Shake Shack has one of my favorite burgers ever, and Shake Shack Garden State Plaza did not disappoint! I ordered the Shack Stack (basically just a Shack Burger but with a fried mushroom on top), a double Shack Burger with pickles (my go-to), cheese fries (with cheese on the side), and a chocolate milkshake. It was my first time trying the Shack Stack and I am obsessed! The fried mushroom on top makes the burger taste even meatier and gives the burger a little more substance. It almost tasted like there were onion rings on top. The Shack Burger was perfect and loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and lots of cheese. The cheese fries were also awesome, and we got the cheese on the wide to keep things crispy. I also loved my chocolate milkshake, which was tasty and thick. The service was super friendly, and brought our meal right to our table, which I did not expect, especially since we ordered to-go. The inside was similarly very inviting and clean. This was SUCH a satisfying pit stop and I will definitely return.
This is incredibly embarrassing to admit - especially as a self-proclaimed burger lover - but I've never been to Shake Shack. At least, not until today, since my husband and I decided it was high time to make things right. There are three kiosks situated right at the front of the restaurant and these seem to be the main way to place an order, along with grabbing a numbered placard from the counter. You can still place an order at the register if you're paying cash (or craving real human connection), but I noticed workers aren't statically stationed by the register here; most are busy preparing food in the back. I actually liked the kiosk method of ordering, especially since it made it easy to order my burger just the way I wanted it. I'm told Shake Shack's gotten way more amenable to customization since their inception, and I found that to be true. I added an avocado to my Shack burger while my husband added an extra patty, and it was quick and easy to see the exact cost breakdown. The burgers themselves were good. In true smashed burger form, there were crispy edges that got a near bacon-like texture from the hot grill. That said, I fou This particular Shake Shack is located on the southeast corner of Westfield Garden mall (the side that faces Route 17), which can be both a good and bad thing. It's great on Sundays, when most of the mall is closed due to Bergen County blue laws and there's plenty of parking. On most Fridays and Saturdays, though, expect the crowds - both in the mall and in the parking lot. There are quite a few tables inside, and on super crowded days, there are a few 'indoor-outdoor' tables along the side of the restaurant (meaning technically outside the restaurant but still inside the mall) for spillover seating.
The story of this establishment is a classic American success story. What began as a small hot dog stand operating out of Madison Square Park in New York City in 2001 eventually grew into a gourmet fast-casual restaurant with more than 377 locations both domestically and internationally. Located at the corner of the East entry inside the Garden State Plaza mall, my partner and I decided on a quick lunch at Shake Shack after a hiatus of several years. Upon entering this modern and inviting interior with plenty of available tables both indoors and outdoors, their large menu displayed on the wall featured gourmet hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, crinkle-cut french fries, and milkshakes. We were greeted at the counter and decided on the Shroom Burger, Avocado Bacon Chicken, Fries, with root beer and water to wash them down. The burger and chicken were juicy, cooked to perfection, and flavorful. The fries were fresh, crispy, and served hot. The service was good, as one of them brought the food to our table fairly fast. The price was comparable to the area. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every patron felt welcomed and valued. We can recommend this place.
Pretty good - the mall location at the East entry sandwiched at the corner by Macy's, service was reasonably quick at 11, and while I couldn't order ahead of time before the restaurant was open to pick up after 11a, they had 3 kiosks to order at and not much of a line so I was #3 in line to get food once I ordered. Smokeshack was excellent, double patty. The avocado bacon burger was on sale this weekend, which was ok, but didn't wow me like the Smokeshack or Stack Shack. Will be back!
Food like any other Shake Shack, but, the best part about coming here is the fact that they're open on Sundays when the rest of the Westfield Mall isn't. Our family has visited this Shake Shack location on Sundays more times than I can count and it has always been relatively quiet, especially at opening at around 11-11:30 AM. Most of the customers on Sundays comprise of families though, so if you can't stand kids, this might not be the best place to go. There are plenty of tables inside and you can even sit outside within the mall. The employees here have always been very friendly and accommodating when we request for extra sauces or utensils. They definitely exemplify the typical Shake Shack employee customer service. To summarize, this is basically our go to Shake Shack, although it IS much, much busier on Fridays and Saturdays as you can imagine, but Sundays are bliss.
When we sometimes go to Shake Shack in Garden State Plaza mall, we always have a good experience between our accurate orders and service. If you dine in and pick up a table number. The server goes to you or you can choose to wait by the front counter. Plenty of seating in the area or around the mall. If you are a rewards member, you can scan your app.

