I'm sorry to see that the outlet store has been discontinued. I loved that store. I am on the Bon…read moreChef emailing list and did not get any notice that they were closing the outlet. So sorry to see it go--it was one of my go-to spots for impressive, unusual, but affordable gifts. I drove out there today and got a rude surprise to see it is no longer there. :(

The Bon Chef Outlet bills itself as a restaurant supply outlet, but it really has more than that…read more It's a little hard to find, and is only open on weekends (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, as of now), and sometimes on holidays, too. To get there, you have to find the building, and then drive around back, find an unmarked place to park, and climb a short but steep staircase to get in. It really is a warehouse: it has a concrete floor and there are roped-off areas that are used to store goods. But the area where they sell stuff has a lot in it: coffee urns, ceramic and metal containers, flatware, frying pans and cooking pots, wonderful glass serving pieces, pewter creamers, serving utensils, sizzle platters, keep-cold containers, and trays. They even have those containers that dispense dry cold cereal (which you see at the breakfast bar of chain motels). Sometimes there are cheese board sets, or cutting boards. What's available depends on when you visit. You can order whole sets of matched flatware, but they also have individual single utensils (around $0.50 per utensil). The have wonderful, showy glass serving dishes. You can see some of them on their website ( http://www.bonchef.com/ ). For under $20.00, there was a square platter (approx. 16"x16"), or a rectangluar one that was approx. 8"x24", or one that was approx. 12"x18". There were also glass bowls and other smaller pieces in the same patterns. I could see getting a couple of items as an impressive new home gift, without spending huge amounts of money. We got some serving utensils (slotted spoons and serving spoons) that we use all the time, and I couldn't resist one of the small glass items. If you're looking to outfit a kitchen, or for a kitchen-y sort of gift, it's worth checking out, though there are no guarantees. The folks minding the checkout told me that they'd been told there would be no more glass once it was all sold. But they also said management had been telling them that for a long time, and there were still a lot of glass items.

I've lived in this general area for 18 months and never knew this store existed! A closer…read moreinspection is that map apps have this incorrectly categorized as an electronics store. I bake quite a lot at home (my own bread, pizzas, focaccia, cakes, cookies, pastries etc) so this review is only from that perspective. This is a very well equipped kitchen store. It's targeted at commercial kitchens/restaurants but is open to the general public and there are many good items for the home kitchen. There's a great supply of Winco (everything), Cambro containers, and Fat Daddio aluminum baking tins. The only thing that I didn't see were Nordic Ware baking trays (but the Winco trays look nice and solid) and also didn't see any cast iron (which makes sense since for a commercial kitchen is way too heavy and unpractical). I walked the isles and saw so many things that I'd purchased over the last 12 months, but had made a trip down into the city to buy something or resort to ordering online when I could have shipped here instead! Love the range they had here and will definitely return for future baking and kitchen organization supplies.

Knew that there were lots of kitchen supply stores in and around LES. So wandered around seeing if stores had the doughnut cutter. Got referred to this place by another store. It was busy and I was able to find the doughnut cutter easily in their well organized shelves. Easy fast transaction with the friendly staff and will definitely be back instead of buying something on Amazon!

The aisles are really narrow and everywhere you look, you'll see merchandise from the floor to the ceiling. In some spots you'll need to suck in that gut to get through,.. this isn't a Williams and Sonoma at all. LOL There also aren't signs pointing out where things are and yes, there may not be prices on anything,.. LOL. Honestly they don't cater to the small time customers like me, but nonetheless their prices will definitely be better than at the previously mentioned merchant. For my visit, I knew what I wanted for my foray into making pizza dough, I needed a container to store my rising dough. I also needed a bunch of squeeze bottles so knew exactly what to ask for. I didn't need much interaction with staff, but I was able to find one staff member who was very helpful pointing me in the right direction for what I needed and finding the cover to the container I was going to buy. I was in and out quickly on a Saturday afternoon so I'd say if you know what you want and are ok with a little less than 5 star service for the price,.. you should be ok.
