[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

We got the bolognese and it was outstanding. The wedge salad is just absolutely drowning in their homemade blue cheese, and thank god for that because I could drink it straight. The spicy mami cocktail was delicious, as was the chocolate martini.

I grew up shopping in high end butcher shops and they don't charge to cut the roast after customer just spend $75 to buy it! Lobster roll had very very little lobster meat in it and horrible tasting spices. Just terrible, threw it out after two bites. Frozen lamb chops were marinated in some horrible tasting spices. Couldn't eat them. Dog wouldn't eat them either! imagine. Be careful at this place, you can get taken very easily.

This is one of those places that reminds you why burgers became a thing in the first place…read more I ordered what looks like a very modest cheeseburger. No tower. No gimmicks. No "chef's interpretation." Just bun, beef, cheese. And somehow it absolutely delivered. The patty was smashed just right with crispy edges and a juicy center, and the cheese was properly melted like it actually respected the assignment. The bun held together the entire time, which already puts this place ahead of most burgers I have eaten in the last decade. No soggy collapse. No mid bite regret. Now let's talk fries. These fries are the kind that do not need explaining. Golden, crispy, slightly irregular as intended, and clearly fried by someone who knows exactly when to pull them. Add the dipping sauce and suddenly you are negotiating with yourself about whether to save some fries for later. You will not. This is comfort food done confidently. Not trying to be viral. Not chasing trends. Just quietly excellent food that makes you pause mid bite and think, "Yeah, this is it." If you are looking for * a burger that tastes like a burger * fries that disappear faster than planned * and a meal that leaves you full, happy, and slightly smug about your choice this place is it. I came hungry. I left impressed. I will absolutely be back, and next time I am ordering extra fries because I have learned my lesson. Highly recommend.

Wish I tried their shakes though. oh and the "chicken wings" were awesome! Truffle Honey Mustard was sooo good

Smash'N Pizza a great little upbeat neighborhood pizzeria on Union Blvd. In Totowa feels fun from the second you walk in. It's the kind of spot that's just as good for a casual slice as it is for a laid‑back burger with friends. The room is limited in size but buzzing, with bright red and black splashed across the walls, a few chairs and tables, and décor carefully planned so the whole space feels energetic and modern. Logos and graphics are scattered throughout, giving the restaurant a playful, branded vibe that makes it look and feel like a cool little Italian hangout rather than a typical slice joint. Pizza, which we shared as an appetizer is the star, with pies that come out hot, crisp, and flavorful, piled with fresh toppings if that's your choice, and a sauce that tastes like it was made that morning. As for me, I always prefer a plain cheese pie. Right alongside the pizza, the burgers were surprisingly fantastic too, juicy and well‑seasoned, and the menu branches out into plenty of other tempting choices to accomodate everyone's taste. I tried the double cheeseburger, along with fries and onion rings, and would certainly recommend giving it a try. Service and hospitality were on point, quick and friendly. And being greeted like a regular, even on my first visit, and checking in often without hovering was appreciated. The overall atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and relaxed, turning a quick lunch into the kind of experience people look forward to repeating. BTW: Smash'N Pizza is a BYOB and has off street free parking. Thank you to Roberto (Robert) and staff for a nice afternoon. We will certainly be back. 12/13/2025
