Solid brunch spot with happy vibes. Some friends and I came for brunch, and one of our gluten-free friends suggested this spot because it's such a vegan/vegetarian/GF-friendly spot. The menu is deep and it's easy to get lost in the pages of choices. At a friend's recommendation, I tried the short rib hash. It's a bed of crispy tater tots, blanketed with tender short ribs, two eggs (prepared however you'd like), and a drizzle of three different sauces: hollandaise, sriracha aioli, and a cheese sauce. This was rich and decadent and the first few bites were fantastic. As you can imagine, the underlying tater tots got a little soggy towards the end and all the sauces felt a tad rich to truly finish the whole thing. Service was all right, though it was interesting how order deliveries were divvied up. We had a main server who took care of most of our needs, but several others who dropped by to deliver drinks and still another to bus tables. In the mix, some of our drink orders got mixed up and only the people in our party who explicitly asked for waters got them. Inside, the space is brightly lit and attractive. There's a good amount of seating, but on a Sunday lunch hour there was a small wait so it might be worth calling ahead if you're expecting to arrive during a heavy mealtime or coming with a large party. Bite is located in a larger complex with plenty of parking, but since there are so many other eateries and cafes, things can get a little tight around weekend lunch or dinner hours.
Such a cute vibe, staff are incredible and the food and drinks are beyondddd. Every time I go I try to try something new. Everything is exceptional! Best matcha I've ever had (honey & lavender matcha with vanilla cold foam added). Ella our waitress is THE best! We love her!

This is a really fun spot for brunch! So many different fusions. Everyone can find something they like. The decor inside a like a cute pink spin on a diner. We got in easy mid morning on a Saturday and didn't have to wait. Service was good.
I really wish I had paid more attention to the reviews before coming here. At first, the restaurant seemed inviting--the decor was nice, and the space looked clean. My friend and I had brunch here over the weekend, but unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was $14 for a tiny portion and some crackers--not worth the price. Our lattes were good, probably the best thing we ordered. My omelette was just okay, nothing special. My friend's salmon, however, was ruined by a strange sauce--some kind of orange squash combination that just didn't work. Overall, the food was underwhelming at best, and while the staff seemed nice, the service was painfully slow. To top it off, they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill, which felt completely undeserved given the lackluster experience. This is exactly how you lose customers. I won't be coming back.
Visited for lunch with my niece. It wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. The restaurant has a very cute aesthetic and very Instagram worthy throughout the restaurant. The menu has a good variety of brunch and lunch. I had ordered the Mac and cheese with the bbq skillet. It was okay, the brisket was a little dry for my taste. The service was good and food was served quickly. I may give them another visit another day and this time to try their brunch menu.
I really wanted to like this cute place but it fell short on many levels. The decor is really cute with black and white theme and an open kitchen and the counter staff were very friendly. The chicken in the chicken shwarma was awful, very chewy, inedible. I could get one piece down. I was only able to eat the rice, hummus and pickled onions which were very tasty. My daughter ordered the squash sweet potato soup which was very thick. The flavor was good but the consistency was not soup, it was thicker than any bisque we've had. The Arnold Palmer drink was very good. The total was over $40 for one Arnold palmer, one soup, one chicken shwarma and one side of bread seemed steep for the quantity and quality. We would not return.

