THE GOOD ---------------- + Solid Vietnamese food and tasted better than my 1st experience here. ++++ Viet Paella Fried Rice - On their Specials menu. Lot of shrimp and other seafood. Good flavor to the fried rice and there was PLENTY of it. Definitely an interesting take on your traditional paella. ++++ Grilled Chicken Pho - Excellent pho and flavorful broth. Chicken was tender and tasty. ++++ Saigon Spicy Noodles with Crispy Pork Belly - Was OK. Basically a spicy chow fun with 5 large slices of pork belly laid on top of it. It wasn't bad, but nothing stood out either. + Menu consist of what most would consider traditional Vietnamese food, with the pho being what most people order. + Interior is spacious and the tables are all well spaced out. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Extremely "informal" service. ---- The young waiters and waitresses are all business here. Not much pleasantries or check ins while you're dining. Some might like this no frills approach, but I prefer a more personable dining experience. - No private parking lot, as is the case for most restaurants in Fort Lee. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Came by at 5:30 PM on a freeeeezing January Saturday evening and it was already crowded at 6 PM. There was a decent amount of people waiting, but within 15 minutes most of them were seated.
Mehhh, I hate having a disappointing meal. I was really craving pho, so I decided to check out Saigon Kitchen, a Vietnamese eatery located in the heart of Fort Lee. The restaurant has a casual and cozy atmosphere with touches of traditional decor like bamboo sticks, wooden furniture, and open spaces with natural light. There are tables and booths to accommodate both small and large groups. I came in as a solo diner on a weekday afternoon and was seated immediately. There can be long wait times during peak dining hours, so I suggest coming earlier if you don't want to wait for a while. The menu has your classic Vietnamese dishes like pho, banh mi, shaken beef cubes, lemongrass chicken, etc. They also have specialty Asian fusion dishes. Prices are fair and there's a 5% cash discount. No complaints on the service. The servers are very friendly and warm. They start you off with complimentary hot tea. My food came out quickly. I ordered... *Lemongrass Beef Grilled Skewers $9.95 (includes 2 skewers, spring onion, fried onion flakes, & soy bean peanut sauce) - The flavors were SO OFF. The peanut sauce had a funky taste. It barely tasted like peanuts. I don't know if they used too much vinegar or sugar, but either way... the ingredients were completely unbalanced! The lemongrass marinade was not good at all. Meat that's been marinated with lemongrass usually has a very fragrant, tangy, and smoky aroma... this was not the case here. There was an overpowering minty/herbal/grassy flavor. Did they forget to add in shallots, garlic, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime, or soy sauce???? The beef was a bit tough and chewy... not tender at all. *Pho Beef Combo (Phở Dặc Biệt) (includes beef broth, rice noodles, eye of round steak, brisket, tripe, tendon, meatballs, white onion, cilantro, & scallions with side of raw bean sprouts, thai basil, jalapeno pepper, & lime) $16.95 - This was decent... not bad, but not amazing. To my disappointment, the broth wasn't that aromatic, hot, or flavorful. It did not taste very beefy and the toasted spices like star anise, cinnamon, and coriander didn't shine through. Some of the cuts of beef were too chewy. The flat rice noodles were silky and fresh. They give you a lot of noodles and broth, but the meat portion is skimpy. I didn't enjoy my pho, so I had half of the bowl left over. I hate wasting food, so I packed it up and gave it to someone else LOL. Not a terrible experience overall, but not memorable or great either. The staff is sweet and the ambiance is super homey... but the food was a disappointment. It didn't hit the spot and it didn't stand out from other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to...Maybe I have to try other dishes or give them a second shot...? I'm not completely crossing this place off my list, but I'm not sure if I'd come back when there's better options in the area.
