This is easily top 3 of the best smash burgers I've ever had . Like another reviewer mentioned , there is a lot of pride associated with making this "fast food". You can practically taste the effort and care that goes into the food . The burger had great depth although I think it could've even gotten to another level with some thicker pickles. As for the shoe string fries , they were incredibly crunchy ,fresh and satisfying . Being able to play a game or ten of street fighter was also a treat ! Easy 5 star establishment . read more

What a cute fast food place! Plenty of table to sit inside. This place focuses on burgers and fries. You can choose from beef or chicken burgers and think or regular cut fries. The food was made to order and came out pretty quickly. The burgers are thin and served on a really good bun that was slightly sweet and not too "bready". I suggest getting a double patty if you are hungry. The fries can be ordered plain or with different toppings. The counter help was very friendly and patient while helping us navigate the menu on our first visit. I found this AMAZING Spot by chance. I have to say it was MAGNIFICENT! I ordered the Classic Buddy and I was blown away! I can't say enough; From the first bite the freshness of the bun stood out. Then came the pickled relish that exploded with flavor. Wow, just...WOW. I will travel farm and wide for a good burger. A colleague of mine has been raving about this new spot, and I had to give it a try when I was in the area. The interior is simply awesome. I love the industrial/farmhouse/rustic blend on their decor. The restaurant is SPOTLESS. Upon entering, I was greeted in a warm and friendly way and everything was explained to me. These guys know what they're good at, and clearly don't mess with developing other items that will detract away from their strengths. I ordered the classic buddy and fries (one for each of my family members and I), and man was it excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly, tasted absolutely fresh, and was SO flavorful. Sandwiched between two personal favorites of mine - Luigi's Meats and Mills Bakery - the pressure was on if BB were 'deserving' of their location and I'm happy to report... they are. The menu is hyper-focused... a patty (choice of veggie, beef, chicken), fries (a few options), and a handful of (soft) drinks. Those smashed patties? Legit. (Plenty of flavor all around, but it gets messy... keep the napkins close by.) Those (entirely too) salty and crispy and golden-hued potatoes? Seriously addictive. Incredibly friendly chap behind the counter (who was doing triple-duty... helping in the kitchen and cleaning up the tables as well). A small counter as well as a handful of tables to sit down (with some wild upcycled retro chairs and tables) as well as two arcade games (awesome!). This street/intersection can get pretty hectic - but you can usually snag a parking spot close by. With tip it was about $18 a person (for a damn decent amount of food). After three visits my fam are officially fans of Bun Buddies (even if that name is a bit kooky to say out loud, right?). read more

First time here. Staff were friendly and helpful. Menu is limited but does over some variety with beef, chicken and veggie patties. Chose the chicken burger which was delicious and loaded with toppings - no skimping here! Fries were plentiful! Thin, skin on cut. Another yummy burger spot in the area. There is a good amount of cleaning , restaurant is super clean, and the kitchen is sparkling as well (it's an open kitchen). When we got there we were greeted right away and given a walk through of everything on the menu. I love the small menu, quality over quantity. I got the special buddy. Cheddar cheese, tomato, iceberg lettuce, caramelized onions, homemade pickled relish and house secret sauce. Smash burger was seasoned, juicy , and not greasy. I really enjoyed the special sauce , tangy and sweet. The burger was a bit messy but overall I would get it again. I also love that they have shoestring fries (you don't see that often). This is the third time my husband and I have ordered from here. The first time the burgers were great, the second time they were so-so. This time it was horrible. At first I thought they forgot the burger and i got burnt cheddar on a bun with condiments. My husband then pointed out that was the burger patty. The owner is so kind and hospitable, and answered all the questions we had. The burger was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and flavors are well balanced. The fries were well salted and the homemade coleslaw was delicious, though I think the black pepper was quite strong. However, the owner did say that was the concept he was going for to compliment the cheese in the burger. The goal was definitely achieved, in my opinion. I recently moved to the area and have been looking for some good restaurants to check out, especially burger places. Many times restaurants will say a burger is a "smash burger" when really it's just a regular burger. Bun buddies delivers! The patties were so thin that they crisped up and you get a really nice crunch on some bites. I got the single special buddy and the shoestring fries. The special sauce was really tasty! Fries are a bit expensive but they give you enough to justify it, it feels like a whole large potato. My only complaint was that with the single, the lettuce and tomato kind of overpower the burger at times, and it started to fall apart near the end, so I'd definitely recommend getting the double. Because the patties are so thin, you don't have to worry about a double being too large. Also, the food comes out super fresh. It was so hot I had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down, which means that if you're delivering or picking up, it will probably still be great when you get home! The man who took my order (and who I assume from other reviews owns the place) always has such a warm smile on his face. You can really tell he enjoys it! Though my receipt had an order number on it, he didn't call it out and instead brought it straight to me. They've got some good seating and even a bar-like area where you can just watch them cook. A large party came in while I was eating and it was cool to watch them carry and flip 20 burgers at once! They've also got a few arcade machines if you need to keep a few kids entertained. read more

Finally, after their soft opening we had a chance to sit down and enjoy a bun buddy. Was greeted at the counter with a smile and an explanation of some of the things on the menu decided to go with the special buddy double of course with a side of fries. The burger was probably one of the best local burgers I have had in a long time. Just enough to fill you and the taste with the mix of onions and the rest of the toppings we're absolutely delicious. Yes, the burger was a little bit messy but that's expected. Make sure you use the half a piece of paper that it's wrapped in . Food came out fast even though the place was busy with people sitting and eating and enjoying and the to-go orders. Don't forget to try the retro video games definitely made me feel like a child again. Just looking at them. We were lucky enough to meet the owner. He took time out in between orders to explain his vision an inspiration to open this location. He's definitely a great individual with small town vibe and hopes he can radiate that throughout the community. If you live local or if you're coming from a distance, definitely give them a try.
