Noodle w/ Spicy Seafood Soup (Sichuan Jjajangmyun) - dinner plate not included
    Eric K.

Ordered delivery - Sichuan jjajang myun & japtangbap (mixed seafood over fried rice) and it turned out to be a mixed experience. First, as you can see from the pics, my jjajang had pitiful amount of meat. I mean, the sauce was actually on point but I chewed through armies of onions before rendezvousing with that lone meat comrade in the battlefield that was in my mouth. We hugged. For 'twas too few and way too far in between. *pause for sadness* The japtangbap on the other hand - it was full of flavor and had good quantity of seafood & that side cup of jjambbong soup was legit & comforting - dare I say some of the best jjambbong broth I've had around here. We even had leftover and it was great the next day as well. Good stuff. So I'm not sure what happened here - maybe on delivery they just skimped out? Was the chef feeling stingy? In-dine experience may differ based on what other yelpers are saying, but I can say Ah Woo Rang's flavor is solid. Perhaps I need to pay a visit to further ascertain my views of this place.

Price is very affordable despite the location-- $9.99 for a bowl of jja jang myun. It was very heavy on the sauce so you can even add rice. We also got the fried dumplings. Overall, an okay meal that nothing really stood out. The waitresses were very nice though. Unfortunately, we had better jja jang myun...

Yummy but expensive! Any meat dish was quite pricey (~$30). The sweet and sour pork dish I ordered was good but I don't think the portion was worth it. I also ordered a seafood noodle soup which was yummy and reasonably priced!

Visiting some friends in town and some of us were in the mood for jajangmyeon. This place is was pretty popular in the k-town area for some noodles, and my friend who toured us the city said this place was pretty poppin' for noodles. The jajangmyeon as well made, the noodles were firm and had just enough bite to them. The black bean sauce and onions/bits of meat had a subtle hint of smokiness to them that really made the jajangmyeon overall more flavorful -- was seasoned very well. Would definitely recommend that as a starting point for all the black-bean based dishes. 〇【Menu Items Ordered & Rating Details】 ・짜장면 - Noodle w/ Black Bean Sauce, $9.95 (Ttl: $9.95 (tax excl.)) 〇【Food/Drinks: 4.0】 ・Good variety of Korean-Chinese dishes to select from including seafood, noodles, rice dishes, and dumplings as well. Dessert menu is also available, albeit small. 〇【Service: 5.0】 ・Staff is very friendly and helpful -- spoke Korean and English, time to serve after ordering was short, less than five minutes. Informative about drinks when asked, patient as well. 〇【Atmosphere: 4.0】 ・Store is well maintained and bathroom is clean, inside seating has fair spacing between tables. Lighting within the shop is a nice bright ambient setting. Parking space availability is usually street side or around the corner in one of the parking lots. 〇【CP: 3.5】 ・Prices are about average for a bowl of jajangmyeon in the area, compared to where I usually get jajangmyeon its actually priced lower (usually 11.99 where I get mine from in TX). 〇【Misc memo】 ・NFC payments at the desk ・Parking is street side or in a parking lot down the road

Really came through during these times! Called one other place prior to them who wouldn't deliver "that far", but in the same town Ah Woo Rang had no problem driving. Everything was still warm/hot and tasted just like it would in their restaurant (which we've had before). Still enough for lunch the next day too! Delivery person was courteous and observed great social distancing. Really appreciated the whole transaction from beginning to end. Glad to know this restaurant is top notch.

Sevice was excellent! The food was so good and fresh! They were very accommodating with my children giving forks and cups for them.

Chinese takeout on a snowy day !!!

Yes, there are many Korean-Chinese restaurants in Fort Lee and Palisades Park, and most of them within couple of blocks on Broad Ave. We frequent the Ah Woo Rang - simply because of the quality of food. Other similar restaurants can be a bit cheaper than Ah Woo Rang, but if you truly want the Korean style Chinese Jja-Jang noodle (black bean sauce) & Jjam-ppong noodle (spicy seafood soup), this is the place. It was a perfect day for takeout on a snowy day. The only downside was that since we ordered the fried chicken to go, it had lost the crispiness ... or the batter just seemed too mushy this time. We ordered : 1) Fried rice with shrimp (comes with black bean sauce) 2) Fried chicken with spicy garlic sauce - not spicy though. The sauce is great !!!! We usually keep the leftover sauce for other purposes !!!! 3) Jjam-ppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) - quite a portion. You can order the noodle or rice to go with it. It is BYOB. There is parking lot & street parking.

