A food-loving family member recommended this place, claiming it was one of his favorite spots for Korean BBQ. His hot tip: this restaurant is BYOB, so hop into the liquor store (inside the Hmart complex) next door to grab some soju and beer before settling in for some grilled meats. There are some plated dishes on the menu but with grill covers in the middle of every table, it's clear this is a restaurant meant for Korean BBQ. The pork belly was incredible with decent grill-kissed char marks. The marinated beef was tasty but a little tougher than I prefer. I love all the free side dishes that came with our meat orders, especially the soybean stew and towering egg soufflé. Service is brisk and efficient..sort of. This is the sort of place where servers hover with their order pads soon after you settle down, expecting you to just know what you want. Since this is a full-service BBQ, our server came around frequently to grill, cut, or flip or meats. After all was eaten and done, it become mysteriously difficult to flag her down for our cheque. A side note about ordering: there's a two-portion minimum for meats. My husband and I don't eat much so we thought we'd split a single order of pork belly, but our server insisted we needed to order at least two servings.

Lunch was great, especially the honeycomb pork belly and marinated pork galbi, which came in generous portions. I appreciated the smart service, where the galbi was cooked on a separate table to keep things moving. Complimentary soup, steamed eggs, and a variety of banchan added to the meal's value. The staff was attentive, though their demeanor could have been warmer. Its proximity to H-Mart is a huge bonus!

Place was busy!! Their pork quality was amazing and the accompanying soup and egg was delicious! Highly recommend and service was great!

First of all I LOCED the attention. Went here last afternoon with my boyfriend m, my baby and a friend. They were super sweet with my baby and the attention to us was excellent. They don't sell alcohol but you can bring yours from the liquor store next to them which is totally fine. The food was good as well, bathroom super clean and fresh smelled. They were all super friendly and super professional. I really enjoyed out meal yesterday.

Have you ever heard of Black Pork Belly? Known as the Kobe Beef of Pork, Black Pork Belly comes from Jeju-an island in Korea but luckily Dae Ji Ssonday 돼지쏜데이 in Ridgefield, NJ serves this special kind of pork belly! I've even seen @chefchrischo here . Dae Ji Ssonday 돼지쏜데이 is my favorite Korean BBQ spots in NJ-authentic, fresh and the banchan is . The service is on by cooking all your fresh meats around you. The ambiance is busy but fun! Bring a bottle of @choya_usa plum wine or @kurosawasake and you are set! Insta: @thehungrysw

I usually only eat AYCE bbq but this place is pretty good for a la carte. The meat quality is definitely better than any AYCE place and the banchan (side dishes) are a lot better too, but it's because the price is so much more expensive for the quality. For a party of 4, my friends and I ordered 2 orders of beef brisket, 1 black pork belly, and the seafood pancake. With those orders, we got 2 free steamed egg dishes and 2 free soups. The steamed egg is super good and the beef brisket is def the best I've had. BUT, for the quantity, it's like sooo little so I left feeling not hungry but nowhere near stuffed. Honestly, the amount of meat we got for 3 orders for 4 people is the same amount of meat I would eat usually for 1 person at an ayce place LOL. So set your expectations lmao. I had to eat a lot of banchan to fill myself up. The seafood pancake was meh and would not get again. But that being said, if you're looking for more of a quality meat, I'd check this place out.

The quality of bbq is so good! They cook the meat for you so the service is also great They also include your choice of egg soufflé soup or tofu soup. Overall high quality meat and sides and overall great experience. Will come again

Steamed Egg, bean paste soup, beef galbi, japchae

So happy that renovations are finished and place reopened. Food was delicious and perfectly grill by the waitress. I've been here 2x since they reopened.. will be going again with family soon

