If you're expecting a typical dinner, think again. The tasting menu featured around 12 courses, and by course ten I was completely full--but somehow still excited for what was coming next. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, packed with flavor and very tasty. For me the standout of the night was the very first dish which was Vinnie's homemade mozzarella with tomatoes, which was so good that we even bought some fresh mozzarella to take home. The meatballs were also outstanding, and the steak and eggplant course was another highlight. After all that food, finishing with a cannoli just felt like the perfect ending. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, but the food is every bit as good as what you'd find at restaurants that cost a lot more. Live guitar music throughout the evening added to the experience created a nice vibe. My only suggestion would be maybe to turn it down a notch or two as it was a little hard to hear others at our table. Still a very nice touch though and all songs you would know. I always like it when a chef comes out of the kitchen, especially at a tasting menu, and Vinnie came out several times to chat with guests which was very nice. It just added a personal touch and showed how much pride goes into both the food and the overall experience and we got to hear his back story. This tasting menu is an incredible value and a great way to try dishes you might not normally order. Just remember to come hungry--and maybe skip lunch beforehand. If you can get a reservation for one of these tasting nights, don't hesitate.

This is another business I have spent some time ordering from during the shelter-in-place. They have adapted and worked as hard as possible to keep business-as-usually, even with some of the food shortages that are hitting the nation. One big bonus to me is how accommodating and friendly the staff is. They are always happy to see me (first name basis for all of us). They will make any order the way you want it if they have the provisions (and generally they do). They also crank the orders out pretty quickly considering items have to be prepared to order (no pre-sliced cold cuts, etc). Their provisions are exceptional (get some Fresh Mozzerella). If you have an issue with parking, you can get curbside pick-up. I generally like to park (even if I'm a block or two away) so that I can browse their market goods.

The ricotta on the sandwich was creamy and plentiful. The oil and oregano were perfect compliments. And I got a hunk of pizza gaina in honor of the upcoming holiday and it was better than my grandma's!! So sad I don't live closer to here. Interior is very basic and everything is made right in front of you.... fresh. Only downfall is that they are cash only. Which I used to understand, but now you can order online via food delivery apps, so the ability is obviously there to take other forms of payment. In an era of everything being electronic, including our paychecks, cash has gone from King to inconvenient when you need to use it. They cook the meat fresh on the grill and then you choose your toppings at the salad bar (olives, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc.). It's a bit pricier than other places, but the portion size is huge. The container felt HEAVY lol. It's just a shame it went to waste because I really didn't enjoy the food. I only finished about half of it before I tossed the rest. The white sauce was almost flavorless and was VERY watery. The chicken wasn't as well-seasoned. No distinct spices or aroma. Every bite left me with a very greasy and salty taste in my mouth. The side salad was just okay. I was disappointed. The only saving grace was the rice... it was fluffy and the best part of the whole platter. Not sure if I came on an off night or...? I did sample one of the pickles and it was delicious but I was in a little bit of a time crunch. I believe I met the owner of the shop today and he was really kind and helpful. He was able to point out what was made in house and what was ordered for the shore and from where it came from. They also have an online store where you can order some of these products. As of now, there are some items you can't get on the webpage that are only available in the store, I already told my husband I would love to return in the near future.