While driving through the area, I was craving jjajangmyeon and discovered Ah Woo Rang on Yelp. I'm sure happy I did since it definitely hit the spot. First of all, this restaurant is on the second floor of the building so you will need to take the elevator or stairs up. Secondly, the service was superb and friendly. They were able to accommodate our toddler with a high chair with no problems. Lastly, the food and quality of ingredients were excellent. We ordered the jjajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork. My favorite was the jjajangmyeon with the noodles cooked perfectly. The sour pork was solid however it was a little heavy on the batter and got soggy pretty quick. However, the sauce was really tasty. I would recommend Ah Woo Rang if you are in the neighborhood and are craving high-quality Korean-Chinese food.

Went for Weekday Lunch Special Food - 5/5. Banchan had a refreshing flavor to them and I liked that they offer kimchi instead of kkakdugi as is the norm in Korean Chinese restaurants. Braised seafood platter had a rich, glossy sauce. Vegetables and pork were tender and shrimp had a nice bite to them. The rice was fluffy and firm. The jjamppong broth had a spicy kick to it and plenty of seafood flavor. Service - 4/5. Staff was courteous and the food came out at a good pace. They gave oranges slices at the end of the meal. Value - 5/5. $9 is a great price for a seafood meal. The food is tasty and plentiful with the only downside being they don't offer any of the staple noodle dishes in the lunch special. Parking - Mall Lot/Garage (Free)

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

2nd time coming here. Small restaurant with a few tables. Thankfully when we came (Saturday…read moreevening), there was one table available and it was the same table as last time! Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

His hot tip: this restaurant is BYOB, so hop into the liquor store (inside the Hmart complex) next door to grab some soju and beer before settling in for some grilled meats. There are some plated dishes on the menu but with grill covers in the middle of every table, it's clear this is a restaurant meant for Korean BBQ. The pork belly was incredible with decent grill-kissed char marks. The marinated beef was tasty but a little tougher than I prefer. I love all the free side dishes that came with our meat orders, especially the soybean stew and towering egg soufflé. Service is brisk and efficient..sort of. This is the sort of place where servers hover with their order pads soon after you settle down, expecting you to just know what you want. Since this is a full-service BBQ, our server came around frequently to grill, cut, or flip or meats. After all was eaten and done, it become mysteriously difficult to flag her down for our cheque. A side note about ordering: there's a two-portion minimum for meats. My husband and I don't eat much so we thought we'd split a single order of pork belly, but our server insisted we needed to order at least two servings.

We have always enjoyed dining at Daeji Ssonday in Ridgefield, but the rude and unprofessional behavior of our waitress completely ruined our family dinner. We were seated at the table directly in front of the far back-right table (when looking from the counter). From the moment we sat down, the service was hostile: Aggressive Attitude: As soon as we sat, she demanded our order loudly. When we asked questions about the menu, she answered with visible irritation. While we were briefly discussing options with our children, she slammed her notepad onto our table with a loud "bang" and walked away, startling both us and our kids. Negligent Service: She continued to be rude throughout the meal, literally tossing side dishes onto the table. Furthermore, the exhaust hood at our table wasn't working properly, causing the smoke from the pork belly to fill the air and make it hard to breathe. She didn't check on us until much later. Ruined Meal Flow: While we were still eating our pork belly, she came over and--without asking--scraped all the meat onto a side plate to clear the grill for the spicy squid. We had to eat cold, greasy pork belly instead of enjoying it warm off the grill. She never even asked if we wanted fried rice afterward and ignored our table for the rest of the night. We always try to treat service staff with respect and gratitude, but this experience was unacceptable. Despite our polite demeanor, we were treated with zero professional courtesy. If the manager or owner is reading this, please look into the staff working that shift. This waitress needs serious retraining in basic customer service. It's a shame because we loved this restaurant, but after tonight, we have no desire to return.
