. No drip coffee, because it's all freshly made to order via pour over. They roast their own beans, as well. Tried the organic Sumatra and was impressed. They have four reading chairs, a couple high tops, and a large 6 seater table. They sell bags of beans and a few miscellaneous coffee accessories. Def worth a visit. read more

At a speciality coffee house paying premium for a coffee drink you expect consistency and attention to detail. 1st time here, we were super impressed with the quality of the chocolate covered strawberry lattes ( barista even drizzled chocolate on bottom of lattes) we didn't mind spending the $$. However the 2nd time, Chai latte was better from a supermarket paid extra for oat milk AND the chocolate covered latte was like a collata from Dunkin and barista didn't even bother to drizzle the bottom of cup with chocolate... So not sure if we will ever come back considering there within the neighborhood... super disappointed.. read more

Stopped in too support local business after seeing a recent social media post. WOW! One of the smoothest containers of coffee I've had. The coffee is a pour over brew. What a great experience. I Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Katie. After being a little overwhelmed by the menu, She enthusiastically made a recommendation which was right on point. Amazing! This place has been recommended to me numerous times throughout the years so I'm happy that I finally got a chance to try it. The ambiance of a locally owned coffee shop shines through and those helping you make you feel like home. I had to knock off a star because the coffee in the latte I ordered was burnt, but the beans we took home were amazing. Nice spot. Pros: 1) They have comfy couches with cozy lighting and window(s). 2) The hot chocolate on a cold rainy day is excellent. 3) The Chocolate Brownie Bar (confection) and White Chocolate Blondie Bar (confection) were excellent with the chai latte, coffee, or hot chocolate. Cons: 1) They do not have sugar free pumps (syrup). Wish they had sugar free walnut or chocolate pumps. 2) They close really early at 4pm EST. Wish they stayed open until 7PM EST. read more

I came here in search of beans and was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. The two baristas working were friendly, informative and accommodating. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and changed it to cold just before she was going to prepare the milk and she happily accommodated me. The latte was so good, not to sweet and they make the pumpkin spice purée in house. read more

What a wonderful, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Their coffee is so delicious and fresh. All coffee beans are hand roasted by them. The flavor is exceptional. One of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. I loved sitting in the big arm chairs and looking out the window. If you need to get away and chill and have the perfect cup of coffee this is the place hands down. read more

I can't believe I've lived in Wayne for years and never knew of this place! First off the man at the counter is super friendly and the chai latte was delicious! The interior is very cozy with comfortable chairs and they play good music, definitely a great spot to work from "home". Best part is it's dog friendly and they offer puppacinos! 10/10 recommend I can't wait to go back and try some other drinks! I noticed they had maple flavor so I'm excited to try that! read more

The small coffee I paid a medium size for.... I always support local small coffee shops and Cabana Coffee is usually one of my go-to's. They have great coffee and atmosphere however after today I'm going to rethink about going to them. Today was the second incident where I asked for a certain size or certain coffee and they give me the wrong one and they don't acknowledge it and make it correct. Today I asked for a medium size latte with almond milk and a little cinnamon on top. They were busy which I understand but when my coffee came out, it was a small. I told the girl I asked for a medium and paid for a medium. Her response was: "I could change the cup but the medium is the same amount of expresso shots and just more milk." I looked at the time and was running a little late so I just said i'll just take the small. But in my head, I'm like, if I paid for medium, give me a medium. What's gets to me is that she didn't acknowledge she made a mistake and just fixed it. Another time I asked for hot coffee and they have me iced after I told them twice I wanted hot and still no acknowledgment. They do have great coffee and all but I don't want to keep paying more for something less. read more

If you're looking for a great little coffee shop, this is the place! A hidden gem on route 23 in Wayne. It's a very warm and welcoming coffee shop with a great vibe. The staff are also great and friendly! I personally love the coconut iced coffee. It tastes heavenly! I highly recommend this place to any coffee lover. Go check it out!!! read more

It all started with my passion for enjoying the best coffees from around the world. On a mission to find a commercial coffee roaster I came across a 17 year old Primo roaster located in New Hampshire so off I went and within two weeks I was perfecting my roasting skills. Our roasting is now done in our Franklin Lakes Coffee Lab. The roasting has been perfected and we are pleased to be able to bring our Coffee to Bergen County, New Jersey and to the rest of the country. On non-holidays, you usually have a choice between the soup or the salad of the day. You select your pot of tea from over 60 premium tea flavors. Today, I chose the "Paris" special tea, which had notes of vanilla, caramel, and bergamot. For the Mother's Day Queen's Tea, we had the broccoli and cheddar quiche, a pear, goat cheese, candied walnut, mixed green salad, scones, assorted mini sandwiches, and several mini desserts. Every course was fresh and excellent. The caramel scones are one of the best things I have ever eaten. They are served warm with clotted cream and lemon curd. The caramel is so goey and melts in your mouth. We brought some orange juice and prosecco to have mimosas with our tea. They have glassware in the back that you can request when making your reservation. The service is always top-notch. Holly is the best server! She is super sweet and always hardworking. At the entrance, there is a little gift shop with lots of cute vintage items, tea-themed trinkets, and some of the loose lea tea available in small bags. 5 Stars This coffee shop is an absolute gem! Their cold brew on tap is a standout--smooth, bold, and perfectly refreshing. The shop itself is super cute with a cozy vibe, and the staff is fantastic. One of the younger baristas handled a rude customer who cut in line with total grace and professionalism, which really impressed us. Their cappuccinos are also top-notch--definitely worth coming back for. The only minor drawback is the location right off a major highway, which can be a bit hectic.
