menus on the wall of a fast food restaurant
    Shawnie P.

White Castle has always been a place I wanted to check out for many reasons. The nostalgia of this place alone would have brought me here but seeing it referenced in movies and hearing about this place from people that grew up in New York and New Jersey told me it was a must try. I like the menu options. The hamburger sliders, chicken, sliders, fries, shakes, cola's, and now they offer new menu items like chicken rings and chicken wings. I ordered the burger sliders and chicken sliders and a fry and enjoyed all of it. Is it a little overhyped? Yes, but still worth checking out because the food is pretty good. Friendly service with a smile, which I always appreciate. The restaurant seemed kept up and clean with interesting decor of White Castle pictures from the early days. I also liked the little notes on the back of the burger and fry cartons. Cool place to check out whenever you get a chance.

The women's restroom sink is dirty we need a brand new sink.

Well I just went to the women's restroom I found the trash bin all fill up to the top this need a new trash bag and the women's restroom sink is dirty they need a brand new sink and the women's restroom floor need to be clean or probably new floor and for the door knob is kind of broken they need a new door in the women's restroom and this Women's restroom the worker should always be mentioning this women's restroom clean. And we need more Asian workers for this restaurant .

this location is selling old reheated burgers. it's disgusting. look at the hardened (freezer burned?) edges!

horrendous. lady did not understand order. had to be corrected no fewer than 3 times. price is up by at least a few dollars since last year for same items. but most importantly, they sold me old burgers that had been reheated very obviously. the burgers were hard and crumbly and *stiff around the edges*. there was a foul smell by the window and it isn't clear whether it was coming from inside or outside but it was a terrible combination of old oil and food gone bad.

    Crave Case 20 sliders!

We stopped here on our way home from the Snowflake Inn Jackson NH. Fast service! Food was great! Was packed perfectly!!

Always been a fan of White Castle and I give it four starts. It is my favorite fast food spot. Been eating White Castle since I was a kid and they have a special place in my heart and I guess my stomach. I have been to tons of White Castles throughout NY and NJ and this particular branch is very good. The place is very clean and the service is always 5 star, professional, polite and the order is always perfectly correct. I give them alot of credit for trying hard to keep up with customers ever changing expectations. They now have veggie options and the seasonal menu is always tasty and worth the experience. Give White Castle some love...

Ghost Pepper Slider with an onion ring

White Castle. For when your eyes are bigger than your stomach but you still want to eat 4 or 5 of something. For better or worse it's a change of pace (literally) from the typical fast food burger spots. Sometimes the service will be SLOW but other times it is passable. There are a number of different sliders to try but I stick to their signature steam-grilled beef sliders (they taste better than the name sounds). The Ghost Pepper cheese is not as spicy as the name implies, but it is quite tasty. I'm a fan of their sides as well. They have crinkle cut fries (standard), chicken rings (dope), clam strips (very rare), and onion rings (admittedly 'meh'). Don't be a savage, get yourself a side; maybe even put some inside your slider. You're welcome. During my high school days a friend and I decided it'd be a fun idea to split a Crave Case (30 sliders). This particular friend was deathly allergic to dairy so he opted for hamburgers while I went with cheese, 15 each. It took quite a lot of mental fortitude but we did it. By the end of it we were sick. I also had a volleyball game immediately after. I came pretty close to vomiting. Despite this, I still go back to White Castle every so often. Solid spot.

    Sliders + fries!

Nothing fancy, simple and filling! Classic and doesn't come with any vegetables. I'm comparing it to the frozen WC sliders from the supermarket, it does taste the same surprisingly! It's good to try and visit for our West coast visitors especially knowing that the first franchise in the East was in Newark!

Grew up have White Castle sliders but with many locations closing, their sliders have been harder o come by. This location is very much how I remember a White Castle to be. The seats, boards and decor is very much the same. The sliders and fries make nostalgic. They have introduced new items like the impossible meatless burger and other sandwiches but everything feels very "White Castle". The ventilation is very poor at this location and you will leave smelling like beef and oil even if you are there for a few second. Use their drive throw if you are taking out. They also deliver via all the food delivery services. The staff here is also friendly!

I've heard comparisons between Marty's patties and those of Five Guys, and I can see why. They're fresh rather than frozen, and they're thin enough to approximate a smashed burger with those occasional bits of char while still maintaining enough heft that you can taste the beef. Their build-your-own burger menus are also similar, with plenty of free toppings to choose from. But I would argue that Marty's offers a fuller range of toppings from diverse cheese options to more premium ones like fried eggs, bacon, and avocado. I tried two of their signature burgers, and while the Swiss mushroom dijon was a hit with my husband (he pointed out the visible mustard seeds in the dijon sauce), the bacon avocado was the clear winner in my book. It not only had bacon that was texturally perfect (crispy and densely packed atop the patty), but also picture-ready slices of avocado. For that to come out of a fast food restaurant kitchen within a matter of minutes? Color me impressed. The banana pudding is dynamite. I'm usually neither a fan of banana nor puddings because those things combined just sound like mush. But here, the pudding is more of a whipped, airy texture, and I believe it when the lid says 'made fresh' because there were chunks of banana nestled in every bite. I admit it might not be much to look at, but I was hooked after a single spoonful (I'm actually greedily scraping the bottom of the container as I type this review). The restaurant has a diminutive dining space (I counted four two-tops at most), but it feels super cozy and casual. I took my food to go and found nothing had deteriorated - in flavor, temperature, or texture - during my drive home because everything is well packaged. There's paid street parking available, but this area of Hackensack is pretty dense so you might have to circle around for a bit before finding a spot.

I tried the Double Cheeseburger, Mushroom Burger, Truffle Parmesan fries, and Poutine. Everything was great. The patties on the burgers were cooked perfectly and were flavorful. Everything in the burgers added something and I never felt like they were doing too much. The fries were nice and I enjoyed them both but I think I liked the Truffle Parmesan more--I'm a sucker for all things truffle. The poutine was surprisingly good too though. I wish the gravy were a little thicker but it was hot enough that it caused the cheese curds to get nice and melty. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.
