Ate here a few times since my last review and it's definitely the best kbbq in the area. It is pricey but it's good value. You get a lot of food and the food is delicious and the meat is high quality. The service is always fantastic. We had a big party and were seated right away on a weekend. The waiter was patient and they were thoughtful of the 3 kids in our party, bringing utensils and plates for them. I think of Wooga often. It's so yummy. But if you want to gauge price a little, we went with 4 adults, 3 kids and ordered japchae (glass noodles), kimchi pajeon (pancake), 2 bottles of soju, drinks, a meat set that came with soup, 2 types of pork and 2 types of beef and it came out to about $350, tip included. Ooooh, it's been awhile since my last review. After 4 years, I still love Wooga but those "$$$$" on the their Yelp page keeps me from eating here more often. This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing. read more

The USDA Prime Rib Finger and Pork Shoulder were both delicious, but I think what makes this Korean BBQ restaurant shine is their accompaniments. That was clear when the Egg Custard came and we devoured it immediately. So fluffy, very eggy, and extremely smooth. In other words, maybe the best version I have had along with Nubiani. The banchans and stews were wonderful too. I know they have a Midtown location, but I still have not been to that branch yet. I hope its quality and service matches this location. I've been wanting to go to this place for a really long time. They've since opened up 2 locations in NYC but I believe this one in NJ is their original location. They do not take reservations, but we were willing to wait because they have a parking lot so we just waited in the car. We waited for about 30 minutes and the food was very worth the wait!! It was so delicious. We got the beef combo for 2 and the beef bibimbap. The place looks very modern and we really enjoyed our meal here. We will definitely be coming back in the future. read more

I went to Wooga last week with a group of friends. It isn't all-you-can-eat (AYCE) like a lot of other KBBQ spots so naturally the price is higher if you're trying to eat the same amount of meat. Wooga does offer preset packages to make ordering easier but you can also order different meats a la carte. The meat quality is slightly higher than AYCE spots but if you're trying to eat a bunch the cost adds up quickly. Service is good and friendly. I'd come back, but I prefer AYCE spots. read more

(Would Give -5 Stars If Possible) VERY RACIST This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. My family and I waited over 1 hour and 15 minutes to be seated. During that time, we watched an Asian family who arrived after us get seated before us. To make matters worse, we were initially told we would have a table, only to have that table taken away and given to someone else. The entire situation left us feeling ignored, disrespected, and unwelcome. My father-in-law is Hispanic and openly gay, and based on how we were treated compared to other customers, it felt like we were being discriminated against. Whether intentional or not, the experience was humiliating and unacceptable. After waiting that long and being treated this way, we left extremely disappointed. Customer service should be fair and respectful to everyone. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here, and we will not be returning. read more

Wooga might just be the king of Korean BBQ in NJ I've been to plenty of Korean BBQ spots -- even in South Korea and across the US -- and Wooga is definitely up there with the best. I'm not a huge spender, but the portions here were so generous that even after ordering a modest amount, it felt like a feast! We got the small pork set for 2 and a beef brisket for my wife,kids and it was more than enough for the four of us (two adults + two kids). The food was delicious, fresh. Love the quality of the food here. I've been twice and while it's pricey, the meat itself is absolutely worth it. That said, the service is very bland and not particularly friendly. But WHAT ultimately pushed me to write this review--and why I won't be returning--is the excessive use of disinfectant. While we were actively eating, staff repeatedly sprayed strong disinfectant on nearby tables, to the point where everyone at our table felt like we were inhaling chemicals while trying to enjoy our meal. I understand cleanliness, but there's a time and place. Please be more mindful and respectful of guests who are in the middle of eating your otherwise great food. read more

I absolutely love this place. The deal was unbeatable, they had beef for two for about $100 which is a steal. It came with all of the sides which were fresh, and included two soups. We frequent Wooga at least once a month so I feel compelled to write another review for this incredible restaurant since they recently did some renovations and re-opened. Staff is super friendly and restaurant is clean. We always opt for the beef for 2 (or 4 if we're dining with friends)- always great! We especially love the marinated short rib and skirt steak. We usually also add another side like the veggie fried rice, beef noodles, or spicy octopus noodles (trust me and try it)! We like the tofu stew a lot and usually get the egg side as well. The beef was marbled and everything tasted delicious! I especially loved the steamed egg and was surprised by how tall it was (A+ on presentation). The service was great and we didn't touch the meat once since our server was grilling for us. He also asked how well we wanted our meat cooked which we appreciated since not all places do that. This is hands down the best Korean BBQ in New Jersey. The staff expertly cooks high-quality cuts of meat tableside, including an impressive selection featuring dry-aged Wagyu. I came here on a Friday evening at 6:30PM and wasn't surprised to see the restaurant already hustling and bustling! My party of four had to wait around 15 mins before getting seated. We ordered the WOOGA special for five which included the prime rib eye, short rib, hanger steak, rib finger, pork shoulder, belly, and jowl. This also included four sides total, so we opted for the kimchi soup and the steamed eggs. The bonchon was also tasty and had plenty of variety! The service was great as they cooked the meat for us and were very attentive. If your group has an appetite like mine, the special for five is actually perfect for four people. The pork towards the end was also very fatty which wasn't our taste, but that's just nitpicking at this point. The price point is on the higher end, but for the quality of meat, it's worth it once in awhile. I'd love to come back! read more

