If you're looking for American Chinese food this is the spot. I'm looking back at my first review and it seems a bit harsh. I don't know it was a long time ago but they have been consistently solid. They are super friendly on the phone and in person, the prices are decent and the portions are solid. Everything is pretty tasty and does the job. The one thing that I would stay away from is the lo mein. I've tried it a few times and it's the only thing that in my opinion there's never hitting the mark. Their pork fried rice is great. One little tip/observation if you order chicken wings appetizer it's super expensive. My favorite American Chinese food take out place, possibly ever. So why only the 4 stars? The place isn't the cleanest, the staff isn't the friendliest, and it's the type of place where you constantly hear horror stories like cooks in the back (it's an open kitchen and you see it right from the register) dipping their bare hands into vats of cracked eggs to fish stuff out... but if you're willing to overlook all of that (idk if the stories are true as I've never witnessed it myself, but my friends claim it to be - and they still love the place regardless) the food is delicious! I've never been able to find an American Chinese take out place as good. The establishment is not fancy, and definitely not sparkly clean, but they package their food well. They offer services on the delivery apps, but I like to directly give places my business, so when I call the employee who answers is never friendly, but they always get my order correct and the estimated time for pick up is always accurate. And the prices are very fair. They also have a simple set up in the front where you can take your take out and eat it there outdoors if you please - great for this current covid-19 times, but it's also regularly used otherwise. They have so many things on the menu, so if you need some suggestions, my favorites are: beef chow fun, sweet and sour pork, happy family and their hot and sour soup! Worst Chinese food I have ever tasted! I got takeout from Good Taste and discovered the real name should be Bad Taste. This was the only time in my life that I have thrown out a takeout order. I admittedly ate some because I was very hungry , and am now afraid I will be sick tomorrow. We ordered a shrimp dish which smelled awful and tasted worse! The vegetable fried rice tasted and smelled like old Wesson oil that has been in the cabinet for a couple of years , and the boneless ribs were chewy, hard and burned. I haven't eaten from this place since the 90's and I ordered delivery yesterday. The woman on the phone was short and quick taking my order (typical for a Chinese takeout place). My delivery came in less than 15 minutes (I live about a mile from here). The delivery guy was weird in the sense that he just took my money and left. My bill came to $18.48 and I gave him a coupon for $2 off with a $20 bill. He said okay and walked away. What if I wanted change? I didn't, but I never said that. Anyway, I ordered 2 Roast Pork Egg Rolls (big and tasty), House Special Wontons (really really good. The sauce is great and they give you a lot of wontons), a pint of Hot & Sour soup (tasty but needed more heat), and the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce with Pork Fried Rice (old skool lobster sauce with ground pork and HUGE shrimp). I love that this place doesn't put peas in their delicious fried rice or lobster sauce (I hate peas) - back in the day Chinese places usually didn't, but most do now. Another important thing for me was that their rice wasn't yellow (I hate that a lot of places use yellow rice). Overall I really enjoyed my food (and enjoying the leftovers today). A couple of notes: they charge $1 for delivery, even though I ordered egg rolls they didn't throw duck sauce or hot mustard in my bag (just hot sauce and soy), and they charge $.75 for hot & sour soup if you get it with the lunch special (lunch specials come with egg drop soup or wonton soup - a lot of places charge to upgrade to the hot & sour soup). read more

four words: HAIR. IN. MY. WONTON. The takeout tasted delicious for a while.. we'd have it delivered to us frequently. Until one day we happened to be in the area and I noticed just how dirty this place is. They do NOT wear hats or hair nets here.. but I brushed it off and continued going because it was so good. A week later, I ordered again and I found an actual piece of HAIR within my wonton. It was so traumatic (lol if you'd seen a piece of hair interlaced in the meat you were about to consume you'd be, too) that I couldn't eat takeout for weeks after until another place nearby made me realize my fear rooted from ordering here. Never again.. attached is a photo for your viewing pleasure. If you look closely, you'll see that the hair in the meat starts outside and then it goes within the ball to come out again towards the bottom. I missed good old fashioned American style Chinese food and this place hit the spot right on. Boneless pork ribs has good chewy texture and has good sweet flavor not too salty. It almost has a texture of nice pork jerky which I love. The sesame chicken was great as well. Perfectly fried with light coating of batter. It was not greasy at all as others have said. Shrimp with garlic sauce was really good as well. Most Chinese restaurants use tiny baby shrimps but what I found was big huge pieces of prawns. I do wish the sauce was a bit less sweeter. So hard to find authentic Chinese food in Bergen county. I will say that this place is good for your generic Chinese food: chicken and broccoli, General Tso, etc. The two standouts here are the pork fried rice (which is unusually good) and the house wontons. My husband hates that the wontons are thick but like everyone else says ... the sauce is crack!!! Edit: I forgot to mention that delivery is quick and the service is exceptional. PROS: This place is a typical Chinese food place. However, the lady speaks english well and never screws up an order. The cooks work very fast to make sure it can hit the 10 minute deadline. CONS: The place is to small! you only have about 10 feet by 4 feet of space to stand in when your waiting for your food. Since it's to small there are no tables for you to eat in (if that's something you enjoy doing) and I do not think there's a bathroom for you. There is also no parking lot, unless you use stop n shops. Otherwise you have to park on the street. The biggest issue is that THE SOY SAUCE GIVES ME A STOMACH ACHE EACH TIME. I ordered for the family today and got egg foo young, beef lo mein and boneless spareribs combo. Egg foo you tasteless. Terrible. Lo mein tasteless, not sure that was beef. It was definitely chicken so they messed that order up. Boneless spareribs combo... Ok so one side of the rib pieces normal the other black and crunchy. They burnt it so bad. I think that the quality has gone downhill. I recently ordered from them. The ribs on the bone were less meaty. The chop suey and chow main were on the skimpy side although the restaurant claims they are the same size as in the past. The pork fried rice was all dried out . When I was in Tenafly, my mate at the time took me to one of the few places to this place to get food because it was one of the few places that were of walking distance. We ordered a sweet and spicy vegetarian rice box and a kung pao chicken rice box. To my dismay, both rice boxes taste the same and they use way too much cornstarch as a thickening for their sauce. The amount of oil they used was just insane. The only thing I find edible in the spicy vegetarian rice box was the white rice. Chinese take out places are usually mediocre anyways but this was just a plain disappointment. One of the few take out places in the middle of nowhere and their food is not even okay tasting? :-( The only thing that prevented me from giving them a 1 star was because this was of walking distance from where I staying at the time. Okay so I give this place a shot since it's just a mile away from the hotel I'm staying at I made the phone call for delivery guy was very pleasant on the phone said about 30 minutes I order the shrimp with lobster sauce combination and of course I had to add the house special wontons because the rave reviews on here sounded like that was what I needed to do so very glad that I did!! Let me just say like one of the prior reviews stated this is definitely old school shrimp with lobster sauce there's a restaurant that I used to go as a teen back at home in Miami and which it's very hole in the wall and to this day when I come down there to visit I go there they remember me by name I have yet to find another place all these years that would compare to that place and guess what this place they deliver a very good shrimp with lobster sauce just delicious and the fried rice is cooked perfectly really tasty stuff finally those special crack wontons wow yeah I understand why everybody likes them they're delicious and they give you a very good amount I mean I'll have leftovers for a couple of days I know that! Too many times I've gotten food here (pork fried rice, lo mein, chicken and broccoli) and tasted a funk to it that made me feel it wasn't fresh, like the chicken and pork were on their way out.
