Served with a side of onions marinated with cilantro and citrus; gave a delicious bite. My dining partner ordered the paella. The seafood was perfectly cooked and flavored. Crab, shrimp, conch, octopus, squid with creamy cheese. Served with a side of shrimp ceviche in onions and cilantro. It t was savory and she didn't want to leave a bite. She described it as one of the best she has had. I ordered the tacu tacu with steak and the smokiness of the creamy rice and beans under that seasoned skirt steak just burst on my tongue. On the plus side, the food was fairly good. We had a mix of Peruvian and sushi and everyone enjoyed the meal. The servers were also friendly. However the service was really slow, especially considering it wasn't all that busy. The reason I'd probably not go back though is that an 18% gratuity was pre-added (and we only had a party of 5), but there was then also the suggested gratuity on the bottom where I ended up checking and adding an additional 20%. My first experience with Blaze on Fire was picking up a takeout order. I had ordered their half chicken with chaufa over the phone. They said it would be ready in 25 minutes and it was ready for pickup when they said it would be. This might not seem like a big deal, but my wife is Peruvian, and apparently it's very common for Peruvian places to have a delay in order. There have been times I've ordered from other Peruvian restaurants and waited an extra hour for pickup. The food for takeout was great. My wife said it was weird the chaufa had so much egg in it, and i found it had a bit too much ginger myself, but it was good otherwise. The chicken also had a great charcoal flavor, so i decided we'd go back to dine-in for dinner. We went back for dinner, and were seated quickly. The menus are all on tablets, which i hate. But service was friendly. I also liked that I have the option of tap water, since many other Peruvian restaurants only offer bottled water. We ordered the Blaze Grill, which comes with skirt steak, two grilled pork chops, Peruvian kabobs (antichuchos), half rotisserie chicken, sausage, and your choice of two sides. We also added a side of rachi to the mixed grill. Like many other Peruvian mixed grills, it comes served over charcoal. Surprisingly, everything was cooked perfectly and the skirt steak was medium rare as requested. The anticuchos were cut a little thicker than i usually see, but it helped it not dry out. The rachi was super tender, and very heavily seasoned, but i like my food salty anyway. My wife was impressed by the juiciness of the breat meat on the pollo a la brasa. We heard of this new viral Peruvian spot that makes Nikkei and Chifa as well as other Peruvian food! We had to go! Upon stepping in, the place had a great atmosphere and great decor. This restaurant does not have the capacity to accommodate large groups. We had an 8:00 PM reservation, but when we arrived there were no tables available. We were finally seated around 8:30 PM. Even then, we had to ask for menus, and by 9:00 PM we still had not received any drinks. To make matters worse, we were told that sushi was no longer available, despite clearly seeing other tables still being served sushi. One of our family members had an altercation with a server after simply asking for an extra table, which could have been handled much more professionally. Overall, the staff was extremely rude and dismissive, and the restaurant did not accommodate items that were listed on their menu. I would not recommend this place based on our experience. Never in my daughters life has she been discriminated. I take my daughter everywhere she's very well mannered. The owner presented herself and proceeded to ask me if I would like to move to another table and that she would give my daughter toys to play with. My daughter is 23 and was not making any noise. She was just enjoying the moment. She then said she has a nephew and she understands and that's why she asked me to move. I said I was fine and I didn't want to move. So then she went to the people next to us and basically told them to move. Like they had an issue with my daughter. They said they were ok. The reason why I didn't make a fuss or leave is because we were pressed for time as my daughter had a class right after. She also would have gotten very upset. Went with my wife and son because we love both Peruvian rotisserie chicken--especially as made at PioPio in Queens--and Japanese food, so the combination sounded unbeatable. I ordered a linguini noodle dish with seafood, my son ordered the same with beef and chicken, and my wife ¼ of a rotisserie chicken. We also ordered steamed Japanese dumplings (gyoza). While we waited, the lady who owns the place came over to welcome us. They've been here only three months so I'd like to wish them well. It's a decent space, functional and modern, with convenient parking at the rear. However, instead of noodles and seafood I got noodles with beef and chicken, which is what my son ordered, and he got just beef. We decided to stick with these since we didn't want begin waiting again. However, my wife's chicken came after my son and I had been eating for six or seven minutes. Two more minutes, she said at one point, and I'm sending it back when it comes. Instead of her entrée arriving with ours, the server brought our appetizer, which should have come well before that. Fortunately, my wife thought her chicken was the softest she'd ever eaten, although she regretted that the meal lacked the delicious green mustard we usually get with Peruvian chicken. The green stuff we were given in a small squeeze bottle was more like a hot sauce. Sadly. the beef and, in my case, chicken, on the noodle dishes were forgettable, borderline chewy beef and dry chicken. We had to wait for the server to bring us silverware and napkins which took some time.
