First time stopping in! Went with my go-to lunch special, chicken in garlic sauce. Restaurant was very busy and I'm glad my food didn't take long! Service was good, with a clearly overwhelmed young fellow at the register. He was keeping it together though and had a good attitude! As for my food, portion was average, the garlic sauce had a hint of garlic, no spice, and was thick and sweet. Not really my favorite way to make it. Wonton soup was decent. Looking at the kitchen, chicken wings and fries seemed to be a very popular item. I won't avoid Far East, but I won't go out of way to get food from here. read more

However, we tried this place since it was closest from our home and surprisingly, we absolutely love this place!!! They have the best garlic broccoli and beef chow fun was tasty as well. If I could leave a negative star I would. The food was awful! Both my husband and I ordered two different specialty dishes and they both were swimming in sauce, no taste, no meat (mostly breading) and ridiculously small. Also, we're still in a pandemic and there were NO precautions taken for safety!!! None of the staff had masks on and none were asked of the patrons! I'm not sure if things have changed since others posted their reviews, but I didn't have the same fully positive experience. I ordered delivery on a Friday night and it came in less than 30 min; totally fast. Buuuut the scallion pancakes didn't have scallion and it was super greasy and flimsy. The shrimp lomein had hardly any shrimp (small) and the noodles were too soft. The chicken and eggplant strangely had broccoli in it. The mapo tofu was probably the best thing I ordered; it had a lot of tofu and ingredients. The portions were big/normal Chinese take out style. read more

I enjoy their food but their customer service sucks. I placed an order with GrubHub and they got it wrong. I went to the restaurant to straighten it out and they would not assist me. Good place for take out Chinese food. We liked Chicken with Broccoli but we asked them to add baby corn to it. We lovedthat. Buyer beware. I ordered 3 lunch special. When asking what kind of soups come with the lunch special, with a nasty attitude, the guy told me wonton, egg drop and hot and sour. So I ordered 2 hot and sours and 1 egg drop. Later to find out, they charged me full price for the hot and sour soups. I immediately called to question the upcharge. The guy told me that because the hot and sour soups were in a plastic container, I was charged for the soup. Mind you, I never asked for a plastic container. What a ridiculous asinine excuse. OK, I'm re - updating my existing review of Far East Things appear back to normal at Far East, (I was worried the place had changed hands, but that's not the case.) so I'm once again happy. Reasonable, nice sized portions, friendly and efficient. (Please do remember not to forget the tip jar on the counter!) I love their fried chicken wings! I love Far East. First off, bear in mind, I do not do delivery. I can't handle the suspense. I order and then pick up my food in person, thus my meal is fresher and hotter than your delivery, it's just physics. Far East is a Chinese take out joint, that is reasonable, predictable, and with consistent food quality. Please remember it's a Chinese take out joint in Englewood, NJ (not even on Palisades Avenue, but Hudson), it's not Shun Lee. Unfortunately this area of Northern Bergen County which once had a great wealth of sit down Chinese restaurants now is almost completely devoid of them, so I am forced to either cook it myself or do take out, and when I do take out 9 times out of 10 it's Far East. One bit of advice, they keep the good duck sauce and mustard in little containers in the refrigerator behind the counter, if you don't specify, they'll give you the yuchy portion control packets. read more

This is definitely a case of don't judge a book by it's cover. Totally unimpressive from the street, this little storefront place has simply wonderful take out Chinese food. Everyone who's reviewed it is right - the boneless spareribs are outstanding plus they're very lean. Over many years of going here, everything I've ever ordered has been fresh, well prepared and delicious. Their combination dinners are enough for 2 people and come with an egg roll. If you order 1 more eggroll. you'll have a very affordable dinner for 2. Delivery service is available but I usually stop by on my way home from my last appointment. Because I often don't get home until after 9, the fact that they're open late is a big help. Me and my wife used to be fans of this fancy Chinese restaurant in downtown Englewood but after a while, we realized that Far East Kitchen is far better in all aspects i.e. taste, price, cleanliness and staff friendliness. Called back the woman on the phone apologized said she forgot it. 30 minutes later still nothing. I called back and she informed me the driver did not want to come and bring what they forgot.
