Food was terrible. I make this mistake every time I decide to give Sonic a chance. It tastes like they microwave the food. When I asked for an item they told me I could not order it at the restaurant and only can order it through the app. When I asked why and what's the difference if I order in store or on the app I was told they didn't have the option on the register to ring up the item. That's some BS sonic, do better. It should not matter if I am using the app or go to the drive thru all items should be available. They always have some of the workers walking around at night while others hustle working making the food, like staff accordingly. Great experience. Car hops don't seem to run here and mobile order didn't let me select my spot so I pulled into the drive thru. Not sure if this is normal or time of day but everything else was great. Smashburger was fantastic, tots and jalapeño bites were a hit. Coke with sweet cream was fantastic as well. The ratings for this place seem to be either very good or very bad. All I can tell you is, I loved it. The service was friendly and prompt, and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the garlic butter bacon cheeseburger, and the ingredients were well balanced and enjoyable. The fries and onion rings were perfectly crisp and tasty. After all these years Sonic actually pulled me because I wanted to try the Garlic Butter Bacon Cheeseburger. So I get my hands on it and you can smell that garlic hit you even before open the wrapping. I'm not talking garlic bread I'm talking vampire killing garlic cloud fogging your eyeballs here. And it is messy after the scoop of garlic butter starts to drip through the bun. I take a bite into it and I got the butter oozing out with diced onions, crispy bacon that all crunch in your mouth with a cheese infused beef patty. Went there in Oct 2022, food is always good, but depending how n the time you go, they can be really slow, I was the second one behind another car and it took about 10 mins to get my food order. Perhaps they have staffing issues. Also their packaging can be better. They put my hotdog at the bottom and the food got squished (refer to photos) Not a big deal, but it might be to some other people. We ordered a large tater tot, large onion ring, Honey BBQ Sauced Jump Popcorn Chicken combo and a Sonic Cheeseburger Combo. They completely forgot my burger. I went to their window and waited to be helped. I told them the situation and ordered again with them in person and still received a wrong order. Absolutely atrocious service with possibly the rudest employees in Jersey. I placed a mobile order and the app said to pull into a stall and enter the stall number. After close to 15 minutes of waiting I hit the button on the board and the person who answered told me I had to pick up my food thru drive thru because they wouldn't come outside. This is my favorite fast food joint by far. When they first opened, it even caused traffic on rt. 17 since the cars were lined up to get in since there really weren't any sonic around in jersey. Now that's slowed down a while ago, but I still come here when I crave their fantastic ice cream shakes and corn dogs. They have a lot of space for cars, so you can order in you bin and the kids on roller skaters bring your food. They are very friendly and quick. You can enjoy your food inside the car, or they also have the normal drive-thru. I like the chicken sandwich on toasted breads, jalapeno poppers and cheese fries. They are very cheap and provide good food for the price. Again though, my favorites are their corn dogs and milk shakes. Definitely check this location out. I came about an hour to close. I was running around all day with a few friends to get some errands done. We all agreed to come here for a bite to eat. I pulled into a stall and was told that the stalls were closed and to go through the drive thru. So that's what we did. The woman could not hear me through the speaker, I had to shout my order. We got our three orders overflowing in one small bag. We moved into one of the stalls to eat. So far a strange experience, but so far so good. I am starving. However, the food was absolute garbage. The fries were soggy and cold. The burgers were also cold as well. Corn dogs were okay, but were slimy. The Sprite must have been out of syrup, it tasted like club soda. What was even stranger was that they turned off all their lights at 11:45pm. They close at 12. Wouldn't you turn your lights off at 12 then? Decided on a whim to drive over from the city to take my wife out for a cheap (but fun!) Friday night date. Sonic is sonic, so the food was exactly what you expect it to be. My favorite drink of all time is the cherry limeade and she always gets the snickers blast. I also got the turtle pecan master blast to go. Now this place in particular wasn't very crowded at about 6 ok a Friday evening, but the first stall I pull into has a broken screen. I move over one and come to find out the credit card reader doesn't work either. If it were crowded the screen and technical issues definitely would've been a problem. Everything took a little longer than we waThere was this kid working, I believe his name was Jake. But this kid was doing it all--taking orders, inputting orders, delivering orders, sometimes all at once! He was killing it, but they should've gotten my man some skates. Whoever it was made $70+ in charges to my debit card. All they had to say about the ordeal, was to change my password and let my bank know. They are not willing to help fix the problem. Before contacting Sonic about this, I had already changed my password AND deleted my personal card info. The only thing left was a gift card with money still on it, and yet it was still used AFTER I changed it all. Stopped here for a quick bite on the way to a wedding yesterday. We went through the drive-thru and I have to say it was close to 15 minutes before we got our order, despite having only 1 car in front of us. What's worse is that all we ordered were 3 hot dogs and 2 sodas. That's it. The person taking the order couldn't get the concept that we wanted two dogs with mustard, one with ketchup. They kept changing the quantity or saying "you want one with ketchup & mustard and two with just mustard?" It took me saying it as if I were repeating it for a 4 year old to finally get the point across. The wait was horrendous, though. Someone came out to give us our sodas and to get our payment but then the car in front of us took off and we got to the window. No customer service, no one said "be right with you." Chili coney dog was placed on microwave so it came super hot but with disgusting texture, you are better off with the chili cheese hot dog at 7-11 for $1.79 instead of this one for $3.99. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the Chicago hot dog was a little better, still feels like it was on the microwave but not for long since they do not need to melt any cheese like in the coney.
