Lemme tell you the portions here are HUGE! I've been eating the brisket kimchi fried rice for 4 meals and still have one portion left. flavor wise the kimchi fried rice was absolutely killer. Super umami with an intense kimchi flavor, the rice itself was a sticker rice as well and thoroughly flavored. The added brisket was rich and extremely tender, i tend not to be a brisket fan but this was a hit! Despite being on the pricey side the huge portion of food makes it reasonable. One note is I got the fresh mango fruit tea and I was not a fan, it was super sour and didn't really taste like tea whatsoever, more like a sour lemonade. Service was super quick, food came out in about 8 minutes piping hot. The inside is rather small but a few dining tables, i'd say it seems more like a takeout place with the front counter set up. Great Viet-Korean restaurant in Hackensack neighborhood. It's right next to Anderson St. Station. You can enjoy trains passing by while eating. We went on Christmas Day. Really appreciated that they were open. Menu on the wall (the only physical menu). You can put in order by the kiosk or with the staff. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good came out quick. Couple tables inside. It has a wall for photo op. I love my brisket pho. Hot and flavorful. The lemon made the aroma come out even more. Brisket is thin and melt in your mouth. We came here for lunch on Christmas day. We were so glad they were open. We were the only party dining in, but we saw several take out orders being carried out. They have a small dining space with 4 tables. It's relatively clean and modern. The menu is posted on the wall and they have self ordering kiosk. We ordered a bunch of items from the menu, starting with popcorn chicken and spring rolls. Both were really good. For entree I had the Bulgogi Gogi (GG1). I was a delicious bowl filled with flavorful bulgogi ribeye beef mixed with lettuce. The beef phuh (pho) was excellent too. The server at the store was friendly. Pretty yummy pho spot; the brisket was tender and plentiful and the broth was refreshing. My husband ordered the spicy pho and wasn't a fan of the spice, it wasn't a sweet spice or spicy spice-- just red. The tteoboki was pretty good; could be spicier. We came here for lunch and left unsatisfied. I was craving some pho and saw this new place with cool signage. You enter a relatively small restaurant but it has a cool green wall. The service was quick and pretty helpful. I got the spicy chicken pho without any additional vegetables. They said it's a too small to share. But I would disagree. We also got the chicken, spinach and vegetable dumplings. I couldn't really taste a difference between any of them. They were small and extra crispy. Back to the pho. It was very spicy and extra messy. The chili oil was all over our chins by the end of the meal. They use dark meat chicken but it's really big pieces and too chewy. Went to Phuroo yesterday after work. I've been here once before and thought it was just okay, but my usual spot closes between 4-5, so I gave them another shot. Big mistake. The broth was completely bland, no depth of flavor at all. I ordered the brisket with beef broth and the brisket literally looked like Steak-um meat--super thin and unappetizing. I'm really happy that there's a Korean x Vietnamese late night eatery in Hackensack. They're open from 5pm-3am every single day! Street parking available with limited tables inside. My reason for a 3 star rating is because my last two visits were inconsistent with the quality of the food. Their menu is small and basically consists of pho, rice bowls, banh mi sandwiches, and appetizers. The prices are a bit higher for a "fast food/fast casual" eatery, but what else is new. On both visits I ordered the bulgogi banh mi sandwich ($16) and handmade beef dumplings ($9). The banh mi was SO GOOD the first time. It came with bulgogi, avocado, two eggs, pickled veggies, cilantro, mint, and spicy mayo. Flavor wise, it was sweet and sour from the pickled veggies, salty from the marinated bulgogi, and the bread was perfectly crispy. The second time around, it wasn't nearly as good.... The flavors didn't quite hit and I got a skimpy portion of meat. The handmade dumplings are just okay... I doubt that they're handmade because they taste like the frozen ones you can get at the supermarket. They tasted better the second visit than the first. My +1 got the pho ($11) and he enjoyed it but thought the broth was too spicy for him. You're able to adjust the spice level though. I've also tried the fruit tea ($7) and oh my gosh it was almost undrinkable. It was WAY TOO SOUR. I wish they were more consistent with the food quality because I really like the fusion menu concept AND it's open late at night. Went for midnight meal, open to 2:30 am a plus in Anderson Ave in Hackensack plenty of parking. Meter parking enforced 9am to 9pm. Was crowded after midnight. The food was super awesome, limited seating for dining in. They-do have fancy water cooler and cups for free water, but no fear they also have non alcoholic drinks for purchase. I was way overdo for some pho and banh mi and decided to try this place out. Ordered directly from their website, and it was delivered via Uber eats. It arrived pretty quickly and the temp was just right. The pho was very fragrant and had a flavorful broth. The meat was tender, and there were plenty of noodles and all the standard toppings. Portion was pretty big and filling. It came with a packet of hoisin and sriracha to add to your liking (I added the whole packet of sriracha and made it almost too spicy for me but cleared out my nostrils!). I tried a few bites of the bulgogi banh mi - not traditional Vietnamese but a solid sandwich with nice bread and flavorful fillings. The fried pork dumplings were a nice starter and still crispy on arrival. I enjoyed the Vietnamese Korean take of the menu. Overall, a solid meal - would order again. read more

