The restaurant shows clear signs of aging, with yellowed printout signs and a somewhat grimy eating space. There are a few tables and chairs for those who might opt to dine in, but bear in mind there are warnings against loud noise and boisterous conversations inside the restaurant. Service - both on the phone and at the counter - was brisk and neutral as far as friendliness goes, but I don't need a Chinese takeout order to be warm and chatty. I have my therapist for that. When it comes to food, I need it to be good. And fast. To that end, orders are prepared with punctuality. After I placed my order on the phone, I was told my food would be ready in fifteen minutes. I often like to see how accurate these estimates are, so I glanced down at my watch when my bag of food was in hand, and was surprised to find that it'd been exactly fifteen minutes. As far as our meal went, it was just okay. My usual order of beef and broccoli was definitely on the greasy side, and some of the meat was on the tougher side. Taste-wise, it was spot on. My husband seemed to like his barbecued spare ribs, but there were more large pieces of hanging fat on it than I would've liked. The value point also seemed off, since a ten dollar plus serving came in a small pint-sized container (at that, not quite filled to the brim) Would I return? If I was in the immediate area and desperate for an immediate meal, I might come back. But there are a few others in the area I've tried that have hit closer to the target of my taste buds.

So the real price for one order of cheese dakgalbi is $51.90, not $25.95. This was annoying because I was the only person who wanted dakgalbi, which mean i ended up not getting it. At about $16 per pound with separate charges for noodles, it's slightly more expensive than other dry pot restaurants in the area. We had a bit of a wait on Friday night as expected but luckily, upon being seated it's just a matter of waiting for the kitchen to prepare your dish. They offered us complimentary sweet potato tempura on the house which helped curb our hunger in the meantime. There are only three people working front of house so please be patient!

Good service, fresh food, prices are reasonable. Store is small, plenty of parking spaces (watch out for incoming cars when you reverse to leave).

I guess they're okay... The rice I ordered from them were dried out and hard. I also ordered shrimp fried rice but there was barely any shrimp! I mean, I ordered SHRIMP FRIED RICE. Not DRIED FRIED RICE. My friend suggested jade lee to me because she liked how we can see what they are doing to our food. They're food is 'clean.' But I'm not so sure. So I was in the mood for some authentic Chinese and thought I'd check this place out again. The interior is nicer and more updated than it was back then but the food has fallen off dramatically. Me and my very hungry family of 4 ordered 6 dishes and each one fell well below my expectations. 1. Young chow fried rice: The rice and egg were seasoned well but the meat wasn't. My 9 year old even commented that the shrimp in it tasted like nothing. Overall probably the best dish we ordered flavor wise. The portion size is much smaller than before though but I chalk that up to every business basically giving you less for more nowadays. 2. String beans: A decent dish although it wasn't evenly seasoned. Some bean stalks were incredibly salty while others were perfect. It lacked the usual sauce that other Chinese restaurants usually pour onto the plate so they were pretty dry as well. Again the portion size was lacking to say the least. 3. Beef chow fun: Go to any Chinese restaurant in a Chinatown in a city and they all look basically the same dark brown color with large tender slices of beef. Here: light brown bordering on just slightly tan, under seasoned with small chewy or tough pieces of beef. They did add a bunch of mixed vegetables into it, which I appreciated but again, it lacked any flavor. The portion size for this was at least acceptable but definitely not to the size standards I'm used to from any Chinatown. 4. Sweet and sour pork: Originally I wanted the Peking pork chops which they used to make before COVID. I thought this would be an acceptable substitute, but I was very wrong. There was no crisp to the supposedly fried pork and although the sauce can soften the pork to a degree, that certainly was not the case here. It was either pre-made or re-heated and came out just kind of soft and soggy. The sauce was reminiscent of the kind of sauce you get at takeout Chinese or at those AYCE Chinese buffets. The portion size was good but nobody wanted to finish it. 5. Pork soup dumplings: This place used to have some of the best soup dumplings around. It is shocking how far down the quality has gone down on these. Although edible and more than enough to satiate my kids cravings, they are a far cry from what they were and what could be had from other restaurants in the vicinity. 6. Prawns w/walnuts: Without a doubt the worst dish of the meal. We were expecting the typical fried shrimp with walnuts with mayo sauce that we gotten here plenty of times pre-COVID. Now the shrimp looks like a typical battered shrimp technique similar to what you'd see at those kids stations at AYCE Chinese buffets and not the highly technical dish you'd find at any authentic Chinese restaurant. The sauce was also some sticky, drippy, yellow concoction and not the typical mayo based thick, white sauce. The broccoli garnish also tasted old, not cleaned properly, and bordering on raw when it is normally steamed and softened. It was so bad we barely touched it and had to tell the waitress about our disappointment in it. The thing that upsets me the most is the deception. All the most recent reviews on Yelp hyped this place up. The restaurant portrays itself as an authentic Chinese restaurant. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but this place is a Chinese takeout restaurant masquerading as a authentic Chinese restaurant. Honestly Chinese takeout would have been better than this place. Hopefully they can get their act together and improve the food before the real truth gets out.

You can tell they are homemade - the wonton skin is delicate (not thick, but not thin) and holds up the chili oil really well. The sauce is phenomenal, and the garlic gives it a nice kick/bite. I could just eat this and a bowl of rice, and call it a day. - Stir-Fried Shredded Pork w. Chinese Celery & Bean Curd: SO flavorful. The bean curd is firm and has a noodle like texture, so it holds up really well to the pork. I don't hate celery, but it's not my favorite green - in this dish though, I LOVE it lol. - Bok Choy w. Shitake Mushrooms: not salty and clean tasting. This is a great vegetable side dish. - Stir-Fried Beef Chow Fun: This was great! What really did it for me is that they actually incorporated scrambled eggs into the dish (and the eggs were nicely seasoned). I also loved the fact that instead of onion, they paired it with cabbage. I heart you.