We skipped the kbbq and went for entrees instead tonight and it was good but could be better. We got 3 entrees. Hot stone octopus - really lacking on the octopus. There was barely any. For $25 you'd expect some more but there's only sliced cabbage and onions and carrots mostly. The spicy red paste was the kicker and saving grace. Spicy rice cake- great! This has 2 dumplings, 2 onion rings, lots of fish cakes, lots of Tteok-bokki, and loads and loads of cheese. I'd reorder this one. Kimchi fried rice- this was too mushy. A great place for great quality Korean bbq. My boyfriend and I went around 8:30pm on a Saturday. The parking lot was full but cars pulled out frequently so we were able to grab a spot after just one lap around. There was a 40min wait but we were seated well under that. We ordered the small beef combo for two, fried small intestine, an order of the chef's cut prime short rib, and corn cheese. We also ordered 1 bottle of soju and 4 Terra's. The skirt steak and hanger steak were top favorites from the combo. The combo came with mushrooms and rice cakes. While the quality of presentation of everything was great, I felt that the portions were kind of small compared to another Korean bbq place we love. It was just the two of us and we ordered quite a bit. I will say not to go close to closing time if you like to take your time with meals. They're ON TIME with closing time and informed each table when it was last time. It wasn't an issue for us since we were done but I could see how some people might not be too thrilled about it if they didn't know. I've been wanting to try A5 Japanese wagyu for a while now, and I felt this was a good way to try it. We also got iberico pork belly add-on, though we probably would have been full enough without it (we were just 2 people). The wagyu set comes with mushrooms, rice cakes, white rice, lettuce wraps, banchan sides, sauces, and 2 sides - we got the steamed egg and soybean stew. The pork belly came with kimchi and onions, which were also grilled and soaked up the pork fat. The wagyu melted in the mouth, and the sauces and sides were all great. The pork belly was both meaty and fatty, and the grilled kimchi and onions were a nice touch to balance out that fat. The skin side of the pork belly was too hard to eat, though - could have cut that part off before serving. The sides and banchan really helped to balance the fattiness of the meat, so we didn't feel disgusting after. Service was impeccable, and we weren't rushed out at the end of the meal. Banchan and waters were refilled as needed, and the food was cooked perfectly. We arrived at noon when they opened, and it was mostly filled soon after, but there was no wait. The restaurant didn't get too smoky - I didn't even smell like smoke after I left. It is a little on the pricier side, especially if you go for the premium cuts, so those ones I'd reserve for a special occasion - we were celebrating a birthday. read more

Came here once before when they used to be called 1080 and again recently. I recall they get very busy during dinner time on weekends so we came on a Saturday around 5pm and were seated right away. Service was good and everyone was prompt and helpful. Meat was great - personally think among the KBBQ spots in the area, this is among the top. Banchan was good too. There was a mixup with one part of our order and we had to cancel though all in all, enjoyed the meal. Energy was in line with KBBQ restaurants. I give this a 3.5. We have been before, and I do feel like the quality of the meat is decreasing. Maybe they were having an off day. I would have easily given this place a 5 for our first visit over a year ago. Our second visit earlier this year, a 4-star and when we dined recently, I was let down and would rate this at 3.5 out of 5. Since that's not an option on that, I am rounding up for the good of the restaurant. Starting with the good. It's always quick to get a seat during the week. The team is very attentive to get your orders in and get you fed quickly, which I greatly appreciate. they are also very generous with their sides, and they are really delicious. We also love their cheese and corn appetizer, delicious! For the beef, we split a combo for two, and were disappointed with the New York strip. Was dry, lacked flavor, and had hard muscle that didn't make the meat the most pleasant bites. If we hadn't paid $100 for the meat combo, I would have left it there. The short rib and the skirt steak were better. Hanger was ok, not as good as I remember. After dinner, I was in the mood for something sweet. I asked for the pineapple sorbet. When they brought it, I tried a small bite and it was not edible. It did not have the consistency of sorbet and tasted like cardboard (sorry to say). No pineapple flavor at all. I left the entire dessert there. When I asked for that to be taken off of the bill (sorbet is $9, the rest of our bill was $120 pre-tip), the server kindly asked the manager and they said no. That feels really wrong and was a very disappointing response from the establishment after spending $120 on our meal. You can't spare $9 to address food quality not being up to par? On the receipt, I asked them to try the sorbet themselves, so they can see what I was talking about. My advice to you is, go get your dessert somewhere else. We love this place and have been going there for years. Recently, though, they've been using some kind of cleaning fluid that is so so stinky. I smelled it in the parking lot, I smelled it in the bathroom, unfortunately. I also smelled it where I was eating and I even smelled it in my hair 30 minutes later on top of the grill smoke smell!
