Bulgogi Kimcheese Fries (front) & Bulgogi Roll (back)
    Andy L.

I was excited to try this new Korean fusion takeout spot. Featuring apps, bowls, ramens, and tacos, I knew I had to try the fusion-est items: bulgogi kimcheese fries and the bulgogi roll. On top of their menu, they have a whole ready-to-go section with cold Korean banchan and prepared dishes including jeon, bossam, muk, dduk, and so much more. Plus they had a sign for "buy 3 soups, get $1 off each soup". Back to the takeout, it was ready in about 15 minutes. There's nowhere to eat inside and I don't know if that'll change in the future but they give you everything you need for your meal: utensils, napkin, and soup if your order is eligible. The fries were hot & great, not dry at all, and the kimchi & bulgogi on top were flavored perfectly. This app was honestly the highlight and could even serve as a light meal or snack by itself. The bulgogi roll was okay. I'm not sure what I expected but "it is what it is"... definitely could've benefited from proportional ingredients (or maybe just less rice). It did come with a side salad though. But an overall great experience here so my score gets rounded up! Props to the lady who helped with the order.

I found this place on Uber Eats one night and have been ordering from them ever since. They offer delicious Korean fusion food. I love their bowls and tacos. Portions are very generous and priced well. Taco Tuesday gets you 3 large tacos for under 8 bucks! There's no seating so takeout only. Worth trying if you are ever in the area or just get it delivered. I really like they way they pack their tacos with partitions so they don't come apart for get really messy during transport.

Only tried the ready to go beef - beef stewed in sweet soy sauce with hard boiled egg and a shiitake pepper. Very flavorful and the beef was tender.

I had already ordered twice from Eastern Kitchen and both times the food were amazing. Prices of their food were affordable and the options on their menu were simple yet vast. Portion sizes for their KOCO bowls were huge, I would always have leftovers for the next day. Inside of restaurant is nice and clean with a bunch of Korean food in display to choose from. Definitely will be ordering from them again. I'm planning on trying their whole menu and grab some side dishes while I'm there.

This place only does take-out and the menu is limited but they have some good Korean tacos. They offer 3 bulgogi tacos for $5 on taco Tuesdays. I prefer the spicy pork tacos though. It's a couple more $$ but the flavor is worth it.

Absolutely delicious food, have made to order items that come out quickly and have generous portions sizes. Also have ready made to go meals and korean side dishes, and a great selection of Korean snacks and drinks. Love it as a quick lunch spot, very limited currently though. But I had no problem eating in the lot or back at my office.

I got the yubu unagi and my friend got the yubu ikura. Both were really good, the rice used was very flavorful. It was a great appetizer. My friend loves fish roe and she said hers was very good. They are known for dipping ramen, but I didn't get that. I got the tonkotsu broth Ajitama because I didn't want that much meat and I wanted to make sure I got an egg. The broth was delicious, not too salty but very rich and umami in flavor. I love the addition of wood ear mushroom and the noodles had a great chewy texture. They have some claw machines in the front, it's $5 minimum spend which gets you 5 coins, each machine is one coin and there is one machine that gives you two tries for one coin. I ended up getting a prize! Not the one I wanted but was happy.

Sadly, the noodles were so overcooked they staged a rebellion, stubbornly sticking together into one dense, doughy ball before we could even dip them properly. The Chashu didn't fare much better--it was about 60% fat to 40% meat, which isn't a "premium cut" so much as a "choose-to-skip" cut. Worst of all was the kid's bowl: my daughter rejected it after a single salty sip (and kids are basically sodium vacuums). Overall, the quality has plummeted since our last visit. Guess some reunions just aren't meant to be.

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

Broth for the ramen mediocre, spicy noodles overcooked and tasted like a cheap Thai restaurant. But what really bothered me was the slow and confused service. Ordered a bowl of Ramen which took over 45 minutes to make. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and the only reason I can think of was the take out orders during lunch time. The waiters were moving around the restaurant a lot but kept forgetting to bring drinks from the bar or dishes from the kitchen. So drinks weren't cold and food wasn't warm enough. Noodles stretched out and without the correct texture. Overall very disappointing. Especially considering the previous Tampopo and the one on187th.

I also enjoy the kitchen apps and entrées- the miso eggplant and agedashi tofu are great appetizers. The salmon teriyaki is always perfectly cooked and accompanied by fresh vegetables. As other reviewers have mentioned- the construction of the rolls can suffer at times- for me this usually looks like 1 at most 2 pieces losing their integrity when I pick them up. My friends and I agree that this is Riverdale, not A sushi hotspot desitation and we would rather sacrifice a point on the physical construction /proper sushi technique than go somewhere else that has beautiful perfectly rolled sushi- with less fresh fish or rolls that are more rice than filling. Also- the sushi IS good! I usually go for salmon, tuna and a sweet potato tempura roll The lunch specials (monday-saturday until 3:15 pm) are a really good deal and come with pretty good miso soup and a fresh side salad. I am appreciative that they run a little later in the day as well. Aoyu has always been very reasonable abt modifications- there is no upcharge for brown rice for lunch bento- easy to request veggie instead of pork gyoza, and I really don't like crab- imitation or otherwise- so they always let me sub a cucumber avocado roll instead. We've gotten the combos with salmon sashimi, katsu, curry, chicken egg bowl, and the beef bowl. All were good, just depends on what you're craving that day for a little extra something on the side from your soba. And we ALWAYS get their cucumber appetizer. We love our cucumber apps, so we usually get it at every restaurant if it's on the menu, but azuma makes it THE BEST. We also had their okonomiyaki one time.
