We had Cream udong with cod roe : Not too thick cream and with the salty cod roe, it gave the umami. (But, quite unfamiliar with squash and eggplant in it.) Stir fried pork with octopus ($47 for 2) Large hot pan and stir fried onions to give it sweetness. Looks very spicy but very tolerant level. After we were half way through, they asked if we wanted to fry some rice. (Additional charge $9) Then the beef tartare with buckwheat noodles. Overall a nice modern Korean restaurant in north Jersey. Came here for a friend's reunion for which we had a weekend dinner reservation we called ahead for. Service overall was friendly and timely though they did completely miss one of our drink order. But when we brought it up, they resolved it. Wow, it's been awhile I was satisfied with everything about a restaurant, from the ambiance to the service and the food in its representation and the taste. I had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally got to come here with a friend. The area wasn't what I expected but once you walk inside, it is a completely different vibe. It's somewhere I would come for a nice meal with my parents or for a date night. The staff here are very friendly and give you enough space so you can enjoy your time with your party, but attentive enough so that we don't have to ask for our cup to get our water refilled. We ordered the k-beef striploin tartare bibimbap and the marinated pork galbi gui. Both were SO good and I love the sides that they came out with, as well as the representation/plating for everything. The grilled meat did get cold pretty fast but it was still very yummy! We made reservations for a Saturday evening dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. The restaurant has their own parking lot to the side, although self parking spots are limited and the other handful of parking are valet. The restaurant has an upscale appearance with a casual and family friendly vibe. The staff were all very friendly and the service provided was top notched. We ordered the fried pork skin as appetizer and the han ban for two as our main entree. The food was delicious and plentiful. The meats were all flavorful and tender. My partner and I reserved for the night of Valentines Day at 7PM and we were promptly seated. Keep in mind that it is Valet parking mandatory so we asked for cash breaking inside so we could tip after dinner. The interior is very pretty and clean, and makes for great ambience. There's also Korean music playing which we enjoyed. We ordered the prix fixe menu for Valentines Day at $99/person. Surprisingly it came with lots of food and we left stuffed and with some minimal leftovers. We started with a complimentary glass of champagne for both of us. For appetizers, we got the pancake flight (4 pancakes, truffle,meat,etc) and fried fish. For entrees, we were served a meat platter for 2 to share, and then each chose an additional entree (spicy octopus bibimbap and perilla oil pasta). We ended the night with a basque cheesecake. Overall my favorites were definitely the fish, the meat platter for 2, and the spicy bibimbap. The cheesecake was also creamy and a sweet way to end the night. We came knowing we'd be paying for a more fancy meal and a prix fixed for Valentines, but we left pleased at the quality overall of the food. The only things that could be improved was the service speed near the end of the meal as it was hard to get our check. (And more options for parking!) But overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would maybe come back for another occasion! read more

The "banchan", or side, dishes, were made from high-quality ingredients and the portion sizes were great. Only downside was that I thought the concept was really great, but some of the ingredients didn't really go well together. I wanted to eat as healthy as I can with no spicy things because I had an issue with the stomach before a medical procedure 2 weeks ago; I'm recovering . I love spicy food but , for now I can't. Please save your money and don't come here. We had a bad start with the tuna tataki appetizer. The tuna was straight up FROZEN, it tastes more like ice than tuna. We sent the dish back to the kitchen, but they brought it back out and told us it was how it was supposed to taste like. I've had tuna tataki at other restaurants before and never had this experience... My husband ordered beef tartare bibimbab, and the beef was also frozen. It seems like it's the norm to serve frozen meat at this restaurant. The service and the grilled meat at the restaurant is good-ish, which is the only reason why it would deserve 1 star. For the price tag ($99/pp for a 4-course meal) and the bad experience, we would never come back here. read more

Got the hanpan for family and it's a great deal. Has a lot of food including four big bowls of cold noodles after. However the meats were just okay and ended up being a bit dry after a while with the small fire to keep it warm. The pasta was a big hit with the creamy sauce and fried fish/cod? A great spot for a date night or if you are trying to impress someone! For appetizers, we tried the grilled artichoke, truffle potato jeon, and the beef tartare. Karden is apparently one of the places to be for Korean food. It has a nice upscale interior design and is priced to go with that. We had a party of six and went for: Galbi Gui Beef Tartare in spicy cold broth Smoked pressed pork trotters Karden Tonkotsu (checken fried pork, more or less) and a couple of drink specialties including Karden of Eden Power of Innocence Our party found the food uniformly great. I went with a friend for dinner. We got the cod udon noodle pasta and the meat platter for 2. THE FOOD IS SO GOOOD!! Definitely highly recommend the meat platter. The meat is cooked and seasoned to perfection. They also have amazing side dishes and desserts. I usually hate cheesecake at any location but my friend ordered the cheesecake and it was literally the best cheesecake I had in my life. This is the only cheesecake I would actively seek out. The restaurant is also very clean and the staff is very friendly and professional as well. Lastly, i highly recommend their signature cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised by the large portion of the Hanpan - for a group of 4, we ordered the Hanpan for Duo and a pasta and it was a lot of food. The meats are very soft and too seasoned so you can try the various accompanying sauces (like soybean, salt, wasabi, etc.). Straight to point: 1. Taste is great 2. Service is OK 3. Price vs quality&quantity is decent, slightly on the pricy side Place is not too shabby. Overall most food tasted really good. Beef was on point, pork jowls was great, and house bacon was top notch. Other side dishes were 8~10 out of 10. I would go back to try other items for sure. Reason for 4 stars is the service was very slow. 35 minutes for appetizer (Gamja Jun) to come out and it was disappointing. I would scrap this 'fried hash browns' and bring out the traditional Gamja Jun. Sauce was good though. Then over 1 hr for main to come out. Now, I don't expect things to come out immediately but this was bit extreme. Granted it was Friday night but not 1 person came to tell us any update. Cream ale doesn't really go with any of the food. Might want to consider other pairings to see if it makes sense. And 1 last minor detail, please fry dduk-ggochi slightly to give it a crispy outer texture. By the way, I was hearing every time someone was cursing inside the kitchen/prep area. "I-C-8 this, I-C-that" in Korean lol. Might want to watch out. The space is very big and great for a gathering. We came on a Sunday for dinner without reservations, and the staff was accommodating and nice. We did not have to wait to get in. We ordered the Hanpan for Family for a party of six and it was lots of food! We couldn't even finish all the meat. It came with a variety of meat from pork to beef, but the side dishes were the star of the show. Our favorite was the spicy rice cakes skewers as it was sweet and spicy. I took friends who visited from London and they even liked the restaurant and their food so much. It became one of my favorite restaurants in the area and would like to go again to try drink menus and different dishes as well. The duo hanpan could be almost perfect if the bread that came with it wasn't so stale and tasteless. Drinks were good (loved the Karden of Eden). Dessert was good (K-Zeppole with homemade ice cream) but nothing special/crazy. One thing I was kind of annoyed about was the fact that I parked my car myself and also took my keys from the valet stand, walked to my car to drive home after, but the valet demanded I give him tip.
