A very good option for Southern food. If you order friend chicken, they make it fresh and yell out if anyone else wants some! Gotta love fried chicken made to order, and accompanied by delicious sides. We got the potato salad and the collard greens and both were good. It's a friendly, clean atmosphere with great staff. And the friend chicken is worth having to find parking. I recommend.

Amazing simple as that! I was driving through and I stopped at the Exxon gas station down the street and asked the attendant a great place to go for soul food, and he said that is the only place! The street is busy and it's on the corner easy to see! When you go in it's quaint and reminds you of a southern classic soul food restaurant The staff is very nice and guided me through the menu and from the photos you see it's on the next level of great! Amazing job team! Love it AA 5 stars! And paired well with Amour Geneve! Thank you Coviello Salinès Amour Geneve

Stellar food every time. They catered our last few parties and the food is always a hit. Affordable home cookin that they really put their foot in (that's the saying right?!) Baked chicken, smothers pork chops, turkey, meatloaf, collard greens, green beans, sweet potato, fried chicken... all taste so good, I may go get some Maggie's for lunch right now. BRB.

Stopped to Maggie's on Sunday afternoon. Located on the corner of Teaneck Rd, it's easy to find and there is street parking. Atmosphere: there is gospel music playing and a few tables and a counter area to eat. Now to the service and the food. Attitude!!! Definitely not friendly and we even added a tip at checkout. We ordered 2 meals and dined in. Meatloaf dinner with macaroni and cheese and collard greens, and a fried fish dinner with same sides. The meatloaf was a hunk of meat mixture with a runny liquid on top that tasted like ketchup. The collard greens were just ok, no seasoning and the macaroni was bland but salty, minimal cheese and was pale in color. The fried fish was cooked to order, the portion was decent and tasted good. Dinners come with cornbread. There are canned sodas and water available. Restroom wasn't clean, there was soap but no paper towels.

I ordered delivery and got the fried fish with mac, greens, and yams. Let me tell you, everything was seasoned perfectly! I am a long time Teaneck native that's since moved to a neighboring town. But best believe I will keep Maggie's as my go to soul food fix!

Okay I'm no expert on southern cooking but I just love comfort food and this place delivered. My colleague recommended it as he has been coming for years. We were able to find some tables to sit at. Yes, the decor is nothing to go on about - it looks almost like a Chinese take out joint. However, the staff was super friendly as I decided on my order. Also, the prices are really decent!! I got the fried chicken (which was juicy and had crispy skin still on it -- and it was hot), mac & cheese (pretty good), and collard greens (AMAZING). My colleague had the BBQ ribs (really good), collard greens (again, AMAZING), and yams (OUT OF THIS WORLD). My lunch special was about $7. He got the dinner portion for about $10. Also, they have amazing specials like pigs feet and ox tail, which I have to come back and try. OH and every meal comes with corn bread, which was delicious. I was so full after my lunch portion. I had one bite of my cornbread and packed it into my purse for a late afternoon snack!

Inconsistent quality in food preparation. It has everything you would want in a soul food spot though.

Terrible service. Lady taking orders didn't want to be bothered; very annoyed. Very little options from menu available. Give it up!

I will ALWAYS only start with their Iced Shakerato (organic espresso and brown sugar). I cannot recommend this drink, enough. Yes, even in the winter! We started with the Edamame Dumplings (white truffle oil, dashi, Thai basil, sesame seeds), Charred Cauliflower (medjool dates, harissa tahini, dill, mint, pistachio), the Seasonal Roasted Butternut Squash Soup (garnished with sage). All these starters were consumed within seconds, were at optimal temperatures, and the sauce that covered each cauliflower was exquisite. The entrees were: Ancient Grains Bowl (organic grains, miso sesame glazed sweet potato, charred onions, snap peas, portobello, avocado, pistachio pesto, hemp seeds, turmeric) and the Chicken Tender Plate (four tenders served with simple salad). The Grains Bowl was packed with healthy and tasty ingredients and the Chicken Tenders were only lightly battered, soft to chew, and came with four large pieces. I will, most definitely, be a happy return customer to True Food Kitchen and it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Ohhhhh.... ONE MORE THING AND PLEASE, KEEP IN MIND.....one of the reasons I visited was for the Chia Seed Pancakes, but their brunch menu is ONLY served "during weekends," from open until 3:00 PM.

The service was ok this time around. I originally ordered the rancher's hash which over easy eggs instead of sunny side since I'm expecting and want to make sure to eat foods that are well cooked instead of under, but it came with sunny side anyway. The avocado looked like it was going bad and still had the skin on it...I've never seen an avocado served like that in a restaurant before...almost bad and with the skin still on it. I also wasn't aware it would have steak slices as it doesn't specify that in the description of the rancher's hash so I assumed it'd be crumbled ground beef...either way, the bowl itself didn't look as appetizing as it sounded in the description. I opted to switch to the grass fed burger I had my first visit here and it was ok, first time was definitely better than this time around and the air fried fries were ok, most of them underneath the initial picture look and tasted overcooked which was another disappointment. I enjoyed with my lavender matcha, Margherita sourdough pizza (YUM!) and the brussel sprouts for our starters. This visit was certainly disappointing on Mother's Day. I really want to recommend and keep coming back for the fact that it's health consciousness menu but don't want to pay for 'just ok' food either...nor recommend a place that's just ok.

Seeing how popular this dish is in Seoul I thought it be best to try it in Fort Lee. We ordered a small and my only complaint is that I wished the crabs had some roe. The menu also offers amazing homemade style Korean stews. I would come back just for their Gul Gookbap (oysters, seaweed soup w/radish, chive, mushroom, tofu & egg). Service: 10/10. The gracious owner came by often to give us lots of napkins, refill a couple of our banchans and asked how we were enjoying our meal. I got excited when he gave us a complimentary delicious egg dish. The area in Teaneck where the restaurant is located has a free shoppers parking lot nearby. One we entered we were hit with very loud music to the point where the host could not hear me and kept telling me he didnt see our reservation. Finally i spotted our name and off to our table we went. The restaurant is small and was very packed. The staff definitely works hard maneuvering around the restaurant and serving guest. We did realize that our reservation time was in the middle of their Sunday single and mingle event which was why the DJ was present and the music was louder than the normal. When the event wrapped and the DJ left i think it turned much more pleasant in the dining with overhead music playing and we were able to talk to one another. Our waitress Jade was so wonderful. She took our order and apologized for the wait time (we didnt mind) and treated us to complimentary shots which was nice of her. I love the tablet menus especially for those of us who can see the menu without glasses, the bright tablet with nice pics of the food and drinks is a nice touch. Now lets get to the food......OMG Amazing!!!!!!!!! Literally the best soulfood i have had at a restaurant in a very very long time. I had the catfish with Mac n cheese, Yams and Greens. Every bit of it was sooo flavorful. Perfectly seasoned!! I was in heaven! The portions are huge that we took food home. My husband had the fried chicken and i usually dont like the breast meat this chicken was not dry at all!!!!! They have a nice cocktail menu and they are perfectly crafted. A bit on the pricey side but i did enjoy it! I highly recommend this establishment!!!! I am still thinking about this meal 4 days later!! I need to come back soon maybe during the week when its a bit quieter.
