The food was delicious. The people were very nice, and the decor was bright and cheery. You walked in and gave your order and then they called your number and you went and picked it up yourself.

My family of 4 dined in on New Year's Day. There is no parking lot, so we parked on the street. (There is a pharmacy across the street, so parking isnt really a concern.) We ordered the Slap N Tender combo, Mac N Cheese & the Triple Slap Burger with beef bacon. When we ordered, the place was empty, we were the only customers. The food was ready in about 15 minutes, not too bad. The burgers were hot, but the chicken tenders & fries were just warm. The food all tasted good, the tenders were flaky, as if they've been sitting out. Their lemonades are great and their cheese sauce is amazing with the fries. Sadly, the Mac n Cheese felt as if they just put the cheese sauce on overcooked pasta, kind of disappointing. However the interior of the joint is small and clean. There is no physical bathroom available in store, you have to request a key, leave the restaurant & go into another building to access it. (-1 star) Overall, the food is mostly good, lemonades are great, priced reasonably. I'd come back.

Slap Burger is my favorite burger joint and the best part is their late night hours. The customer service is excellent and fast. The burgers are amazing as well as the cheesy fries. The slap burger sauce is the best around. Highly recommend stopping in.

This place is pretty much like an upbeat trendy 50s/60s style restaurant with very minimal options of food to order. I feel the simplicity along with the upbeat vibes is what makes this place attractive to the eye, especially their name. The service was fast and efficient. The food came out relatively fast as well. Everything, seems to be made in house(homemade). The fries are quite tasty alone, although combined with the smash burger patties, cheese and slap sauce the meal is quite semi filling. I thought about ordering another item, yet it can get pretty busy. Instead, just decided to go on with my day. I probably will come back sometime to try out their chicken. Overall, I felt this is a pretty neat place if you are looking for something quick and fresh to enjoy! ( :

Great quality food. First time going in there last night And I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was cranking out orders. Please have patience with these folks as they are busy. It's worth the wait. I purchased their double cheeseburger it was juicy and cheesy. I took my time with this burger. I also bought their loaded chicken Mac and cheese Nashville spicy style. Phew lawwwd. I can still taste it. I will definitely go back. Next time I'll sit inside and eat there.

I have to say this is one of the best smash burgers I've ever had. The beef was juicy and flavorful, their slap sauce is delicious at $8.50 for a double is a bit pricey compared to comparable places but after you've had two you won't think to much about it anymore. Their fried chicken looks amazing as well and will try that next time

