We ordered a ton of takeout food for 11 people on a Sunday afternoon. They open at noon on Sundays. It took about an hour to complete the order. But it was worth the wait. Is it a law that chinese restaurants must suck after two or three good dines? My first three orders here were promising. I thought I found my new go-to favorite dish in their Spicy Crispy Fish. The first time it was fantastic. Subsequent orders found it growing more limp and soggy. The vegetables portion was always good. I swore I wouldn't order again after strike three. After several months, I thought I'd take a chance and hope some improvements were made. Nope. Same thing. Suggestion for the proprietor; package the fish filet separately from the vegetables instead of under them. It's a good dish that is poorly executed. read more

We have always ordered our Chinese food from here since moving nearby in 2006. The food is delicious and the price is very reasonable especially considering other nearby restaurants. Lunch specials are a family favorite which includes a choice of soup and we often order dinner in for a movie night. We like that it is a family owned business and they are very friendly. read more

Food is always fresh and served up hot, whether delivered or you opt for pick up. Very compassionate family. While I was ill and unable to make it to the restaurant, they took such good care of me sending extra food and drink in my many delivery orders. I cannot thank them enough. A small, family run, Chinese take out place. Definitely our go-to for Chinese. Over the past 20 years we have probably sampled every similar establishment in the area and have stuck with Mr Wonton. The food is always good and fresh and the service is even better, the whole family is very nice. They customize dishes to our liking and it is ready in a flash. We often joke that our order is ready to go before we hang up the phone. Although, admittedly, the place isn't much to look at, the food is always solid. read more

My go-to for Chinese delivery. Whether it's been pick-up or delivery I've never had a problem with the order. While it is strictly take out they do have a table or two if you choose to eat in but I would advise against that just because of the size of the place. Every time I go there or have the food delivered it's with a friendly smile I've ordered so many times from there that they know me by name always friendly and they always toss in an extra two liter of soda. I don't know how they do it but no matter what I order or how large the order it's always 15 minutes. I will always continue to order my Chinese food from there if you get a chance definitely try it out. The sign reads, "Mr. Wonton...Best Takeout", or something to that effect. I had the steamed chicken and broccoli with brown sauce and NO rice, because they didn't give me any rice!!! We first ordered from here because they delivered a menu to our place........we are very happy they did! Fast delivery and food was very very good for Chinese takeout! Homemade wonton soup, boneless ribs and the teriyaki beef sticks are above average for this type of place and so is everything else we've tried. They even have hibachi and teriyaki entrees! We just wish they had honey wings. As others on here have said, they do Americanized Chinese food better than other places for great prices. The real test for me is Egg Foo Young. We order from here often. We've tried several places in the area but we keep coming back to Mr. Wonton. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. It's run by a very loving family. My favorite is the homemade steamed dumplings. They are so good. The skin is just thin enough and not gummy. The filling is delicious. More often than not they will send you home with a free item that you didn't order. The chicken tenders. Oh My God. I love this place. Hot and sour soup, yes please. Fried wontons. Yes and thank you. Kind of gross. Walked in to place an order, some guy sitting at a table, reading a paper and snapping peas. Didn't work there, a crossing guard just keeping warm and helping out I suppose. Ok I'll ignore that. Place my order and notice the woman who took my order. Her hands looked like they were covered in paint or something. Ok that's strike 2. Phone ringing off the hook, cook comes over to help take orders. His hands are covered with paint looking substance as well and he's touching the phone which is covered in grease and dirt. Staff is so friendly and funny! Food is one of the best around the Bergenfield, New Milford, and Dumont area. I usually get the broccoli with brown sauce or the sesame chicken and both are delicious! Their food is not oily and tastes fresh! The only reason why I'm giving a 4/5 is because of the actual restaurant. Walking in, I didn't feel very comfortable eating from here since it didn't seem sparkly clean but that's just me! The food definitely overpowers the appearance of the restaurant! read more
