$15.75 hungry man (no mods - 2 eggs w/ bacon, sausage links, home fries, toast AND 3 pancakes AND COFFEE) $18.70 (sub home fries for 2 hash browns) $12.95 (florentine omelette w/ 3 pancakes (sub pancakes for french toast)) $27 NY strip steak (w/ potato & veggies, side soup or salad, & dessert) $3 soda $3.50 orange juice did my research with diners before settling on a place. i am SO GLAD i got to try this spot out. great portions, food and prices! the HUNGRYMAN combo is an amazing deal that includes coffee. the pancakes are great and better than a lot of places ive tried. If you substitute pancakes (3) out for french toast, it is only one piece. Not a big deal breaker as i am a big back and was full regardless. service was attentive. this is definitely on my recommended list. i want to come back to try their sandwiches, lunch/dinner specials.
Cute little pancake house / diner. Breakfast available all day. We opted for lunch today. I had one of the lunch specials which was crispy chicken cutlet sandwich with fresh mozzarella, arugula & roasted red peppers & fries, with house made balsamic dressing on the side. My husband had their Italiano fried chicken breast with marinara and melted mozzarella served open with French fries. Both sandwiches were very tasty & filling. (We had plenty to take with us) . Our waitress was very friendly & attentive. This was my 2nd time here and will definitely be back. Note: parking lot is small - but additional parking is across the street.
best breakfast i've had in north jersey. I ordered the socal bowl, it was delicious. This place can be packed but we didn't wait longer than 25 minutes to get seated. The staff is personal and fun. They will always fill up your coffee. Overall great experience, i will be back
The Stack/Peanut Butter Pancakes: These flapjacks were packed with peanut butter chips; they were so tasty I finished them in a "Jif"
Food was decent. Nothing really stood out to me. Eggs were regular pancakes were good. Service was good. We were able to get seated fairly quickly despite it being busy. The only downside was that it seems they were trying to rush me and my friend to eat and go . Ambiance seems to be pretty chill and decent.

It was def less than 10minutes. -Food: -grilled chicken sandwich: no grill marks nor accompanying grill flavor but juicy and decent amount of chicken. -philly cheesesteak: waitress said the meat was house-made. Very good. Served in soft, toasted bread. -classic gyro: a little oily. Good amount of meat. Could have used a bit more onion for flavor. -accompanying side fries: disappointed as they were pretty soaked in oil so I couldn't eat them -banana and chocolate chip pancakes: stack of 5. Soft but cooked through. Excellent! Really hit the spot! Overall, very good food in terms of flavor and portions and excellent service. Look forward to returning.
Quick service! Came around 11 on a Saturday morning and expected a line but we were seated right away. The restaurant has a huge seating area on both sides of the restaurant. They also offer outside seating. Some tables come with a clear barrier screening unless you are sitting in the middle of the room. Food I ordered: Pancakes and bacon: 6.5/10: their batter was underwhelming. It was more savory then sweet. Huge portions (5-6 pancakes) which is a plus! Hash Browns: 9/10; greasy but very tasty The food is very affordable and huge portions are given. Definitely come hungry!! Parking is a bit tricky though so beware.