***3 1/2 stars*** The name definitely grabs your attention. I stumbled across a recent positive review of this establishment on Friday morning, and since it's less than 10 minutes from my home, decided to give it a shot for lunch. I'm not THAT familiar with this area but knew that this might as well have been Clifton; the border with Paterson is literally yards away, and this area in my experience is a little rundown but pretty safe compared to other neighborhoods. It's also fairly easy to get to off 46, though there are a few busy intersections that require some patience. I parked in the CVS parking lot across the street; the crosswalk nearby IS a little rough - it hasn't been painted in ages and the walk/don't walk signal is impossible to see when it's sunny so I just crossed my fingers and relied on the actual traffic lights instead. I'm still here to write this review, so my strategy was successful but I'd be hyper vigilant crossing the street. It's a pretty small interior; I'm sure they rely heavily on take-out orders, but there were a few tables and also a countertop running along the wall to the left with stool seating. It's pretty much the same color/decorating scheme as a lot of burger-centric fast-food establishments, with a reliance on white/red (similar to Checkers). I was greeted warmly by the guy at the counter (everyone was very hospitable and pleasant to me throughout the experience) and only had to wait maybe 20 seconds to give my order. I went with a double plain burger, a side of fries and banana pudding. The burger is very solid for the genre - it's similar to a Smashburger product though not QUITE as good as that. I thought the edges were a little dry/charred, but I could see that being a positive for some people. Most of the burger was juicy and flavorful. I don't have a lot of experience with halal burgers so I don't know the appropriate comps for that but it was decent for fast-food, and maybe even slightly above average. The fries had some nice seasoning to them (the guy brought ketchup over but it wasn't needed) but some of them were too soggy for me - I'm more of a crispy fry connoisseur. The banana pudding was interesting - it's NOT a standard dessert option really anywhere, and the only place I've had a significant sample size of it is a literal banana pudding establishment in Jersey City (Baonanas, which is the gold standard for me). It was good, but had some areas for improvement. It was a little too light/mousse-y for me, if that makes sense - I personally prefer a banana pudding that's a bit denser. The taste of the actual pudding was excellent, and I really enjoyed the soft nilla wafer inclusion, which was interspersed throughout the cup. That's an area where I think they're superior to Baonanas, which uses crunchy nilla wafers, and only one small one on top, if memory serves. The actual bananas were the weak link. They were super tasteless and seemed to be in a specific, lower layer of the cup. I would have mixed them in more because I didn't even realize they were there at first. To their credit, the staff went out of their way to confirm that I wanted the pudding served with the rest of my meal, instead of being kept refrigerated for a few extra minutes - nice touch. The prices are fantastic too, which I rarely get to say in this day and age. The whole meal cost less than $20 and included a side and dessert. I was particularly blown away by the side of fries being $2 or $3 - and it was a decent portion to boot. I'm in Little Falls, so it's tough to justify a trip all the way over here when I have a slightly better product at Smashburger, but this IS definitely cheaper than that. It's still a recommend, and I would have zero issue stopping by again if I were in the neighborhood - the big selling point to me was the service, the great intangible.

Best halal burger on the planet and a great price. This place gets packed!! You can tell so many people love the food here. There is limited seating with a counter on the left and about three tables on the right, so you might not be able to sit down and eat there. The fries portion is what surprised me the most. I thought they would give half the size of the fries for the amount of money you pay (like $3) and they gave as you can see an entire container. It was amazing. The burger is so good and the service is fast. I will be back. Love that it is halal.

of Large Cheese Fries Smash Single Burger I expect my fries to be served in the container the burger came in for the price

They won't be there for long 1- no parking. Parking is a hassle had to park around the corner a block away just to pick up my food 2- food is way over priced . Paid $10 for a double burger the burger was extra small very thin meat .,. They deceive you by using thick bread If I am paying 10 for a burger then it needs to be worth it 3- $5 for a small cup of fries again very overpriced The service is mid the guys in the back should at least acknowledge customers and say hi if they are not really doing anything did not feel welcoming Honest review respectfully just go to shake shack or habit where it's convenient and you actually receive what you pay for

We ordered a whole range of things including chicken kebab, chicken gyro, tahini cauliflower,…read morelabneh, and hummus. Everything was delicious, but I'll leave the food writing to the Yelpers with more sophisticated palates than I. (Actually, I take that back--the fresh-baked pita was amazing and I would eat it with/for every meal if I could.) The real reason I wanted to leave a review the service, which went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that Al Basha takeout has a wonderfully efficient order-number-based system for managing the hundreds of orders they get on a daily basis. But if, say, the person who placed the order sent you to pick up the food with the wrong order number, you're going to struggle, and that's not the restaurant's fault. With that prelude and without getting into the details, we'll just say there was a user error issue with my order that led to a mix-up and a very late pick-up. Everyone from the Al Basha staff with whom I interacted could not have handled it any better. They were very apologetic, not because they did anything wrong (to be clear, they didn't), but because they were disappointed our meal hadn't gone well and wanted to fix that. The top priority of the manager with whom I dealt was making sure that my wife--it was Mothers' Day--got the best meal possible, and made sure to send me home with fresh bread and a treat for the moms. It was true hospitality, and greatly appreciated. TLDR version: great food, excellent service, out-of-this-world pita, and make darned sure you have the right order number.

