The service was consistent, only once did we have to ask for refills for water. Food: we ordered the half and half raw marinated crab, bibimbap, abalone congee and fried oysters. Raw crabs: marinated and seasoned perfectly. We aren't a spicy loving family, but this was perfect amount for us that we could handle the spice. Our lips and mouths burned, but the good tingle, not the fire breathing 911 burn. lol Fried oysters: well battered and fried, nicely aromatic Abalone congee: perfectly textured and the abalone meat and taste was present. This helped offset the spiciness of the crabs. Bibimbap: not your average clay pot type, this was on a plate and with lots of green vegetables. Also delicious! The Bon chon was different and excellent. Variety of different vegetables, pickled and fermented. We enjoyed them all. FYI: there is a small parking lot as well

Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

A staffer brought over a reasonable but light sized selection of banchan (and not 100% sure how to get more after I asked and then apparently they were too busy to come back to give more). Rustic Korean look is about right - more like a bit of a drinking spot + food, and they had a section with candy ($2 each, you pay on your honor system) along with some old school video game cabinets. Located on the second floor, so take the stairs up or the elevator. The sides included some rice cake with fish cake in a sauce, scallion pajeon pancake slices, large pieces of nappa cabbage (cut later by a server rushing back), bean sprouts, some kind of mayo/egg salad, marinated broccoli, a few grilled slices of sausage meat, sliced large daikon pickles, and a few other items. The basic soup with kimchi and steamed egg was good. We ordered on the tablet and asked for water - they brought very nice cold barley tea (and they had a hot one later for my wife when we asked for that separately) - excellent on a hot day. The BBQ - they will grill it for you. We had the gas grill turned on, it was slightly tilted to let the grease runoff - the vent above. The special dry-aged pork belly was ok ($35.19), a little nutty/earthy and a bit "stinky". It was super fatty and good with the doenjang or sesame oil w/ salt. The pork short rib cuts were cooked in the kitchen and brought out on a little metal tray to keep warm, so that was immediately able to be eaten, that was marinated well, juicy, and less fatty but a small handful for ($35.19) - expected a bigger serving. We also tried the seafood pajeon - very thick, lots of scallions, some jalapeno, and only a little seafood chopped up on top. Perhaps the more traditional way - a thick layer of scallions and some batter on top, was what it felt like. The side of regular pajeon with the banchan was small and crisp and better, actually. The last dish was a shin ramen fried rice - pork fried rice mixed with a Shin Ramen and put on the grill - it was already ready to eat but the server made it into a nice little heart. Tasty mix. Went on Labor Day, so the buy 2+1 free meat wasn't applicable even though it was Monday-Friday summer deals. The check also had the 3.5% off but not the extra 5% on the tablet screen, so ended up just paying via card. I saw one group come in to try to sneak a bunch of beer they were bringing in themselves and probably left after being told they couldn't drink it or maybe there was a cork fee? The restaurant does serve alcohol. There were a number of delivery orders for pick up and people waiting on seating (it did get busy) so the one waitress was running around cooking BBQ, the manager/owner(?) was running back and forth between taking orders, making food in the kitchen, packing items, and getting folks seated, so that made some people impatient. Parking available around the corner at the Pocha restaurant or the muni lot across the street. Overall I've had better BBQ but it was a reasonable try.

That gave us enough time to have the place to ourselves and order literally everything they could think to serve us. This was easily one of the best KBBQ experiences I've had. The meat cuts were all perfectly marinated and grilled, from the Dry-Aged Pork Belly, to the tender Pork Jowl, to the juicy Marinated Pork Ribs. The Budae Jjigae was savory comfort, and the Shin Ramen Fried Rice was not only abundant, but served in an adorable heart shape. Even the Kimchi Stew and Gyeran-jjim were more umami than the countless counterparts I've had elsewhere. On top of that, we got more ban chan than an attention-starved halmoni hosting her first family reunion in 10 years. Everywhere I pointed my chopsticks, I touched food. It was delightful. If I can ever gather enough people, I'd gladly infest this place again.