Every time I order from here, it feels a bit like a surprise. The recipes don't seem entirely consistent. Sometimes the texture of the chicken changes, other times the sauce does. This time around, the chicken was less crispy than my previous order and much more heavily sauced. That said, it was still incredibly tasty. However, both my husband and I experienced some stomach discomfort and bloating afterward, despite ordering different dishes. I hadn't had this reaction before, so I'm not sure if it was related to an ingredient like MSG or just an off night. I do wish there were more consistency overall, but I was genuinely pleased with the portion size this time; it was noticeably larger and felt like a great value. I'll continue ordering from here because I really enjoy the flavors, and it's still the best Vietnamese food I've found so far in the Fort Lee area.
Great service, I loved that they also serve hot tea instead of cold tap water. The beef rib pho was a good portion and the soup was fine - it was slightly bland though. The broth was a luke warm temperature whip I was surprised by. I asked around and everyone else's pho broth was also like warm. Temperature makes a big difference in pho because it brings out the different spices.
Once again I was underwhelmed by my bowl of pho. How things have changed. What used to be a fragrant and tasty broth is now now mild and in serious need of doctoring in order to give is decent flavor. Placed a pickup order and restaurant was packed on a snowy afternoon. Will try ordering something else in hopes of getting a more flavorful meal.
- Street parking only; can be challenging during the dinner rush in this busy area - Busy on a Saturday evening; we arrived around 5:30pm and were seated immediately, but a wait began forming before 6pm - Warm lighting and moderate noise level - Decent amount of seating with tables spaced comfortably apart; a few semi-cozy nooks with larger tables that work well for bigger parties - Slight draft inside from the wintry evening every time the door was opened - Service was nonchalant and purely transactional--very much a "get in, order, eat, and get out" vibe; no check-ins after food was served, and we had to grab our own containers to pack up leftovers - Food was OK: Viet "Paella" Fried Rice (limited-time specials menu) had rich seafood flavor and was generously portioned; Saigon Spicy Noodles with Crispy Pork Belly (specials menu) was disappointing with noodles that were unevenly cooked and under-seasoned, and the pork belly skin wasn't crispy, instead hard and chewy; Grilled Chicken Pho was enjoyable overall--broth had good depth and the chicken was well-seasoned and moist - Only one restroom in the restaurant, and it could've used more attention in terms of cleanliness; it was also a bit stressful when taking our toddler in--someone started banging on the door repeatedly just seconds after we locked it...
I came here for lunch with friends and had a good meal! The interior is spacious, with lots of tables for groups of different sizes. Service here is pretty quick, and good. We ordered their spring rolls, salad rolls, and lemongrass wings for appetizers and for entrees, we tried their BBH, vermicelli bowl, and fried rice. Their spring rolls were solid but I felt like the rice paper was a bit hard. Their other appetizers were also decent but nothing crazy. Their entrees were really good portions and full of meat and veggies, which I loved. Although the BBH broth wasn't bad, I noticed that they used the wrong type of noodle for the soup (they used pho noodles). Their vermicelli bowl was good though! And, their fried rice (which I typically wouldn't order) was actually a favorite at our table.
Been here a couple times and really enjoyed my meal. Last time I came here I got the regular pho with beef and brisket ($13.95) and the soup base alone was very tasty. There is a good amount of beef and brisket that comes with it. The table has sriracha and hoisin sauce, that's all you really need. Also the fried calamari is soooo good, finished it quick. Overall I had a good experience and I would recommend this place if you are in the mood for pho. * Good service * Municipal parking * Unisex restroom
We were back at SK for Sunday lunch. We walked in few minutes after opening, so got a table right away. The restaurant got almost full within next 15 minutes. The restaurant as usual, was super clean, organized and filled with wonderful decors. This time I had couple of new items that I didn't try before. The chicken wings were surprisingly really good. Soft moist chicken with layer of crispy skin. Then I had the grilled rice platter with chicken, beef and shrimp. The plate came with huge chunks of rice, lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and of course the delicious fish sauce. Loved everything in the plate, tasted so good. Service was excellent. They always check on the guests, clean out empty plates, refill tea/water cups. Food came out super quick. Overall it was another great family lunch at SK for us.