The chicken kebab was dry and the shawarma was a bit too sour for my liking (not sure if they squeezed lemon on it or something). The kofta was okay but nothing spectacular. The filet mignon, was a major let down. My server didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, which is medium rare for my family. It came back well done. He said everyone usually prefers it to be well done, but I think that's a mistake that shouldn't be made and preference should always be asked, especially with steak. We asked for it to be swapped, and it still came back well done. When we let them know again, they brought it back a little on the rare side, which is fine for my family, but had it been another family, not so sure. I'm sure they have hundreds of orders for the char grilled meets, so I'm a little confused on why the technique has not already been established My favorite dish had to be the makanik - which is pan seared lamb sausages finished with sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey flavor but these sausages didn't have that. I didn't taste much of the pomegranate molasses. The arugula & beet salad would've been good if the pomegranate molasses vinaigrette was less sweet. The stuffed grape leaves were also a bit too sour. The lemon was just taking over the entire flavor profile. I didn't really taste the tomato or parsley. The falafel platter was good but nothing different than other falafels that I've had. The mint lemonade was so refreshing. Almost everyone in the restaurant had one and I understand why. The mint is not overpowering I had high expectations because I've seen this place on instagram but I'm afraid they were not met. Service was good, but the food definitely needs some work. There's valet parking, which i recommend because it's hard to find street parking

I am not an expert of Turkish food, but I am very familiar with cheese pide (think Turkish pizza)…read more My family are allium-free vegetarians and the cheese pide fits the bill. We moved and it was finally time to try to find our new go-to place for our pide fix and out of the 10+ restaurants in the area that also serve pide... I chose this one. This place is conveniently located on a very central and busy street. It's mostly street parking (good luck) though they do have 2 dedicated spaces in front if you're lucky. It's a cozy place with maybe 4 tables when you walk in - all were full when we got there around 1 pm on a Monday that happened to be a federal holiday - and we were told that there were more seats around the corner. They built an addition - you will be briefly exposed to the outdoors for a few steps - and it's so much more roomier and brighter with more (and larger) tables. It's climate controlled as well. There was only one man manning the front and everyone else is in the kitchen so expect some wait if it's busy and especially if you're in the separate room, but it honestly wasn't that bad for us. We were all given menus (the two adults AND my two young kids) and given sufficient time to peruse. The menu is fairly simple: they specialize in pide and lahmacun. There's a small salad section and beverages but no dessert. Their pide is different from what I'm used to; they have a super long version that is at least 2 feet long (don't quote that; I didn't bring my tape measure) and a round one that is likely around 12 inches in diameter. I focused on the cheese pide section and the drinks and ordered: Kaşarli Pide (mozzarella pide) - this was for my daughter. It is LONG. I'd venture to say it could even be 2-1/2 feet long as the ends were longer than the board it was on. The dough for this is stretched thin so it comes out almost like boat shaped flatbread with an equally thin, but adequate layer of cheese. It's crisp with a chew and is positively delightful. It says mozzarella, but the cheese used in pide always seems to be more and wonderfully three dimensional. Yuvarlak Kaşarli Yumurtali Pide (2 egg and cheese round pide) - I actually wanted the cheese with tomato long pide but I was also intrigued by a circular one so he added in some sliced tomatoes in this as well! We weren't sure how to eat it as the eggs were still mostly raw but we ended up breaking it up and spreading it everywhere and just cutting it like a pizza. It was AMAZING. The dough on this is thicker than the long pide but not very thick either. Not as crispy but does have crispy edges. The combination I got from this was perfection. I can't pinpoint it but it's definitely juicier - whether that be grease, tomato juices, the egg, or all the above - and that made it nice. Very nice. Ayran - we always order ayran when we get pide. This place doesn't make their own, sadly, but it was nice. It's essentially a salty yogurt drink and still hit the spot. Şalgam (fermented turnip juice) - this is completely new to us. I got this because I noticed that almost every Turkish restaurant in the area also offered this as a beverage and adventurous me got curious. They don't make their own so it's bottled and they only have the spicy version (which is the default). This thing is STRONG. It's got an earthy taste to it like beets (but it's mostly made of purple carrots for color and turnips) but it packs a punch like pickle juice and V8. Salty, spicy, earthy, intense... deep flavors. And I LOVED it at first sip. I chugged the first third. It actually reset my stomach enough that I ate more pide, haha. BUT definitely an acquired taste. My husband thought it was okay and let me have most of it. This drink surprisingly contains wheat, so avoid if there's an allergy. Note: my youngest child has multiple food allergies including to wheat and eggs. They don't have a gluten free alternative, unfortunately. There's a sign saying no outside food allowed, but we brought him his pizza and he was perfectly content with that. We never managed to ask the man if it was okay since he was in and out fast, but he didn't question us when he caught a glimpse of the Pyrex. The pide both came with their own pizza cutter wheel for convenience. They also typically come with pickles on the side but we opted out because their pickles contain garlic. I'm supposed to be trying other pide places to give everyone a fair chance, but I've fallen in love with this place. Even my husband who mostly eats to survive... well, he said it was good (which is huge compared to his usual "it's okay"s). They have good service, the pides are stupendous, it's clean (antibacterial wet wipes at every table), single restroom is tidy, and they introduced me to şalgam. I'm thrilled Pide 28 was my first foray into Turkish food in NJ and am looking forward to trying all the cheese pides on their menu in due time.