A surprising hidden gem of a Korean BBQ! Daeji Ssonday has a lot going against it. It is tucked unceremoniously away next to an Hmart in an area that looks industrial than commercial. The name is difficult for anyone who doesn't speak Korean and thus will also not get the pun. I was super skeptical walking into a busy and packed restaurant that had the ambience of a busy sweatshop. However, looks are deceiving. Is this the most glamorous k-bbq you can get around the area? Probably not. However, as soon as we ordered the pork galbi, the service was smooth and astonishingly seamless considering there seemed to be one bus boy serving the entire hall. The waitresses seemed like they had their minds on the other tables, but somehow managed to flip and switch out grills before the meat was burnt. Some of the banchans (side dishes) were underwhelming, but most were solid. The barbecue was done well and marinated just enough to keep the meat flavorful but not cloying with sweetness, like cheap marinated pork can often be. We were sold on the spring onion and lettuce that came with a sweet-and-spicy sauce that cut through the fatty meat when things got a bit greasy.. The price point was excellent for k-bbq around the area. My family is Korean, cheap and equipped with access to cheap and high quality meats, which makes us terrible customers at k-bbq places. We were well satisfied and agreed the price was worth all the food, service, and not having to clean up burnt meat off the grills and airing out all the smoke from the house. Maybe this place isn't suitable for first dates and girls night out. However, I would love to visit again with family and friends for a somewhat affordable and no-frills Korean barbecue experience when I pass by the area again.

Now I have a thing when people say "it's just next door" or "it's right down the street." What did George Dubya say? Fool me once and it's shame on you, fool me twice and the shame is mine for getting us into a war based on lies and greed?" Yeah something like that. Anyways, I typically don't believe when people say something is close so whenever I visit her we just order in delivery rather than motivate (ie put on a bra) and go out. But dang it this is literally. Right. Next. Door. As in I can sit on the deck outside of the restaurant and look in her living room. Smh. I say all that to say IVE BEEN MISSING OUT!! Her bday was this weekend so she booked a large table for family and friends. I was relieved to see they had valet. Parking is atrocious in this development so to only pay $10 to be 10 feet from the door was awesome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff know her well and treated her as a valued guest. Here's the rundown: We went for BRUNCH. They have a prix fixe for $41 of most of the brunch items and it includes 2 Bellini, 2 mimosas, or 2 Bloody Marys. Good right? Welp what you don't know is that their cocktail menu is incredible so to heck with the prix fixe. We got mimosas at home!! Between the 10 of us we got cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, coffee. Highlights: -Service was spectacular. Wesley was On It! By the time we finished eating there was another party of 10+ seated right behind us that he was servicing. I hope he enjoys the reward$ of his hard work! Make it rain on em Wesley! -Fat friendly seating. No arms, solid chairs, comfortable cushions. We were there for 4 hours and my booty was never sore. -Food. We tore it up and it was all delicious. My half of the table had the farm house breakfast sando, the fried chicken sando, French omelette, huevo rancheros. We shared the crab hush puppies, wings, calamari, goat cheese salad, and blueberry pancakes. I was nosey and saw that some of my other table mates ordered the skirt steak and eggs and the short rib. -Drinks. I know my husband loves mango so I suggested he get the smoked mango drink. I didn't know it came with theatrics. Dinner and a show?! Btw by the time our table was done almost everyone had ordered one. Lychee martini, Paloma, old fashioned, midnight espresso. Also all very good! -The View. Our party was too large to sit outside but we did sit right at the floor to ceiling windows. In between birthday wishes and food comas we watched the boats, jet skis, and undulating waves of the Hudson. Previous posters are correct - the place is pricey. But high key the people who live in that area are already paying a premium for everything else sooooo. Now, I DONT live in that area lmao so this will be a rarer treat for me. But I was happy to celebrate my cousin's birthday in a place that she loves. Awesome experience - I look forward to returning! 10/10 would put on a bra for this and walk downstairs lol

I wish she had told us this sooner, as we had to place a new order for my in-laws while we were almost done with our own food. strange that they were out of snow crab legs and dungeness crab so early in the evening and with so few customers. also the restaurant is freezing cold, dingy, and dark, which adds to the over all unpleasant dining experience. definitely skip this place!

The guac was good but could use a bit more salt, i wish they had chiccarons as chips instead of tortillas but the chips were great so wasn't a big issue. overall though expensive for some pretty average guac in my opinion. the seabass crudo was great, i loved the sauce and the mango went great with it. Super fresh, super tasty. Unfortunately the tacos were a mess, when it arrived the tortillas were so soggy that they were just coming apart, the meat was also falling off and overall the presentation was horrendous. the tacos weren't balanced as well, there were some with too much meat and then some with basically only cheese. overall flavor was not birria im typically use to but it was solid. honestly these tacos are probably the worst tacos i've ever had, for $20 it's a travesty. overall for a place nearby i'd come to get some drinks and the crudo and esquite because those were fantastic. but i'll pass on their tacos hard.
