Though the delivery time was close to half an hour, I'm happy to report the food and packaging survived the trip with little ill consequence. The beef chow fun was a definite hit. I loved the savory sauce on the slippery noodles, and there was a generous amount of tender beef throughout the container. This was a pure carb-and-protein delight. Over the course of travel time, the sauce inside the beef with broccoli became chilled and slightly gelatinous. While it looked slightly unappetizing, the taste was great. The broccoli was also well tender, which I appreciated because I'm regularly disappointed with al dente veg from other Chinese restaurants. I also ordered a shrimp egg roll, mainly out of curiosity because it was my first time seeing it on a takeout menu. I believe Fairview Chiense deserves 3 stars. Wasn't great but also wasn't terrible. I've definitely had worse Chiense food! We ordered a large wonton soup, pork fried dumplings, plain lo mien, chicken with broccoli, white rice and pork fried rice. The three main factors that contribute to my 3 star review are as follows: the sauce in the chicken In broccoli was lacking, the rice was extremely dry and we did not receive an egg roll with our order that was over $15. However, I did enjoy the wonton soup and pork fried dumplings! They were both delicious. The dumplings were doughy and the meat inside was very tasty as well. Overall, I probably will not be ordering from Fairview Chiense again because of the dryness of the rice and the lack of sauce in their chicken with broccoli. There's definitely better Chiense take out in the area but if your just looking for some dumplings or wonton soup, this is you're go to! read more

The best Chinese take-out place I've come across in years. Two orders about a week apart with some overlap and some differing items - every single one of which was a winner. Vegetable egg foo young was on point and the sauce had the right consistency. Sesame chicken was excellent both times. The first time had some unexpected spicy heat and, even though it was unexpected, was delicious. Eggplant in garlic sauce was delicious. Sweet and sour chicken was exactly what you'd want and expect. I went to the restaurant on a previous review, I had the egg foo young and shrimp rolls. The shrimp roll was crispy and fresh with a lot of shrimp, the same for the egg foo young. I really had a taste for a shrimp roll and they satisfied the taste. They have a couple of tables and its made for take out. Parking is a chore but not a major issue. the staff was courteous. Keep in mind I eat Chinese food 2 times a week every week. And I love to try and find good Chinese food places. Ok I don't get why this place is rated so high. Recently ordered the wonton in chile oil, a pint of spicy vegetable lo mein, and chicken nuggets (yes, it was definitely taking a chance ordering nuggets from a Chinese place). The vegetable lo mein is what you would expect of a lo mein, nothing to complain about there. Oddly enough, this place has probably some of the best chicken nuggets I've ever had, which is pretty comical but they really are good. The reason I had to dock a star was because I ordered chicken nuggets and received fried chicken wings the first time around. I called to see what happened because I saw that the receipt attached to the delivery bag also said "Wings". I knew I didn't order that because my online receipt said "Chicken nuggets". The woman who answered the phone was willing to fix the issue, but said "I won't charge you extra for the nuggets, but I need my wings back". Well... The food here was as good as Jade Gourmet in Cliffside Park. It was great, no complaints about my shrimp and broccoli with pork fried rice, also a side of wonton eggdrop soup. The shrimp didn't have that strong fishy taste too it, broccoli was overpowering though and the soup was perfect. Two of my favorite dishes and was satisfied with how it came out. Only downside is, didn't really have that comfortable place to eat feel in the restaurant, also trying to look for parking might be a hassle. There's street parking with a parking meter right in front of the restaurant but usually always taken plus the street is busy and narrow. Would definitely prefer having the food delivered. read more
