Lil Banana Milk for the win!

We were traveling through the area and we popped in for a quick bite. The young lady at the counter was super nice and the meal was quite tasty. This little gem was the perfect spot to share some classic simple Korean eats.

It was such a pleasure to dine here! The service was a solid 10/10, hands down. The woman working was extremely kind and welcoming. She greeted us immediately with a warm smile and served us hot tea. The restaurant is clean and well lit with natural light, and there are heaters under the tables to help keep you warm during these colder days. We ordered the Chicken Katsu Sandwich and a Spicy Pork Bento Box. The chicken katsu in the sandwich was delicious, with the perfect crisp and flavorful seasoning. However, the toasted bread made the overall texture a bit too hard and crunchy to enjoy fully. The Spicy Pork Bento Box was a perfect portion for a filling lunch. It included a good amount of meat with great flavor and was not overwhelmingly spicy. The salad was fresh, and the kimchi was absolutely delicious. The potstickers/dumplings were okay--not a flavor I particularly enjoyed & the miso soup was a bit cold. Overall, I had a lovely lunch here and will happily return again!

Recently tried the chicken katsu sandwich and while I'm used to pork sandos, having it in chicken was a nice surprise. It was tender, juicy, and a great price to boot. Pretty filling all on its own and doesn't come with anything else but we did get to try the housemade chicken dumplings on the side and they were great too. Service was very attentive and overall a seamless dine-in experience. Hope to return and try other menu items!

Attractive little restaurant diverse menu. Today I just tried the O!Dang! original Kimbap which was freshly made, delicious. From the first bite I knew it was exceptional Presented in a very nice custom box.

Locally owned gem! The staff is really friendly and makes you feel like family. The place is really cozy and was able to pleasantly enjoy my lunch. The chicken is spectacular and I didn't expect to eat a full 20 pieces! I was also accommodated with tea and a side of radish to cleanse my palette. A little bit pricey but definitely would come back again to try more!

It's good to try new things. It's isn't Mama Hen's fault that I'm not a kimbap fan. Her service is amazing. The edamame and wings were delicious. Will have to come another day when they have the homemade peach iced tea in stock.

Mama Hen House is such a gem! I was craving kimbap and Korean fried chicken, and my husband suggested Mama Hen House. We ordered take-out, but still, the service was impeccable and the price was super reasonable. I look forward to ordering from here again!

I was looking for a quick meal before heading to Newark and Mama Hen's caught my eye. Their food was delicious-- very flavorful and exactly like what I had when living in Korea. I sampled their pajeon (seafood pancake) that was perfectly crispy and accompanied by the perfect sweet-savory-spicy sauce, as well as their spicy pork and bulgogi bento boxes. Their portion sizes were great especially with the banchan (side dishes). I got a kimbap (Korean rice roll) to go and it was the perfect dinner before my flight.

This is the real deal. Everything here is certified tasty. Kimbap one of the best and i would argue better than anything over in palpark. Fried chicken is also amazing like everything else on the menu.

My family stumbled upon Mama Hen House this past weekend and had such a lovely experience. You can tell that the restaurant is wonderfully new because the interior feels fresh, clean, and really well kept. The menu had so many good options to choose from and I really appreciated that the prices were reasonable. I got a spicy pork bento box that was delicious and came with many fresh and tasty sides. Our waitress (who I believe owns the restaurant?) was so warm as well. One thing I definitely want to emphasize is that this restaurant was extremely kid friendly! The restaurant had a Stokke type high chair for my youngest that was super clean and comfortable for him. There were so many options for my kids on the menu between kimbaps and even dino nuggets. Lastly, when bringing out all our food, the waitress brought out the cutest utensil sets for our kids to eat with. Overall, we had such a wonderful experience and felt that the Mama Hen House team has been so thoughtful in caring for their diners. Will definitely be back soon!

Hi Jenny, thank you for reaching back out.

Hi Jenny, thanks for responding. I had the wrong date and I remember buying 2 orders of chicken a large coleslaw and a drink. Thanks again for responding

I've been here twice already. Great spot. It's sit-down service kind of. Byob too by the way. It's a family run place with the daughter at the register and the parents cooking with love in the back. They're all very friendly The interior has potential but could be improved with some paint and more matching tables and chairs. It's a more casual vibe. The kimbaps and wings are the stars of the place. The Korean wings are small but mighty in flavor Love the honey glaze wings they were excellent. I normally get spicy but my girlfriend can't take spice so I compromised but trust me they were excellent. We had three different kinds of kimbap. The bulgogi, the shrimp tempura and spicy pork. All were good but the spicy pork was my favorite. They also give free Cole slaw with every yelp check in. Cole slaw is fantastic too. Everything we had was amazing I think the kimbaps are the best value. But to tell the truth everything was worth the price You must come here you won't regret it. They also have a frequent customer card which they'll give you if you ask. After 10 visits you get a free kimbaps. Pretty cool. If this helped hit the useful button and follow me. You're welcome Yelp and remember, be nice to each other.

