Asian style, or even Korean style cold noodles - buckwheat noodles either in cold broth or spicy sauce. The spicy sauce one is not spicy at all, and it is not "dry" style, but some broth is added to give it smooth stirring. Among all the dishes, buckwheat noodles is the best. We have tried the lunch menu - spicy pork stir fry, mackerel, hot noodles (handmade chopped noodles), etc. But, again, we always go back to buckwheat noodles. The broth is rather string flavored, but maybe that's what gives the unami we want.

I wanted to try kimchi, noodles and Bulgogi, buttttt when I came here I realized that the portions were gigantic. So I decided just for kimchi w/ noodles this time. The kimchi w/ noodles was absolutely delicious!!! I have to add that the place is clean, quiet cozy and the servers are very kind Prices are fair I will return to enjoy everything of this place Thankz and blessings to all the crew!

My friend and I grabbed lunch from Myung Ga Won and let me say, the food and flavors were A+! We ordered the spicy stir fried squid, and the weekend special which came with spicy pork, braised mackerel, and a variety of banchan. The mackerel was tender, and cooked so perfectly. My favorite of the banchan was the seaweed and daikon which had just the right amount of vinegar. After the meal, they bring you slices of watermelon for dessert! Overall, Myung Ga Won does a superb job with flavors and authenticity.

Very nice little mom and pop style Korean restaurant in a quiet part of Tenafly. I read about all the drama about the service here, maybe it was a lucky day or something was done about the person in question but I had a very good experience here overall when I dined in the restaurant. Absolutely no issues with the service and in fact I thought it was far more polite and attentive than what I was used to. In terms of the food, the menu wasn't huge but they did a solid job with the dishes we ordered. The rice cake soup was good and I can't say enough about the tasty soon doo boo. The latter was super flavorful and had a wonderful aroma to it. It was much better than most of the tofu soups I've had in other restaurants. The LA kalbi was decent - not too salty or overly seasoned and the meat was fairly tender. The side dishes were also good. Generally speaking this place has a homey feel and I'm definitely a an of this place. This restaurant was also quite clean and has a little parking area.

Their jeongshik special - I'd had my eye on it for weeks, and I was on a mission to check it out on a recent Saturday. The place was surprisingly empty and we ended up having the place to ourselves, which was most welcome. In a nutshell, their food is legit! The fact that the price of the "Special" meal set seems to have been creeping up regularly is barely a blip because the food is most authentic. The waitstaff was quick, friendly, and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for food to come out. So...How was the food? - Spicy pork: my only wish is for it to be served hotter, like on a hot plate, but it barely detracts from the delicious pork belly that had just the right amount of sweetness and was mild enough for us. - Spicy mackerel: the chunky radish was so tender and so was the fish. And again, I wouldn't let the "spicy" deter because it was nothing but. - Seaweed soup: the most authentic version I've had of this in a long while, and another knockout. - Side dishes: not that a total of 6 is anything to sneeze at, but each side truly stands on its own. I particularly liked the pan-fried tofu - freshly cooked and so tender. - Rice punch: malty, rice-y, ice-y, sweet perfection, and what a grand finale! I can't wait to go back.

TLDR: tasty banchan and meals with decent portions Tuesday Lunch (12:30pm)Order for 2 ~~~~~FOOD~~~~~ *banchan - good variety, this is the first Korean takeout I've had that gave us a rolled omelette - lots of fish cakes (my favorite!!) - also get bean sprouts, radish kimchi, and cucumber kimchi *lunch special combo ($20.99) - I chose the soft tofu soup, which also had small shrimp and clams in it - soup was tasty and could be a meal on its own with some rice - beef was tender

I was craving a home cooked Korean meal and this place hit the spot! I felt like I was having dinner at my grandmas! The Korean side dishes were delicious! I loved the spicy rice cakes and my noodle soup! Will definitely be back.

Came here with my family of 9 and they were able to accommodate us without question! This place has no frills Korean traditional foods. If you are craving Korean food in Tenafly, this place is it.