We were at this shakes shack to order a take out order for dinner. Store wasn't busy, we were able to put our order in right away using the kiosk. It took them more than 10 minutes to have order ready, even though it was only a shack burger, a shack chicken and fries. I found the store clean and organized while waiting there. The food was excellent quality, had the signature Shake shack taste.

Plus, we've been on a burger-and-fries kick this summer It'd been years since my husband has had Shake Shack, and he's only had Shake Shack in the city and it wasn't the best experience for him (long wait time and what he says were lackluster vegetarian options). I was curious about what they have now, so we ordered to share and see what's up. Here's what we got: - 'Shroom burgers - This was my preference between the two. I was a fan of the cheese inside the breaded mushroom patty. - Veggie burger - He liked this one, saying the pickles were on point. - Fries - Can't go wrong with crinkle cut fries. Not bad. I would come back again if in the area and in the same circumstance of late night eats, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. A plus for this location is that within the mall it is close to the East Parking Lot Entrance, which makes it convenient to stop in to pick up a mobile order and then peace out.

Always love to come back for more shack burger. Juicy and tender patty. Bread is fluffy and buttery! Lots seatings. If not, thru out the mall, there are many lounge chairs.
This is a fast food rating. Chicken sandwich, burger, chicken tenders: great. The fries are lacking, dry. Next time I'll get a shake instead of a side.
PROS: This is an amazing Shake shack that I highly suggest coming to. Nice staff, food was great, good prices and menu variety, looks renovated, food came out fast, self checkout as well CONS: The tables weren't cleaned and the self checkout did not accept gift cards OVERALL: As long as you aren't that sanitary and don't have a gift card I highly suggest you come here and eat. - Very busy during Friday dinner at this GSP location--there are plenty of tables and seating, but it still fills up quickly; space is large and open, with some bigger communal tables that work well for groups - Service is consistently excellent here; staff is friendly, attentive, and always checks in after the food arrives to make sure everything is good or if we need anything else - We tried the new limited-time Korean menu (BOGO deal with code SPICYSWEET): while the flavors weren't quite my personal favorite (I tend to prefer their classic items), everything was cooked perfectly and still packed with flavor; burgers are made to order, the chicken comes out hot and crispy, the cheese fries are smothered in gooey sauce, and the shakes are cold, thick, and the perfect sweet treat to finish the meal read more
Yum,yum, yum. The food is always good, and the shroom shack burger is always the one I get. And the kiosk makes everything easier, and allows you to add your number and yours promos, so be sure to check that out! We did try the chicken nuggets, and they were spicy (In a good way)! As I am leaving a review for Shake Shack, I am wondering whether there is anything else that I can say about this place ^^ A casual burger place @ GS Mall. I have always frequented the Shake Shacks in the city literally ever since the very first one at Madison Square Garden. I would say the ambience matters since the GS Mall place is much better than the ones near Port Authority & midtown ones where it's packed, busy, & dirty. Like the cleanliness of GS Mall Shake Shack. We went there for lunch and it was yummy delicious. The burgers were juicy. Fries were crispy outside and soft inside. The cold drinks were refreshing to wash all the food down. Will go again when i am in the neighbourhood. read more

Pictures don't do this burger justice! So delicious! Cooked to perfection. I hate that they have crinkle fries, but they were surprisingly pretty decent. I would definitely recommend ordering ahead, simply because many people crowd around this location. Great lunch spot if you work in the mall! read more

