I felt unwelcome from the moment I sat down. When I asked questions about the menu, the server brushed me off and walked away. Several small plates were dropped on the table with no explanation, I had to find a server to ask what they were. The server's response was in Korean which did neither helped nor was conducive. The main dish barely had any meat compared to the amount of rice. While the food itself tasted fine, the service was rude and the experience was horrendous. This was probably the worst service I've seen in New Jersey and I eat out a few times a week. Some items were not available but the substitutes were great too. Staff did a good job working the grill and bringing more requested banchan, drinks and meat. My first impression was that the table was not clean because there was still rice stuck on the table and the table was still pretty wet. Also, my chair was a bit wet. We picked this restaurant after a spa day because they had charcoal grill. It was a good choice. We came around 4pm on a Tuesday. We were the only people there. The stuff that helped us with our order and did the grilling was friendly and professional. He would grill the meat and noticed that we were not eating very quickly so he would go hang out with the other employees while we ate. Go up the stairs for KBBQ! One of the only places that uses coal in the BBQ instead of gas. Honestly this does make a difference in the taste, especially in the vegetables or more delicate BBQ. We came on a Friday night with 2 people around 5:30pm and were seated right away. It seems like this place doesn't get too crowded since there were still some tables open when we left. I enjoyed my time here but think I prefer other kbbq places over this. We got the two-person beef set combo which comes with three meats. Two of the meats were delicious and juicy but I was a bit disappointed by the wagyu brisket. When I hear wagyu I think it's gonna be super soft and melt in your mouth but when it came out it wasn't very marbled. It was a little tough, but to be fair they didn't say the grade of the Wagyu. The banchan was good and the veggies were fresh which I appreciated! They give steamed egg, stew, and corn cheese on the side which we appreciated, but they were just okay, nothing special. Something that's also pretty important to me for kbbq is the sauce since the meats are typically served without marinade and seasoning. Usually, I like this place...but it's becoming a bit unreliable. First off, a ten minute wait turned to over 30 minutes, PLUS they sat someone who came in 20 minutes after ME! Then tries to lie and say that they had reservations, which we knew that they don't do that during busy times. Once we get seated the service is awful. We order our food, and have the meat sitting, with no coals, but the two tables who got seated 10 minutes AFTER us had hot coal and NO meat. I get told, that there's no coal and that we have to wait. So then we got stuck waiting for more coals. The food is good, but if you don't mind being lied to and waiting a ridiculous amount of time for food this place is for you. read more

TLDR; Really enjoyed the food and service was great. We went here two nights in a row. The fact that there was a separate parking lot was cherry on top. We ordered beef combo 1 small with marinated beef and naengmyun. It comes with side dishes (pretty typical for a Korean restaurant), steamed egg, dwenjang jjigae, and corn cheese. All of them were pretty good, with dwenjang jjigae being very tasty and not too watery like some of the other places. Steamed egg was nice and soft. The combo that we ordered was really good. The meats had great marbling and wasn't too fatty. The servers cooked them really well. It was nice to not have to be the one to cook the meats. Between my wife and I, we were pleasantly full even after just the meats and half a bowl of rice. The naengmyun is made with such flavors that perfectly complement the meat, especially the marinated beef. Its cool sweet/very light sourness makes it a nice complement to the meats. Definitely try this, especially if you get the marinated beef. The service was great too. They cooked everything for us, so we had easy access to servers and to ask for whatever else we needed. Not to mention they catered cooking to how we wanted them too. The ambiance is pretty great for a casual date night or just hanging out with friends. It's not too loud, but not dead silent. The ventilation system is really good and my clothes barely smelled like meat afterwards, which cannot be said for many of the KBBQ restaurants. We used to be regulars here before my wife got pregnant, and recently, we decided to revisit. Their service remains solid, and the interior is always well-spaced, which I appreciate. They don't cram people in like sardines, especially important for KBBQ. I don't mess around with KBBQ, so having extra breathing space while eating is a plus. I noticed a significant improvement in the meat quality. The beef combo was beautifully marbled and perfectly cooked over charcoal. I also love the fresh veggies they provide, making for a perfect lettuce wrap with beef, scallions, and [raw] garlic - it's the best. However, while their beef quality has gone up, their oyster tofu soup (sundubu) fell a bit short. It used to be a major reason my wife and I chose this spot over others, but I'm not sure if it was an off day or a change in the chef over the past year, but the oyster tofu soup wasn't as good as I remembered. Apart from that, everything else is on point, and we definitely enjoy coming here. We'll be back, and I'm curious to see if the meat quality remains consistent because if it does, they deserve a 5-star rating as a KBBQ spot. I can overlook my reservations about the tofu soup. May be my favorite kbbq in the area. If you are looking for quality bbq cooked over charcoal (which adds so much more flavor to your meat), this is the place to go!! Four of us - three girls and a guy, we ordered combo 2 for 2 and an additional order of marinated short ribs.