We asked the waitress, so kind and friendly btw, to help us confirm if the fryer is GF and dedicated to non gluten items. They had so many options that are GF noted on the menu from salad, buns, and pizza, etc. The male manager (or owner) kindly stopped by to let us know they were in a transition stage, and will soon be operating under gluten free fryers but are currently mixed with items that contain gluten. For our son with Celiac, this day did have a bit of a challenge for us without fries and some items he had in mind. However, the cauliflower crust pizza ended up being win, he loved it! Pizza was delicious. We also recommend their beverages-- juices were freshly made and the lattes were cozy and tasted great. Was NOT a fan of the short rib hash. It all became mush because it was soooo much saucey items. We would come here more often once they can keep this a consistent gluten free spot, safe for those who have Celiac and severe gluten allergies-- prioritizing the lack of cross contamination.
Let me start with a tad negative, but nothing major. 20% tip is included on each bill which is totally fine considering the food is delicious, though the wait staff is sadly lacking. I'm sure the mandatory 20% and the homemade "NoStarbucks" sign is because of all the HS brats invading after school who are clueless when it comes to any form of etiquette. There is a typo or two on the menu but hey, all is forgiven. And oh yeah, don't ask for butter for your waffles or pancakes, they don't need it and the butter is...well not sure what it is but it's definitely not butter. Now for all the glorious good and rating. Ambience is sleek and polished. There is a huge selection of funky drinks. And get those pancakes! They are made with a tad of a crunch and the blueberry compote is absolutely devine. The chicken & waffles...another hit. Perfectly cooked waffles with that fluffy crunch with seasoned deep fried chicken and yes, the Huevos Rancheros is also worth the calories. Heads up though. There are no pork option so the bacon and sausage are turkey only.
Very cute place to enjoy brunch. We arrived and were seated pretty quickly. Lots of options. We ended up getting three meals to share. Plain home style pancakes, brisket cubano, and the mac and cheese skillet. My fave was the cubano. Great portion and it came with fries. The slutty chai was just what I needed on a chilly morning. Beet juice was good too. I tried some of my sister's. Great service. Also got the wings to go and the birria tacos. The wings were good. Hubby didn't share the tacos but they looked amazing!
Cute place! Our waitress was awesome. Our receipt says her name is Fatirhah! The coolest. The iced lavender latte is my favorite thing here. We all enjoyed our food. I got the socal burrito and my friends got a harvest bowl and the essex. This place is a tad bit expensive so I don't think I'll be coming back here on the regular, but all very enjoyable.
Bite never fails! The pumpkin spice latte was good not overly sweet at all def could taste the caffeine in my opinion not to much of pumpkin. The pancakes are always a hit and delicious! I had the waffle sliders but it was too much for me the honey hot sauce def was too much but me but that's only because as I get older I can tolerate spicy less . Very filling though. My uncle said the steak omelette was delicious and fresh. Service was quick for a rainy Sunday afternoon. The inside is always beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, was told the fall drinks come out in a week or so can't wait to come back to get a latte or matcha! read more

First, I ordered avocado toast and specifically asked for it without cilantro. I even asked whether it would be possible to prepare it that way. Despite making my preference clear, the toast arrived with cilantro. When I asked for it to be corrected, He was told that all their chefs had New York experience. I found this comment completely irrelevant to the issue. Having experienced chefs does not excuse failing to follow a customer's straightforward request. When I mentioned that I am a chef myself, the comment seemed even more unnecessary. I simply wanted my toast without cilantro. If I had been told upfront that this modification was not possible, I could have chosen a different dish. Instead, my request was apparently not communicated properly to the kitchen or recorded on the ticket. That is a communication issue on the restaurant's side, not the customer's. Second, I ordered turkey bacon, but the first serving was excessively cooked, dry, and unpleasant. I requested a replacement, and to be fair, the second serving was juicy and delicious. I appreciate that they corrected this issue. Later, I asked for salt and another coffee. The salt arrived after I had already received the last bites of my meal. As I was finishing my coffee, I noticed what appeared to be residue or a cleanliness issue inside the cup. I would like to believe that the staff would not knowingly serve a cup in that condition, but it was still concerning and disappointing. The most unprofessional part of the experience, however, was the behavior I witnessed in what appeared to be a manager or chef-manager. After taking my plate, this person spoke to the kitchen staff and said, "Do it fucking your way." Hearing that kind of language in an open-kitchen environment was shocking. Customers can hear and see what happens in an open kitchen. If you cannot manage stress or communicate respectfully with your team, perhaps an open-kitchen setting is not the best place to demonstrate it. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What distinguishes a good establishment is how it responds to them. A simple acknowledgment, respectful communication, and attention to the customer's request would have made a significant difference. I am a chef myself, so I understand the pressure of a professional kitchen. That is precisely why I believe that technical experience means very little without communication, attention to detail, and emotional control. Thank you for the replacement turkey bacon, which was much better the second time. However, the overall experience fell short of the level of professionalism and hospitality I would expect from a restaurant. Good food and experienced chefs are not enough if basic customer requests, cleanliness, and professional conduct are overlooked. read more