Here we are. The fastest day off the week is here. It's Sunday and our new family Sunday routine is getting breakfast. Today's adventure brings us to "The Stack" officially Stack Pancake and Steak House. I call the order in and our orders usually aren't that simple since there's five of us and the woman says.... "Ok, give us five minutes". I actually even had to say.. "Wait, did you say five minutes?". Wow. Awesome. Throw on my shoes, make sure I have a mask and I'm already running out the door. I arrive there and there was a couple eating on the side on the picnic tables. Awesome view of normalcy. Being that I only live five blocks away, I arrived in three minutes. Owners were great. Offered me something to drink while I waited. As promised, two minutes later, our food was ready. That's right.... Five minutes was spot on. I ordered the Mexican omelette (jalapenos, cheddar, onions and side of salsa). I subbed French toast for the regular toast. My wife got the bacon and American cheese omelette. All three boys had Belgium waffles and sides for them consisted of an order of bacon, sausage and of course fries for PBIII (our youngest). Mexican omelette..... It was average. I've only been here one but barely remember it. It's basically a diner. Which obviously isn't a bad thing but you need to be mentally prepared for diner fare. French toast I was kind of let down with. I was actually excited about getting French toast but the feeling from the toast wasn't mutual. My wife said the bacon and cheese omelette was very bland. She opted with a side of pancakes and dismissed it as blase. I tried a piece of my son's Belgium waffle and that was pretty good. I'm thinking I should've got some bananas and strawberries and that would've been one hell of a waffle. The sausage was very good as well. Two good sized links and pretty tasty. Fries were basic fries. Bottom line is the service is excellent. Looking for a quick breakfast while staying locally? The Stack is a very good option. Reasonably priced and your basic breakfast fix. Now they have lunch and dinner, as well as steaks. I can't advise on that nor have I seen a review on their steak, so for now, stick with a nice waffle and a side of sausage. Throw some fresh fruit and whipped cream on that waffle and you got yourself a nice little breakfast.

Craving some breakfast so we tried STACK. Maxine our waitress was so attentive and funny. Wife had Tiramisu pancakes while I couldn't decide between the old fashioned French toast and the Tot Bowl so I got both. Plenty of food, came out fairly quick and the bill was so reasonable. I have eaten everything on the menu except the liver. I had breakfast there 3 times a week. I love the deep fried home fries with my breakfast. Fast service and reasonable prices. When you go, plenty of parking on site and across the street. read more

We're new to the area and have been trying different breakfast spots to see which one will become our go-to. This place will likely become just that. Breakfast food should be easy to make and a delight to eat, and I appreciate the consistency across both of our visits. A true pancake house, they let you substitute home fries for pancakes and let me tell you, that is the right choice! Fluffy, buttery goodness. Eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries... nothing fancy, but all very easy to mess up. We enjoyed every bite. We're also looking forward to coming back for dinner, it is, after all, also a steakhouse! Ample parking, festive for the season, cozy vibes, friendly staff, and good food. What more do you need? I also love their motto printed on the menus and staff shirts: "You deserve butter." read more

I got their roast Turkey thanksgiving special since original plans were scrapped due to a covid exposure. So I set out to get some takeout turkey. Overall reviews seemed good, so yeah, this seemed like a safe bet. Wrong. I have no idea what this gravy is, but it's filled with hard chunks of mystery meat. The whole thing tastes like nothing. A bite of the stuffing proved to be extremely sweet. Like sweeter than most desserts. The mashed potatoes were pretty decent. The green beans were unseasoned and dumped cold straight from a can. The cream of Turkey soup was just a congealed mess as if it was a condensed soup that wasn't thinned out. $30 for what is far worse than any dining hall version of a thanksgiving dinner. read more

A really great hidden gem that is a hole in the wall known by everyone in town. Great diner style food which you can eat at any time of the day, but I personally love going for breakfast. from pancakes to omelettes you get huge portions on huge platters! bacon is life lol read more

Stopped by for breakfast on New Years Day, we've never been here before but I'm always on the lookout for new places to try so thanks to YELP we ended up here. It was four of us and we waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. I was very impressed with the gentleman running the front because he didn't take names yet managed to remember who and how many people were in the party and seat accordingly... Now I would definitely need names and a list for that when there's a crowd like that. We ordered some coffee while looking over the menu and I just want to mention these were some of the smallest coffee cups I've ever been served. Would be great to have larger mugs... For breakfast three of us had the hungry man special that comes with 2 eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, toast, three pancakes and a coffee. Definitely not a bad deal for $11 and change. We also had an order of Pecan pancakes, sweet potato fries, and a side of corned beef hash. We all enjoyed our food and we were offered coffee refills promptly. Our server was very friendly as well. Really happy with our selection of Stacks and would definitely return! read more

