The service was consistent, only once did we have to ask for refills for water. Food: we ordered the half and half raw marinated crab, bibimbap, abalone congee and fried oysters. Raw crabs: marinated and seasoned perfectly. We aren't a spicy loving family, but this was perfect amount for us that we could handle the spice. Our lips and mouths burned, but the good tingle, not the fire breathing 911 burn. lol Fried oysters: well battered and fried, nicely aromatic Abalone congee: perfectly textured and the abalone meat and taste was present. This helped offset the spiciness of the crabs. Bibimbap: not your average clay pot type, this was on a plate and with lots of green vegetables. Also delicious! The Bon chon was different and excellent. Variety of different vegetables, pickled and fermented. We enjoyed them all. FYI: there is a small parking lot as well

Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

I was on my own when I stopped for lunch. I do really like bibimbap, rice, vegetables and an egg on top. Today I tried the Kimchi fried rice. Started off, they gave me a huge bowl of kimchi. Next they brought soup and the fried rice with an egg on top. I'm not sure if this the correct way to eat it, I mixed the rice, egg and added plenty of kimchi. Just delicious and way too much for me, so I'll have a snack later.

The restaurant itself has such a cozy, homey vibe - very much a cute grandma and grandpa type of spot that immediately makes you feel warm and fuzzy like at your grandparents. One thing I absolutely loved: they give you an entire pot of kimchi with your order. Not just a few pieces on a small dish, but a whole pot. I wish it was a bit more fermented for my personal taste, but I really appreciate not having to keep asking for refills like at other places. The fried dumplings are a must order! The filling was super juicy and packed with flavor, honestly one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered the classic yukgaejang kalguksu and the ox bone soup, and both were incredibly flavorful. The kalguksu noodles had that perfect chewy texture and paired so well with the rich, spicy yukgaejang broth. Everything felt comforting, like a warm homemade meal straight out of a grandma's kitchen.

I've been searching through various Japanese, Korean,…read moreand Chinese spots, and honestly, there were only two places where I actually liked this kind of stew. However, this restaurant ( MIGAM) completely exceeded my expectations! Everything is made with high-quality ingredients, and they prepared my takeout order exactly as I requested. SPICY BRISKET JJAMPPONG It's a spicy dish, but since spice levels vary from place to place--and being Mexican, I'm used to spicy food--I didn't want to take any chances, so I ordered it medium spicy. They hit the nail on the head! It was absolute perfection. The broth was rich, thick, and packed with flavor--delightful in every single way. The portion size is so generous that it will easily cover two meals, and I'm sharing some with my husband. It came with four sides (banchan), including kimchi, and I can honestly say it's the best kimchi I've ever had in my life--and I've tried Korean food both in Mexico and here in the U.S. I first visited this restaurant in Tenafly over a year ago when I believe they were just starting out. Back then, I met a woman who I believe is the owner. I am so glad to see they still maintain that same phenomenal quality! They cook with such attention to detail that I no longer have to worry about looking for another place to get this kind of food. Thank you so much, blessings, and congratulations on the wonderful work and dedication you put into preparing the most delicious Korean dishes I've ever tasted. See you very soon!

It seems like they only really have two people on staff, so be patient! The staff is very nice and try their best. But especially if three or more tables are filled - food will take awhile to arrive. The menu has a lot of standard Korean fare - Korean pancakes, bibimbops, noodle soups (black bean noodles, jjampong, kalguksu) and stews (galbi tang, bulgogi stew). The seafood pancake has more veggies and seafood than pancake. I've had the galbi tang twice, which is also hearty and packed with a lot of goodies. Worth a trip if you happen to be wandering around the Tenafly area. We will likely be back.
