They have delivery service, which means your food arrives freshly made at the perfect temperature (if you're not too far away). -My husband usually orders Sesame Chicken w/ brown rice, and this time -I ordered one of the chef's specialities : Diced White Chicken with cashews, nuts, walnuts, peanuts, and vegetables. The dish was delicious. It had a sweet-and-slightly-spicy garlic sauce or dressing that, combined with all the ingredients I mentioned, created a blend of mild soft but firm delicious flavors. Wow! I was super satisfied and had half the dish left over( I will use it for lunch at my Job). It came with rice. ( I choose brown). My compliments to this team as always. Americanized Chinese food is usually similar from restaurant to restaurant. That being said, I've had some horrible Chinese food that was oily and lacked seasoning from some other places and was nervous to try Tea Garden for the first time today. We got hot and sour soup, house special chow fun, broccoli with mushrooms and sha cha chicken...it was delivered. First, the delivery was on time and the delivery man was super friendly. Now on to the food... The hot and sour soup was awesome. Not overwhelmingly spicy to the point your eyes are tearing. Some may like it that spicy but we don't. It had just enough spiciness and a really good flavor. The chow fun was good but had beef/shrimp/chicken instead of pork/shrimp/chicken, which is fine but I'm not a huge fan of beef and never saw it in anything labeled house special. The broccoli and mushrooms was in the usual brown sauce but was seasoned well and wasn't very oily. The sha cha chicken is very similar to chicken with broccoli but with extra veggies. We thought it would be something unique but it's not. It was really good though, the veggies were crisp and also didnt have alot of oil. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because they are very stingy with the sauces. We only received one of each. We also didnt get any forks. Overall we enjoyed the food. This place will be added to the very few Chinese restaurants we now order from regularly. read more

Gave this spot another chance years later hoping it'd be different. Again, if you're gonna do takeout or delivery, it would be wise to give utensils and napkins. Also I got the Kung Pao chicken and the chicken is non existent. The ones that were in there were cubes of frozen chicken. They actually look more like fried tofu. I'm at a loss for words. read more

I love going to this place! I live in Teaneck so it's not too close to us. I like there food so much that I have driven there just to get take out for my family. I'm also excited any time I am in the area around lunch time because I love to go there for lunch. The service is great, the owner that works at the counter is very nice, and it's some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. I highly recommend the General Chows chicken! Not good. Food is not tasty. We ordered run of the mill items and were let down in each and every item. Boneless ribs managed to be both fatty and dry. All other meat dishes were dry and bland. This was a horrible experience.. I ordered my dinner to be delivered with the rudest person. They delivered it 1 hour later, wrong item delivered. I tried calling to tell them of the error thy either would not pick up, put me on hold and then hang up on me. My brief dining experience at Tea Garden occurred during the aftermath of a big blackout, so I'll omit the slowness of the service from this review until I visit again in the future. Overall, I'd say that the food in general is better than average. I had the beef and broccoli, sesame chicken, and the egg roll and I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. My only worry is that the portion sizes seem a little smaller than what I'm used to at other Chinese American restaurants and there seems to be a slight discrepancy between the dine-in portions and the take-out portions, especially with the servings of rice. They're also a little more expensive. Still, the quality and taste as a whole was satisfactory. 4/5 read more

Tried this Chinese restaurant earlier today and was impressed. At first, I was there alone but I needed to wait 5 minutes by the register and finally had to call out for somebody to notice me. Clearly, the best Chinese Take Out in the area from Fort Lee to Rockland. Each of their dishes is unique. They have the best dim sum and steamed dumplings pretty much anywhere. This place is great. It's the 'cleanest' Chinese food I've ever had and it doesn't leave me feeling bloated and lethargic after eating it. For this area, fine attempt at dim sum even though the shapes were different from the Chinatown in NYC. Light, not-too-greasy dumplings and entrees. "No utensils" poster must not live in the area. Quite frankly the best Chinese food in Bergen County. Everything i ordered was delicious from the steamed dumplings, seafood soup, sticky noodles, boneless spare ribs and chicken with vegetables. It wasn't overloaded with sodium and I never got an msg headache after eating. Portions aren't huge so we finished everything and unfortunately no leftovers. This place had horrible customer service! They brought the wrong soup. I asked for wonton eggdrop and they bought eggdrop. When I called to ask them, nicely, to fix it--they give me so much hassle. First saying I was wrong which is, poor customer service, then they said that I would have to pay an upcharge--again terrible customer service. And then the driver refused to bring it out!! They should be informing the driver of where he is to go and should have made him bring it out, as they had gotten the order wrong. I had to agree to tip him. So mad at this place. My co-workers and I ripped up the menu. We will be ordering from Mr. Wok in the future. I recommend everyone go there. At least they write down the order properly. read more