I found out much later that the owner was the one actually serving and cooking for us. We were able to walk in with a party of ten on labor day. Super accommodating staff, owner knows what he's doing. Never caught his name unfortunately We ordered 4 different combos and dude was able to cook for all of us at the same time. Everyone left stuffed and I even had leftovers for the next day. I didn't get to eat everything but here's what I tried. The duck combo, pork combo, nayengmen (cold noodle I butchered the spelling I know sorry) and corn cheese. They don't do the brisket sauce like they do in la. Instead I think it was a mixture of miso and vinegar? With onions soaking in it. Paired perfectly with the pork. I've never had anything like it before. The thin cut pork belly was probably my favorite out of all the pork. The marinated duck combo was pretty interesting. It kinda felt like a ttkekbokki dish? But a little light on the rice cakes. The duck itself tasted like some really good charcuterie. It was a little too spicy for me but super good. We ended up opting to throw everything into the fried rice at the end and it made for some perfect late night leftovers that I'm enjoying as I write this review. Lovely place, hope they do well. Once we were finally seated though, the food came out fast and our server/cook was very friendly and joined in on our convos. We loved everything we ordered, especially trying the clam gui and marinated duck for the first time. They make the kimchi fried rice at the end in the duck leftovers and it was so tasty! I would love to come back because the food was so tasty but maybe put ourselves on the waitlist next time since the space isn't large and you just have to get lucky with when you show up.

I really liked the gomtang as the flavors were really rich especially when elevated by the pepper. - Seolleongtang - Clear and beautiful broth that went really well with salt. I felt like the meat was not as tender as I hoped but still made me think of my favorite Korean restaurant where I grew up. - Kong-guksu - I didn't know what to expect of this dish as I've never heard of it or tried it before but I didn't really like the dish. No matter how much salt/pepper I put in, there still didn't seem to be a lot of flavor. I ended up dumping the Korean Pickled Onion banchan in which helped elevate the flavor a lot. - Mini KimchiJeon - When I read this off the menu, I though the kimchi pancake would be extremely small but it turned out to be quite bit and very delicious. You order at the front and pick up your food when it's ready. It's actually a really convenient system, and since there is no table service, there's no expectation to leave a gratuity. The food itself is consistently good. The parking lot is very, very small and shared with the cafe next door, so parking can be a squeeze. Because it's so popular, it gets very busy during prime dining hours. Even when I've ordered takeout, there can sometimes be a decent wait to get your food so I recommend order online or over the phone ahead. They do charge a little extra if you pay with a credit card to cover the fees. If you visit during the summer months, you absolutely have to try the Naeng Myeon (cold noodle soup) or the Bibim Naeng Myeon (spicy cold noodles). They rotate the banchans and we get something a little different each time we go and they're all very good. One thing that really stands out is their steamed eggs. The service is great as they come and grilled the meats for you and they always grill it to perfection. The only downside side is I remembered they used to take reservations if you have a party if 7 or more but this is no longer the case. We wanted to come here for a party of 8 on the weekend and they don't take reservations on weekends so we almost never make it as a big group because there's normally a very long wait time unless you come super early. I've never had grilled oxtail before, or seen it on any other KBBQ menus, so this was an absolute must for me. Wooga is legit - authentic, service is phenomenal & attentive, and the interior is cozy but relatively well ventilated. We waited about 15 mins on a Sunday night for a party of 2. True to my over ordering tendencies, I ordered the oxtail, the small beef set, and a small naengmyun. This was SO much food. The grilled oxtail was definitely an interesting experience. It still has all of the richness & fattiness, but the little crispiness from the grilling also makes it a really addicting texture. It was admittedly a little hard to eat with the bone pieces and with it being scorching hot, but I would get this again. The beef from the set was good, but we were struggling to finish. Each set also came with a steamed egg and kimchi stew, and there's always just something about KBBQ kimchi stews that slaps. The naengmyun was decent, not the best I've had but okay. Service here though deserves 5 stars. I accidentally dropped kimchi juice on my dress, and the waiter gave me a stain remover immediately. We never ran low on water, banchan, or sauces, and all meats were cooked to our liking. Parking is available to the side of the restaurant. Will definitely be back!