The only reason I know this place exists, is because is through local Youtube food reviewer. I normally don't eat late, seeing as PHUHROO's hours are 5:00-3:00AM, but last night I definitely was craving some soup on a cold day. Put in my order, the guy said it would be ready in 15...came in 12 and the food was hot and ready for pickup! Really awesome and fresh. Didn't stay too long inside their establishment, but it looked clean and orderly. I ordered 2 items: first, I got the Spicy Pho with Brisket ($17). First, I comment the establishment on how they pack the pho --- everything looks beautiful, and I only have to assemble it once home in my big bowl. They also include 2 packets: 1 hoisin, and 1 sriracha. The pho was absolutely delicious! To be honest, I typically choose ramen over pho because pho tends to be light --- but their spicy broth was PACKED WITH FLAVOR! I thought I would split up the portions because it was quite substantial, but ended up finishing it! I think you would do the same. Second item I got is something not really advertised: Popcorn Broccoli ($7). I only know about it because of the King (iykyk), and these little fried morsels were absolutely delicious, served alongside a nice spicy, vinegary sauce that cut through all the oils. Another winner! So why 4 stars and not 5? Price transparency. If you look at the menu at my photos, the Pho should have been 16 dollars. (Pho -11- + Spicy -1- + Brisket -4- =16) I just ask that if they're prices are slightly higher (Pho = 11.50, Brisket 4.50), they better update the public menu so customers are not surprised. I think the change was rather recent, and they just haven't gone around to do it. This is a reminder it needs to be done. But overall? I came here for a last-minute pickup order on a Saturday night since I have been dying to try this place! I placed the order and it was ready by the time I arrived within 15 minutes around 7:30 pm. It's a small family-owned business with limited seating but is very clean and friendly and super convenient for take-out. We ordered two bulgogi bahn-mis, chicken pho, peach fruit tea, and a side of seasoned fries. The bulgogi bahn-mis were so good. I loved having bulgogi and fried eggs in my bahn-mi - it was so filling and delicious with some the spicy mayo. The chicken pho was super tasty and comes with everything you need. We also got one order of peach fruit tea. I will say it is on the sweeter side so if you're not a fan of sweet drinks I would not order it. And finally, the seasoned fries were crispy with the perfect amount of flavor. Highly recommend this spot. Just chunks of chewy bacon fat. Kimchi was disgusting. By the way, kimchi fried rice is fried in sesame oil, the rice isn't even fried, no sesame oil. You gave me basically bimbimbap. I ordered takeaway and we waited for out food to be prepared. This is a family-owned business, which I love. The entire family was there, helping out. There were no patrons dining on site but there were a few people that popped by to pick up their orders. The owners were very nice. The place is very clean and I was excited to try their food. I ordered a large amount for the fam back home, so as to try as much as we could. The wait was pretty long but to be fair, I did order a lot of food. The owner was nice enough to bring out our order to the car for us they packed everything very well and included gloves because I told him I would be snacking in the car, on the ride home. One thing I was super excited about, was the seafood jeon. It's a huge sesame pan fried cake with your choice or topping. I went with seafood. I was very bummed by the seafood topping. This item is $25 so I expected tons of shrimp, squid, etc. Instead, there was more kani than I care to eat. I have a disdain for kani (imitation crab) and will only eat it in a California roll but if given the choice, I prefer to pay extra for real crab I'm my Cali rolls. The seafood was also very overdone and chewy which kind of annoyed me, given the price. Also, the picture on their website is misleading, as I saw no kani on the jeon they have online. I let it go. The sauce and pancake were good so I mostly ate that. The kimchi bulgogi fries were amazeballs, as was the bulgogi bahn mi. We had dumplings and pho as well and everything else was good. Obviously, this place is in Jersey, so I can't say when we would be able to go back but if I ever do, I would probably get the bulgogi jeon of the seafood one and pay the extra. Good portion size. And wonderful that it is open late til 3 AM most every night. Having said all that, it's Bergen County. A low bar for pho. I can't believe I haven't left a review for this place, considering how frequently I come here! I've lost track of how many times I've taken my dad and especially how many times I've picked up food to go. It's a small spot on a corner in Hackensack, but it does have a good amount of tables to sit down and eat. The fried dumplings are always so fresh and tasty, and the dipping sauce it comes with is the perfect level of spicy. The bulgogi kimchi fries are to die for, 10/10 every time. The star of the show though? The bulgogi rice bowl, but the trick is to get the "stir with meat" option and you get bulgogi fried rice. 10/10, never ever gets old. I can eat this 3x/wk if I had to.