Bite Cafe is getting better and better. The service at noon was excellent, the food a treat for the eye and taste buds, and the menu has something for everyone. The portions are generous and the menu is varied. If you want something simple like eggs and potatoes or something a little adventurous come to Bite Cafe in Fair Lawn. You won't be dissatisfied. read more

Please read. I usually enjoy the pistachio drink here. Served was really sweet. HOWEVER - OMG!! Why are the fries crazy fried? I went Friday 5/30 around 1:30pm to pick it up. I called in for burger and fries. I saw a photo of a burger with tomato and lettuce and I didn't have any. Is that the right way to make it? These fries were like chips- I think they forgot them in the fryer ...: :( sad Also I just got clapped by their stapler in their packaging bag. BRUH! Staple all the way pls! read more
Came here based on a recommendation and it did not disappoint because I would definitely come back here again to try other things on the menu. When you first enter there's a cute little sign! I ordered Chimichurri Steak Plate (chili honey Brussels sprouts, pesto zucchini noodles, jasmine rice and quinoa pilaf) which was delicious!!! and my friend ordered the Chickpea power bowl + grilled chicken and we ordered Mac & cheese bites to share. A group of us met at Bite after work to grab dinner. This was the perfect spot to meet up and enjoy a meal together. Friendly staff, cool vibe, and delicious food and drinks. There's a variety of options on their menu - with many gluten-free and vegan options. I started with a Chagacinno and I ordered a Harvest Bowl with grilled chicken for dinner. For our group of 4, gratuity was already included on the bill. It was easy to split the tab among us, and we were able to pay right at our table with our waiter. Highly recommend this cute eatery located at the Fairlawn Promenade! read more

What a cute place! I went on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get a table in less than 5 minutes. I immediately loved the decor and music that was playing overhead! I observed a few things that were a little off-putting but nothing major. I started with a French vanilla iced coffee. It wasn't my favorite at all. I probably should've sent it back but I stuck with it and sipped slowly. It was hard for me to decide on food because they have so many options! I noticed right away that they do not have any pork on the menu which I was okay with. Since I wanted breakfast and I'm no fan of turkey bacon, I opted for the chicken a waffles!! I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5! The chicken was seasoned and the waffles were fluffy and sweet. The portion was just enough for one person and priced a little higher than it should be been. I also had a side of decent breakfast potatoes. I would've rated them a little higher but my food did not come out pipping hot. I was seated close to the coffee bar and the area where the QA person checks the food before it's served. That area seemed to be the hang-out spot for the staff so it was a little awkward listening to their conversations. Yes, they do add 20% to your check and I get it. However, the service I received was basic. Maybe if they would pay the staff a decent hourly wage, they wouldn't feel the need to automatically charge customers 20%. I liked this place a lot! Cute chic vibe. Waitress was very nice. We were seated immediately at 2 on a Saturday. They have a big menu with lots of options, vegan options too. Only thing is, they have turkey bacon only and no regular bacon on the menu. All the staff were young women, and yes as other reviews mention wear clothes that show skin. I saw a waitress (not ours) walking around in a bare midriff top and a mini skirt. But I wasn't bothered by it at all. I had a lavender latte. It tasted good but didn't have as strong as a lavender flavor as I wanted. My friend's Philly cheese sandwich with peppers was very big and oozing with meat and cheese. I tasted it and it was very good but warning that you have to be in the mood for peppers and onions because there was a lot of that flavor powering through. I got the churro French toast. There was nothing churro about it. It's just good French toast. Yes it has cinnamon, but most French toast does. I wasn't a fan of the whipped cream on top. But I loved the way the toast was cooked. Crispy and fluffy and lots of berries on top. There was one drink with mango and coconut my friend ordered that said it has love in it. Yes love. We asked, and yea it's not an ingredient it's love! So the other dishes don't have love in? lol. That drink was a little watery actually. For the most part I thought all the food and drinks were made with love honestly. Great quality. I never knew this shopping plaza existed. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The interior is so cute for a girls brunch. Which is what we were there for. Large selection of hot drinks. I had never had a Rose latte. It was delicious. We had a child with us and the staff was so understanding. The food came out quickly and we all had rave reviews about our meal. I can't wait to bring my family to come enjoy the meal here. read more
Bite is an awesome addition to the Promenade! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is casual yet sophisticated. They have a ton of GF/V/VEG options which makes dining with friends super easy! Everything was delicious, we'll definitely be back! Only cons - the service was OK not amazing, just not as attentive as we would have preferred. They do automatically add 20% gratuity to all tabs. Not the biggest issue as we typically tip 20% anyways! read more
I absolutely love Bite! I've ordered takeout multiple times and their food is always fresh and delicious. They have many gluten-free and vegetarian options for me to choose from, including items like pizza and quesadillas. The food is flavored well and a favorite indulgence of mine. The staff are friendly and work efficiently to get your order ready during pick ups. I look forward to dining in at some point. read more