Just had a easy breezy lunch at Shake Shack Garden State Plaza Mall location. Ordered the entire meal with their app, food is ready in less than 10 min. Ordered the Avocado Bacon burger, 'Shroom Burger, Original Crinkle Cut Fries, a vanilla chocolate shake to wash everything down. Terrible experience!! I did a web order 10 minutes before pickup. When I arrived they left my order wide open and exposed for anyone to take or eat if they wanted to. My order was the ONLY web pickup order that was like this. My food was cold. I was very disappointed and would NOT recommend anyone to come to this Shake Shack unless you want your food cold possibly contaminated and exposed to customers walking by. Absolutely terrible service. Don't waste your time. read more
Shake Shack never disappoints. It was my first time at this location and have always been to their NYC locations. This one is conveniently located in the Garden State Plaza mall. Service was prompt and efficient. I accidentally ordered the Shroom burger which is the Vegetarian option of the Shake stack (no meat) and I was happy with my mistake. It is a fried portobello mushroom filled with cheese. I eat meat and it was still delicious. read more

Similar to other Shake Shacks if you've been to one. Same menu, maybe slightly different prices with the occasional exclusive item. Lines can get pretty lengthy but they move rather quick. You can bypass the line altogether by ordering ahead online for pick up. Staff is very friendly and professional. My go to the the shroom or classic shack burger burger but when they have seasonal items I'll try them too. read more

TLDR: the new Korean-style chicken sandwich was ok, but the gochujang mayo served with the fries was delicious! Regular chicken sandwich was good and would order again Friday Lunch (1:00-1:30pm)Table for 2 ~~~~~FOOD~~~~~ *Korean-style Chicken Sandwich ($7.79) - very sticky from the glaze - not that spicy despite having gochujang *Chick'n Shack ($7.29) - chicken was nice and crispy - I asked for the sauce on the side so that the sandwich wouldn't get soggy; the buttermilk herb mayo was good and we also used it on our fries *Korean Gochujang Fries ($3.59) - gochujang mayo was very tasty! - fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside ~~~~~SERVICE~~~~~ - quick and friendly ~~~~~CLEANLINESS~~~~~ - hand sanitizer available at counter - employees have masks - utensils are prepackaged - not sure how often the tables are cleaned outside read more

The service was quick and friendly, and their COVID precautions were in place with limited capacity, masks required and employees wearing gloves. I've been to this location once or twice before. I'm giving it three starts because I went in expecting the type of experience i received- The food (for fast food) was good. Hot, crispy fries and made to order burgers. That being said, I was happy with my meal. The restaurant itself is busy, hectic, crowded and noisy. Again, I anticipated this; but it still isn't fun dining in an environment where you want to relax for a bit. We also had a family pretty much hover over us waiting for us to leave so they could take over our table. I will say, there was one employee who was sweeping up the floors and keeping things as clean as possible- he came up to my friend and me and asked if everything was going well and if we needed anything. After mentioning we needed a to-go box, he happily and politely got it for us. Thanks guy. It's the little things in life! read more
One of my favorite places for burgers; Shake Shack simply has a unique flavoring of their sauce in the burger that is irresistibly hard to pull away from. Shake Shack, believe it or not, was recommended as one of the healthier options of food while I was schooling in the city, which attracted me more to it. All meats are supposedly free from antibiotics and trans fats, the potatoes are organically grown, and their ingredients are generally fresh. My usual grab is the classic single Shack Burger ($5.59), cheese fries ($3.99), and a single cup of custard ($3.89). Sometimes, I get the shakes (malted, to make it thicker) rather than the custard. The single burger is surprisingly filling, especially with the fries, though it may look small. Never lets me down. read more
We ordered a hot chicken sandwich, a smokehouse burger, and fries for pick up. We had shake shack multiple times in the past at various locations and their food are usually good. I requested for the sauce that comes with the burger to be on the side but it was omitted completely from the order. Nonetheless, the meal today definitely hits the spot and we will be returning. read more

We came to Shake Shack for redemption after an underwhelming lunch. I initially thought Shake Shack was inside the mall and needed to take a long walk to the food court. It was actually at the entrance of the mall and totally accessible! The wait was brief for a table and food which was impressive for the Garden State Plaza!! We ordered a Chicken Sandwich and the Shack Burger! My only regret was not getting fries this time! The potato roll, ratio of fixings, and burnt edges of the beef make for a great style of burger! This was my first time trying the chicken sandwich and it won't be the last! I enjoyed the chicken's lighter batter and the fixings especially the pickles! I personally like the Shake Shack style so I will definitely return!! read more