My husband's family and I have been here multiple occasions. We absolutely love the food here. If you're coming here at night time, be prepared to wait. That was our first mistake the first time we tried to come here at night with no reservation. Since we were a party of 6 with 3 additional little ones, we couldn't be seat for a while. Since then, we usually come here midday around 4pm. The food is delicious. Big portion so the prices of the food are reasonable. The staff here are always nice. Fun fact, there is where my now husband and I brought his parents to tell them we wanted their blessings to get married.
Saigon kitchen consistently delivers good quality food. We have been here for many years. Very authentic Vietnamese food. The coffee is super powerful. Thai ice tea has strong milk flavor. Clean and spacious inside. We had a group of 5 so they gave us a section at the back. The staff were always nice and friendly. Very attentive. I will recommend to go by opening time otherwise you might have to wait for a while for a table.
We use to visit this place frequently but as life got busier we started ordering from here via Uber Eats and it's still pretty good. Food arrives warm and the spring rolls are still very crispy, just wish they included more than one piece of lettuce. The pho here is very flavorful and they pack the soup separately so the noodles dont get soggy. They often run offers on deliver services and when you order directly from them too. We usually go for their Pho but have tried almost everything on the menu already and you really can't go wrong with anything.
Excellent service. Food was good. We went to Lunch there today. Parking was easy since there was large parking lot there. Restaurant did not seem busy so we got seated right away. I was with 3 other people and they were all satisfied with their food choices. We started off with spring roll and Korean Bbq chicken. Then I had noodle dish with roast pork. All came out very good. I recommend this place if you are in search for good Vietnamese food in Fort Lee. It was nice casual restaurant and felt very comfortable there. I would return.
The Xtra large phoe was amazing. The rib meat just melted it's soon as I picked up using the chopsticks. It literally broke apart. The soup was clear broth served in just right temperature. The garnish was freshly chopped with jalapeño slices and bean sprouts served in cold. You gotta try this place. I am too full to try anything else but if I had a room...I definitely try more. Oh the service was also prompt and friendly. The atmospheres is eccentric with vietmese bicycle as a central display. read more
A big, clean Vietnamese restaurant. The pho bowl was big, and while I liked the tripe, beef eye round, tendon (tender!), brisket - the meatballs were a bit strange in texture, almost big and a bit dry, like chunky overcooked meatballs? Anyway, the XL had a lot of noodle, didn't finish. I've had better pho - this was ok, but not as rich broth that I've had from some shops that cook the bones longer (my Vietnamese friend shared that guiding tip with me in making our own). The spring rolls were ok; half were burst open and too dry/crisp/oily inside, so had better elsewhere. Also would've liked it if they had some more pickled radish and carrots to balance for the single large piece of lettuce wrap. Service was quick and efficient, though, and the hot tea was nice. 5% discount for cash. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I order from here pretty frequently since it's my favorite pho restaurant in the area. You can't go wrong with any of the choices; they're all solid. What I usually gravitate towards: * Appetizers: Summer Rolls ($7.95) for some fresh veggies before your meal, NOT the fried Spring Rolls ($8.95); Steamed Vietnamese Dumplings ($9.95); Peppered Calamari ($9.95) * Veggie Pho ($12.95): fav. veggie pho in the area. Love that they have broccoli, carrots, bokchoy, yummy (most likely fried) tofu, as well as other ingredients. There were a couple of other pho places that made it with peas and green beans, and they did not do the soup justice. Warning! You must have the veggie pho with the original beef broth, NOT the veggie broth. The veggie broth is nasty. * Of course, most people get their Beef Pho [$12.95] or the Beef Combo Pho [$16.95]. Nothing too crazy or special from other restaurants, but still good. (The Spicy Lemongrass Pho [$14.95] was really good too. It's not that spicy and the lemongrass flavor is nice.) * Their House Fried Rice ($13.95; choice of chicken, pork, veggie, beef, or shrimp) is yummy. Tastes like a fried rice version of Banh Mi. * Banh Mi ($9.95; choice of chicken, pork, tofu & mushroom, or classic): can't go wrong with this sandwich. Love the combination of their BBQ and picked radish and carrots as well as cilantro. Yum. * House Crab Fried Rice ($18.49): If you love crabs, get this!!! They put a generous portion of actual crab meat and fish roe in this dish. As great as their food is, I do have to say that you're better off getting Pad Thai at a Thai restaurant rather than here. Service is great and there's enough space for large groups (though it can get crowded at times). Parking is available in the back or street parking, both for a fee (I recently paid $4.42 for two hours using the app Pay By Phone). read more