Parking lot. Weekends there are no reservations. I went around 2pm so i was able to be sitted right away. Nice location and decor. I ordered lavender mojito (mocktail) and my friend ordered immunity tea. I ordered fried chicken and waffles, which was delicious. My friend ordered chimichurri steak and eggs which she enjoyed and was a huge portion. Overall the food was delicious. read more

This place is super cute and the food is good! Beware that they do not serve pork so bacon and chorizo types of dishes is replaced with Turkey. I ordered the huevos rancheros - everything so was tasty but my sunny eggs were a touch under (the egg whites on top were not cooked so the clear sack slid off). Also, the turkey chorizo is a patty rather than crumbles so it was hard to cut and a little dense. But the flavors of all of the sauces were divine! My bf ordered the churros french toast - it was more like a dash of cinnamon but we really liked it because nothing was too sweet and they put tons of fruits on it! Latte was good and pretty but they didn't ask if we wanted any sweeteners in it and didn't bring us sugar or anything so we had to ask for it. read more

Convenient location at Fair Lawn with ample parking spaces. They have outdoor seating available too when the weather is nice. Came in to have some light eats and decided to get truffle fries and brisket tacos. The truffle fries was really good and nicely flavored. We enjoyed this order very much. The brisket was filling too especially with the avocado included and was a good shareable item on the menu. I'd like to try the shrimp tacos next time though. For drinks I tried their Cocoa Ruby which was coco and beets. It was something new for me and both flavors actually worked well with each other. Taste was mild though. Couldnt say I thoroughly enjoyed it but it was something I wanted to try on that visit. My husband wasnt to fond of the latte too. He felt it lacked some espresso. Overall the food was good and the interior is nicely decorated with a good amount of seating options however Bite might not be the best place for a good cup of nicely done latte. read more

I have a new favorite menu item: fish tacos. Very delicious even without the chipotle aioli and without the jalapeno. The filling looked disappointingly sparse, but they were VERY tasty, and I know that if they had added more slaw, it would have fallen out of the tacos anyway and made a mess. Love their cut up fruit bowl; very sweet. Love the caramel cookies. Addictive. Plan to order all three of these menu items again. BTW, this was a Grubhub delivery and the tacos arrived in great condition. read more

I'm excited about this place. It's one of the first spots that I'm close to that does a bang-up job on salads/warm bowls (as they call them). I make a really good salad any day. I'm talking dynamic, different ect. And it's hard to find places that don't just throw some lettuce and toppings into a bowl and call it. Bite has a handful of really nice descripted salads and I got to try the Harvest Bowl and I added chicken. Frik'nnnn YUM. My husband got the Chicken Torta sandwich which was very good, light and fluffy fresh ciabatta bread with a savory batch of ingredients inside. My son got the mac'n cheese app. WHOAA, it came loaded it up with cheese! He was eating through it like he never saw food before. My husband and I even snuck a few bites and had plenty to take home. The service/staff is also quite friendly. I can see myself frequenting here even as pickup. Naturally, I'm a little concerned if they'll last merely because they have SOOO much square footage they're paying for in overhead. But that's a good thing right? Very spacious restaurant. And, I mean, who am I kidding? They're THAT good where I believe they'll gain some traction and stick around for awhile. I can't wait to check them out for brunch! read more
