Anytime I go to a korean/chinese restaurant I always get the jajangmyeon (noodle with brown sauce) and either the kkanpunggi (fried chicken with garlic sauce) or tangsuyuk (sweet and sour beef/pork). Last time I went I got my usual, jajangmyeon which was solid, just enough sauce to finish off with noodles. And got the kkanpunggi, which was very crispy and delicious. Consistently have good experience and service here. I've been dreaming about... their Yuni Jjajang (Noodle w/ spicy black bean sauce) & Pork Tang Soo Yook (Fried pork in Sweet & Sour sauce) since I had it last Sunday after like 5 years. They have always been known for their dishes and slightly more "upscale" vibe, lending it to be a favorite K-chinese restaurant for dining with guests. However, on this late lunch visit I was thoroughly impressed with their Yuni Jjajang (MAIN, 4/5) that had the perfectly cooked and chewy noodles with robust and well-balanced sauce w. a hint of chili kick. I'm usually not the Jjajang type (I usually order Jjamppong) but I barely even touched wife' jjamppong because I was busy stuffing my face with this. Their pork tangsooyook (ENTREE, 4/5) was crispy on the outside without being greasy, chewy & flavorful inside, and sauce hit the right balance of sweet & sour. I dipped each piece in the dipping sauce (IYKYK) and enjoyed every bite alongside my noodle dish. We had leftover jjamgppong and tangsooyook taken out and enjoyed it a day later and it was still awesome. (Do pack noodles separately) Really delicious. Unlike some of the Korean-Chinese restaurants in Palisades Park, Te Min Quan offers Chinese dishes as well, so the menu is large and there's at least something for someone - whether it be chicken/beef/fish/pork dishes or noodles/rice and everything in between. The Beef Fried Rice was the stand out - the pieces of beef were juicy and flavorful and the portion was very generous - it was even more delicious paired with the Mapo Tofu. Life is short. F.....it up! Family, Flavor, Friends Was passing through town and decided to try out this long-standing place in the neighborhood. This place is known for Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong. Reading the reviews they bashed the mandoo.. tried them and thought they are savory and cooked perfectly- plenty of stuffing and flavor. Just wanted to set the story right. Jajang had the good homestyle flavor plenty of onions and what is expected. The jam bong definitely had a spice kick noodles were good but missing the umami flavor. Got the seafood and rice - good portion - sauce needs more seasoning. Tang-soo-yook was good plenty of sauce for dipping. Very flavorful jajangmyun sauce and well cooked noodles pretty good ratio of noodle to sauce as well. The jjamppong equally as good with a good kick and solid seafood that tasted fresh. I got two different kinds of black noodle (spicy and non-spicy). I liked the noodles more than the sweet sour fried pork. It's one of those with thinner outer layer and more meat, but I don't think it was as crispy as I would have liked. The service was good and the restaurant was very clean. read more

This restaurant is listed as Korean/Chinese. In my opinion, the food offered isn't quite authentic Chinese nor does this restaurant offer all the typical korean dishes. I was quite disappointed with the ban chan offered - just daikon, onions, pickled daikon and some sauce. Every single table ordered Ja jang myun. I guess that's a must try but I opted out of that tonight. Looking at the menu it seems most of the food that they offer is fried food. Let me tell you, it's not crispy at all. We had fried beef and it was very soggy. My tip for you would be to request for the sauce to be put on the side. Fried beef should've came with rice but it didn't so that will cost you extra. Additionally for the portion sizes, you don't get your bang for your buck. They make quite a profit on their vegetable dishes. Overall the food wasn't spectacular and is average in my book. I was craving some comfort black bean noodles on a drizzly night. Was seated immediately on a Friday at 5 PM and the restaurant got busier as the night went on. For two people, we ordered the noodles with black bean sauce on a plate for two and the sweet and sour pork peking style. Had to get the infamous combination! I think peking style meant a plate of fried pork with the sauce on the side. In my opinion, I think that's the best option so the pork doesn't get drenched/soggy from the sauce and you get to dip/pour your portions instead. The pork was crispy and it paired perfectly with the thick sweet and sour sauce that had vegetables marinated in it. The black bean noodles came out steamy with a pair of tongs, and the waitress offered to cut up the noodles. The noodles had an abundance of chopped onions and a scarcity of meat/potatoes. The black bean sauce was also on the greasier side, but I think the pairing of the airy pork balanced it out. This was more than enough for two people and we were able to take some leftover pork home. We asked about other drink options, and the waitress pointed to an image on the dinner mat. We requested the apple soju bottle, but for some reason, she tried to give us the fresh soju. Instead, we opted for the complimentary hot tea. I live in Manhattan and take the bus to eat this at least once a month. That is how good it is. Jjajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk are the best. Pork and Chives plus the bun is solid too. Certain items were just named differently in English. There were two sweet and sour porks - the one I wanted was the "Beijing" version. I guess the other one is the American take out version? The sweet and sour pork is served sauce on the side and you can pour the sauce on top of the pork. Super crispy, fluffy and juicy! Gives a great texture break from the noodles. I was disappointed that my Jiang Jiang Noodles had no meat in it. I'm not sure if that's an added item or not but it was delicious never the less. This restaurant has been around for a long time but it was disappointing this time with COVID and all I kind of understand but they should let us know ahead of time. I ordered the beef tangsu yuk at $28.99 which isn't cheap. It looked really good when it came out but when you start to chew, the meat was so tough I couldn't swallow. I asked the waitress and she said the quality of the meat being delivered is not the same as before. Ok I get that but then she should have warned us and maybe I would have chosen the pork.