Saigon Kitchen offers a solid meal with generous portions and good flavors. We ordered the crispy spring rolls, pad thai, and shaken beef. The spring rolls were a highlight--crispy and flavorful. The pad thai came in a big portion but tasted pretty average overall. The shaken beef was pretty good, with tender pieces of beef and a nice seasoning. read more
Saigon kitchen. We did door dash earlier tonight to order their food. Everything was packaged well. We have dined there a few times before too, this was our first time taking out. I had the seafood noodle soup. Packed with thin rice noodles, shrimp, squid, fishcakes and scallops. Everything was packaged well - soup on the side, in the pint had beansprouts, jalapeños, basil. (The shrimp was sliced and cleaned out well) Saigon Kitchen has been a good restaurant to dine in or take out. All payments accepted. Delivery came conveniently well. read more

First off - I am incredibly picky with pho. I decided to try this place through uber eats and WOW, it did not disappoint! I ordered the Pho House Speciality Soup with Beef and the broth was super tasty on its own and was topped with a ton of scallions. Beef was also tender and not fatty at all. The dish came with a siracha/oyster sauce mixture which added a new level of flavor to the pho. Also ordered the chicken skewers and the spring rolls which were both equally good. Will definitely be ordering their pho again and try some of the other dishes on the menu. read more
Our go-to place for pho in the area! Very baby friendly. They provided bowls, cup with straw, etc. for our toddler. It's your cozy neighborhood restaurant that has yummy pho, incredible fried rice, and more. We've never had a bad experience here. Solid food, great service, fair prices. read more

Dined here around 6:30 on a Friday night. It was already very busy. The restaurant is a decent size; they were able to seat parties as large as 10 in a timely manner. They turn the tables over quickly. They were asking me if I wanted to order before my friend even got there! All the staff seem to work together so you don't necessarily have one server. We started with the pepper calamari. The pepper gave it the slightest kick but the sweet chili sauce it comes with balanced it out. I had the seafood noodle soup. I really enjoyed this soup! It felt like a very healthy meal. I had them make it with vegetable broth instead of chicken stock so my meal was completely meatless. There was a nice sweetness to it and definitely had not only a nice mixture of seafood but an ample amount as well. I'm glad I was able to take some home to enjoy again later. I've already suggested that my family try this place and order take out. Parking is a bit tough even though their main entrance is in the municipal lot. You can also enter on Center St. From the lot it's stairs only. They offer a cash discount. I think it was 2%. read more

I did takeout here, and ordered the Beef Combo Pho along with the fried Spring Rolls and Pepper Calamari and while the service was fine, unfortunately the food was underwhelming. This is mainly due to how the Pho is packaged for takeout. The meat does not come separately in it's own package but rather right in the container with the broth which I thought was unusual from my experience with take out Pho from other places. It's usually separated so that the meat doesn't get over cooked. Well, guess what - this made all the meat overcooked. The slices of beef were all overdone and dry. The brisket was dry. The tripe was really chewy. The tendon was almost non-existent. The meatball was dry and gritty. I think they should rethink putting the meat in the broth for take out. To top that off, the container leaked in the bag making everything wet. Also, two mint leaves and less than a handful of bean sprouts with 2 jalapeno slices just seemed very skimpy. I am surprised that it didn't come with siracha but a container with what tasted like hot sauce and plum sauce together. The broth was ok, but there just wasn't enough to make it taste "fresh" and the dry meat was off-putting. The fried spring rolls weren't bad, but with the 4 rolls, I received 1 lettuce leaf (!) and 2 slices of cucumber. One lettuce leaf?! The pepper calamari was fine but the portion was not big and it filled less than half of the container it came in. Anyway, the food was serviceable for take out, but not something I would do again. I am sure eating in is an entirely different experience, but for take out, it could be a lot better - at least for these items. By the way, they do not do the XLarge size for take-out, which is odd. read more