So I'm a die hard Rutherford Pancake House lover. I've actually never been here and have lived in the area forever. Even though friends have told me to try it I always made the trip to Rutherford. Today was the day! I'm eating all my words. The food was fantastic. Service was just very casual and quick, no complaints though, it's a very homey place. She got the job done. I ordered the Mexican omelette and it came with the best home fries ever. I usually ask for them well done and I didn't even have to, they were perfect. Buttery, toasted and delicious. The omelette was fresh, great amount of cheese and the salsa it came with was great too. I liked that they have an option to substitute 3 pancakes for the home fries and toast, for the days you want a little something sweet with your eggs. My friend was happy with her hungry mans special too. She brought her daughter along and they were super accommodating. She even ran off when we were trying to put her jacket on and they lured her back with a free cookie! It was super sweet, everyone is really nice there. Parking is easy, the place is a great size. I'll definitely be back now that I know the quality of the food is so good. Especially for the home fries! read more

Steak? Can't tell you ... never ordered it here in 30 years nor seen anyone do so, BUT breakfast and lunch have always been great! Often packed weekend mornings with a long line, but we wait. Not only does the owner, Frank, and his staff remember you and treat you like family, the food is always tasty. No frills here. You get what you order and you enjoy it! There's a reason why Frank has loyal repeat customers and you are only shorting yourself if you haven't dined here yet! You want a hungry man breakfast for about $11.00, but don't want plain pancakes? Sure you can sub in blueberry or French toast! Might be an insignificant up charge of a dollar or two, but worth it! Good food, good people, and good business! Now that's happy dining for me! Parking lot available which often gets packed quickly, but you can park across the street in the other lots without worrying you will be towed. Tip: Too busy here? Head to Flapjax in Wallington and enjoy the same exact food! Same owners! PS: I personally witnessed Frank insist his chef remake the pancake batter when he forgot to add the buttermilk! Outdoor dining next to the Passaic River. Stopped in on a nice September morning for breakfast. Plenty of parking in the lot out front and a nice outdoor seating area in the back. Food was great as usual, I recommend the pancakes. Coffee is usually pretty good diner quality coffee but noting to write home about. I hate that they use plastic and foil to serve meals outside. We just had breakfast her and had the most amazing waitress. She was attentive quick and so respectful. We witnessed a customer belittle her because their wasn't enough cheese on the omelet. ????? This customer proceeded to complain to the manager and brought this amazing young lady to tears. Wth? Shout out to Thaya!!! You are awesome!!!! Thank you for having more class on your pinky finger than that woman had in her entire body. read more

Stack is a great place to come for breakfast or lunch. It feels a little like a ski lodge on the inside with all your favorite NJ diner specialties at really good prices. I drive past this place a lot and it is always packed on a weekend but we came on a Sunday around 2 and most of the morning rush had cleared out. We were seated right away and our waitress came right over to take our order. Our waitress was great had a lot of spunk, did what was right for the customer, and very attentive to our table. Food was also really good. I got a triple decker turkey club which comes with a large serving of fries. My bf got the steak eggs and pancakes. All the food tasted fresh and came out pretty quick. Prices are on par and actually pretty much cheaper than most diners in the area. Looking forward to trying Stack again sometime soon! read more

So this is my new jam - a straight-forward diner serving your classics and some of the best pancakes in the area. Plus, their prices are almost half of what I'd pay at other nearby diners. What's also cool about Stack is the look of the place - old-school, with dark wood ceiling beams, and other classic diner/steakhouse features. There are also booths in the back right of the diner, where you get a nice view of a small outdoor patio and the Passaic River. Now onto the meat of this review - the food. So far, I have not been disappointed. I'm a fan of their tuna melt, BLT, and breakfasts (the egg dishes and of course the various pancakes). My husband loves the spinach pie, which comes with a small salad, and the eggplant part sandwich (a.k.a. "the Italiano"). He and I always seem to get the same waitress, who is awesome, friendly, and remembers us. Then again, we've gone back to Stack enough times where we are recognizable at this point. Anyway, Stack is great and you should check it out. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but it was delicious. Service was fast, friendly, and accurate. Food was out before we finished our first coffee/tea. We both ordered the hungry man and portions were large. The pancakes were so fluffy. Prices are more than fair. If you love breakfast food give this spot a try. read more