ATMOSPHERE (5/5) - Clean, no non-sense vibe that leans utilitarian but hey, you're here for quick bite! 2. FOOD (5/5) - Chicken was juicy, well-seasoned (not too salty!) with right amount of heat (I ordered medium spicy and taste was bolder and better vs. wife's mild which felt a bit bland) and their pickle gave a nice counterbalance. Fries were slightly "old" but full of potato flavor with that peanut oil, and the rice, the RICE in my bowl... together with the mild coleslaw (not too sweet, heavy-sauced, or acidic) was just... making symphony in my mouth. It was seriously delicious... rice... like what?! It had like that subtle halal flavor, gentle bite, and carried sauce well. So while I thought I'd never say this, I enjoyed the rice platter version of the Nashville hot chicken over the sandwich version. Sandwich version was ever so slightly dry in comparison as well. 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Only docking point because it took a bit long (15 min) for this type of food, but my man at the counter was very nice and hooked me up with free soda. He also mentioned royalty program which I misheard as telling me to pick any beverage (wife told me later), which was a nice touch. (Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude!) All in all with leftover to spare for next lunch, this was a surprisingly great meal. I'll definitely be back to try the smashed burgers! I never knew they were here though the guy told me they've been here for a few years at least... Well, now I know! I've heard it was voted one of the top 10 chicken spots in Jersey and after just one bite, I completely understand why. We ordered the chili chicken alongside the dish of kimchi fried rice, which has bacon, egg, and cheese and the combination was pure perfection. The chili chicken had that ideal, crispy, crunchy, exterior smothered, and a sweet, spicy, and sticky sauce that kept us reaching for more. Each piece was amazingly juicy on the inside without feeling greasy or overly heavy. The kimchi fried rice was equally fantastic, packed with savory, smoky flavor, and just enough to kick balance out of the meal. The portion sizes were generous, making it really easy to share everything family style. The service was warm, quick and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. If you are a fan of authentic, perfectly executed Korean, fried chicken and comforting side dishes, this place is absolutely must visit.

And since I prefer white meat, the dry white meat parts were literally tough to swallow. The white radish was aged well, perhaps too well, so it didn't have the crisp crunch we've come to expect. There were several things these guys did well that give me hope for a possible next visit. First, the sauce for the sweet chilli chicken was on point, and theirs is the sauce-y kind which I like. One of the three sides, the rice cakes, was my favourite part of the whole meal. The rice cakes were tender and a perfect bite size, and the sauce was the right blend of sweet and spicy that doesn't hurt my stomach. The dining room is nice and open, and decor was surprisingly whimsical (pictured). The vinyl glove was a nice touch and saved me from using utensils to get meat off the bones. I'd consider going back. When I do, I expect a solid 5-star experience.

Every time someone sang its praises, I had to wonder, 'Really? The best fried chicken comes out of THAT space?' Because every time I passed by it, it looked quiet or closed or both. But don't let appearances fool you. It's very, very good. To get straight to it, the wings are the way to go here. I ordered both the wings and the boneless tenders to give this place the old college try, and while the tenders are impressive in size and heft (and I personally like them because I don't have to work around a bone), I found the wings to be far more tender and flavorful. I also found that the tenders were far quicker to lose their fried crunchification. I also tried both the soy garlic and sweet and spicy flavors, and both are incredible. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose one, I'd have to pick the soy garlic, but I love the way these sauces aren't lathered onto each piece. There's just enough brushed on so that you can appreciate both the flavor and the texture of the chicken. The fries here are the wedge type. Think KFC, but fresher and less salty. Also, don't sleep on the pickled veg. I know it sounds nuts to buy pickled veggies from a fried chicken place, but it's a staple for classic Korean fried chicken dinners to cleanse the greasy palate with something acidic. I love the medley of veg they use here, and I loved the pickling juice so much, I actually found myself sipping it between bites (don't judge me). There's a small parking lot on the side of the building that might accommodate three or four cars at most. And that might be by design, because three or four parties is probably the most that could dine in this tiny restaurant. But as many have already shared, the owners here are so sweet and friendly, it's a gift to spend any amount of time with them, even in this teacup-sized dining room. Those who choose to takeout or deliver will be pleased to know that Peck Peck Chicken knows how to to package freshly fried things correctly - that is, with intentionally aerated containers so that you won't lose all that beautiful crisp as the food makes its way home.