Ordered from Uber Eats yesterday and found a metal screw in my egg roll from my vermicelli... I shared this with my son who is 15 months old and I'm just relieved that I am the one who had to bite on this. Luckily, my teeth didn't break, but it did hurt, and I still have the taste of metal in my mouth. read more
Im not from here but I felt like the food was lacking. The cafe su da was not as concentrated as I had expecting feeling more watery than strong. I got bun thit nuong but with spring rolls instead! We also got pho and a side of pho broth. The fish sauce at this place isn't that strong, and the depth of the broth was lacking although the smell and aroma was there. It was our first time here after a friend recommended it. The service was great! The soup, though, was pretty bland and didn't really taste like a meat-based broth. The noodles were overcooked and kind of mushy. read more

Food (4/5) - I've been here multiple times and I think it's a solid place for viet food. I've gotten their pho before and always hits the spot on a cold day. I ordered their Grilled Rice Platter Combo with chicken, pork, and beef this time around and wasn't disappointed by their portion to price ratio. Food itself was good and expected: meats were cooked well and have a good texture to them - with the sauce it's great. Service (2/5) - So I've had this happen once before at this restaurant, but they don't clean their glasses well in my opinion. And I say this because when I received my glass for water, I took a sip not looking too hard and felt bumps on my lip from what was supposed to be a smooth glass surface.. took a look at my glass to notice there was a bit of food or something stuck to the glass and the top portion of the glass was noticeably opaque.. it def didn't leave me feeling good about things tbh.. BUT this is not a knock on the waiters themselves! They were nice people and def had great mannerisms, but this experience definitely brought down my perception of the restaurant. Experience (4/5): The space itself is nice and cozy! They definitely take advantage of the natural lighting and their choice in interior decoration is kept minimal but effective. I can def see people coming here for both casual and formal gatherings! TLDR: There's a lot of different kinds of occasions where this place can work! Food here is good quality and good pricing. I got buy one get one free spring rolls from Uber eats, which I shared with a friend. The spring rolls are just perfect. However the pad Thai lacks flavor and is kind of overcooked. Would not recommend the pad Thai here, although the grilled shrimp was excellent! read more
This was our second time here and it was quite disappointing. My wife got sick from their Thai iced tea and vomited twice as we were leaving the restaurant. There is a cleanliness issue here because there was lipstick on the cup when they gave us tea. It should have been a warning sign for us to get up and leave, except we were hungry. Accuracy from order taking was also an issue - I ordered a tofu summer roll and they brought out a shrimp summer roll and it seemed like they wanted to dispute it. There is no way I would have ordered a shrimp summer roll because I am highly allergic to shrimp. Our other dishes were okay. Definitely not returning here. read more

It was my first time eating here and I got a delivery through Uber eats. I ordered the Vietnamese dumplings and the Combo Vermicelli Platter. You get to choose up to three add ons which I got the spring rolls, pork belly and shrimp. It was a huge amount of delicious food. It was packaged well and delivered on time. Would definitely love to go at some point. read more

Food first of all ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I've gone to this restaurant probably since 2022 with my family and friends. The food, the service, and the atmosphere of the restaurant encouraged me to tell my friends about this place. They absolutely loved it too! I've gone here since 2022 and I still go here.
