I ordered from here two times. First time just a small combo. It was pretty good. So I decided to order again. However the second time I ordered a 12 piece family meal and added clam strips. The chicken was soggy and had no crisp to it. The onion rings have no real onions in it and is 90% filler and batter. Same goes for the clam strips. The French fries are ok but still didn't have crisp. I ended up throwing away the onion rings and clam strips as I couldn't taste any onion or clams. Lastly the Cole slaw is all watered down mayo...ended up throwing that away too. I won't be ordering from this place again as the quality is inconsistent. However it may be different if you eat there in person vs delivery. I may give dining in a try if I'm ever in the area. read more

Don't be put off by outer appearances. It's a hole-in-the-wall located in a tiny strip mall next to a tattoo and nail joint. But the fried chicken is delicious! I've ordered and picked up from here plenty of times, and it's always been a positive experience. The owner and workers are friendly and efficient, and the food comes out piping hot and fresh. They've got all the COVID safety measures in place for when you pick up - masks, social distancing (one customer in at a time). The last time we picked up, a gentleman was kind enough to bring our order out to the car for us after we had paid. Like the name implies, they're known for their chicken. My Non and I love it. If you're going to order anything, get the fried chicken. They have various bundle deals if you're feeding a clan or you can order a la carte, and they honor coupons (since my Non always likes to save them from the weekly flier). This place is highly regarded by many. Some call it the best fried chicken in New Jersey. That will set you up with some very high expectations. Is it the best fried chicken I've ever had? Probably not, but it's pretty good. It's seasoned well and moist. I also have to get fried pickles everywhere it's offered, which means I got them here. Pretty good also. I can only speak to my Jersey Fries aka crinkles cheese gravy, heavy pepper me. They were delicious, plentiful, and ready within minutes. Traffic was steady and the bird looked and smelled delicious. Plenty of side options even chips. The tattoo parlor next door has been issued credit so they pop in and out between ink jobs for energy. Small, hole in the wall fried chicken place. Decor is very simple. The place is basically just a kitchen, counter and two tables for customers. Definitely best for delivery or take out. Their fried chicken is really excellent but I get the idea that you really shouldn't deviate too far from that. I ordered buffalo wings and they were just regular wings with a couple of packets of Trappey's Red Devil hot sauce on the side. The quality of the chicken was really excellent but the packets of hot sauce were a disappointment. I guess I set my expectations too high when I thought the wings would be mixed/cooked in a nice house-made hot sauce. Oh well. I would still definitely come back here next time I'm craving fried chicken. This place is a MUCH better alternative to chain fried chicken places like KFC or Popeyes. read more

Just had lunch here, and was pretty disappointed. When i order fried chicken I usually expect it to have some flavor. Also ordered some chicken wings to share, and totally not worth the visit. How do you serve wings with no sauce? Also it's such a small store front, I would expect it to be much cleaner. You can see the dirt looks caked on the bottom of the table. If you want fresh fried chicken this is NOT the place to go. The chicken wings didn't even look like wings they were deformed. The batter look like they batter the chicken then froze them. The bones are broken and chicken was bruised. Every piece was hard dry and salty. The fries also taste frozen if you get them ask for salt and ketchup to hide the taste. The Food Network lied and the fact that they reviewed this and named it one of the best chicken makes me question who tried it. Go for the chicken and only the chicken. Lightly fried and tasty, without the extra layer of carb batter that you find on KFC/Popeyes. I would rate their chicken above KFC but below Korean Fried Chicken (e.g. BonChon, Peck Peck). We wait for the coupons that come in the mailer or Valpack before ordering. A well known spot in fair lawn and very delicious chicken! They do things a little bit different than your typically food service place. Like dressing comes in the packets and you can buy pints of Ben and Jerry's I've cream. But the food is good and the people that work there are good people. Cheese fries are my favorite!! read more

Very disappointed. I've been going here for years. First I must say the workers are very nice. Next the chicken was so dry it was hard to eat. Also tased like burned grease. There was skin missing off many pieces of chicken. I know times are hard for business now. But the size of the chicken pieces were terrible. The damn wing was smaller than a buffalo wing. I got a large order of the corn nuggets. There was a large amount and that made me happy. But then when I tasted them they tasted like the same old grease. There was hardly any corn in the nuggets. The chicken pieces are on the smaller side and the batter was overcooked/slightly burnt. The fries were your standard crinkle fries. Definitely add salt or whatever seasoning you prefer before you eat them. The fried raviolis were ok, a bit too much black pepper/spicy in my and my kid's opinion. 3.5 stars. Delicious fried chicken - just perfectly cooked, moist without being greasy, flavorful and fresh. Ribs - a bit lacking. Kind of tough, not very flavorful, weak sauce. I wouldn't recommend them. Knish - yes, a strange choice, but I saw it and got a craving. It was pretty good, but I'm fairly certain they sell identical ones in the frozen food section at the supermarket. Delivery - earlier than estimated, food arrived hot and accurate. My biggest hesitation was the guy on the phone, but I'm going to go ahead and assume it was his first night - and his first telephone call on his first night. I didn't know it was possible to screw up fried chicken, but these people managed to find a way. This chicken is terrible, sloppy and yet somehow greasy despite barely having any coating or crunch. It's like greasy rotisserie chicken. Anyone that considers this fried, let alone remotely good, is clearly incapable of critiquing food.
