Busy time during lunch! Lots students come here for lunch break. The staff are very nice and helpful. Self service to order and put the tray away. But if they are not busy, they will come and take the tray for you. Good menu size for the restaurant and population. It offers fried rice, ramen, rice platters etc. Bottle drinks in the fridge as well. Many tables for dine in, lots people do take out as well. You can sit comfortably. Clean environment. read more

Soooo good!!! I'd walked in recently and tried to grab a takeout menu but there were none so I lost the urge but since it's close and looked good, I tried again and just ordered a few things. My goto order usually involves a pork tonkatsu and for the first time, it was a home run, absolutely delicious. We ordered soup and vegetable dumplings (wonderful!) .... I wanted to try this spot for lunch and called in my order. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki and vegetable dumplings. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted by the nice lady. I paid and waited a few more minutes for my food. I left when it was ready. When I got in I dug in and bit into my dumpling and found pork in the dumpling . Let's just say I couldn't eat it. The shrimp teriyaki was pretty decent though. Got takeout here and was happy with the food. I got a Short rib Teriyaki, a Chicken Teriyaki, and a mixed Tempura. The two Teriyaki bowls were particularly tasty. The meat was tender, juicy, and had great flavor. The Teriyaki sauce goes perfectly with the steamed white rice. Portion size was also bigger than I thought they would be. Woah. you got to have faith to open during covid-19 pandemic but that is what Miso Teriyaki has done, abet takeout only for now due to Government Regulations. I got the shrimp fried rice, but also comes in beef, chicken and veggie is is the white style not brown. And of course you got to get the Shrimp Tempura but they offer the veggie version too. The staff is typically really nice but be warned never come during rush hour. We were mid order when the phone rang and the lady taking our order interrupted us and put in the order from the call, this happened like 4 times afterwards. Since I found Miso Teriyaki on DoorDash and they give you the option of choosing White Meat Chicken I've been ordering 3-4 times a week! The chicken teriyaki is the most delicious dish I've ever had. The chicken is fresh, never tastes gamy and is seasoned perfectly. I always order extra protein, which is chicken breast for me. Yakisoba noodles with vegetables is outstanding. The vegetable gyoza are perfectly fried and not greasy. The dipping sauce is delicious. They are closed on Sundays so by Monday afternoon I find myself ordering again. It's that good. This is unbelievable to me. We order from here all the time and although the service isn't great and they get overwhelmed easily we have enjoyed the food until recently. Tonight I placed a $140 order. Shrimp ramen plain (1 shrimp in the dish). Not plain but super spicy Chicken ramen also super spicy instead of plain Grilled salmon. Overcooked to death... So I call the restaurant. They tell me to pour milk in the soup as that might make it less spicy and " they must of been an error with the shrimp". I ask if they can fix it. They say. "No" too busy so I should just complain on the app... I tell them I am going to leave a review that is negative and the woman on the phone says " that's ok" I then told her we will never order again if they can't fix it and she said. Miso Teriyaki has been on my radar for about a month now, and I've finally made the drive over. Knowing where it is = super dangerous for my eating habits because it's so GOOD. I ordered miso soup and spicy chicken teriyaki with brown rice. In pics, the portion size looks small. Wrong! It's a generous portion of meat and rice, artfully presented. It sort of reminded me of ying and yang. The teriyaki sauce was perfectly balanced between sweet, savory and spicy. I guess you can call it umami without the MSG. Extra sauce was included in the container. The miso soup was warm and filling, and it had carrots, mini tofu and scallions. My meal also included a delightfully packaged house salad with a dressing on the side. Prices are beyond reasonable for the amount of food one is getting, and ordering via phone was seamless. The owner was so sweet and friendly, and she had the same vibe when I walked in. She was so warm and welcoming. She literally reminded me of *that* mom who is nice to everyone and has snacks available. Parking is ample, and the decor inside is neat and modern. This is no Sarku Japan over here. This place is a gemstone only few doorsteps away from my residence. It is like finding a needle in the haystack experiencing authentic Teriyaki places in the east coast. Miso has the most authentic west coast style house Teriyaki sauce that is finely blended: Kikkoman soy sauce, mirin(rice wine), and their secret ingredients. I am evaluating their dishes in 2 categories: value and luxury. The chicken teriyaki is the most affordable with decent portion- the meat is juicy and charbroiled. My all time pick is their rib teriyaki, a lateral cut beef rib. The greasy taste from marblings is compensated with their juicy and tasteful house blend sauce. The caveat is that frozen cut rib occasionally has chewy texture, but their secret sauce tenderized meat- the owner said "one of the tropical fruit". (Can't give you guys anything more) Their yakisoba may be debatable. They serve the dish with 'the al dante texture'(less cooked). Well, you can customize your order if you like the fully cooked texture ahead. (YMMV) The owner and employees are personable and friendly, and they are eager to serve for long term in the community of Tenafly and Bergen County. I highly recommend this place if you are seeking for the authentic west coast Teriyaki place, and I am committed to become their long term customer. Love this place with my whole heart. They were so sweet over the phone, and their food is as good as it sounds. The chicken katsu was super crispy, but was really enhanced by the sauce that came with it. Their beef teriyaki, which although might not look like much, was SUPER FLAVORFUL (a pleasant surprise), as were the ribs. All of these dishes were served with a huge serving of rice, so you will probably have leftover rice for the next day, which I definitely don't mind. The salad was great too. I enjoyed the chicken yakisoba - the charred chicken was well-prepared. The noodles were slightly undercooked for my taste, but it really didn't inhibit me from enjoying it at all. Ordered take out through doordash. Food was made quickly (delivery was also prompt). I went with the recs found on the other reviews: chicken yakisoba, chicken teriyaki, spicy chicken (teriyaki), and shrimp fried rice. Everything was delish. I don't even like shrimp and I devoured the leftover shrimp fried rice. The kids loved the chicken teriyaki. The dishes come with a good amount of veggies which I appreciated (for the teriyaki the veggies are placed as a side). The food was carefully cooked and put together-- almost lovingly. The teriyaki came with extra sauce on the side which was nice/thoughtful. It was unnecessary but still! Another great thing is the food keeps well in the fridge and is just as great the next day. Absolutely stellar place. The interior is gorgeous and the location has nice amounts of parking right in front of it. I got the beef, spicy chicken, and chicken katsu teriyaki all with white rice and house salads. All three were well packed, made, and arranged inside their containers with the sauces included for each one. All three were delicious and worth ordering again. The staff was also very courteous. I asked my colleague if she could recognize whether or not this was a Korean owned Japanese place or an actual Japanese owned. This is important sometimes since I think Japanese owned would take pride in how they prepare their ramen: Korean owned, not so much. Needless to say, I paid about $11 for a watered-down instant Jin Ramen with 2 pieces of thawed shrimp presented in a decent paper to-go bowl. Their LA Galbi (should've been a dead giveaway) wasn't bad but portions are tiny. I wouldn't mind the portion but when you're being charged about as much as a restaurant in Pal Park for half the portion...well, only idiots will continue to buy and there are many of those (sorta off-topic but do a search for Orgone and you'll see what I mean. Dumb folks). With that said, still 2 stars since there aren't many pick up places near me and I don't want them spitting in my next order...I could use Uber or Grubhub but the robbery...even this place uses Seamless, I think, but the menu prices there are typically $2.50 more since we're basically paying for the delivery commission plus delivery fee and tip.