Before I start telling my horrible experience, to be fair the food here is good.  Majority of staff here are friendly and professional.  This is also why we came back a second time. But something is SERIOUSLY WRONG with one of their young waitresses! She has a huge attitude problem that ruined my entire dinner no matter how nice the food is.   This place has a menu with photos, so when I ordered I pointed to a "noodle soup / kimchi" that I wanted. The waitress repeated "noodle soup", so I said yes.  However, when my order was brought to me it was not the kimchi one, but rather the regular noodle soup.  So, we get a little mix up.  No big deal.  But unfortunately, things just went down the hill from there.  We told our waitress it wasn't what we ordered, expecting simply to hear they will replace it.  Instead we were told we ordered wrong.  And this person repeatedly goes into her recollection of how we ordered wrong.   What really happened is probably just a mix up.  They have 2 noodle soups on the menu.  One placed after another.  I pointed to the kimchi flavored one right below the regular.  She probably saw wrong.  When she repeated if I wanted "noodle soup", of course I said yes.  Both are noodle soups for crying out loud.  That's like going to McDonalds and asking if you ordered a hamburger.   So, to her it wasn't a mix up in communications.  It was our fault.  It couldn't possibility be that maybe she could have confirmed in a clearer way, such as would you like regular or with kimchi.  Personally, there is really no one at fault here when it came with the ordering process.  Just an understandable mix up!   Anyways, we insisted for an exchange.  She goes back and returned telling us, no.  We will need to speak with the owner if we wanted an exchange.  The way she presented this was very condescending. I sat and thought for a while.  But because of her attitude, I just couldn't let it go.  If she was just a bit nice about it, gave some half pleasant excuse on why the noodle couldn't be replaced.  I wouldn't have just ordered another.  It's just a freaking bowl of noodles.   Instead I asked her to get the owner for us.  The funny thing is, when she goes back to the owner and returned, she told us that the owner doesn't speak English, but she will replace the dish.  So, remember the prior conversation where she said we will need to speak with the owner to get dish exchanged?  Why would you say that if the owner doesn't even speak English!?  And even when conveying that the dish will be replaced, that same attitude again.  Really makes me feel like I have nothing better to do, but to rip them off a bowl of noodles.   And it doesn't even end there.  When she returned with the newly made noodles.  She said "ENJOY!"  I can't even start to describe the way she said it.  It was like speaking to some beggar whom just went into their shop, and they had to offer some food to get the beggar out the door.   I sat there, couldn't eat a single bite of that noodle, and while waiting for my husband to finish his food wrote a long message and translated it into Korean.  When we left, I gave my phone to the owner to read so she can know what happened.  I don't know how good Google Translate is, but hopefully I got my point across.  The owner is really nice.  I really don't want to see one of her employees take advantage of her because she doesn't speak English and ruined her business like that.

Excellent neighborhood restart with good amount of choices. Includes options for lunch (weekday only) and dinner (weekend only) packages. Side dishes are refillable. Loved the rice juice that they serve at the end of the meal.

Simple yet great dishes. True korean food. Solid five stars for the food. Lunch combo has a lot of nice side dishes, portions were good, and so as price. Definitely coming back.

We most recently came in on a Friday night with a 6 pm reservation. Yes, we had to flag down one of the harried but cheerful women working here to place our order. But look around - there's not a white tablecloth in sight. You may have to catch someone's eye, and there's nothing wrong with that. By 6:15 pm, half of our order was on the table, and we were gleefully chomping on fried dumplings and pillowy buns. The small but clean and modern space was packed - packed with people, but also with so much happiness. Almost everyone was smiling, laughing, and joking as they tucked into this feel-good array of comfort classics. Jajangmyun, jjampong, khan poong, gochu japchae... all of these traditional dishes sang. Even a simple plate of sauteed vegetables was delicious. And everything spent just seconds between being finished in the kitchen and sitting in front of us. Is it cheap? No, nor should it be. The ingredients are of the freshest, including the seafood. The cooking couldn't be better. And this is no grimy hole in the wall. If it were a French bistro, you'd have no problem with the prices. So pay these fine folks what they deserve, and enjoy.

The hot pot broth is rich and flavorful, not watered down, and pairs perfectly with noodles, seafood, and vegetables. Everything--from bok choy and bean sprouts to seafood like octopus--tastes clean and intentional. What really sets this place apart is the interactive experience. Cooking at the table is smooth and efficient, the equipment works properly (which matters more than people think), and nothing feels chaotic or disorganized.
