The place is narrow (I missed it both times I came here) but it's got a look and vibe happening... music cranking, album covers splattered all over the place. The menu is narrow (burgers and chicken and shakes) and they know what the heck they're doing... chicken is juicy and delicious, burgers are smashed and crispy and packed with flavor. (The shakes look amazing, but that's not my thing.) The staff - could not be any cooler. Pricing and portions - all more than fair. Parking - not that fair. We had the Jam Burger (house-made smoked bacon jam spread, caramelized onions , and jalapeño cheese popper) and the Bodega Burger (fried egg, sweet plantain , melted Jack Cheese, house-made garlic sauce, and crunchy red cabbage). The burgers were good but kind of pricey for what it was, especially since they were kind of small. It came out to almost $25 for the two burgers, and that doesn't even include fries. But it could also be because prices are usually jacked up in delivery apps. Whenever I'm in Garfield, I have to stop at Jam Burger. It's a must at this point! The Jam Burger itself is absolutely incredible. The beef patty is juicy and packed with flavor, topped with a jalapeño popper that's literally the size of the patty (yes, really!). I do not have the words. This place was above and beyond. It makes me want to go back to old places and remove stars. I got the jam burger. My wife got the veggie (impossible patty) burger. I also got the strawberry shortcake shake. The burger was fantastic. Patty was toasted, the jam burger was caramelized onions, jalapeno popper (house made), and bacon jam and it really worked. Honestly I don't really know how to separate out the tastes to say what made it work because the whole thing felt like more than the sum of its parts. My wife really likes her veggie burger as well and she is not normally an impossible burger person. Fries were really solid, very crispy, pretty great. The Strawberry Shortcake shake had a Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake pop in it. I wish I hadn't eaten it because now my stomach is uncomfortably full, but that does not change the fact that it was great. I just made an eyes and stomach mistake. Look, I'm still not used to the fact that restaurants in NJ don't generally give you water so I wanted a drink. Do not judge me. But it was great and now I think parts of me are clogging. It reminds me of that quote from Hunter S Thompson: "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! That's my jam. A good substitute to Shake Shack which is in the same price range. I ordered two burgers and two chicken sandwiches which arrived nice n toasty via delivery. everything was very tasty and the chicken was not over cooked at all. Egg was cooked perfectly for a to go order. I like how they serve the type of fries you get at bowling alleys with that crispy outside lol. The chicken fried chicken burger is served open and its loaded. The fried chicken patty is crisp, juicy and huge! Its NOT your ordinary chicken sandwich, and it tastes better than it looks. I'd call it their signature chicken fried chicken burger! The veggie burger is pretty epic and it melts in your mouth, it comes with onion, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes! *Drum rolls* the signature milkshakes are just drool worthy with the loaded rim and whipped cream are handcrafted to perfection! They use the best ingredients whether is icecream or syrup. We just couldn't get enough of the milkshakes! I'd highly recommend trying any of the flavors! stumbled onto this place after meeting the concession operator at a NJ Jackal baseball game. Turns out the concessionaire is an owner of this place and his staff recommended that my wife and I go there as we were returning back to New York City. Eager to explore, we made our way to Garfield and had a very memorable burger. The young staff was very helpful and delivered our smash burgers, fresh and hot with crispy fries. It was juicy but not greasy, the special sauce was delicious, and the addition of the sweet plantain was a added an interesting spin that paired well with the fattiness of the egg (add a little hot sauce for that sweet and spicy combo!) The only complaint was the egg wasn't runny (but some people may not want it that way). Also, selling sauce on the side kinda sucks, at least give 1 choice with an order. Will be the first and last time I visit here. This is the absolute WORST, milkshake I have ever had. I just ordered 5 milkshakes for my family. There is nothing shake about this milk. It's literally flavored milk, barely any ice cream and more then half of the cup was whipped cream. You can get a better shake at McDonald's for half the price. The best part was the STALE cereal that the put on the border when it's supposed to be Reese pieces. It's literally called a Reese shake with no Reese in it. My little girl Ella wanted to walk around and saw this little cute spot on across the street. Wow!! the spot was amazing! I had the Bodega Burger with some Sweet Potato Fries and my Ella had a Cheese Burger from the Kids Menu, she asked "Papi, is this a kids cheese burger" same size and quality! awesome guys! The crazy shakes is what got me in the door! They have about 5 signature shakes (10$ each) that are fun twists on classic flavors like strawberry cheesecake and Oreo. I ordered the black and white Oreo shake which didn't taste much like Oreos at all. It was more like a vanilla shake with chocolate drizzle down the side. The fried Oreo on top was a nice touch, and the best part of the shake imo. The fries are also delish ! Very crispy, dark golden brown type. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich and thought that the chicken was a bit thin, While I was hoping to like the place more, the location is on a main street so you have to find street parking. The restaurant itself is very small, and narrow. Seats about 5 tables of 2 people but basically on top of each other. Service was fast, food was served in about 10 min. Stumbled upon Jam Burger thanks to Yelp+Instagram. Eventually it grew into a bit of a stalking relationship for me, because for 2 weeks i kept seeing the posts and reviews about this place. The menu is small, but right to the point. There are 2 veggie burgers here, a chicken sandwhich, and a handfull of meat types. the black bean burger stayed together perfectly, and was very filling. the potatoe bun was nice and soft, and held everything in. I opted for the bodega toppings. my suggestion---fry the sweet plaintain more and cook the fried egg a litte less. otherwise the cabbage, egg, plaintain, cheese and sauce topped on the veggie burger was so damn good. i ate this so quick, i didnt even come up for air. the idaho fries were cooked perfectly. i got the chilli maple glaze sauce, altho this was good i dont think its meant for fries. a bit too sweet. ill be back for the portobello sandwhich for sure!! i might even cheat on my no chicken diet because that chicken combo looks to die for! ps parking sucks, and the place is very small--not good for groups! read more

So I ordered off Uber eats , what a great experience . To start the food was packaged nicely even the fancy milkshake ! Food still warm when I received it and I'm about 15-20 min away .