We arrived on a Saturday the place was absolutely packed but we were seated within about 5 minutes. We were seated right near the smokers and it was so cool to watch them prepare each dish. The presentation here is phenomenal as is the quality of all the meat here. A fresh salad with oil was brought complimentary to the table and it was delicious. We ordered the Buffalo smoked chicken wings and Baba-Ghanoj for appetizers. The chicken wings were so tender that as you picked them up the meat literally fell off the bone! The sauce was subtle but had a nice Buffalo kick at the end. The baba-ghanoj was served cold and was perfect with a little sprinkle of salt. The fresh pitas paired perfectly with it. I'm glad I did my research on this spot as everyone recommended the fresh mint lemonade. Wow amazing and refreshing I love that it came out as a slushy like consistency. I could easily drink them all day and they're probably amazing to eat outside in the warmer months and enjoy. We each ordered the meat platters in 1lb portions which are served with fresh smoked rice that is so good and filling. I wanted the beef shank but sadly they were out and ordered the smoked beef short rib. They served everything on a platter for us which the presentation I must say is outstanding . My boyfriend ordered the smoked brisket and it was so tender and flavorful he kept saying "it's terrible you won't like it because he didn't want to share it at all LOL". We had no room for dessert but I cannot wait to return for our next dinner date night! I would definitely give it 4/5 stars. Nothing was terrible the only complaints I had is once we were seated and our order was taken our server asked if we want appetizers first which we said yes and everything came out at once. Which is fine not terrible just our table was packed and hard to eat. Additionally once our food came out it was hard to get anyone's attention for more drinks but it was no too much of an issue that it ruined the night as they were definitely way too busy and seemed to be short staffed. I definitely want to return and check out the rest of their menu. I highly recommend making the trip to Kanoon!

I tried the Jubani after the staff described it as a delicious light-roasted coffee packed with caffeine, but in reality, it tasted like bland cardamom water with absolutely no coffee flavor or body. Most of what we ordered felt stale and old. The only thing worth eating was the bubble dessert with cheese because they actually toast it. We tried both the pistachio milk cake and the pistachio dream cake, and neither was impressive. The khattafi in the pistachio dream was the biggest letdown; it was so stale and bland I can't believe they actually put it out to sell when it was clearly weeks if not months old. The basboosa was also a disappointment, as it was a very small square of semolina cake for almost $5. Overall, It is not a good place for coffee or desserts, so if you do go, stick strictly to the Adeni chai.
